  1. Happy new year to everyone. May what we all wish for this year comes to pass.

My son is taking part in a social experiment.
He has to wear a Jacinda 2020 t-shirt for 2 weeks and see how people react.
So far he’s been spit on, punched and had a bottle thrown at him!
I’m curious to see what happens when he goes outside.

    • Happy New Year to you and your family Ed with the same regards to all on ysb and hope the blog makes life difficult for those we don’t want re-elected to Parliament in the 2020 General Election.

    • Happy new year Ed & All.

Its certainly going to be an important year politically. Will kiwis choose freedom or an authoritarian regime under Ardern?

      • The freedom of speech fight was lost years ago when people like you shut down, imprisoned and persecuted people who were critical of jews or questioned their fake history.

Now you have entrenched the principle – it is simply being extended to muslims and others.

        So own your shit brother.

  4. Here is a farmer who told Jamie Mackay on the Farmers show New Zealand should declare a emergency of Political Stupidity. Although Jane Smith is not a climate change denier, she says there is no denying things have got ” out of control” when it comes to Cities declaring climate emergency.

As a former Balance Farm Environment winner Smith knows when it comes to keeping NZ Clean and Green, but a Climate Emergency is a step to far in her book.

    • Thanks for posting, an interesting podcast indeed. Why can’t we elect sensible people like Jane Smith to Parliament instead of this never ending succession of muppets?

  6. Happy New Year to everyone. May 2020 bring you everything you wish for.

Special thanks to Ed for your sterling effort in providing YSB, an excellent blog to give us ordinary kiwis a voice. To all those awesome contributors who ferret out interesting articles to post for our interest and amusement, keep up the great work. May we partake and enjoy plenty of political stirring about the dreadful COL and remind them with a thumping landslide that the voter is in charge of our democracy… Their demise on election day is our goal!!

Good luck to you and your families for 2020, be happy, safe and healthy.

    • “We have now learned that Ardern’s “Year of Delivery” promise was only ever a slick catchphrase dreamed up by a speechwriter, not Ardern herself.”

And that sums up the COL government. Full of hot air and broken promises.

      • She’s under a clod of earth in my back garden awaiting a Tahitian Lime shrub. (alongside her companion cat of 18 years)

It wasn’t a painful decision… the vet had her blood results from a couple of months ago (when she first had a couple of seizures) which were fine, so it seemed to indicate that the cat either had a brain tumour or had just developed epilepsy (not a common thing for old cats). When the vet started to bring up “quality of life”, I cut to the chase.. and said I wasn’t interested in letting the cat slide any further into its decline.

All over and done with in a couple of seconds… Cleo had stopped breathing before most of the pentobarbital had been injected.

Not sure if my other 2 cats have noticed the old girl is missing.

My dwarf lime has been in for two years and hoping for more than the 3 limes it managed in its first year. Scale love it preferring to take up residence on that rather than on the lemon tree. I pick them off straight into a bucket of water which sorts the little blighters.

  7. Very Happy New Year to you all especially Ed and his family, without whom we would have no opportunity to add our thoughts that are not moderated to fit with the woke. I wish all contributors health and happiness for the coming year. A resounding victory over the woke PTPM and her crew of incompetents later on during the year will be the icing on the cake (if we are still allowed to use that quote). May we all continue to have the ability to engage in free speech and thank you Ed for your wonderful blog. Happy 2020.

  8. Thanks to Ed, for the rolling start for “free speech & expression”
Looking for a prosperous New Year for every one here, where history is not revised. 🙂

For Australia to take a leaf out of Captain Cook & Abel Tasman’s diaries, noticing and
” ….. learned that aboriginals lit fires at any time, for many reasons, and never tried to put them out. ….
…… Today, we have replaced decentralized fire management by aboriginals and settlers with government-nurtured firestorms. ……
…… Too often, the people in charge did not understand bushfire history and science and they were too influenced by Green ideology. …..

Climate Change alarmists are prepared to burn& terrorize the people for their cause of globalist taxes & control.
The article gives great understanding and re-balances the old ” wise spiritualism” that is another form of control.

“There can be few if any races who for so long were able to practice the delights of incendiarism.”
Geoffrey Blainey “Triumph of the Nomads – A History of Ancient Australia.” Macmillan 1975.

    • Found the original good article, and needs to be understood, even here in NZ. as revisionist history greens want to bring their own tyrannic controls & taxes in so many areas of our lives.

It would seem that these big firestorms are impossible to be really fought,
It is the mismanagement over the years, following the “big government” & green agenda.

…. The early squatters quickly learned about the dangers and benefits of fires, and like the aboriginals, they learned to manage fire to protect their assets, grasslands and grazing animals.
The settlers had more to lose than the nomads.
Graziers need to protect their herds and flocks, homesteads, hay stacks, yards, fences and neighbours, as well as maintaining their grasslands by killing woody weeds and encouraging new grass.
So their fire management was more refined. …..

