  1. Surely I cannot be the first of the day? Hope you all have a great day and the sun shines and this bloody global warming buggers off. This heat is ridiculous. Ah that’s right its all in Australia and that is why we are getting the cold now. You can’t win can you. Climate emergency, its cold, been wet and windy and its supposed to be summer, is that an emmergency ?

  2. ‘Harm done to all’ in Labour sex assault inquiry, this from a Prime Minister that prides herself on Mental Health and what she is doing to help the situation. Well instead of looking after those in need she has probably increased the number of those fragile people that it affects in different ways with whitewash by Maria Dews QC and herself by shifting the blame to the victims.

How many times has this happened over the last few years a glaring example is Darren Hughes, but Labour think it is better swept under the carpet than to tell the truth.

    • But look ater the party at all cost, so the members can abuse another day!
She doesn’t mind having her own pervert in her office.
She’s an equal oppertunity employer, just not for females!

      • Jacinda had no intention of fixing this assault it was all about restricting the damage and silencing the victims to save her image, our Prime Minister is politically corrupt and only thinks of herself. I do not hope or want to see this happen but what if one of these victims takes there own life which can happen in these circumstances will she admit it comes from the whitewash they have done from this enquiry just to stop her career being tarnished or will she cry and hug people and push the blame elsewhere.

    • This doesn’t pass the sniff test. From what little I’ve heard of the report it talks of the holes in the “main” complainant’s story. If this is really the case then they would have known this before they allowed two prominent resignations. Also what about the other complainants? I think they’ve made a mistake thinking they can kick this down the road and expect it to go away over the holidays. Unless they’ve managed to pay out all concerned, which I would think unlikely.

      • The Labour Party coerced confidentiality agreements out of them. They can’t talk about what happened to them anymore, I suspect.

The Jacinda Ardern led Labour Party has managed to bury sexual abuse not once, not twice, but a total of seventeen times. The 12 women in this complaint plus the 5 from the youth camp. It looks as if they may have used compliant, Labour friendly judges to get the outcomes they want.

And what bothers me even more is that the “champions” of women and abused people, the likes of Alison Mau and the #wetoo movement, are remaining silent on this and condoning the sexual assault of young men and women as well as those in the Labour Party headquarters.

You’d think that common decency would see them at least comment on it. But no, if it serves the Labour Party they will condone anything.

        • The signing (under duress???) of a confidentiality agreement (? payment or promises) the release only of the executive summary and the continuing confirmation by the complainants, the resignation of the alleged offender and the president all indicate that ardern wants the report to remain secret probably because there are elements within the report that would throw doubt on the veracity and therefore biased like the judge in the other labour sex scandal. Both issues have a stench that can be smelt in London.

    • Well done to Spinoff for following up on this and allowing the complainants to say what they thought of the report.

But I cannot understand why the women (or at least some of them) did not refuse to sign the confidentiality agreement. I hope everyone who knows these women gives them all the support they obviously know and above all gets them well away from the Labour Party.

      • Credit to the Spinoff on some topics.
(Bit of thread jack here; mea culpa)

Spinoff published an honest assessment (in 2017) of that dribbling wee shit called Martin Matthews who was more than likely compromised at the Ministry of Transport when he was CEO and Joanne Harrison stole taxpayers’ money.
This idiot told the Australian Federal Police to bugger off when they had valid inquiries of fraud.
The AFP don’t exactly chase overdue library books or traffic tickets. They co-operate with authorities esp in Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia. But in NZ they got the brush off from Matthews, the fraudster-protecting goombah.
Another reason for Australia to look at us as the backward hicks.
NZ really has been chasing the 1980s Cook Island Corruption Status in recent years.
Matthews allowed staff to get fired when …they were being honest….and this prick wanted to be Auditor General.

Martin Matthews was just pissing around there not earning his tax paid salary because he was waiting to fill dead men’s shoes as Auditor General – the job he felt he deserved.
        https://thespinoff.co.nz/politics/21-07-2017/the-ministry-of-transport-fraud-case-why-the-rot-goes-deeper-than-joanne-harrison/

I noticed the scum suckers from Stuff were doing a charm offensive last week on behalf of Martin Matthews.
I wonder what the trade off for that piece was. Favours would have been exchanged in their already crooked back-scratching world. It is no effort for Stuff to tell lies. They do it every day.

