  1. Where there is smoke there is normally a fire and Stuff Journalism has ripped Winston Peter’s foundation apart by naming Clayton Mitchell as the bag man collecting all the funds from wealthy businessmen and the Racing Fraternity giving large and suspect illegal donations to NZ First.
    https://i.stuff.co.nz/national/politics/117577119/who-are-the-donors-behind-the-nz-first-foundation
Winston maybe able to hide and dispute the facts but the web of deception has caught him out and it will be interesting to see him crawl out of this with any kind of decent press let alone a legacy and reputation.

    • Its good to see Stuff doing some journalism for once.
I cant find a website for the NZ First Foundation, you’d think they would have one if they were truly open etc.

      • A broken clock (analogue) is correct once a day.
Note that Stuffed are changing course to try for a merger with NZME …again!
        Previouly rejected by Comcom.

So it might be that they are trying to temporarily stop the useless repeating and show some origination.
        It won’t last.
These ‘journos’ will be getting pretty jaundiced having to tell the truth.
Esp the ‘Stuff’ outfit and its banging on about global warming.

        Don’t be fooled.
The Owners Nine of Australia must be getting peed off by now after this 10 months ago.
        https://www.stuff.co.nz/business/109931109/stuff-set-for-quick-sale-by-new-owner-nine

Now it is a cluttered saleyard with a lot of stock in poor condition and only getting worse with TV3 on the auction block as well.

It sounds like this Stephen Colbert critter has realised that yelling ‘Orange man bad’ multiple times a day gets pretty wiffy.
Hence he came down here for a distraction.
By the by, given NZ Govt lies, I don’t believe for one minute that it ‘only cost the taxpayer $100k’

Don’t expect investigative ‘journalism ‘ to last when it went the way of the corner farrier or the ice delivery man 15 years ago.

    • Finally some proper journalism –
“One investor, who Stuff has decided not to name, has connections with the mānuka honey industry, and has spoken out about the need to protect the brand’s copyright.
The Provincial Growth Fund, overseen by NZ First minister Shane Jones, has granted $5.7m granted to the Mānuka Honey Appellation Society to help protect its trademark. There is no information saying the two are linked. ”
Just an amazing coincidence – fancy Shane picking that one, well colour me surprised.

      • Shane will be caught between a rock & a hard place on the honey issue. The Far North electorate he wants to represent has extensive Maori tribal interests investing in manuka honey & its infrastructure. They are in trouble because the local product lacks certain markers used NZ wide to identify the honey as unique. From what I’ve read the Northland variant of ‘Leptospermum’ is at the core of the problem.

Money talks & $170 + /kg for top grade Manuka honey vs peanuts for the downgrade product absolutely screams. Shane has to get the growers to change manuka strains or get the NZ organisation to change its marker standards.

He’ll be spending up big on this project.

    • They have tied list MP Clayton Mitchell to the foundation so Whinny is tied in and the party and foundation are not seperate!
By the way who is Clayton Mitchell, what’s he done in parliament?
      Had never heard of him!
Must have been looking after the foundations interests!

      • Clayton Mitchell is the Tauranga MP who got asked to leave a Mt Maunganui bar by security when he refused to move out of the way of staff access and when told that they police would be called, replied “I am the police”. The following day the incident died a natural death when it turned out the bar owner was a friend of Clayton Mitchell presumably hushed his security staff’s concerns.

  2. Good morning Ed.
Any chance of getting back the comments tally for each article on the home page?
I always found that function useful.
Otherwise, really like the new format.

      • You can never win, can you? There’s always something. I’m just praying it stays as smooth and slick as it is currently. Don’t care about the weather, the currencies, the comment counts – I can read and reply and that scratches the itch admirably.

The pointed out some of the measures Labour are quietly implementing behind the scenes.
Andrew Little is particularly evil in the matter.

          13

          0

          • Andrew Little is pure scum.
That is why ‘his electorate’ in New Plymouth would not vote him in.
They know what a dodgy bastard he is.
            He grew up there.
            They knew.

Plus it was only the unions that put him in as Liebour Leader and when you are friends of the unions …well…shit happens.

The people who worked with him in Parliament (other Liebour MPs) did not want him as leader.
            How bad is that?
Dodgy incompetents of Liebour (as proven daily in the last two years) don’t even want you as their boss.

So- people who know Angry Andrew Little know he is a dirtbag and do not want him to lead them.
I met him when he was President of The Liebour Party in 2009 and for some reason he did not want to tell the truth.
He just lied when he did not have to.
            Liebour suits him.

