      • Did whaleoil ever pay his bill – which would have been considerable- or was it paid in kind with all the pro Winston stuff on his website.?

If so, is this a contra deal with election advertising on whaleoil via a complex pyramid of favours?
If electoral advertising does this need to be declared on returns?

        Asking for a friend.

        • The article on the topic at WhaleOil -opps! BFD reeked of deflection and bias. It did read suspiciously like Slater’s old writing style. Both these points noted on Kiwiblog discussion, which caused me to pop onto BFD for a read (something of which I do less and less). Why is the self decelared Brash Focused and Determined non-MSM in that case not curious, and compared poorly to Stuff for a sense of journalistic curiousity (!). At the very least, bad news for Winston/NZF means bad news for the Coalition, which is good news for NZ. BFD attacks on National and Nick Smith had a toxic feel to them, as well as innuendo about former NZ first staff. Trying to make a story for purposes of deflection while missing a potential elephant in the room. Plot=lost.

  1. Anything with Winston’s name on it seems to stink to high heaven Rachael.
And yet had an elderly Aunt who had no idea what day of the week it was, and would not vote for any other person during the last 25 years of her life. I suppose this formed the basis of his cheer squad !

      • Sorry to tell you but NZ First has a youth wing. Not only the elderly blue rinse brigade have been smitten by the pied piper Winston Peters.

        10

        0

        • And their youth wing is very effective, after the election graduates from the youth wing infiltrated Labour Minister’s offices in political advisor roles.

This is because, as Labour activists employed in Labour MPs offices (when in opposition) have becoming increasingly dumbed down (they are employed for their diversity and not their ability to oppose) Labour got into power and found they couldn’t organise a piss up in a brewery,

On the other hand, NZ 1st youth wing operatives are devotees of Peters and they all want to be like him, they want to wear too-sharp suits, they want to be professional and lawyerly, they want to root out all the conspiracies that Winston does, they know journalists are scum who are out to get you, public servants are fascists who just want to hide their war crimes from Winston, and they have been taught to do it by the small cadre of good political operators that stay close to Winnie.

In short, whilst they’re utterly bonkers – they have developed a degree of competence – that Labour needed in a real hurry when they were appointed against the will of the people.

But still, the whole thing NZF is a cult based on worship of Winston. Take him out and it all falls down. Jones isn’t as charismatic as Winston is, No one is. Winston is a freak, a once in a hundred year political savant. Such a shame if he decided to build his moral framework around right/wrong instead of legal/not legal – he could have been something special. Instead he has managed to exploit the most destructive of all Frankenstein political systems to serve himself way beyond what was reasonable and his legacy will be the disappearance of his cult the moment he steps away. That is why he hangs on so tenaciously – his life’s work (NZF) is a mirage – existing only because of his presence. What has he built – nothing. It’ll be as if he never existed.

          11

      • But then they are alleged to have a youth wing – is that any member under 70?

  2. Lets hope that the NZF Foundation and the almost certain conflict of interests wiht the NZPGF cause NZF to drop to 3% at the election.
But the media will have to keep the pressure on them, as Winston is very clever and often comes up with an election winner eg immigration, super bonus etc etc.

    • All part of the contagious “international socialist” UN’ical wish-list baggage.

….. including widespread nationalisation and free public services, ……
…. scrapping university fees and reducing the working week. ……..

Among the proposals, Labour said it would bring in a windfall tax on oil companies, de-list companies that do not contribute to tackling climate change and increase public sector pay by 5 percent.

“They know we will go after the tax dodgers, the bad bosses and the big polluters so that everybody in our country gets a fair chance in life,” Corbyn said.

His manifesto promised to reverse privatisations begun by former Conservative Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in the 1980s, by nationalising rail, mail, water, and BT’s broadband network to provide free internet for all.

Yes, everything sound good for the “public servants”, students, and of course only so many hours of work, many more holidays?

Wait til the international Captain’s call to pluck somethings like this out of the “international baggage”, in the name of NZ.’s “nuclear-free moment”, just like stopping the oil & gas exploration, or the Zero Carbon Act, or the FireArms Buyback with goal post changing tranches.
Judicial change, Prisoners to be released, etc., etc..
NZ to be seen as the “wellness & kindness” capital, of “we too” Captain Calls, that abide to the UN directions.