    • I am sick & tired of our prime minister with her “fuck you jack I’m ok” attitude.

She cares little for the needy and is a disgrace to the position of Prime Minister that was not earned but gifted to her by Mr 7%.

She runs a very corrupt Government.

    • I just got a reply back from Meredith Connell who said there was little interest in the case and they will not appeal. This is outragious as they had not read the doggy judge’s sentencing notes – at least not properly. I asked then a question about the offender being a Muslim. They responded that they had no idea of the offender’s religion. The judge mentioned the fact that the offender was a Muslim so they had not read the sentencing notes. I wonder if I can complain to the law society.

  3. 18th December 2019

    Rt Hon. Jacinda Ardern,
    Prime Minister,
    Parliament Buildings,
    Wellington

    Dear Prime Minister,

You are reported (“Newshub”, 18 Dec. 2019) as saying “Using ‘Aotearoa’ and ‘New Zealand’ together is ‘as it should be’”.
1 Are you aware that nowhere in the Treaty of Waitangi does the word “Aotearoa” occur?
    2. Are you aware that nowhere in the words of the chiefs who spoke at Waitangi on 5th and 6th February 1840 does the word “Aotearoa” occur?
    3. Are you aware that in the Treaty of Waitangi the name of our country is “Nu Tirani”, clearly a transliteration of “New Zealand”?
    4. Do you agree that, as “Tomorrow’s Schools Review Taskforce” states, inter alia: “Treaty of Waitangi and the rights of children must be at the heart of the system.” that the name of our country which appears in the Treaty is the only proper one to use in the classroom in lessons about it?
    5. Are you aware that in official documents in Maori, certainly as late as the 1940s, the name “Niu Tireni”, a somewhat more accurate transliteration, was used?
    6. Are you aware that this is the form of the name generally used by speakers of Maori for most of the 19th and 20th centuries?
    7. Are you aware that “Aotearoa” was historically only one of several Maori names for the North Island alone?
    8. Are you aware that while it may have been used very occasionally elsewhere, it was in the 1890s that a couple of romantic Englishmen, SP Smith and WP Reeves, presented “Aotearoa” as a name for our country, the latter used it only as a subtitle for his book ”The Long White Cloud”?
    9. Are you aware that in the text of the latter “Ao-Tea-Roa” occurs only once and that is in a footnote in page 25? (This is so, as far as I can ascertain.)

In the light of the foregoing, do you agree that promulgating “Aotearoa” as a name for our country is inappropriate? Will you please inform me of the steps which you will take publicly to remedy the current anomalous situation?

I acknowledge the demands of the current season and convey to you my greetings for it.
    Yours sincerely,
    Bruce Moon

    • Waste of time. It assumes Ardern has any sort of “awareness”. It should be blatantly obvious that she has none on any matter of substance or meaning outside that of the woke or populist. She’s a disgrace to New Zealand and should resign.

      22

      0

      • Not really, becuase many people have been sucked in by the untruths and the truth needs to be told.
And that is what Moon is telling.
The more people who read this the better.
So share ot out and perhaps the tide against non Maori Kiwi’s will get rolled back just a little.
Raise the questions in peoples minds.

    • The silly thing is that hardly anyone was asking for name change.
Its just the sickening news media and woke organizations like Breast cancer that started it.
I will never ever use the word live in the rest of my life.

  4. Another example of the CoL’s war on men

Toxic socialism is trying to kill as many men as possible, in another staggering example of how deeply musandryist the government is, just have a look at the road toll in 2019.

    Female dead = 230
    Male dead = 105

Applying the same level of feminist logic as is applied to the gender pay argument, you can’t argue with the stats, Cindy is killing men.

  5. Soldier’s arrest raises concerns far-right could infiltrate Defence Force
A soldier has been arrested at Linton Military camp, amid suspicion they are part of a far-right extremist group.
    https://www.tvnz.co.nz/one-news/new-zealand/soldiers-arrest-raises-concerns-far-right-could-infiltrate-defence-force

“The Defence Force has yet to confirm what, if any charges the soldier is facing.

But the arrest has raised concerns far-right groups could be infiltrating New Zealand’s military.