He has such a toxic personality that the party had secret phone calls and dumped him 7 weeks before the 2017 election.

People just don’t want this critter to make decisions for them. Little is just soooo toxic.
Now he is burrowing away at our democracy in secret and the results will not be good.

  5. Something we always figured any way, but this article confirms it.
All infiltrated, so it is fully organized and financed.

~More than 200 media outlets and journalists partnered together with activists to coordinate and hype climate change news before the 2019 U.N. climate summit.
~Two of the largest media outlets — BuzzFeed News and HuffPo — did not disclose their role in the project to their readers, a Daily Caller News Foundation review found.
~The project raises questions about whether journalists should work side-by-side with activists to hype climate change. ….

…. "global energy poverty is a noble cause.” ….
… known as ‘civic journalism’ …. advocacy
    ….. “Covering Climate Now” …..
…. Covering Climate Now intends on breaking up that perception [advocacy] by wrapping climate coverage in the blanket of science rather than politics. ……

…. Climate change must be stopped at any cost. Such reporting rarely gives coverage to the economic consequences of climate activists’ preferred policies, he noted.
“We are at a point where we were at the turn of the 21st century,” Blackmon told the DCNF. “You had partisan affiliated outlets and almost no objective journalism at all. We’ve gone to that place after a period of time.

    https://dailycaller.com/2019/11/18/greta-thunberg-climate-change-media/

Schools of Journalism, certainly also in NZ., non disclosure, all to continue their propaganda.
The hypocrisy, covered by spin, dancing on pins, their debatable points of whether they did or not go into this scheme.
And so the media cover themselves in glitter, from their own “gutter self celebrities”.

    • Yes that Covering Climate Now organization was bought to my attention by the New Conservatives meeting yesterday.
Their website says that 200 news media around the world have signed up to just push Climate Change only.
      You can DuckDuckGo them. (Google)
This is why Stuff are so one eyed on it!
The New Conservatives want us to pull out of the Paris Accord, so do I.

  6. The genie is out of the bag, and so the police do this to make death more preventable. 🙁
In NZ perhaps every gang pad should be issued with one ?, as it also helps with bullet wounds.

The capital’s knife crime is at a record high – with more than 15,000 offences recorded.
The force’s Assistant Commissioner, Alistair Sutherland, said the kits were “one of the many tactics” to help cope with the capital’s “knife crime problem.
“We want to be as prepared as possible to deal with knife crime injuries.”
The kits can save time, until paramedics arrive, and prevent bleeding leading to a fatality.

  7. Showing up the lack of methodology to gain a result, showing that people are easily influenced by credentialed authority and would do criminal things under their guidance.
That has become used presenting the concept. that ordinary joe bloggs can not think for himself, so their “betters” should do that thinking,
Like the journalists/media scam of “Covering Climate Now”

…… asked to deliver increasingly powerful electric shocks to another subject whenever he got an answer wrong during a memory test. ……

….. “Milgram publicly dismissed any suggestion that his subjects might have seen through the experimental deception and his work stresses his success in convincing his volunteers that the experiment was ‘real’ even though his unpublished research showed that this was not the case,” …..

….. “The key findings of our study, that obedience to authority is not as unreasoning and automatic as Milgram would have us believe, but was based on commonsense judgements by subjects who were variously convinced and unconvinced by the experimental scenario and responded accordingly, should prompt textbook writers to significantly revise their presentations of the research,” Perry said.
    https://www.psypost.org/2019/11/unpublished-data-from-stanley-milgrams-experiments-casts-doubts-on-his-claims-about-obedience-54921

The “text book writers” use this to push that general public do not think, do not know, are ignorant, leading to taking ‘deplorable’ positions.
We can see this concept is fitted in as a foundation in many policies of government departments, and of course many politicians.

  12. Though British Labour, how far of another Ardern’s “nuclear-free moment”

John McDonnell, the shadow chancellor, pledged his government would ensure firms are “pulling their weight” to tackle the “existential threat” to the planet.

And he warned: “For those companies not taking adequate steps under Labour they will be delisted from the London Stock Exchange.”

Vowing to “rewrite the rules” of the economy to benefit workers, Mr. McDonnell also insisted curbing the “climate crisis” would be “Labour’s overriding priority” if it wins the general election.