  4. The picture encapualtes what is wrong with our Govt.
We have a close to dodery old fart called a speaker renacting his childhood dream of being on the slippery slide. He and Winston are a good pair, old, cranky and in need of retirement.
But apprently Winston still wants to be king and his lawyer beleives it is his job to make him one. Of course he currently has a mad queen to help him out.
Hooton suggests that The Mad Queen should cause the bandit to explain himself but the points out that this could cause her to have to do the same.
The question must surley be, what does the lawyer get from this arrangement with Peters or does the lawyer pull Peters strings?
Indeed what do we know about him other than he is not a nice person to deal with.

Doesn’t say much for Kiwi’s abnility to govern themselves, does it?

China Ramps Up Coal Power Despite Emission Pledges
China is set to add new coal-fired power plants equivalent to the EU’s entire capacity, as the world’s biggest energy consumer ignores global pressure to rein in carbon emissions in its bid to boost a slowing economy.

Across the country, 148GW of coal-fired plants are either being built or are about to begin construction, according to a report from Global Energy Monitor, a non-profit group that monitors coal stations. The current capacity of the entire EU coal fleet is 149GW.

While the rest of the world has been largely reducing coal-powered capacity over the past two years, China is building so much coal power that it more than offsets the decline elsewhere.

Ted Nace, head of Global Energy Monitor, said the new coal plants would have a significant impact on China’s already-increasing carbon emissions.

“What is being built in China is single-handedly turning what would be the beginning of the decline of coal, into the continued growth of coal,” he said, adding that China was “swamping” global progress in bringing down emissions.

Concerns over air pollution and over-investment in coal prompted China to suspend the construction of hundreds of coal stations in 2016.

But many have since been <b restarted, as Beijing seeks to stimulate an economy growing at its slowest pace since the early 1990s.
        ————–
        [From the first comment]
….. “Belt & Road Initiative,” China is going to continue to build HUNDREDS of coal fired power plants in the coming decade(s). …..
…. emissions technologies do not compare to western environmental standards on ANY coal generation station they design & build. ….
… India, Indonesia & others are going to continue to construct coal plants as they provide affordable electricity & industrial heat to grow their economies and lift millions of their citizens out of abject poverty . ….

        https://climatechangedispatch.com/china-ramps-coal-power/

Those coal fired power stations, will never be mothballed, and will be run and be maintained for the longest time that can be got out of their life time.
That is long past 2030 or 2050 or whenever global UN’ ical plans of banning carbon emissions.

Not allowing Western Countries to compete, and build coal fire stations, means that China has that market to itself, and only uses its standards of emission controls, that is what it can get away with.
        “Unintended consequences” 🙁

  8. Arms dealer who says he sold ammo to accused mosque shooter says gun restrictions ‘effectively destroyed’ business
    https://www.tvnz.co.nz/one-news/new-zealand/arms-dealer-says-he-sold-ammo-accused-mosque-shooter-gun-restrictions-effectively-destroyed-business

“Lawful firearms owners have strongly criticised the Bill, saying it will not make New Zealand any safer, with one of their main arguments being that criminals most likely to commit gun crime are unlikely to be lawful owners who abide by the rules.

Yesterday, Paul McNeill, owner of Aoraki Ammunition Company, made a submission to the Committee in which he said “since the attack, our business has been effectively destroyed by the changing legislation.

“We have stock we can not sell, ammunition that is now prohibited, and assets that are now worthless,” Mr McNeill said in his written submission.

“The latest legislation is poorly thought out and will not assist with reducing the likelihood of a repeat offence.”

    • And the chairwoman who should have recused herself on the grounds of conflict of interest (family ties to a known anti gun extremist and previous admitted bias against firearms owners) shut him up right quick didn’t she when he tried to speak to his submission as is his right. Disgraceful. The speed with which the government is pushing this travesty seems to indicate that the Royal Commission, when it eventually reports, is going to be very damning of both the police incompetence and the government’s involvement in gutting the previously very sound procedure for vetting and licencing the law abiding who jump through all the hoops to own and use guns legally and safely.

