  1. The Newshub Poll that was run last night online asking what Party impressed you most in 2019 will have surprised a few and I may have to eat humble pie in to the 2020 General Election if Act continues it climb in polls. This poll even though it is from Newshub shows Act 10% in front of National and 16% in front of Labour.
    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/2019/12/poll-which-political-party-most-impressed-you-in-2019.html
I will need to eat some humble pie if David Seymour continues to beat the odds on people voting for Act.

    • Why do you say beat the odds. All year we have been saying look out for ACT. Ever since National sided with the lefties not once, but many times, they have been no better than the lefties.
This will be shot in the arm for Seymour and well deserved.

    • You have to remember this poll was about who do you think performed best in 2019 , not who you would for.

BUT it does show, emphatically, that ACT is being noticed with the work they do and it at the very least indicates, that in the election they can expect a significant increase in support if things do not drastically change leading up to the election.

I was trying to work out in my mind yesterday who (what demographic) was likely to be voting in that poll given the day and time of the year –I came to no conclusion.

      • I think mainly YSB members voted on that poll.
I went to Trademe’s Communiity/Politics section and it never got a mention, and yet that forum is quite active.

Remember at the last CB poll they got 2%, now was that 1.9% or 2.3%, they do not say.
But it is not much of a jump from 1% even with the gun control thing
People vote on a lot of things, not just one issue, and they change their mind, and often vote with their heart, rather than their head.

  2. You have to be a stupid if you vote Labour and think Jacinda and the QC that did the report into the recent Sexual Assault Case is going to go away, no mater how they want to frame there is still a lot of questions to be asked and answered.
    https://i.stuff.co.nz/national/politics/opinion/118355549/abuse-scandal-inquiry-damaging-to-all-parties-involved
I am sure that there are a few in the media that do think this report is to help Labour leading up to the 2020 General election and Andrea Vance voice es her opinions.

    • This is an absolute disgrace Happy Chappy thanks for the post. The Meetoo movement has been noticeable by their absence of comment and support of these women with regard to this whole matter. So not only do Liebour ignore the wellbeing of women and men who are breaking the law with their behaviour but the meetoo movement is just total rubbish as well. ( which is not surprising) Ali, Lizzie and all you pretending woke women and liebour supporters, are you OK with this? So if it were you who were in this position would that be OK in your eyes? Just what the fu.k do you stand for?

    • They may be warming to Act or could it be the acceptance of the other two is waning.

I do not see the greens or NZF having another look in. I would welcome a shift from the tired vote buying of the past with policies intended to actually work for the country; sorting out welfare and health both now with a high cost, low performance burden, less government intrusion in life, more personal responsibility, reduce the cost of government national and local.

      7

      • The Greens will always be there under our MMP system.
There are enough greenie, sandal wearing type snowflakes out there, who want to save the world and go organic, and hate capitalism etc etc.
They will always have a core of from 5 to 10%.
And with the media Climate Change campaign, it will attract more to the Green pardy.

        8

        0

        • Eventually the real world will bring the Greenies up short and it may happen sooner rather than later. Meanwhile whilst I entirely agree with you about the desirability of less government I do not think the New Conservatives will achieve a result of much significance. The best option for real change and less government is Party vote ACT. There is now a pool of 250,000 potential ACT voters who have been utterly shafted by the firearms law changes and who are angry and determined to get revenge on Labour and NZ First at the ballot box. Granted many of them will be sheep who will not change their voting habits but if 50 or 100 thousand gun owners Party Vote Act that will be a significant result.

          • Closer to 10 I think.
Sure those two did lots of damage.
But that has been forgotten now
Its all about Gorliz, refugees, and saving the world and poverdee, and CO2, methane, anti farming, vegans etc etc That is a big and growing group!

  3. I am not that rich (Super house to run etc)
So I would make a few bets.
    But I cannot.
So I will make a promise now
If Act get over 4% in the next CB poll I will send them $20
If they don’t I will send the New Cons $20
Unless National announce they have Topper Gernam, in which case I will flick them the $20

  5. A bunch of Maori and Polynesian ‘youth’ seems to be involved in this climate conference bullshit that’s just happened in Spain somewhere.

They seem to think that being ‘indigenous’ is relevant and Aoteataroa Ministry of Citizens’ Thoughts (formerly RNZ) has breathlessly published about their delusions here:

    https://www.msn.com/en-nz/news/national/a-youth-perspective-on-climate-talks-time-for-indigenous-leadership/ar-BBYdCTb

Here’s just a small sample of this vomit….

“Amid the state-led hum of COP25 and resulting headlines of failed climate talks, government disagreements and Greta Thunberg, a small group from New Zealand was there to stick up for indigenous rights.

Te Ara Whatu is a collective of indigenous youth from across the Pacific, based in Aotearoa. Its work is centred on working for climate justice and indigenous sovereignty.”

If you’ve got a strong stomach, go and have a read. And remember that this propaganda is being spread by our own taxpayer funded radio organisation.

    14

    0

    • Dave Mann:

I wonder who paid for their trip (probably taxpayers).