  13. The holocaust was ‘an almost normal event’ – Extinction Rebellion founder Roger Hallam
    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/world/2019/11/the-holocaust-was-an-almost-normal-event-extinction-rebellion-founder-roger-hallam.html

“The holocaust, where about six million Jewish people were murdered by the Nazis, was “just another f**kery in human history,” Hallam is quoted as saying.

“The fact is that in our history, millions of people have died under dire circumstances,” the 52-year-old said.

Hallam’s comments have caused outrage online and people have taken to Twitter to express their disgust.

“The only f**kery I see here is from Roger Hallam. Almost a normal event? What an absolute arsehole,” one user said.

    9

      • Self evident truths don’t require my agreement. They stand on their merits.

Tens of millions died under awful circumstances in the war. The “holocaust” perpetrated by the Japanese killed around 10 million with a level of brutality that appalled the Nazi.

Interestingly Japan offered help to Jewish refugees. Also of interest is the allies agreed not to hold anyone to account for the diabolical medical experiments, if they shared the findings.

More people died in the Ukraine in a single year than the most inflated figure for jewish deaths in the war.

All that pales compared to the communist mass murders.

The fact some of the victims of world war 2 were jews is in no way remarkable.

      • A lot of people like to take the easy way out and not research facts.
        Go along to get along.

This is why lying scum know they can promote the climate fraud.
People are simply too lazy (and/or time poor) to do their own research – which has never been easier than in the last 20 years.
They can quote ‘sources’ eg. media lying in unison, and feel they ‘are correct’.

Concentration camps are associated with Germany in WW2 but in fact were used by the British in South Africa in the Boer War period and by the Spanish in Cuba both at the end of the 1800s.
Some even attribute the term to the retention of Native Americans in camps during earlier parts of the 1800s in the USA.
        https://medium.com/jill-burrows/the-origin-of-concentration-camps-f7ba681cf452

        Speaking of the USA.
There is much gnashing of teeth over US slavery when the simple facts are:
12 million African slaves were brought from Africa to the American continent(s) and Caribbean.
4 million went to Portuguese run Brazil
Less than 400,000 went Direct to what is now USA, but in fact the larger number of that sub-group were brought in by the British to their (USA mainland) colonies pre 1776.
The majority of these slaves went to the British, Spanish, and French colonies in the Caribbean.
You won’t hear that from Hollyweird lying liberals.

But all the noise is about evil Americans (the USA ones)
USA in fact purchased land for the slaves to return to Africa = Liberia.
        No-one else did.
The French went the other way. Pay for your freedom = Haiti.

The MSM now pumps out more lies than truth.
It is only fair to question what you hear.

        5

        0

        • were used by the British in South Africa in the Boer War period

Yup. Walking into the Auckland Museum and seeing the celebration of New Zealand’s role in that war when I grew up learning the history of how women and children were locked up and starved to death to lure the boers into a fight was thought provoking. History is told from many perspectives and what some nations pride themselves on, others deplore.

Walk into the Vietnam War Museum in Ho Chi Min City and then watch an American movie about the war. There’s just … no way to describe how different those perspectives are.

          4

          0

          • Yes.
NZ participation in the Boer war of aggression by the English was appalling.
A sad and totally unnecessary part of NZs short history (the real history without fishing up islands and taniwha)

As my Uncle put it so well > we were attacking ourselves.
These were ‘our people’. Stoic farmers of the era.

The days of colonization were effectively over by then.
            India was pushing back.
The Spanish colonies were in rebellion.

It is not like they were even savages.
They were hardworking people that broke in a rather tough land.
Mitchener’s ‘the Covenant’ is a good (long) read on this.

            3

            0

    • He’s not wrong. We have an emotive relationship with the holocaust, because it is so close to those of us of Western European descent. But, think about some of the Eastern European / Asian numbers by comparison.

Stalin killed (varies), but mostly agreed to be 20,000,000 people; 3 times as much as died in the Holocaust.
Mao is estimated closer to 60,000,000 people. Nearly 10 times as much.
Tojo, from Japan, killed nearly the same amount of Chinese civilians during the Japanese occupation. I believe he’s close to or just over the 5,000,000 mark.
Some reckon Ghenhis Khan reduced the worlds’ population by 10%, or around 40,000,000 people at the time. The entirety of World War 2 was responsible for less than 5% of the world’s population!

How many of those do we hear about regularly? Even though some of them happened at roughly the same time! How many of those are giving special status, where even questioning it or putting it into perspective against other crimes against humanity is seen as a “wrong” thing to do?