      14

The party leader praises the question & explains for a few minutes why it is such a good question. 13. NZ has its own version of “collateral damage” with in some political parties, whose goal is to spread this nationally.

….. During the debate, Jomshof reads several newspaper headlines aloud which include: “112 children have been robbed in Gothenburg’, ’50 youths hold Växjö city hostage’, ” Misst group rape in Stockholm ”.

“This is just a small selection that clearly shows what the policy that Morgan Johansson represents – and what it has led to,” Jomshof states. To which the Social Democrat Justice Minister replied under his breath, “for me it doesn’t matter”. ……

Morgan Johansson’s words are indicative of his utter disdain for working and middle-class Swedes who’ve been forced to deal with the real-world consequences of his party’s reckless policies. …..
    https://voiceofeurope.com/2019/11/swedish-minister-of-justice-on-increased-violent-crime-due-to-migration-it-doesnt-matter-to-me/

Sounds like a brotherhood of Minister of Justice’s, a good friend of Angry Andrew Little.

Recall I posted yesterday about the Swedish Prime Minister, Stefan Löfven has claimed that there is no link between the high number of migrants the country has taken in recent years and the rising problem of gang violence.

So NZ is taking baby steps, but will soon be well practiced for how it will work in with its ‘big sister’ Sweden with its international social UN’istic Pacts.

Swedish opposition is building, it is from a low number, and seems to be around a quarter to a third, a long way to majority control, that then could if has the guts, to start draining its swamp.

  14. As promised here is the obviously personal email I got back from Meka Whaiteri when I queried her about the increasing numbers of people on the job seekers 15,000 then 20,000

It was quite a nice email, she even accused me of being outdated and racist but at the end she wished me well.

Tena koe Mr Menzies (not my real name as I did not want Kea and the Goon squad coming up my drive)

It is unfortunate the racist and ill informed underbelly of NZ society reveals itself whenever care and tolerance is accorded to those unable to speak for themselves or whenever equity policies are shown to all.

The Coalition government is a kind and compassionate govt. One I’m proud to be part of. One also elected in by the NZ public who in late 2017 voted for change.

Next year the NZ public will get their chance again and we will go to the polls putting our record on the line of reducing govt debt, lifting wages, increasing export growth, lowest unemployment ever and producing a surplus; all whilst showing care and compassion to those needing our help – through increases in family assistance and the minimum wage; building more state homes and helping young people into education, training or employment to name but a few.

Your comments in your email below is both tired and dated. You and I whether we like it or not are benefactors of govt subsidies be it on our health, education, policing, transport, superannuation, agriculture, exporting systems etc. So if our well-being is based on govt subsidy then while the spiteful hate and discomfort when it is applied to all?

Like the Prime Minister my intention is to create tolerance and equity but your email below shows you are incapable of either.

This government has focused on moral grandstanding while the circumstances of the less fortunate have declined.

They have perpetuated a devisive culture of envy, fear, hate and racism.

They are moral and intellectual cripples who care for nothing beyond their desire to control others by force.

    Also some associated contenders.
    https://www.michaelsmithnews.com/2019/11/oxford-dictionary-declares-climate-emergency-the-2019-word-of-the-year.html

2 weeks ago Collins Dictionary named “Climate Strike”
Well I guess it meant that the rain was not going to happen.
Or was it that sun would go on strike, is that because it got shoved some where, where it does not shine.? Talk about a “burn out” or a ‘bummer’.

  17. Wondering if this is true or fake news.

Did Winston Peters, give this guy a few tips, or was it the other way around when they possibly meet up in Istanbul, Turkey (18 May 2018) for the the 7th Extraordinary Islamic Summit Conference of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, after the Christchurch Shooting.
Like we know Winston did sleep at the meetings, and was the Iraqi Defence Minister there?

Iraqi Defense Minister Najah al-Shammari is a Swedish citizen with a criminal record while enjoying years of benefits in Sweden for an alleged “memory problems”.
    http://www.basnews.com/index.php/en/news/iraq/562307

Swedish right-wing media reports, Al-Shammari is a dual Iraqi-Swedish citizen and is currently listed as a Swedish resident and on disability allowance.

With interesting discussion in the comments, questioning the credibility of the paper, but also showing it does it homework.

