So will the new Green party take votes from the Greens or National?
I hope some true Green voters move to them.
But once again they need to get some good traction early to have any chance of getting 5%.
Greens dig.
The Nats have turned purple with their blue-green so they ain’t going to lose many that follow their green prattle.
With any luck, those Greenies who don’t like Davidson and all her cohorts will move and that will leave the Greens under 5%. That’s them gone.
The Nats will try like hell to uck Tava in as a support Party just so he doesn’t have to deal with Seymour because Seymour is too principled for the Nats and their Catholic Bishop.
The Nats will continue to sell out on everything they think they can do so.
I agree. The nats are so arrogant to think they are the natural party to be in govt.
Act plus the new greens will shift the political landscape. The centre is where you win elections.
Seymour as kingmaker?
That certainly will be interesting.
I’m glad that you have certainty of thought but you are wrong. I suppose it depends on what you see as “centrist politics” but with the vast majority of Kiwis raised inside a welfare state and a smaller majority receiving some form of Government welfare you haven’t got a hope in hell of being elected if you are a centre right or even dead centre political party.
DN15 – I’m not sure Viking and Ed are right that the threat is to the Greens. I think National’s internal polling must have shown that Tava’s job creation scheme for himself is going to draw considerable support away from National/Labour Lite – which explains their utterly irrational support of the Zero Carbon Act.
I think most of the lunatic fringe that vote for the Greens are true watermelons, they like to be able to wrap themselves sanctimoniously in the cloak of environmentalism, but at the core they are hardcore Marxist types. They are never going to desert the extremist home they’ve found in the Green party.
Whereas there is a considerable number of National voters who are environmentally concerned but can see that the Greens are nuts and so will never vote Green, but National have taken their support for granted in the past and they would be sympathetic to the false ‘Green centrist’ front that Tava is peddling.
Environmentalist Green party supporters are getting just about everything they want with the CoL:
– oil and gas industry ruined
– investment in renewables and Green investment pipedreams
– roading projects eviscerated to be replaced by white elephant train sets
– Zero Carbon Act
– petrol prices through the roof
– subsidies for electric vehicles
– ETS up and running soon
Why do they need to find a new home for their votes. Satisfied voters stay loyal. The only greenies who are not satisfied are those in National. Watch – Labour and the Greens won’t attack Tava too much – he’s following the plan, he’s of their tribe, he’s damaging National.
DP (that’s an unfortunate initials) Yes I know what you mean about New Zealanders being basically center left
But I do think there are a growing number of kiwis that work hard and don’t like their tax money being thrown away.
Also, whilst most seem to accept Climate Change in some way.
78% percent voted against a National Climate Change Emergency. (That’s a lot)
And yes I think that National caved in to the bill so as not to lose too many climate change supporters.
So how many climate change deniers will vote Act?
As they always say.
The next polls will be interesting…
DP
As I have said a few times National were going to support the Zero Carbon Act from day 1. Bridges offered bi-partisan support in July 2018 when Shaw announced the work on the bill was proceeding. Bridges publicly announced bipartisan support on the SAME day.
I agree it was a stupid thing to do. Now they have people saying if they did not support it they would be labelled as deniers all next year. If that is all they are worried about they are gutless. There is plenty of information out there showing how it will negatively affect the economy in a BIG way. Then yesterday we have in the Guardian, Shaw saying there is a very slim chance it will affect temperatures.
I think Judith Collins will use it to mount a leadership challenge –when and how, I do not know.
I saw a poster up for a public meeting for the New Conservatives (I think) in Tauranga.
I wonder if they will get any traction.
They’re finished. National have completely taken over the moralising, Godbothering territory they’d rammed their stake into.
Strange really that National that had its genesis in 1936 as a liberal party now uses “liberal” as a snarl word.
Poll: Should the exotic trees in Mt Albert be cut down and replaced with natives?
https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/shows/2019/11/should-the-exotic-trees-in-mt-albert-be-cut-down-and-replaced-with-natives.html
The Mt Albert community are up in arms as 345 ‘exotic’ trees are set to get the chop today.
