We have a number of unused television channels in NZ – some used to allow citizens 15 minutes on their own subjects and there were some interesting hobbies discussed (and some truly dire quarter hours too). The Universities should band together and have those who apply for funding read their dissertations on air. Audience total determines the amount of funding provided.
Would definitely improve the work done in universities and probably also cull those who have no clue what they’re doing.