The extremist, Christian body-building group, Wargus Christi had claimed online that the arrested soldier was part of their organisation.”

Is this individual a threat to the security of NZ? Are individuals being arrested for their belief and thoughts now? Where is the crime in belonging to a group who believe in their god? What is the background of this group or is stating he is White Supremacists enough to finish someone’s career?

    13

    0

      • It’s a classic tactic of an authoritarian regime (both on the left and on the right) to create an ‘enemy’ where none exists as a tool to control the proletariat. The regime which has siezed control of NZ is now displaying the early stages of a Marxist/Fascist dictatorship where people can be arrested simply because of their opinions.

I doubt if there is any actual ‘far right extremist group’ yet in New Zealand….. but this sort of shit makes the scenario more likely every time it happens. Watch out. it’s not going to be pretty when it comes.

        14

        0

        • Footnote: In the absence of any real ‘right wing extremist’ threat, the Ardern gang might manufacture one for next year’s election. Maybe a shooting at a synagogue or a bomb in a school around August? Hmm…… maybe too extreme. Just a threat might do the trick. Watch this space.

        • Hang on there a second Dave. Our great shining light of leadership and empathy – St Jacinda – hasn’t done anything of the kind, oh shit! wait well she hasn’t if you ignore:
          – white supremacists
          – islamophobes
          – landlords
          – rich pricks
          – stale pale males

          – females in their own party
          – Trump
          – Australians who don’t want Manus Island crims to be sent over here only to slip into Australia

      • The reporter seeking comment from Valerie Morse gives the piece little credibility from my perspective. In response to her reported view; I see the driver of any antipathy against a group or ideology generally follows behaviour and actions by associates and participants in the group or followers of the ideology.

        9

      • Valerie Morse commenting on the story. Why spread her hysterical personal theories over our media?
“”The whole mindset of the military has effectively been about criminalising muslims for at least the last 20 years. And so we shouldn’t be surprised then that this is the kind of ideology, this is acceptable ideology within the New Zealand Defence Force,”
        Bollocks.
The NZ Army is not some sort of Aryan Brotherhood.
Many of the NCOs are Maori. Not a place for a neo-Nazi to flock too in my mind.

The NZ Army spent more time and effort building schools and bridges (Afghanistan), or training Muslims (Iraq), than it ever did shooting at Muslims.
Valarie is a fucking fantasist who deserves no media-oxygen.
Prof. Spoonley is a peddler of bullshit who has found his niche is recent times due to the amount of times the topic of white supremacy comes up.
We don’t know what the police came and nabbed the solider for anyway. What he materially might have done is probably more of import than his social media history. we don’t even know if he was charged or will be charged with anything.

“Activist group Auckland Peace Action said infiltration through defence and police forces was a common and proven tactic for right wing groups.

      13

      • The police won’t actively welcome Muslims into the force. The police have been taken over by tattooed Maoris who look like gang members and girls fresh out of school who couldn’t get a job in an office. Muslims wouldn’t fit into their tribe.

Sikh turbans seem to be respected, even if it is a Samoan wearing it. 🙂
        https://www.samoaobserver.ws/category/world/15712

Muslim prayer times would be respected?
Special wash rooms for “wudu” plus prayer rooms to be built or commandeered.

Haram food would not be served. Only halal food served.
Already approved for all New Zealand prisons.
        https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=10602130

Muslim festivals, like Ramadan would be slotted in allowed for, like fasting during day light, so pre-sunrise breakfasts, & after sunset meals.
Haji pilgrimage will soon be on a paid leave.
The muslim Shia festival of Ashura, which is gives about a day of bloody flagellating.
So what if a fundamentalist Christian is into self flagellating?

I am sure many other things are being slotted in, and accepted as a cultural norm, and being diverse, with great vibrancy with colour in this ‘drab’ so called white weary world. All of this being pushed for through many of our institutions, pushed by academia, judiciary, media, politicians,
As the laws are adjusted for a bit of culture like ‘honor killing’ and supposedly to stop female genital mutilation fgm, A lot of noise, and a special Act put in place, but how will the judges apply the law? sentence?

