  1. Perfect example of why Little and his hate speech laws need to disappear down the bottom of Pike River mine…

    https://www.stuff.co.nz/national/112386350/divisive-group-of-haters-in-hobsons-pledge-must-be-investigated-mori-council-says

Whats more racist? A large chunk of the population that want equality and one standard/law/handouts for all New Zealanders, nothing more, nothing less? Or a minority group of professional victims that want to keep their tax payer funded ATM and sepreatist/elitist standing and rule/decision making powers that make them more important compared to the rest of New Zealand and a law unto themselves?

    • A race-based group of racists are asking the HRC (A very iffy as far as racial bias group indeed) to investigate a group who demand equal rights for all no matter what race they are?

      No wonder humorists are struggling.

        • Haters, they only need to look in their own backyard. Hannah Jackson ” Kill a white and die a hero “…Margaret Mutu..too many to list…John Harawira ” I would never let my daughter date a Pakeha” ..feel free to add.

  2. Morning all.

I see that the Maori Council (a council of puffed up losers by the way, who seem to have a tit to suck), is now attacking old white men with a different interpretation to how NZ should be.

“A leading Māori organization says the lobby group Hobson’s Pledge is inciting racism and violence.

The New Zealand Māori Council said on Wednesday it had asked the Human Rights Commission (HRC) to investigate the group, which is led by former National Party and Act leader Don Brash.

Hobson’s Pledge was formed in 2016 and campaigns against what it says is preferential treatment given to Māori.”

there could be nothing more racist than a group of people denoted by their colour and ethnic background attacking anther group that is actually advocating for a non racist view of NZer’s.

The human rights commission now of course has to chart its course and we will see if in fact it is blind to race, creed and colour as it should be.

It won’t be too hard to guess its behavoir even now.

  3. Thought I would read THE NEWS.
    Went of to granny Herald.
Well I could read about the rugby,(must not upset the sponsors),lotto, (ditto), you can buy a house, and of course all about the Simon and Judith thing.
Everything else including all the gossip crap and mindless millennial garbage is now considered premium.
Problem is its the same crap they have produced for years and gave away so we would indulge in their mindless rubbish. Now you can pay for your rubbish.
    Sounds like the city council.
Will smeone let me know when they employ a lot better jouno’s please.

      • I didn’t realise the Internet was that old!

        To quote Mark Twain

If you don’t read the newspaper, you’re uninformed. If you read the newspaper, you’re mis-informed.

And of course the Pulitzer Prize winning, Walter Duranty (New York Times) with his hagiography of Joseph Stain during the widespread famine and mass starvations.

Even the “Most trusted man in America” wasn’t above giving his opinion (i.e. lying) when it suited him (Walter Cronkite).

No, journalists have been lying or telling half-truths to the public for centuries.

  4. Those facing charges for sharing the CHCH shooters live stream face up to 14yrs in prison for their crime (which wasn’t a crime at the time of the offending..)

then this in regards to the gang related shooting at an Auckland Harley Davidson store….
“A 39-year-old man, Akustino Tae, was charged with attempted murder when he appeared at Manukau District Court last Friday. He faces a maximum imprisonment term of 14 years if found guilty.”

Share a film vs attempted murder….?

But manslaughter = home detention…. Oh what a country we’ve created

  5. You can vote your way into socialism, but you have to shoot your way out of it.

Media collusion to censor Christchurch mosque shooter trial is understandable… and deeply sinister
    https://www.rt.com/op-ed/458067-christchurch-shooter-trial-nz-media-protocol/

The New Zealand media evidently holds the public in such dubious regard that it believes that we could not be trusted to make up our own minds on the merits of an ideology propagated by a mentally unbalanced fitness trainer who committed one of the least-justifiable acts of violence against innocents in recent memory.

In true socialist fashion, Jacinda is not going to let a chance go by to curtail public freedoms.

I dont agree one bit with the guys actions, and he deserves what ever punishment is handed down, but the man still has the right to a fair trial and not an inside stitch up job by the govt….

      Shady as fuck!

      • and I suggest we have a right to the truth, not a sanitized version according to a few poxy editors who simply want to place it behind a paywall. See my first post this morning to where that leads.

        0

        0

        • In the words of Jack Nicholson: “You want the truth? You can’t handle the truth!”

Truly, I believe Cindy and co think the public are children who need protecting from the boogie man. Surely, the judge can stop Tarrant grandstanding in court, and throw of out court any of his supporters who make a nuisance of themselves. This is one of the biggest trial NZ has ever had and it should be open and transparent to all.

          0

          0

        • The editors will only be messengers, as to what dear leader wants all her comrades to read and think…..

I did catch a headline somewhere earlier that said an upside to the paywall is less socialist garbage being available to the masses now a majority of it will be hidden behind the paywall!

But to contradict that at the same time, the smearald has ‘Pike River re-entry: Everything you need to know’ but because its hidden behind the paywall then less people will realise its a $40m election ad for liebor and no one is still actually going into the mine…

          0

          0

          • Apparently entry “might not happen until Christmas”. Cindy and co are going down for the 3 miners to take their first steps into the drift, and to have a mix and mingle dinner with the Pike River families who wish to thank the govt for what they have done. That would be nothing, except talk about going in, at this point

            • Labour’s minstrels though just getting elected would somehow make the mine safe to enter all of a sudden. Another photo op and more lies. That’s all we can expect until at least the next election!