150 people came together yesterday for a funeral procession, concerned about the “environmental destruction” caused by giving the long-established trees the chop.
Some are calling the trees ‘pests’, others claim they are the homes to entire ecosystems.
But what do you think? Should the exotic trees in Mt Albert be cut down and replaced with natives?
88% No
Join the dots. The natives want to cut down the natives. Go figure that one out.
The Maori Council are behind the chopping of the trees apparently. The locals are concerned that all the trees will be felled in one go decimating the local ecology.
They can see the money and free feeds in this!
A bit like the girls in yesterdays have your say!
Sustainable New Zealand leader says new party could work with Labour or National
https://www.tvnz.co.nz/one-news/new-zealand/sustainable-new-zealand-leader-says-party-could-work-labour-national?auto=6102347195001
“Mr Tava himself ran for co-leadership in the Greens, only gaining one of the 127 delegate votes.
“Is this a left-wing party or is it a party that’s beyond left and right and for sustainability which is always the image which has been held up, you know, the public face of the party.
“I got the answer very clearly which is no, this is a left wing party and if you don’t accept that you don’t belong here. So I thought “well, let’s start a new one”.
“What people are looking for and what we’re hearing consistently is that people are looking for a party that prioritises the environment, that has an economic plan for doing that and doesn’t get caught up in social issues.”
Climate change protest: Sinking ‘home’ drifts down UK’s River Thames
https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/world/2019/11/climate-change-protest-sinking-home-drifts-down-uk-s-river-thames.html
“A floating mock-up of a typical British suburban home was seen slowly sinking into the Thames in central London on Sunday in a protest organised by Extinction Rebellion to demand politicians fighting a Dec 12 general election act on climate change.”
I do hope XR will retrieve their rubbish they have dropped in the Thames River at the end of their protest.
I would hope they are charged for the removal and pollution control!
Hours left to vote in Bird of the Year
https://www.tvnz.co.nz/one-news/new-zealand/hours-left-vote-in-bird-year?auto=6102249714001
I’m guessing Tall Man won’t be voting for Kea as bird of the year. 😉
“Kea are known for their intelligence”, “and will work together to achieve a certain objective”
Completely different bird don’t you think?
Just like fishing in a barrel. I didn’t even need to bait the hook 😉

Great news for Iran, great news for the world
https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/world/2019/11/iran-discovers-massive-oil-reserves-worth-potentially-trillions-of-dollars.html
Its those 11,000 “scientists” that belong in the ground
Peak oil !!! What happened to it ?
Strange, they have had geoligist climbing the sand dunes since before Lawerance of Arbia and only just found it!
I dare the Climate EX guys/gals to go to Iran and tell the Iranian leaders they must leave the oil in the ground to save the planet.
If only the Iranian people could get rid of that evil Shia government, they might be able to prosper, and enjoy life.
Evidence heard in court proves Winston Peters has repeatedly lied over the facts of his superannuation overpayment.
https://www.newsroom.co.nz/2019/11/11/901678/to-these-civil-servants-words-matter-mr-peters#
“The MP said he repaid “way less” than $18,000 and then said it again:
“To say I repaid $18,000 is demonstrably false.”
But the Ministry of Social Development knew the right answer.
He didn’t pay back $18,000. The court heard, first from Peters on day one and then repeatedly from others, that he repaid $17,936.43.
It was court evidence so is accepted as demonstrably true rather than his claim of “demonstrably false”.
$63.57 less than $18,000! You sack of lying shit, Whinestone!
Paid the $158,000 back yet that you stole from the taxpayer?
What about the the money for the lady at the pub, Bell tried to murder?
Now you can hold up your NO sign!
Hannah Tamaki’s Vision NZ says it will ban the construction of mosques, temples and other ‘foreign buildings’
https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/2019/11/hannah-tamaki-s-vision-nz-says-it-will-ban-the-construction-of-mosques-temples-and-other-foreign-buildings.html
“They are not us and we are not them,” Tamaki said on Monday, promising no “back-room” or “behind closed door deals” with “any migrant community, including the Chinese”.