Is you choke someone until they go limp, and hold the strangle/starve the brain, then that is manslaughter at the very least and homicide easily. It doesnt take much to kill – hence the expression “Tap, Snap or Nap”Any longer – Death. Intent doesn’t come into it when someone is limp and on their way to being a corpse. And then this sicko when and watched some porn on his device, then went on another hook up and complained about his ‘hypothetical’ such as hiding corpses, and a life ruining through a once-off mistake. In the meantime, Grace’s dead body with blood and foam at the mouth lay beside his bed and he was up for a little slap and tickle. Not a human needing sympathy by any measure.

Then had sex with the corpses of his victims before they decayed enough to put him off. he returned to them, but only for self gratification. His ‘charm’ was not a defence. You seem to have very odd idea of extenuating circumstances or why a person might be deserving of sympathy. Grace’s killer didn’t call 111. He jerked off, then went to see another hook up. Not a pin up for injustice.

          • From what I’ve read manslaughter would have been a more appropriate verdict. Strangulation caused the death of another person but as Kea has stated it is difficult to imagine that he intended to kill her.

                  • Comparing this to ‘sitting on a face ‘shows you must either be mentally deficient or trolling. The victim would have been restrained, and airway and/or blood supply choked off. If I closed my hands on your throat, you would not lie back and take it? It is an unconscious panic reaction to fight suffocation. Like drowning. So if I pin your arms and choke you until your eyes shrink to pin pricks, then that it just an accident. And if I cum on your face – that’s OK too? as long as you consented to a bit of rough? Please think about just how stupid you sound. Not sure what sort of ideological point you are coming from.

Carry on with the outrage Olympics.

I will focus on having a proper legal system rather than a lynch mob.

              • To compare this Peter Ellis, and the climate of satanic ritual abuse in the late 80’s, and the fact Peter DIDN’T DO IT – more to the point, suggests you are incapable of moral or philosophical equivalencies.

              • The US system of
                Murder 1 and Murder 2
                plus Manslaughter 1
                and Manslaughter 2
                are better delineation.

The irony here is that 50 years ago there were a lot of manslaughter convictions as a political ploy to keep murder numbers down.

What David Tamihere did to the women in 1972 was murder- more so that the Millane case.
He sought the women out and bashed her to death.
                This was convicted as manslaughter.
It was murder by today’s standards.

The cops push for murder and if anyone has seen the 1980 movie on the Crewe murders or read the Yallop book it was based on knows the cops had a van outside court where they pushed their unbiased case very forcefully.

NZ has a lot of unsafe convictions and the cops NEVER back down.
                Peter Ellis RIP
Teina Pora – and he was a bad bastard.

      • You need to PROVE INTENT for a finding of murder.

It was not proven and the decision was based on emotion and a desire to punish the nasty pervert.

        It was manslaughter at most.

  21. John Armstrong’s opinion: Ardern’s making a royal hash of distancing herself from Peters and NZ First drama

    https://www.tvnz.co.nz/one-news/new-zealand/john-armstrongs-opinion-arderns-making-royal-hash-distancing-herself-peters-and-nz-first-drama?auto=6106948403001

“Ensuring Labour’s most valuable, nay priceless electoral weapon does not suffer serious collateral damage from the furore over party donations and expenses in which Winston Peters has become embroiled is Labour’s current priority first and foremost.

It is the bottom-line of all bottom-lines.

That said, Ardern is making a right royal hash of putting distance between herself and Peters.”

“Her claim that she and the leader of New Zealand First did not do joint stand-up press conferences was exposed as bogus thanks to 1 NEWS taking the trouble to look through its library files of film clips.

It turned out that there was no shortage of examples of Ardern and Peters alongside one another responding to questions posed by journalists.

Ardern was relying on nobody bothering to check the veracity of what she had said.

She was caught out. It is not the first time she has deliberately distorted the truth in such fashion in confident expectation that she would get away with such deception.

And it won’t be the last. Sooner or later, she is going to come an awful cropper.”

  22. Received
    by the Australian Passport Office.

    Dear Sirs,

I’m in the process of renewing my passport, and still cannot believe
how is it that the Pay Television people have my address and
telephone number and know that I bought a bleeding satellite dish
from them back in 1998 and yet, the Government is still asking me
where I was bloody born and on what
    date?