“We would hold a press conference, our people would show up to listen, but it’s not a full room. And then when there’s a Greta (Thunberg) press conference, that’s like, half of it flowing out into the main other area. So as far as who people want to listen to, there’s a massive distinction there.”

Yes, a bunch of f-ing nobodies go to an international conference, and complain when no one cares what they have to say!

      18

      0

        • What should we make of the fact that Helen Clark is a fan of Greta?

“Don’t hang back, it’s your future. Be concerned about it, be inspired by [teenage climate change advocate] Greta [Thunberg] and all those out there leading. Be leaders yourself, don’t wait for others to inspire you.”

I wonder Helen feels “inspired” by Peter these days?

          12

          0

      • Yes they are a bunch of nobodies…. but they represent a dangerous and poisonous mix for New Zealand.. Climate idiocy merged with indigenous sovereignty. Think about it. These shits will probably get an official ‘powhiri’ with everybody sticking their tongues out and wailing like loons on the steps of parliament soon.

  6. #TurnArdern leader says they’re getting death threats from ‘lefties’
    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/2019/12/turnardern-leader-says-they-re-getting-death-threats-from-lefties.html

“I never dreamed it would happen like this [but] it’s taken off. People are sick and tired of all the fluff articles – people want a Prime Minister and not a fashion model.” And he said he’s not deterred by some very staunch opposition to his campaign.

“A few of the lefties gang up and tell us how childish it is and how we’re creating extra work for minimum wage workers having to turn them all around again,” he said.

“I had one who went out of his way to find out who I am and where I live and all the rest of it. And one of our people had a threat today that she’s going to die.”

    • The problem with Brexit is that there are so many facets to it.
      Hard Brexit, Soft Brexit
And you have the EU to negotiate with.
And a trade deal with the USA (controversial) and NZ will not tsave British industry. We do not want any more Morris Marinas, and Dysons are too dear.

I’d just like to see a break from the political Union and the open borders policy! But that may not be possible.
I’d also like to see Poland leave, and anyone else!

      7

      0

      • In theory, an economic union was a good idea and that led logically to free movement of their citizens between their countries. So far so good…. but the problems started to bite home as the EU morphed into rule by an unelected bureaucracy, coupled with their throwing open the borders to hoardes of middle eastern malcontents who have almost nothing in common with European culture and values.

Hopefully, for the UK’s sake, Boris will be able to find a solution to the mess.

  10. The following is of interest. The discharge without conviction is far more justified than the case of the Labour youth camp sexual predator. No skin to skin contact makes a huge difference. However, the difference here is the police opposed the discharge application.

The discharge application was opposed by the police on the basis the assault was designed to demean his victim, it was sexual in nature, and was serious enough to warrant a conviction.

But The Stupid Goy won’t believe it. In spite of jewish intellectuals pointing it out themselves. Many jews oppose it.

    • That’s really interesting Braybots, and this Bezmenov guy is a very good and very engaging speaker.

I have long asked myself (and I’ve put this question on this blog) – WHO is benefiting from this Climate Change madness? People like Soros have been mentioned, but I’ve always been baffled because surely there are easier ways to make money than trying to sell a complete hoax to the whole world?

Then Jordan Paterson said that Marxist postmodernism is to blame but I still think “how do they benefit from this?”

Now it’s becoming clearer in my mind. The subversion of the West was started as a communist psychological warfare attack in the 80s using Western universities as incubators. Then the Soviet system collapsed leaving nobody to directly benefit from this long term project’s culmination.

But the damage had already been done and the project grew like a nuclear core reaction and it has progressed with a life of its own way beyond anybody’s control. First the universities, then the teaching ‘profession’, then our school children and even even into government and business itself.

This postmodernist cancer has infected the whole Western world now, and, linked with other diseases like feminism and indigenous activism it has spawned a myriad of secondary cancers like Climate Catastrophism, flagrant homosexuality, transgenderism, unchecked immigration and ultimately the wholesale abandonment of democracy and the hitherto Western values system.

As this decay has proceeded, of course Putin and co have been all too keen to take advantage of our chaotic state….. but I don’t think they still control it or even actively engage in the subversion. It has taken on a life of its own and Putin, Xi et al are simply the beneficiaries but not actually having to drive it. They are just happy to give it a bit of a nudge now and then, but they don’t really need to.

The only way out for the West is a wholescale rebellion and there might well have to be a violent revolution before any progress towards sanity is achieved. This, though, won’t be fun and there will be many tears shed. However, it might now be too late….. which is why I’m learning Chinese in preparation….. 😣

      • Dave, you have explained the crises and their consequences very well.
Who benefits is complicated, yet makes sense if you are the master of your destiny and have the power to shift and move anything, anywhere at anytime.
Be it money, people, thoughts, beliefs, ideologies etc.
So, with all the power, what do you have to do, to get people to do what you want them to do?
        Invent a crisis.
Gorbachev once said flippantly, in an interview, ‘If you want to change the way the world thinks, invent a crisis, like global warming’
Al Gore and Clinton proceeded to spin this lie. Soro’s and co. funded it.
        Soros is a foot soldier.
The world is owned by six families.(ancient and traceable through the bloodlines hence the term blue bloods)
The family members walk among us incognito.
        How?
The males take the maiden name of their spouse.