  6. Interesting figures. A cut and paste of a post on the The Gateway Pundit

    “Think about this:
FISA has only been in existence since 1978.
About 44,000 FISA warrants have been requested over 40 years.
The Ocriminal admin requested 10,700 of them! ”

Meanwhile President Trump has raised US$25+ million from 600,000 new donors since the Democrats got the latest impeachment effort underway.

    • Devan Nunes team gave the FISA judge a heads-up two and a half years ago that she was being mislead, and only now she decides to say anything…Covering her ass in response to the Horowitz Report. Who knows, she might even have been complicit in the coup attempt.

      • Everyone is saying the Horowitz report is “tame” because he could not indict anyone and was limited to the DC bubble of the FBI and DOJ , but Durham had a much wider purview (hence his trips to Italy etc) and he can recommend criminal charges. So given Durham and Barr’s quick response to the conclusions of the IG report there is some hope that people will be held to account.
Quite a few of the main “actors” are quite clearly very worried now, given what they are saying on the lefty TV networks and Twitter.

      • That’s a blatantly racist comment you made, Dignap!

Don’t you know that automobiles and roads are nothing but a filthy white colonialist construct which serve as yet another way of subjugating the Maoris (English plural for ‘Maori’)?

I’m surprised and frankly disgusted by your shameless failure to acknowledge that native tribes (English plural for ‘iwi’) should ALWAYS be consulted on EVERYTHING!

Go and sit in the naughty corner and thank your lucky stars that the authorities aren’t on your doorstep with guns (yet).

    • Other changes in the document:

Implement mandatory anti-lock braking systems for motorbikes
Support best practice for work-related travel
Strengthen the regulation of commercial transport services
      Support motorcycle safety
Strengthen system leadership, support and co-ordination

= more regulation for commercial transport operators and more fines for commercial transport operators.

      16

      • That act shouldn’t be covered by any confidentiality agreement. Of course the police could investigate on their own without a complaint, they can prosecute in cases of domestic abuse where there has been no complaint or even if a complaint has been withdrawn. In the public’s interest that is, This is in the public’s interest.

        • This is the same police force that has:

          * Repeatedly not found it in the public interest to pursue illegal election spending from Labour
          * Has deliberately hidden the actions of drug users related to the Labour party
          * Pushed a Labour Party agenda by marginalizing and targeting white males (post Christchurch attacks)
          * Refused to investigate multiple allegations of sexual assault under the Labour Party’s watch

The police will not investigate this on their own. They know that Jacinda pays their wages and they will not do anything to harm her. They are politicized to that degree.

    • They women are pissed off and I hope this not the end of the story for the Labour Party. If this is what the women are still saying how could the QC conclude what she did? As Kea said yesterday , maybe a complaint to the Law Society is in order, at the very least.

Ardern can no longer expect voters to believe she stands up for women and is concerned about mental health.

      https://www.stuff.co.nz/national/politics/118311710/labour-sexual-harassment-complainants-told-pm-of-suicide-risk-from-reports-release

    • Cindy’s government of kindness has surely shit on these poor victims. To be called liars in front of the country after going through sexual assault is a recipe for bad outcomes. Cindy should be ashamed; under that faux empathy facade she’s a cruel bint.
Hopefully this is going to come round and bite the CoL in election year. I hope National have just been keeping their powder dry, and have been saving up the loose ends that they apparently dropped. I’m sure there’s more of the Shroubek episode to see sunlight. And the NZ First fisasco.

    • What happened about the allegations by a male complainant who was punched when he challenged the alleged offender over his treatment of others?
I don’t see the assault mentioned in there, and surely this was witnessed?
The guy who was punched came and spoke in detail about it on RNZ with his voice and identity disguised.
Hard to believe there can be so many complainants, and in the end they announced even the worst was “Not Bullying’ but was “rude and aggressive” behaviour and the alleged offender recongnises this.
The report notes he is vewwy vewwy sowwy.
Even the summary reads rather bizarrely, even if I did concede the worse assault wasn’t substantiated.
There has to be something there, and I would think that in the private sector the person wouldn’t be given any second chances even on his attitudinal shortcomings affecting so many.
At the very least a toxic human being, who is being protected?