“I promise to put Kiwis first and immediately stop the phony Indian marriage scheme before proceeding to bring an immediate stop to all further mosques, temples and other foreign buildings of worship being erected in our company,” the Destiny Church matriarch said.
“They can be us if they who choose to integrate with our Kiwi way of life and not the other way around.”
Now that’s going to get shane thinking….. Fancy another political party playing the “race card”….
Don’t they know that’s “what’s in it for wynston” ‘s territory? I wonder if the tamakis are as quick to drop their promises as “what’s in it for wynston” does?
Last week we saw a bit of vitriol poured on a couple of Indian looking economists despite neither actually being Indian and now we have this advice from another economist who also disagreed with Steven Joyce about labour’s now clearly visible fiscal hole….
https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/money/2019/11/it-s-christmas-for-borrowers-so-why-aren-t-councils-borrowing.html
Does he truly believe that rates will remain low forever?
Here he is part of the “community” disagreeing with Steven.
https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/election/2017/09/economist-consensus-there-s-no-11-7b-hole-in-labour-s-budget.html
It’s not because they are “Indian looking” it is because they are so obviously shilling for the Labour party and their lame economic abilities. I also mention Bernard Hickey in the same breath and he definintely isn’t “Indian looking.” The shouting down of Stephen Joyce’s claim to a fiscal hole by the four mentioned never has been properly questioned by the msm who let them get away with their political leaning so-called economic crystal ball predictions.
Same as the Westland Dairy, borrowed too much, to defend themselves against Fonterra. Though they take the risk, the Chinese Yili conglomerate may eventually be taking a good profit.
Fonterra itself, borrowed to do gain market share connections, to try and make some value add and ingredient mix.
So the dividends per share are gone for now.
Talk of retention, which is a call on the farmers’s income, which may happen while keeping milk pay out high? Quite a few dairy farms can not take too low a milk solid payout.
A fine line now for Fonterra, as too low a payout and milk flow to the factories will reduce, going to competition, or other alternatives, like calf rearing. or alternative ways of farming, etc.
Under used factories are cost when mothballed for months.
———-
The part is borrowing money for what? Cycle ways? Heated swimming pools? Conference Centres, statues, theatres, festivals, events, etc, and public/private partnership like for hotels,+ all the shiny “must haves” as pushed for as the sustainability, and vibrancy of the community.
Or is it the context, Build it and the people will come, as they will value the kindness and welcome of the new facilities.
The government will soon help the people to arrive with resettlement programs.
The roads, water, sewerage, systems even if borrowed, are tacked on rates with the interest charges…Developers make contributions, so what does the council do with that money?
I also see that ones that pay too high a rates, for these basic services, then tack those high costs, on other surrounding communties, to spread the cost, not that they were allowed any say initially in the “whatever” project.
Some parts of the borrowed money will find its way to crony capitalists, for the job making investments, that at the end of the day, as the above, needs a high input as it is the running costs and maintenance, that seem to be never calculated, and just panned out onto rate payers.
They do not realize that the high rates in some districts, does limit the availability of houses, particularly for renting. As to build a house attracts a lot more higher rates, as any house builder soon learns, plus all the council sustaining fees.
https://www.newstalkzb.co.nz/on-air/mike-hosking-breakfast/audio/patrick-walsh-government-set-to-back-down-on-regional-hubs-for-schools/
Although it is good news, I doubt very much it will impact on the size of the new tranche of public servants that they planned to employ.
https://www.newstalkzb.co.nz/on-air/the-weekend-collective/audio/jami-lee-ross-hopeful-he-will-be-re-elected-in-2020/
“Ross quit National last year after a public falling out with leader Simon Bridges and a battle with mental health.”
Love it. Not a single mention of him being a lying scum bucket. I guess we know which horse the media will support.
Wow now I’ve got 4 parties to vote for next year
National
Act – voted against zero carbon
NZ First – no more Indians
Vision NZ – no new mosques
The New Conservatives
(some good far right policies)
Public Meeting in Tauranga with leader Leighton Baker

I plan to go and have a listen
The one good thing about the Climate Change hysteria is that people who advocate a reduction in the world population (me) no longer get shouted down.