….. governments created fire hazards called National Parks, where fire sticks, matches, graziers and foresters were locked out and access roads were abandoned or padlocked.
And Green-loving urbanites built houses right beside them, and planted trees in their yards.
The open forests and grasslands were invaded by eucalypt regrowth, woody weeds, tangled undergrowth, dry grass, logs, dead leaves, twigs, bark and litter – all perfect fuel for a wildfire holocaust.
These tinder-boxes of forest fuel became magnets for arsonists, and occasionally even disgruntled neighbours, or were lit by wind-blown embers or dry lightning. With high winds, high temperatures and heavy fuel loads some fires will race through the tree tops of oil-rich eucalypt forests. …..

….. Into this maelstrom they send the brave volunteer fireys.
With insufficient tracks, insufficient nearby water, uncleared tracks, insufficient fuel reduction burning and bush right up to towns and houses, more disasters are guaranteed.

Central management/control of burn-off policy and fire-fighting across entire states has failed
      completely. …..

…. No aboriginals and few early settlers used water to fight fires.
There were no water bombers, no fire trucks, and often not even hand-spray back packs.
Graziers used back-burning from station tracks.
Their wives defended the homestead with garden hoses, or tried to beat the flames to death with wet hessian bags and green branches.
Aboriginals let the fire burn and tried to keep out of its path.
Water is undoubtedly useful to protect homes and towns, to extinguish burning buildings, to stop grass fires and to stop the back burn from escaping in the wrong direction.
But trying to extinguish raging bushfires and forest wild-fires with water alone is usually a waste of time, energy and water

….. Mainly we must relearn two ancient skills – remove the fuel load everywhere and use fire to fight fire.
      We know that works.
      [in a timely manner]

Big fires need a lot of fuel. If you own the fuel, you own the fire. If you haven’t managed the fuel, you will not be able to manage the fire. And if your fire escapes and causes damage, you are responsible.

Just 4 pages, of good background reading.
      https://saltbushclub.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/fighting-fires.pdf

The government owns the National Parks, and keep on burning up more money in their controlling ways, claiming it is all for our benefit, like stopping dams being made, and turning it into parks, demanding dams to spill water into rivers to go to the sea..

Where does the insanity of these controlling tyrants stop as they demand costs & sacrifices of others?

The governments of passing the buck, and not learning, as they do not want accountability, to know just what happened & why, and so do not accept responsibility.
In the mean time is it not not time for another increase in salaries.:-(

    • The big cover up, twisting and spinning, by the media about the fires in Gippsland as they censor & remove what was in the papers about a year back.
The arrogant ABC should be called criminals for this, and also how they are twisting this to Climate Change.

“The ABC reported on the incident but have since deleted their posts after it was shared on social media yesterday. Take a look at the A-grade twats in these photos. And how dodgy of the ABC to delete this story. Shame on them.”
      https://twitter.com/_evelynrae
I did scroll down a little bit, and centred it, so more easier to read part the news and articles included.
Also a little further scrolling shows some good cartoons, 🙂 and some other good thoughts. A video of a much earlier backburn, and in similiar spiel as regarding the burning out the fuel build up in a timely manner.

    • Further to those protesters at my 7.23 comment did this in September 2019, just a few months ago.

“Our crews ignited the burn near Mossiface and then had to call 000 to activate Victoria Police when, contrary to Authorised Officers’ advice members of the public entered the burn zone and refused to leave.
      https://www.trfm.com.au/articles/planned-burns-halted/

When one reads that brief article, then those protesters would be lucky they should only be tarred and feathered and exiled out of town, because I doubt they accept they are responsible in any way, for a large part of fire damage in their area.
These are the Greta & Green clueless supporters that helped to make one of these fires into a major conflagration, all in the name of their achieving and attaining their murderous Climate Emergency.

However sadly I notice that when questioned,

“Pity about the lack of balance”.
to Laura Tingle, the ABC Chief Political Correspondence who then makes the reply
“What, like, “on the other hand, it’s ONLY 4.6 million hectares of Australia that are burning”. A rare editorial engagement: go fuck yourself”
      https://twitter.com/latingle/status/1211933101653258241

She cannot deny political bias so she uses foul language. Tingle is a former Fairfax media employee who is now well & truly protected in the Sheltered Workshop – the taxpayer funded Billion$ ABC.
Yeah, keeps on shoveling the Climate Change Emergency etc.
      What solutions does she suggest?
There is such a large support base on her twitter base so do not scroll down.
No accountability, and no responsibility while pushing to gain UN global control and place their galah mouths in the trough.

  9. Even Al Jazeera is climbing on the Climate Change mantra band wagon
Asking the Australian firefighters what they can do about climate change to stop these fires.