      5

  7. Mike Williams on Mike Yardley this morning (NewstalkZB) slagged off one of the complainants in the PM’s Office sex assault inquiry, virtually saying she was lying according to QC Dew’s report.
what a c**t of a man, still covering up for the Liarbour Pardy.
He finished the interview by saying that Paula Bennett is the one that has egg all over her face now and watch for this to be reported.
I find it disgusting that Williams can demonize the complainant like this on national radio. Where is the empathy etc? Typical Liarbour Pardy, all talkey and no doey.
I guess Williams will be off to the compliant media now to push the Paula Bennett “egg on face” line!

      • I read somewhere earlier, Toko that they had the agreements at the start and the end of the process so the victims would not have their names spread around the media. It maybe so, but more likely the key reason would have to keep the guy’s name out of the media and so protect the party.

    • Chloe Swarbrick thinks those expressed thoughts are bizarre. Demonstrates to me how out of touch with reality on the street Ms Swarbrick is. I am not keen on paying tax to cover the costs of children spawned by the couplings of itinerant no hoppers not prepared to meet their obligations. I come from a generation where it was necessary to prepare for life and children and provide a home and sustenance for them. It was about accepting and meeting personal responsibility.

The hand up, not a handout, was a good plan for the original design for Social Welfare. It has gone way past that now.

Ms Swarbrick can back the non contributors and the spongers if she chooses but cannot expect support from any taxpayer for that. Winston Peters is responsible for Ms Swarbrick having an overpriced seat in the house. He should be hanging his head in shame the way his post election scheming sabotaged the country by imposing the current coalition on the country.

So their confiscation was completely reliant on the goodwill of LFO’s. They promptly set about destroying any goodwill with threats of fines, loss of licence and jail time. Not to mention attributing some blame for what had happened in Chch on a law-abiding community. Then they proceeded to chop and change what was/wasn’t legal and ended up netting a large amount of family heirloom bunny guns. They even inadvertently banned steel duck shot. Then their buyback register was compromised and personal details of firearms owners made available.
Overall it seems they’ve netted less than 30% of now-illegal firearms. So it’s been a complete clusterfuck.
How will they spin it? It’s been a success and there were way fewer firearms out there than they thought.
Job done. Except now there are 100,000 illegal firearms injected into the murk. These will be stashed unsecured round the place and will eventually gravitate to the gangs as they can’t be traded legally. Wait till the first child finds a rifle and an accident occurs. Nash is to blame for this.

  9. Well this makes my blood pressure rise (and I just had it checked yesterday).

There is a story on stuff about a white UK lady who is having a battle over residency after a relationship breakdown with a kiwi guy.
Without team YSB reading the story, it quotes from NZ Immigration Narinda Singh and further on a client advisor Naseeka Sahi.

As I say , without reading the story do you get my drift or am I going insane.?

      * Poverty, particularly child poverty has increased.
      * Infrastructure builds have stalled. (And even the planned borrowing doesn’t have a spending target yet, right?)
      * Hospital care has worsened; far fewer elective surgeries.

  14. Minimum wage changes vs unemployment – what the evidence says
    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/2019/12/minimum-wage-changes-vs-unemployment-what-the-evidence-says.html

“With our economy doing well, we want to make sure that our lowest-paid workers also benefit,” said Workplace Relations and Safety Minister Iain Lees-Galloway, talking up the move to $18.90 from April 1.

“But David Seymour, leader of the right-wing ACT Party, said people would lose their jobs as a result.

“People miss out on jobs, the costs for businesses go up, consumers shift away from the businesses that are supposed to be employing the people we’re trying to help,” he told Magic Talk on Friday.

That’s also the view many business leader hold.

“It’s a fact people will lose jobs,” Max Whitehead of human resourcing consultancy Whitehead Group. “Some businesses can’t cope and it will cost jobs.”

    • The cops were embarrassed when they were caught outright cheating over Thomas.
They were always going to try and exact revenge.
      They planted evidence before….

      They are worse now.
-They never backed down over Peter Ellis and never even said Sorry when he was dying of cancer.
-They lied in the most unbelievable way in the first pack of lies to prosecute Lundy. Complete fabrication from end to end. Crossdressing Lundy, Psychics, impossible drive, Christine in bed at 7pm blah blah lie lie lie…
      Massively unsafe conviction.
-They picked on a retarded kid to prosecute Teina Pora over the Susan Burdett murder when all the facts pointed elsewhere.
It is not good enough to hide from that and say ‘well he would have been convicted of other things anyway’ as daft cop-huggers like to hide behind. Pathetic.