It must be obvious to anyone that more people equals more climate change gases.
So reducing the world’s population is the only way to go.
200,000 new mouths every day!
Simon Bridges blasts New Zealand First as ‘no friend’ of regions and farmers
https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/2019/11/simon-bridges-blasts-new-zealand-first-as-no-friend-of-regions-and-farmers.html
He was responding to a disgruntled caller from rural Otago called Jack who said he was disappointed that National had voted for the Zero Carbon Bill.
“They don’t care about rural people,” Jack told Magic Talk. “If [National] want people to vote for them, start standing up for people in New Zealand and stop being sheep.”
Bridges, who was interviewed straight after, said he was “not sure what surprised Jack” about how National voted on the legislation, which passed its final reading last week.
Bridges said he’s “not sure why Jack’s so angry at us when Winston Peters blocked every single change we wanted to make sure the law didn’t hurt the economy and jobs and incomes every step of the way”.
If Winston First blocked the ‘good bits’ Gnats proposed then why the hell did they vote for this marxist country-destroying crap?
I’m with Jack.
It is easy to see why Bridges was only a provincial govt lawyer.
He is not very bright.
I remember 6 or so years ago even John Campbell was able to get him rattled in 2 minutes flat.
National sell us out
Thought the same howitis, if Simon doesn’t get it then… He is of a younger generation so perhaps he is missing the perspective of Jack and many, many other angry NZ’ers who feel sold out by National. NZ the way NZ’ers want it, not how the UN mandate NZ to be is the way National should be heading.
I’m voting Act next year. National have let us down too many times in recent years. To hell with Act being small and only having one MP at present. If we all vote for David Seymour, the only one to stand up against the unnecessary zero carbon bill, the stupid gun buy-back scheme, etc then he can return to Parliament after the election with several other Act MP’s. That’s my plan and I can’t see it changing in the next 12 months.
Anyone know where SLG attended a remembrance service?
I will be going to this debate. Does anyone want to join me?
I can book a table.
Live from the Chapel Bar – Climate crisis or climate hoax with:

National voted 100% for the Zero Carbon Bill.
They are into this climate hoax with OUR money.
Sure they will amend it as they amended student loans and WFF!
My methane filled arse they will!
David Seymour of ACT has stood alone here as with so many things.
I am approx 14% Carbon as are you Chuck.
I am not cutting any of that out. I am a walking carbon sink !!
Who is actually going to challenge the climate lies.
It can’t be Labour lite and Dizzy Desley Simpson’s previous husband.
Labour Lite 100% voted for :-
-Two Mums’ Zero Carbon Bill
-Removing guns from legitimate gun owners while asking gang members to kindly think about handing over their illegal weapons. Huh.
-Signing NZ to pay $1.4 Billion dollars a year to overseas countries that were too corrupt or too lazy to be first world in the last 100 years
https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/2017/05/new-zealand-to-spend-14-billion-to-meet-paris-agreement-targets.html
May 2017
…In documents released under the Official Information Act, a briefing to Judith Collins on her first day as Energy Minister says the cost to the economy of buying international carbon units to offset our own emissions will be $14.2 billion over 10 years.’
PM in waiting. Yeah right.
and
The public servants identified high risks with this:-
…In the documents, officials say “this represents a significant transfer of wealth overseas”, and also warn “an over reliance on overseas purchasing at the expense of domestic reductions could also leave New Zealand exposed in the face of increasing global carbon prices beyond 2030″…
and
…It’s not yet known where the money will come from to foot the $14.2 billion bill…
So National/Lab lite jumped in and gave away more money than they spent on the much trumpeted Christchurch rebuild. That was net central Govt spend of about $10 billion. The rest was insurance companies ($20 Billion and private ppl /local Govt about $10 bill)
Your darling National (to replace darling NZ1st) kicked off giving away as much money every year as the initial total cost of South Canterbury Finance collapse.