At present multiple fabricated crisis are bombarding us.
This is well thought out, and is causing the desired outcome i.e division.
Men against women, women against men. (Gender wars)
        Race against race.
Generation against generation and so on.
        Nothing happens without a reason.
Each UN agenda demand, digs deeper into our psyche telling us, we are the problem.
To depopulate a country introduce a crisis and accentuate the symptoms.
Fake wars, reintroduce disease, famine etc.
We cannot escape the effects of a fabricated disaster. After all we are told it’s our fault.
People are gullible, easily led and desperate to believe…in something.

Ban on Semiautomatic Rifles, Pump Shotguns Takes Effect in New Zealand

When the actual ban was put forward–titled the Arms (Prohibited Firearms, Magazines, and Parts) Amendment Bill–it was evident that it not only banned the majority of semiautomatic rifles but numerous pump shotguns as well. The bill bans pump-action shotguns “capable of being used with a detachable magazine.” Pump shotguns with a fixed, tubular magazine capable of holding more than five rounds are also banned.

“I think things can definitely be improved but there’s always going to be situations where there’s accidents like what’s happened with the Wellington Harbour,” he said.

Death also called for stricter regulations.

“We need to have more rigorous limits as to what’s present in our waterways. There’s good activities farmers, cities and towns are doing but we don’t have the national set of numbers to keep check,” the professor said.

“Climate change is going to mean increasingly our waterways are less safe to swim in,” Death said. ”

        • Anyone of my age born and bred in Wellington will remember that there were out falls from 2 meat works, one at Petone and the other at the bottom of the gorge. They spewed out all the blood and guts into the harbour for many years until they were closed down.
Th the Hutt city had an out fall that spewed sewerage out into the harbour just past Eastbourne.
Petone had sewerage ponds that drained into the Hutt river.

That applies to all of us, as the provision of the Crimes Act that allows police to kill applies to ALL PEOPLE.

Marcial Maciel, the Mexican founder of the ultra-conservative Legionaries of Christ, abused at least 60 minors, according to a new report published Saturday by the Roman Catholic group. Maciel was punished by Pope Benedict XVI in 2006 when he ordered Maciel to retire to a life of prayer and penitence after years of allegations that he had sexually abused boys and young men. … The report lists 175 instances of child abuse over the past eight decades, implicating 33 priests.

Wow – “a life of prayer and penitence” – couldn’t the Pope think of a worse punishment? One of the Mexican cartel gangs might have been able to help out with harsh and unusual punishment ideas.

    https://www.tvnz.co.nz/one-news/world/scott-morrison-back-in-australia-after-heavy-criticism-going-family-holiday-hawaii-during-bush-fire-crisis

Mr Morrison defended his family holiday to Hawaii during the bushfire emergency, saying it was arranged some time ago. He has been criticised for taking leave as intense blazes burned across the country.

“I deeply regret any offence caused to any of the many Australians affected by the terrible bushfires by my taking leave with family at this time,” Mr Morrison said in a statement on Friday.

“I have been receiving regular updates on the bushfires disaster as well as the status of the search for and treatment of the victims of the White Island tragedy.”

  20. Not long ago & far away, Santa was getting ready for his annual trip but there were problems everywhere. Four of his elves got sick & the trainee elves did not produce the toys as fast as the regular ones so Santa was beginning to feel the pressure of being behind schedule. Then Mrs. Claus told Santa that her mother was coming to visit. This stressed Santa even more. When he went to harness the reindeer,he found that three of them were about to give birth & two had jumped the fence and were out, heaven knows where. More Stress.

Then when he began to load the sleigh one of the boards cracked & the toy bag fell to the ground & scattered the toys. So frustrated, Santa went into the house for a cup of coffee & a shot of whiskey.

When he went to the cupboard, he found the elves had hidden the liquor & there was nothing to drink. In his frustration, he dropped the coffee pot & it broke into hundreds of little pieces all over the kitchen floor.

Just then the doorbell rang & Santa cussed on his way to the door. He opened the door & there was a little angel with a great big Christmas tree.

The angel said: “Where would you like to put this tree Santa?”

And that friends, is how the little angel came to be on top of the Christmas tree.

  21. Family of teenage boy killed in Melbourne brawl mourn ‘humble, quiet child’

The family of a 17-year-old boy who died after he was allegedly stabbed during a youth brawl in Melbourne’s north-west has described him as a “humble, quiet” child who got mixed up with the wrong crowd. Detectives believe the boy died on the footpath outside Keilor Plains train station after he was stabbed during a fight between two groups just after 1:30am.

Hmmm. Weren’t we told that the Sudanese community in Melbourne is fun-loving and peaceful?

The chair of Victoria’s South Sudanese Community Association, Achol Marial, said it was a “heartbreaking situation”. … She also urged young people caught up in the conflict not to take the situation into their own hands. “We’re not in a war zone, we’re in a democratic system that is upheld by the laws in this country,” she said.

Hmmm. Yes, definitely fun-loving and peaceful.