Note what Jack Nohi has said. Not following the approved mantra means you are a “filthy vermin”. Holy fuckwittery. Socialism and Communism are responsible for FAR more deaths than the holocaust can ever be.

      6

      0

      • The sorts of tribal people most vocal about the holocaust demonstrate the very mind set that led to it.

They apportion different values to human life according to which group they belong to.

Eg. My angry friend Jack ignoring the deaths of so many goyim as trivial.

        1

        1

          • @Pascal – “I hear you, but how many people have Christians killed over the last 1400 years?”

I very much doubt that it is more than 270 million or anything close to that.

Excluding the World Wars, a few million in Europe.
Maybe a few million in each of North and South America.
A few million in the rest of the world.
Very rough ballpark figure – maybe 12-15 million, give or take a few? Twenty million at the very most (again, excluding the World Wars).

            0

            1

            • Mate, your logic doesn’t add up. The reference you listed says all slave trade was by Islam (wut) and accounts for 25,000,000 slave deaths. Then extrapolates that out to 120,000,000 killed by Islam in one foul swoop. You then come along and exclude most of what Christian Europeans have done.

I am no fan of barbarous religions, but your comparisons feel very, very flawed. It doesn’t pass a sniff test for me.

              1

              0

            • There is a lot of dispute in this space. Arguments over motivation. For example, putting deaths in the slave trade (and over inflating the numbers) at the feet of Islam. But was their motivation religious or based on profit? Same argument for the estimated 20,000,000 killed by Conquistadors. They weren’t necessarily doing it as Christians but for gold. Would you lay deaths due to religious enforced poverty and supression of knowledge at the feet of Christianity?

Dunno. The whole “religion killed more” argument seems a bit off. I can argue for individual warlords or wars, because that is a known scenario. Comparisons there feel reasonable.

Not so (for me) on religions. They’re all fucking awful and the majority are violent.

“Couples who want to keep living the high life in their retirement will need to have close to $800,000 saved up, according to a new report.

“You’re gonna need to save between you – it’s important to remember there are two people saving this – in round figures, about $800,000 between whatever age you are and by the time you get to retirement,” author Claire Matthews told The AM Show on Thursday.

The Westpac Massey Fin-Ed Centre report, which Matthews authored, said this amount – $787,000 to be more precise – would give couples “choices” in their retirement, if they wanted to keep living in the city. In the provinces, they’d need $493,000.

For a single person in the city, they’d need not much less – $764,000. In the provinces, they’d need $411,000.”

    • Then collectively we are totally fucked.

And no – avoiding coffee and smashed avocado on toast won’t fix it.

    • “KiwiSaver is key, Matthews says, but you need to put more in than just the bare minimum”.

A part of the Government is itching to give guidance to those government linked investments, in the name of saving the planet with wellness & kindness for all.

…… “We’d like to see the Super Fund rule out fossil fuels completely from their portfolios,” she said. ……

….. Green Party co-leader James Shaw called for all government funds, including the larger $33bn fund run by ACC, to divest from companies directly involved in mining or fossil fuel production, starting with coal. ……

“ACC’s lack of a climate investment strategy shows how inconsistent this government’s approach is to managing climate change risks,” he said.
      https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/national/316052/super-fund's-climate-strategy-a-'tokenistic-gesture

      Always pressuring nibbling away,

Question 2. CHLÖE SWARBRICK to the Minister of Finance:
Will he issue a direction to ACC to divest the $920 million currently invested in fossil fuels?

      https://www.scoop.co.nz/stories/PA1911/S00170/parliament-oral-questions-21-november-2019.htm

Just what will those investments return in the near future, let alone the far future.?
      Bank interest rate?
      Land lord rental?
      Superannuation & KiwiSaver?
Just what will a $ be worth?

And governments not being responsible, not being accountable, and keeping gross GDP up as per Ponzi scheme of immigration, as will be applied by UN Migration Pact.

    • The parents are not being “stranded”, they are being “abandoned” by their children. Now they are living in a caring, sharing, cradle to the grave western country the kids no longer have to provide for them. Much easier to skip and leave the financial burden to the good old sucker, the kiwi taxpayers.

      9

      0

    • That doesn’t seem reasonable to me. The idea that immigrants are dropping their parents off in NZ and then buggering off, leaving us to pay for their parents retirement sits poorly with me.

No National or Labour government will clean this up though. They’ll both be hamstrung by their feelings.

    • “Ms Ardern said that children have the right to grow up in a place that looks after their wellbeing – where they’re loved and they’re nurtured.