Every year. As a minimum. It could be more. Not less.
GFY National.
So who of that lot will defend the NZ taxpayer?
TOP without Gareth Morgan’s money are a dead loss.
“So who of that lot will defend the NZ taxpayer?”
Peter Williams might. It should be an interesting debate.
Active National Party members can certainly help.
Yes but let’s talk about dirty National leaking info…
😆 😆. Nats are a jke just like Peters was last time.
Former top civil servant backs others who told ministers of Winston Peters’ superannuation over-payments
https://www.tvnz.co.nz/one-news/new-zealand/former-top-civil-servant-backs-others-told-ministers-winston-peters-superannuation-over-payments
Seems under scrutiny of the court Winston Peters isn’t getting away with his usual BS.
Those of you who were shouting your support for shane (tuuger) jones should have a wee read of this.
https://www.newsroom.co.nz/2019/11/11/899072/the-dirty-little-secret-about-this-migration-debate
As I stated, his posturing is meaningless, just mining a few votes from the gullible who actually think he has a shred of honesty in him…. which I do not for a moment believe.
I don’t believe anything Bernard Hickey says.
The reason we keep letting immigrants in that many kiwis are traitors and go and live in other countries.
So you either replace them or you turn into a zombie town or country.
Also Shane has tried to get his nephews off the couch.
But while we keep giving them free money why would they bother to work.
Also many of the Indian immigrants have a good work ethic, which is why they fill our supermarkets, and taxis.
“I don’t believe anything Bernard Hickey says.
I don’t believe anything tugger says so that makes us even 😉
Like many others, I have family on both sides of the Tasman and I don’t see anyone seeking to better their lives as a traitor and if you can’t do it why not look elsewhere. I also have family in the oil and gas industry and their future is looking patchy here in the medium to long term.
The primary reason that we need to import workers is that we have far too many refusing to work despite being capable. They are the real traitors to New Zealand as they are happy to exploit those of us that do work and gradually run down their own country.
Arseholes all of them.
I have mentioned it before but I have an old friend residing in another country, the one of his birth, with severe mental health issues. Despite living with that affliction for 40 years he has always given back to society as much as he could through his volunteer work with a number of organisations.
That is not a story that is often repeated here.
Agreeing with Jones’ statement isn’t the same as shouting support.
Even a stopped clock and that.
Many of us agreed with his comment about immigration last week (I was one) but Jones is still a loud mouth wanker aligned to a weak party with an egomaniac for a leader.
Support?
Yeah, nah.
I think I would have to say that you have encapsulated his character rather admirably.
He really is just a cnut.

Donald Trump’s war from within: Inside the Deep State ‘cabal’

Dirty bastards!
//
From Harvey’s link:
……”A black alert indicating a very high risk of illness from swimming was issued for Castor Bay just after 3pm yesterday”……
I’m certain that the dairy farmers in the intensively farmed area north of Takapuna will be receiving a good talking to by authorities. Bloody cows shitting in the sea again!
Careful nasska, the ‘Mothers Against Dairying’ (MAD suits them!), apparently an actual group on FB will take you seriously! Shaun Plunkett mentioned them today but he cannot get them to respond to requests for an interview.
My question to these rabid urban liberals against our rural folk, Do you enjoy stopping for a latte at country cafes? Well deary, if the rural folk weren’t working in the areas on farms and financially supporting the local towns there wouldn’t be country cafes for you to enjoy. 💰😵
We could go further & say that without dairying they wouldn’t have milk for their wanky coffees, in town or country…..period!
I’ve just finished a fruitless search for usable info on pollution levels in the two rivers I know anything about ie the Manawatu & the Ruamahanga. What I have noted is that water sampling is undertaken (deliberately?) so that the pollution contributed by towns is carefully fudged. Eg. in the case of the Manawatu readings are taken east of Woodville before the admittedly farmer polluted Mangatainoka tributary joins but no more sampling is done until after the urban areas of Woodville, Ashhurst & Palmerston North have contributed their crap.
Ditto for the Ruamahanga where the fudge factor produces the same results. The smell of the sewage mixed in the water south of the Martinborough treatment facility would gag a maggot!