They forgot to mention that Australia has always had really hot days in the 40’s.
I wonder how many fires were lit by firebugs?
    Quite a few I believe.

      • With all the massive fires they get in California, Greece, Spain, Portugal and Australia, you’d think that they would have come up with a really effective way of putting them out.

Eg why have they left it so late to call in the army.
If they had been there on day one, it might have made a difference.
Put all the homeless and unemployed out there with brooms and buckets.
Execute every fire starter (by dropping them into a fire with a broom and bucket of water.)

“You’d think they would have come up with a really effective way of putting them out.”
It doesn’t fit the narrative. What better way of dramatizing a planets heating than setting it on fire.
        Controlled to uncontrolled.

She will arrive to say how sorry she is for Austalia and the fires that were so destructive.

  14. Happy New Year all 🙂 –

Ok – I’m going to give you what I think would be a good way to get Cindy booted out at the election.

Cindy has two groups of followers – the SJWs and the knuckledraggers (there’s a lot of crossover there too….. ).
SJWs are a lost cause, so what is needed is to get just enough of the knuckledraggers away from Labour that the government is given the arse card.

Cindy has a vulnerable spot. Almost ALL of the knuckledraggers vote for her ONLY because they see her as “nice”. Mentioning policy is a waste of time with them – they’d look at you slack-jawed, as if you’d asked them to add two and two.

No. The BEST way forward is to puncture the “niceness balloon”, showing that in fact Cindy is NOT “nice”. A very good start on that is the video in which she herself says that Labour closed the charter schools “because the unions wanted it.”
( Ok – that last sentence IS “policy” but you simply give the FACT that “charter schools were helping children get a great education and the students and their parents LOVED them. Didn’t matter – mean old Cindy comes along and AXES them because it’s “unions first, children LAST” in Labour’s priorities. )

Next comes the very long list of “broken promises”. You tell the knuckledraggers that “broken promises aren’t nice”.

There you go. I believe that “keeping things clear and SIMPLE” will be very important in the campaign this year.

    Cheers……… 🙂

    8

    0

    • I don’t know, seems most of those “knuckledraggers” are concerned about wringing more handouts from Labour rather than seeing Cindy as “nice”. More like they see her and her ditzy COL as easy marks for continued access to taxpayer paid benefits.

I’d also keep stressing how she and her Col group are disconnected from productive working people and represent an elite group of spoilt narcissists.

Keep stressing that she’s all about appearance not about results.

  15. One of the more sensational recent examples was left-wing journalist Juan Thompson, arrested and charged with making hoax bomb threats to at least eight Jewish Community Centers. Now, news comes today of an arrest in Israel pointing to a much more extensive pattern of hoaxes, with the same target:

The police on Thursday arrested an Israeli teenager who holds American citizenship in connection with waves of threats to Jewish institutions, including community centers in the United States, law enforcement officials said. A spokesman for the police here….said the suspect, from the Ashkelon area of southern Israel, had also made threats to institutions in Australia and New Zealand, as well as to at least one airline….

Regarding your planned website for Arden lies etc

Could I humbly suggest that you don’t call every thing Lies
Lies is a very strong word
There are also fibs and porkies

Could I suggest breaking them down into a few sections

    Straight Out Lies
    Casual statements that were fibs
Then there are things she did that were not in their manifesto

      • Start by repealing the PTPM and Chief Liars sponsorship of the Chief Censors appalling ban on BrentonTarrant’s manifesto. Let the public see he has more in common with the Thunberg/Extinction Rebellion/Green movements than with anything on the right side of the political spectrum.

    • I am not OK with democratic process being trampled. The Oil and Gas “decision”, tge Arms Act amendments are but two examples. We also have changes the Emissions Trading criteria announced just prior to Christmas with submissions closing in February. These changes will crank up power prices and the cost of living to make no shift whatsoever in any climate change factors.

So call it process abuse even if the knuckle draggers do not know what that is.

    • A great cultural tradition in Paris, France, though not not big in other European cities, that seemed to have picked up on some of those ‘cultural aspects’

Just like our fireworks, and this seemed to begin about 15 years ago, totaling about 8000 cars but spread over 3 weeks.
Occasionally reported, but needs to get to about 1000 “events” in a night to be sure to be written up.

As some would say, “just life in a big city” as one supposed to accept that “diversity” and ‘cultural enrichment’ of innovative fireworks in our lives. 🙁
A bit like candle lit vigils & peace songs have become a bit more common,

      • “A great cultural tradition in Paris, France…”

Yes, it is and (as you said) it’s been happening for many years now – not that people here would know it, given our communist “sheeple media”.
If Cindy farts, they’ll report that “a floral fragrance has filled the air…”.