It said that we should make sure children have everything that they need to thrive. And it said that we should make sure that we hear the voices of children and young people.”

Wanting to help children inspired her to get into politics in the first place, Ms Ardern said.

Brown and poor maybe, but disabled kids are not on the Minister for Childrens radar.

  16. Does the Swedish Prime Minister really care about the old citizens and communities? or is it just “unintended consequences”
So Ardern makes the point of “me too” to become “we too” but only cares at the kindergarten level.
She will also say that she does not see these problems that are coming, like when Ardern was the chair of an executive committee which ushered through changes to arms regulations in 2018.

Löfven said that the explosion of gang violence was impossible to predict and that the suburbs would have experienced the same problems anyway.
Instead, he pinned the criminal wave on “segregation” and “social injustice”. ….
…. insisting that the main problem was segregation.

“It is impossible to ethnify crime and say that it depends on being born in a certain place or having a specific skin colour or background”,
Löfven said, blaming crime on adverse socio-economic conditions, such as deficient language education and slim chances of entering the labour market, which, in turn, lead to segregation.

Despite the fact that Sweden has refrained from mapping criminals’ ethnicity since 2005 due to ethic considerations, independent reports have pointed out migrants’ over-representation in a number of crimes, including rape.
In late 2017, an independent report suggested that migrants, who by conservative estimates from Statistics Sweden constitute about a fourth of the country’s population, were severely over represented in crimes of a sexual nature, accounting for over 90 percent of rapes and gang rapes.

    https://sputniknews.com/europe/201911201077356295-swedish-pm-roasted-for-denying-link-between-immigration-crime/

So poverty and unemployment rates, also inferring that native Swede would have the same crime statistics if placed in the same conditions.
Begs so many varying question, why welcome them, if not able to accommodate, and have at least shovel ready jobs ready to go?

But no 90 days trial, rising minimum wages, living wage, makes it all so easy, yeah right. 🙁
Those questions need to be asked in NZ!
Although difficult, we have to look after our own, cut through the nonsense and get that sorted.

    • Looks like the Swedes and the Finns are finally waking up to the disaster that their socialist governments have inflicted upon them. New polls point to a surge by the Nationalist Right in both countries. We could do with a similar surge here before Ardern and her neo-marxists absolutely trash the place.

  17. When it comes to firearms and the administration of the Arms Act it is becoming increasingly evident that the police are out of control and need to be put back in their box. Here is a petition asking for the administration of the Arms Act to be given to a civilian authority. This would seem to make perfect sense because it would then allow to police to concentrate their scarce resources on their core business which is dealing with criminals not harassing law abiding licenced firearms owners.

    • With armed police out in the countryside enforcing Jacinda Arderns’ totalitarian regime, are you sure you want to sign that petition?

your name will form part of the official record of the petition and will be disclosed to the select committee that considers the petition. Your name will not be published to the parliament website but may be made available in hard-copy for public inspection

Even if they don’t come knock on your door, your name is out there for one of the violent, thuggish Lefties to follow up on.

Recall how many people lost their jobs in the wake of the Christchurch shooting for comments they made against unchecked immigration?

  18. Soon “me too” becomes “we too” with ‘great’ cultural enrichment, showing the “super-diversity” vibrancy.

Gang of 80 armed youths trash an AirBnb house before running riot on the streets of Melbourne – forcing terrified locals to hide inside their homes.
~Group of youths caused $45,000 of damage at AirBnb property in Melbourne
~Up to 80 youths were moved from the Box Hill North home on Sunday morning
~Police were called to the home about 6am after reports of a brawl at a party
…. brandishing planks of wood ……
…. ‘They [the police] had them against the fences, they were searching them. The kids were just laughing, no one was taking anything seriously.’

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7700757/Gang-nearly-100-armed-youths-storm-AirBnb-Melbourne-destroy-home.html

The police at least did attend the incident, even if a few laughs were had. 🙁
Looks like becoming the capital of “wooden paling flailing”
So just how will the courts, social agencies deal with this?
Like the above noted as above comment, per the Swedish Prime Minister? as impossible to predict? 🙁
Are the welcome signs still out?

Pages 1, 2 & 3 devoted to the visit to Waitangi by Chas & Hag. Everyone hongiing, hakaring & waiataering along with spellbinding accounts of the inanities exchanged during their walkabouts. Even that twisted old boot, Titewhai Harawira, managed to get in on the act.