But the ill informed, poorly educated children bleating & blubbing about the future are told that it is all because of the nasty, mean, horrible farmers.
Oh nasska, you really are from last century.
Lattes for woke folk are made with plant milks these days.
They’ll cheat & use cows milk when no-one’s looking. 🙂

Stuart Nash proposing to double down on banning access to guns.
Government considers National’s bid to give police ‘greater powers’ over gun control
https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/2019/11/government-considers-national-s-bid-to-give-police-greater-powers-over-gun-control.html
“The orders would prevent high-risk people from being around others who have firearms, using them under supervision, or being at a location that enables access to guns.
“It could mean that someone subject to an FPO wouldn’t be able to visit a property where firearms are held, or even if the firearms owner is licensed.
The person subject to an FPO also wouldn’t be able to travel in a vehicle carrying a firearm, and they wouldn’t be able to go hunting even under supervision.
Nash said FPOs could offer police “greater powers” to investigate people “whose behaviour cannot be regulated by a firearms licensing system”.
“FPOs are aimed at those who have already shown a disregard for the law through prior offending, which may include offending with firearms,” he said.
“They could be a gang member, or part of an extremist ideological group, or a person with a history of family harm.”
Police could search properties and confiscate illegal firearms, parts and ammunition, and could monitor conditions place on people with a history of reoffending.”
“Government considers National’s bid to give police ‘greater powers’ over gun control”
The police should not be given any “powers over gun control.” The job of the police is to enforce the laws the government makes they have shown themselves far too ready to make up new laws as they go along. Sadly the police can no longer be trusted and the administration of the Arms Act should be taken away from them because they seem more concerned with hassling licenced sporting shooters who are not a problem rather than dealing with criminals who misuse illegally held guns. Only the courts should have the power to issue firearms prohibition orders.
Are we really so keen to live in a police state?

Like you I see the expenditure on vanity/luxury projects as despicable while we have infrastructure projects that are years behind and current infrastructure is collapsing in front of their eyes.
I have been asked on behalf of the Public Transport Team at Auckland Transport to pass on a message to you. Due to industrial action today, the Go Bus operators from the East Depot have been affected. They are still operating the school bus services today, but there were delays this morning. This afternoon’s service should not be impacted, but more industrial action may occur again tomorrow, so it would be advisable to check.
No strikes on your watch, eh Jacinda Ardern? This one isn’t even signalled ahead of time – we found out about it on the day it happens. A pox on all unions.
A pox on the white collar fuckwits who treat the drivers like shit.
Good comment Ross.
Looking at the electoral map from 2017, National do well in country electorates and not so well in the cities. Their support of the ZCA shits on farmers and people living rurually – ie it shits on their core support base? And it will deliver no support in the cities – supporting ZCA is indeed incredibly stupid. But Simple Soimon and the blue rinse brigade are nothing if not consistent in their irrationality.
We’re fucked. Luxon (another chardonnay socialist) will be the next leader and Collins (the best leader they never had) will have been squeezed out by the Labour Lite blue rinse brigade.
If one wanted to liberate ones capital from NZ before it gets Venezualised, where else is there to run to?
This is what Bridges said in a speech at the Field Days in 2018
From the NZH report on the speech “In his speech, Bridges said the lack of mitigation options for farmers meant the only likely behaviour change would be the culling of herds.”
Then we have the link, from Waikatogirl below, saying Bridges is blasting NZF as no friend of the regional and rural areas. Something tells me Bridges is getting worried.
I know NZ has it in the bag for exporting to the USA,,, well except for when we go over the beef quota, then bang heavily tarriff,
Same for milk products, simply tarriff, so only good when their market is high and so pay the tarriff to the USA government..
Aluminium steel, tarriff, so easily affected.
High paying EU markets also have quotas, and put hidden demands, and indirectly can influence NZ regulations.
Simon Bridges field day speech.
– science-based
– technology driven
– long-term incentives
– global response, and
– economic impact. …..