  6. Farmers criticised for scales and hair removal gadgets in Mother’s Day brochure
    https://www.stuff.co.nz/business/112365811/farmers-criticised-for-scales-and-hair-removal-gadgets-in-mothers-day-brochure
“Alexis McCullough called it a “terrible move” that reminded mothers their “value is intrinsically tied to their appearance, based on normative beauty ideals”.

Another one from the “I’m a lunatic” file with some people on Facebook getting outraged about some non descript advertising pamphlet.
These people are so sad they would probably object if they advertised dresses as they perpetrate “gender stereotypes” or some other imaginary nonsense.
Give them all broomsticks if you ask me.

  8. Students Association backs complaints about racism at Auckland University
    https://www.radionz.co.nz/news/national/388253/students-association-backs-complaints-about-racism-at-auckland-university
“Students and staff have met to discuss their fears as well as other harassment, bullying and discrimination”.
“About 80 people packed into the Waipapa Marae at Auckland University yesterday”.

So apparently Auckland University has a white supremacy problem so students and sympathetic staff hold a meeting at a totally neutral venue such as a “marae” where the participants get to feed into each others paranoia with stories of suffering.
Well let’s look at some numbers here.
Total role of Auckland University = about 42000
Number who attended meeting = about 80
% who think there is a problem = o.2% of students

I think on these numbers the vice chancellors description of it being utter nonsense is pretty spot on.
Maybe the best remedy is to refer these 80 people to the mental health services.

  9. Taupō crash: Thousands expected at tangi for seven family members
    https://www.radionz.co.nz/news/national/388243/taupo-crash-thousands-expected-at-tangi-for-seven-family-members
So the grief porn circus keeps rolling on with this syrupy article all about the dead whanau.
Probably a good time to remember the forgotten person in all of this whose family is hurting every little bit as much if not more given she was just quietly driving home when the whanau’s vehicle crossed the centre line taking her life.
No Givealittle pages being publicised for her or public outpourings of grief.
Her name was Jenny Rodgers (51) and even if it seems the media have relegated you to a footnote others including myself have not and think you deserve much better than this.

    • The same for the bulk of the Pike River families who will not meet with the PM tonight. Ridiculous that what’s his face Gower should mention the families who do not get a mention who do not support reentry, you are the problem Gower, have you even gone and asked them?

    • I am very pissed off concerning the media’s treatment of the innocent party in this fatal.. it is no secret that one vehicle crossed the centre line and it was not hers.

I know the offending party paid a terrible price for their actions however it must not be forgotten they took out an innocent person.

RIP Jenny Rodgers – I agree with Stars & Stripes you deserve much better.

  10. Extract from my daily Forex summary –
    NZD – New Zealand Dollar
The New Zealand dollar was dragged lower on Wednesday morning following a poor employment figure for the first quarter of 2019. Opening the morning at 0.6670, the Kiwi saw downside movements to an intraday low of 0.6625. The main data release saw the number of jobs drop by 0.2% following the expectations of a 0.5% increase. Seasonally adjusted unemployment rates dropped to 4.2%, down from 4.3% in line with expectations.
With a slowdown in growth expectations and subdued jobs data, there is now a 65% chance that the RBNZ next move will be a rate cut at next weeks monetary policy meeting in line with their change to a dovish stance.
From a technical perspective, the Kiwi currently trading at 0.6620. We continue to expect support to hold on moves approaching 0.6580 while now any upward push will likely meet resistance at 0.6700.

Looks like the COLL policies are now bearing fruit of the lift descending slowly at first then quickly, a bit like Mark Twains comment on Bankruptcy – begins slowly at first then happens quickly. Aoteazuela here we come.

    • It’s interesting that unemployment is still low, even though job numbers have dropped. I don’t quite know what to make of that.

We do have a slowing economy, which isn’t helping matters. Does anybody know where business confidence sits?

      0

      0

      • Heard a report a couple of days ago that business and everyone else had battened down the hatches over uncertainty caused by waiting so long for the CFT announcement. No more certainty now with COL’s Well Being budget to be announced on 30th. Hold onto your hats, it’s going to be a rough ride.

  11. South Auckland shootings raise fears in community – mayor
    https://www.radionz.co.nz/news/national/388268/south-auckland-shootings-raise-fears-in-community-mayor
“The mayor of Auckland is calling for greater police resources to bolster the fight against gangs in South Auckland.”.

So we bring in poor uneducated immigrants from the Islands who end up living in ghettos who then turn to crime and gang warfare to occupy themselves and then we apparently need to add more police resources to contain the diversity.
The immigration system is so broken in this country it is ridiculous.
Most groups of immigrants come here and need no extra taxpayer resources to be directed towards them and then we have other groups who just require constant extra help for everything yet apparently the govt tells us this is for the benefit of NZ.
    Total crap.