After last week’s exposure of their shenanigans over White Island you can’t trust these pricks to patrol school crossings.

The credibility gap is too great.
2 days ago they shot a bloke because ‘someone thinks the person might have had a gun’
Oh great, that’s good enough for us, we’ll just shoot the fecker and ask questions later.
‘unnamed person might have seen something’ is pretty strong evidence- typical of what the cops have been presenting in court for decades now in NZ.
They have paid or done trade off off for prison snitches in so many cases now that have proven false- David Tamihere; Scott Watson; Teina Pora; all lies where they get criminals to extend their dirty work

The cops are not your friend.
These are the people they recruit
-Mike Bush- convicted drunk driver and top of the pile.
      -Brad Shipton and Bob Schollum
-Ben MacLean – shot his wife dead and tried to murder another- he did actually shoot the person and this shot person was still able to overwhelm the crooked cop
-Jeremy Fraser Buis Dunedin cop who terrorised a local citizen for over 2 years while the cops laughed; then when they had to act they kept (lying) denied that this pig was a sworn pig, when all along he was.
-Vili Mahe Taukolo broke his police oath by selling information n- 2019 – barely there a year and he was an out and out criminal and drunkard as well. Clearly be never had honest intentions.
-Jeremy Malifa, 34 in 2017 convicted -A former police officer who used a police database to snoop on women he found attractive can now be named.

This is a power play by a gang of thugs who have been shown up.
Do your arithmetic. The amount of Meth getting into NZ now (hence vastly lowered prices) means there are cops on the take in the supply chain.

    Very fast drivers

If you took all those away I think the toll would be much lower.

    • Those of us who have come from overseas probably fear Kiwi drivers more than tourists. There is an aggressiveness to the average Kiwis’ driving that isn’t present in other countries I’ve driven in. The whole idea of keeping left, letting other people pass you, etc.

Here? The left lane is less utilised than the right. It’s not overtaking, it’s undertaking. And passing lanes? It’s when the 80km/h drivers see if they can make it to 200km/h. Regular as clockwork, watch for the “Passing Lane 1km” sign and you’ll notice the slow traffic starting to speed up.

While tourists cause problems, we should be looking at improving the driving courtesy of Kiwis as well.

They just want revenge for being outed as crooks themselves.
You think Winston Peters holds a grudge for a long time- try this lot.

      P.S.
Ewen MacDonald is acquitted of killing Scott Guy in Feilding in 2010.
Ewen MacDonald’s brother Blair Macdonald was, at the time, a Detective Police officer in Wellington.
Previously he was based in the dubious Palmerston North/Manawatu district.

If MacDonald was acquitted of murder did the police seek out someone else?
      Seems like they did not.
      If not, why not?

      In related news:-
…Top defence lawyer Greg King had a “massive breakdown” at the end of the Ewen Macdonald murder trial, four months before taking his own life, a coroner’s report has revealed.
It includes excerpts from a suicide note in which Mr King described himself as “exhausted, unwell, disillusioned, depressed and haunted”….

What is ‘seen as justice’ is a massive illusion with many moving parts behind the scenes and positioning by players. Facts are not that important in jury trials.

    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/world/2019/12/house-votes-to-impeach-us-president-donald-trump.html

    Of course the Dems did!

“Trump faced votes on two articles of impeachment: Abuse of power and obstruction of Congress.

On both charges, the House passed the necessary 216 votes in favour of impeaching him.

In the article relating to abuse of power, there were 230 votes in favour and 197 against.

Included in the ‘no’ votes were three Democrats, Jeff Van Drew, Collin Peterson and Jared Golden.

On the second article, there were 229 ‘yes’ votes compared to 198 ‘no’ votes.”

  26. For those concerned for President Donald Trump, don’t be.
He has been draining the swamp relentlessly behind the scenes and has an excellent team of people who are as determined as he is to continue cleaning house.
Just this week, so far, five high level positions were vacated via resignations. They were sleepers and identified by Durham and co.
The impeachment is critical for the next stage of the clean out.
The supreme court gets to decide initially if there is an impeachable offense.