… Similarly, those five principles are the tests that need to be met before agriculture faces costs under the ETS.
……. On incentives, the current lack of mitigation options means the only behaviour change it will likely drive is the culling of herds – which risks simply moving food production overseas, where taxes haven’t been imposed. Moving from efficient Kiwi farmers like you, to offshore farms that pollute more. …..

Like BBC reception out in the back of Africa, rather fuzzy and blurry, but make of it what you will. 🙂
It is like do you want to Hard Brexit, when NZ is only a little teaspoon at the end of the earth.
China may seem easy to trade, but the conditions, as it was as much political to force Fonterra, to sub-partner agreements before anything is sold into China.
It is a game our trade partners play, with their smoke and mirrors, and so we reflect some of that.
It is an absolute minefield, for NZ., otherwise any one would be exporting and making a fortune.
Certainly wish we had no rules and regulations, but the other countries will soon fill that vacuum, and leave NZ with nothing to suck on.
Thanks for that Simpleton 1.
Clearly the NZH or the report on their article, edited what Bridges said, in their report because I did not see the last part of the sentence when I saw it at the time.
Remember the Peak Oil hoax folks?
According to the “scientists” our society should have collapsed by now like something out of Mad Max.
In reality production is a record highs and Iran just discovered a massive reserve that will ensure supply for many many years to come.
The authoritarian left are outraged 🤣
Jenée Tibshraeny details why the political unity shown around the Zero Carbon Bill will be short-lived with National and NZ First to battle it out for the farming vote
By Jenée Tibshraeny
Clear the space – the tug-of-war between National and New Zealand First for farmers’ votes is about to intensify.
With election year on our doorstep, New Zealand First is increasingly digging in its heels to differentiate itself from Labour and Greens.
It needs to reassure its base that although it couldn’t prevent the new oil and gas exploration ban, and was forced to support the Zero Carbon Bill because of its coalition agreement, it is in fact the “champion of the regions”.
National has always been the home for farmers.
In 2017 there was a sense people were tired of the old guard – John Key, Bill English and Steven Joyce.
It wasn’t immediately clear whether the relatively young new leader, Simon Bridges, would ride the wave of change, or stick to tried and tested, true blue values.
Two years on, it’s evident National’s gone for the latter.

When the Government changed the law for licensed firearms owners, it consulted for just two days, leaving almost no time for people to give their views. Now that it’s looking at firearms prohibition orders to make it harder for criminals to get guns, it’s consulting for a whole two months.

Give a man a fish & he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish & he will eat for a lifetime.
Unless of course he is a vegan in which case he wont eat at all & will try to convert you to his pretentious lifestyle with misguided statements about its heath benefits.
I regard the life of the noble maggot as more valuable than a vegan.
They are arrogant nasty dishonest people filled with hate.
…..”They are arrogant nasty dishonest people filled with hate”…..
Take scotch fillet out of my life then substitute it with lentils & grass clippings. It’s odds on I’d turn out the same way. 🙂
Newshub seems obsessed with Grace’s Tinder date.
Now they are exploring the accused’s sexual preferences – I hope they are comfortable with the defense exploring Grace’s sexual preferences. Which they should.
Everytime some young blonde dies partying, some poor young bloke gets blamed. It’s always some man’s fault.
The case should never have seen a courtroom.
Forty Shades of Kea.
Coming to a bookshop near you soon. 🙂
Take your pathetic adulation of this PO to Grace’s father. What the fuck is wrong with you two wankers. A young woman was murdered and dumped like a piece of rubbish in the bush.
You both disgust me and hopefully all normal thinking people.
Gosh why are they bothering with a trial?
In reality the defense sounds credible. It was an accident.
So stop the sleazy grandstanding. It’s a bit creepy and troubling to be honest.
You show yourself to be a sad disgusting piece of shit.
Yes I imagine Tinder’s views will be going through the roof.
And then Tova O’brien detailed the public servavnts accessing pron whilst at work!
And showing all the website addresses on screen.
I was struggling to write them all down.