Do you guys do this by hand?
It’s on all the income tax forms I’ve filed for the past 50
    years.
It is on my Medicare card.
    My driving licence.
    My car insurance.
On the last two damn passports I’ve had.
It’s on all those stupid customs declaration forms I’ve had to fill out
before being allowed off the plane over the last 30 years.
    All those insufferable census forms.

Would somebody please take note, once and for all, that my mother’s name is Phyllis May, my father’s name is
Harry and I’d be absolutely astounded if that WOULD ever change between now and when I die!!

I apologise, I’m really pissed off this morning.
Between you an’ me, I’ve had enough of this bullshit!

You send the application to my house, then you ask me for my bleeding address!!
What is going on? Do you have a gang of neanderthal arseholes workin’ there?

    Look at my damn picture.
Do I look like Bin Laden?
I don’t want to dig up Yasser Arafat, for shit sakes. I just want to go and park my arse on some sandy beach
    somewhere.

And would someone please tell me, why would you give a shit whether I plan on visiting a farm in the next
    15 days?

If I ever got the urge to do something wierd to a chicken or a goat, believe you me, you’d be the last
    people I’d want to tell!

Well, I have to go now,’cause I have to go to the other end of the poxy city to get another copy of
my birth certificate, to the tune of $50.00

Would it be so complicated to have all the services in the same spot to assist in the issuance of a new
    passport the same day?

Nooooooooooooo, that’d be too damn easy and maybe make sense.

You’d rather have us running all over the place like chickens with our heads cut off, then WE have to
find some arsehole to confirm that it’s really me on the damn picture –
ou know, the one where we’re not allowed to smile?!
    (bureaucratic morons)

Hey, do you know why we couldn’t smile if we wanted to?
    Because we’re totally pissed off!

    Signed
    An Irate Citizen

P.S. Remember what I said above about the picture and getting someone to confirm that it’s
    me?
Well, my family has been in this country since the First Fleet arrived
My Father served in the military during world War 11
He flew missions out of Australia but never needed a Passport!!

However, I have to get someone ‘important’ to verify who I am – you know, someone like my doctor
    ..

WHO WAS BORN AND RAISED IN PAKISTAN!

  23. Auckland man who distributed child sex abuse imagery jailed
    https://www.tvnz.co.nz/one-news/new-zealand/auckland-man-distributed-child-sex-abuse-imagery-jailed?auto=0

“An Auckland man has been sentenced to more than two years in prison after knowingly possessing and distributing child sex abuse and exploitation imagery.

Richard Thomas King, 52, from Avondale, was sentenced to two years and five months’ imprisonment in the Auckland District Court today after pleading guilty to two charges of possession of child sexual abuse images, and two charges of making a copy of child sexual abuse images for the purpose of distribution, the Department of Internal Affairs said in a statement.

King was also ordered by the court to register as a child sex offender.”

They must really believe they won’t get caught.

  24. Tired of living from Super day to Super day? Is the circular delivery round getting you down? Then we have the answer……start a religion & make some real coin. (hat-tip Brian & Hannah):

Take a few hundred gullible fools then force feed them with a load of drivel about eternal life. For this you will need to invent a God….the one common element in any religion is some version of a higher power. It’s not you. If it is you, that’s not religion, that’s psychosis & anyway you’ll be left with no one to pass the buck to when things go tits up.

Next create or affirm your own rituals. A set of sacred rituals is the structure of religion. Prayer, hymns, animal sacrifice will do for starters & if you’re modelling on the Catholic example then for God’s sake get a decent dressmaker.

Then do some basic research on who you’re targeting: e.g., lost but loyal do-gooders, middle-aged questioners, or handsome blonde pre-teen boys.Check on Trade Me for large ornate buckets to collect the money & open a bank account.

There’s a bit more to it but that will get you started. 🙂

  27. Yeah but why did you feel the need to point that out?

It was just a sex accident. If she gave him an STD would you have suggested she be charged with grievous bodily harm?

There are certain legal criteria required to support a murder charge. Those criteria were not met in this case.