I agree 100% Diggy
Hi WG. Last week, they were identified as Indian but as the article shows all 8 economists claimed there was no fiscal hole.
Anyway, the point of my post was the “urging” of many economists wanting both central and local government to borrow extensively due to interest rates being low which will not last forever and would also have the end result of actually increasing rates over a short period.
https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/2019/11/prime-minister-jacinda-ardern-throws-doubt-on-vernon-tava-s-sustainable-nz.html
Perhaps ardern the liar may want to refresh her memory about a SLG who got into politics to eliminate “child poverdee (sic)………
Looks like your refrain: Jacinda Ardern Liar is catching on…

My guess is that after 5 weeks of a very expensive trial he will be found not guilty.
Murder needs to be shown to have intent. They were clearly getting on OK.
And she signed up for it, as did the other girls!
I think it was manslaughter.
He tried to hide it.
And he should be charged financially and pay for all the costs of the police investigation.
I agree. He panicked and showed poor judgment.
At least she died happy.
Those of you posting on this forum…. Have a look at this comment and decide if this is what you want to be associated with. Comments like this will find their way onto the wider net. Imagine discussing this with Grace Millane’s family and friends.
I support free speech from rational and intelligent people… This comment crosses a line and those of you that do not see that need to rethink your place in this world.
Guilty by accusation with no due process then ?
I think it’s your moral compass we need to worry about.
You are only acting out like this because the deceased is a pretty young girl. Stop it. Its creepy.
Seriously? I took you for a more intelligent person that this post.
When I was young it was hard to find a girl at all.
Now it seems they all want rough sex
Take that comment to your wife and daughter.
A shrink would have a field day with your frantic moral grandstanding over this. Very contrived.
Anyone heard about the inquiry into the sexual assault affair with guy from Ardern’s office ? That report must be in by now.
You mean the Cover-up?
There was not one attack. There are 12 known victims.
A company which claims to have identified over 1200 defective buildings and structures around the country in the last five years says it’s a snapshot of a wider problem which is a very real threat to public safety.
Concrete Structure Investigations director Jane Roach-Gray says buildings are still being constructed with missing concrete and reinforcing steel and haven’t been built to specified plans. Roach-Gray claims the company has found defective buildings in Auckland, Hamilton, Tauranga, Hawke’s Bay, Wellington and Christchurch and they include apartment blocks, offices and public buildings.

A big worry. Two major buildings in Tauranga are suspect.
Most of our concrete and masonry in NZ is crap. As is most of our housing.
It’s a disgrace. Especially given the mental price of property.
Keep up Viking. I put up a post about this a month ago
Bus drivers accuse managers of trying to drive over them during strike
https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/new-zealand/2019/11/bus-drivers-accuse-managers-of-trying-to-drive-over-them-during-strike.html
“Bus drivers are accusing their managers of attempting to drive over them during a tense Auckland strike on Monday.
First Union Go Bus drivers say the picket action in south Auckland turned serious this morning after two senior manager tried to forcefully drive through the picket line.”
So no, the managers tried to drive through the gate.
Cop slams police recruitment ad focusing on tattoos as ’embarrassing’, ‘cringe-worthy’
https://www.tvnz.co.nz/one-news/new-zealand/cop-slams-police-recruitment-ad-focusing-tattoos-embarrassing-cringe-worthy
“What is it about having ink on one’s skin that acts as a recommendation or achievement, or even credit to oneself? Nothing at all,” he wrote.
“This is cringe worthy and short-sighted. Stories of officers who overcame physical adversity during their recruitment might be more inspirational than stories about people who drew on themselves.
A broader appeal than ‘look at me’ attention-seeking behaviour,” Mr Atkins criticised, fearing public backlash from the advert.”
People who join the pigs are desperate for approval and attention. So many have tats.
There’s one thing often overlooked. Policing is a blue collar job……not a profession as often claimed.
It wouldn’t be of concern if ones plumber or mechanic had tats. Should be ditto for the cops.
Stop being reasonable nasska. It’s annoying 😆

It seems a shame that there are many who think the “non delivery” of a stupid policy is a shame….