The complete lack of any self-analysis and self-criticism from our (and all Western) media is mind-blowing. If Rudi Dutschke were still around (he of the “long march through the institutions”), he’d have a grin a mile wide.

      • Simpleton 1.
I saw a thread posted on another site. It caught my eye as I am trying to grapple with big brother subversion techniques and false narratives used to plant thoughts and ideologies in our minds.
        Here goes:
Brenton Tarrant is from Grafton Australia
The shooting took place in Christchurch NZ
The black man who stabbed the Jews in Monsey name is Grafton Thomas.
        https://int.nyt.com/data/documenthelper/6628-grafton-thomas/44d55e7c8e2bdb5ccaaf/optimized/full.pdf#page=1
The shooting of two members of the congregation in Texas, was at the Church of Christ in a place called ‘White Settlement.’
White Settlement is situated in Tarrant County.
        https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-50952443

With my interest piqued I searched Google for other ‘coincidences’

There is a township in West Virginia named Brenton in Wyoming County. Which is where gun controls are currently under scrutiny and militia groups are forming.

In 2017, West Virginia had the 9th highest gun death rate among the States. West Virginia also supplied crime guns to other States at the second highest rate among the States. West Virginia exported crime guns at more than three times the National rate and more than three times the rate at which it imported crime guns from other States.

        • Well Bn, you have triggered something. 🙂
But do not know if I make much sense. 🙂

Coincidences? Research looking to support an outcome?, maybe in beliefs? politics? power & control? either for or against?.

Big Bruv, Illumanti, Common Purpose, left, right, is sort of there, but not, though there maybe agendas, & flavours of the month.
I think of “plans of mice & men” and where needs must, “cometh the hour, cometh the man”, like Churchill became the nemesis to Hitler.
However the rest of us need to support, how ever we can, , like bringing over Jordan Peterson, Stefan Moyneax, to support even Don Brash, some I may not agree with totally, but in thinking about things, builds a better understanding, and hopefully other even greater minds here in NZ can also build up, with a wide knowledge of history.

To know what is right & what is wrong, in some ways believing that I can discern that, but not acknowledging I may not always be right, all the time. 🙂 🙁 Just got to keep on winning, well sometimes.

          Always some angle can occur.
          https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lincoln%E2%80%93Kennedy_coincidences_urban_legend
Eventually some singer made “History Repeats Itself” a 1966 Top 40. I prefer to say that History Rhymes and so it may dove tail.
Can be difficult to sometimes to figure whether some of these things are fully pertinent.

There is the saying, “It is a small world”, and even struck me a week ago, in chatting to a girl, born in England, and moved back to her parents home town, Lagos.
Yet we had a lot in common about certain places in Papua Niugini, expecting that neither of us would know anything what, who and of course where.
Surprising to both of us, and in such decades apart, giving great conversation for about an hour of learning of before, & long after in our experiences.

I try to work with each fact, one at a time, and how to deal and understand that.
Sure I do look at a broader picture, and ascertain how much should the rest of things be of effect. Accepting that I can be right or wrong, or just file it away.

Like that law centre, has uncovered maybe a number of issues, but what is the actual problem. Figure the facts, maybe the causes, and real priorities, that is, if something really needs to be done.
It seems from this distance, and knowing how things like Climate Change, is trying to push Australian fires, Australian Cricket, (a money source?) to put pressure on government & others to rollover and to apply the CC agendas, and so in politics, the State of Virginia is trying for a full takeover on the guns issues.

As some say, “may you live in interesting times”
          https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/May_you_live_in_interesting_times
Even that has an interesting evolutionary background.

I note their is nothing more sure than death & taxes, and change will always be a happening, which is just a fact of aging and our societies are effected by “flavours” and philosophies of the moment.

In all these things, I smile, keep a sense of humour, laugh now & again, with people, not at them, even if something is macabre coincidence, knowing I am far from perfect.

          • Yes I understand fully.
Trying to make sense of things and looking for patterns will always be a human trait.
Our cognitive abilities tend to raise the question of what if.
Science has determined we only use 10% of our noggins.
It’s the other 90% that interests me. ‘What if?’ could be answered.
Lets just say, extending that 10% to 15%, is the difference between genius and average IQ.
If one were able to tap into say another 5%, what then?
All meaning of life reflection in the end, I suppose.

            1

            0

            • Raising that IQ will allow to see even more patterns, and the links may be very small and tenuous, that even computers still can not pick up, unless programmed specifically.
All I know I an’t got it, though sometimes I do see things obtusely to others but it is standing and looking from another point of view of sorts.

              What then?
If you know him, here comes another “Johnathon Livingston Seagull” 🙂
There was me joking and ‘well I never’, just found out about Part 4, finally published in Feb 2014
              https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jonathan_Livingston_Seagull

Still for us mere mortals, there is much in life to be lived, sometimes frustrating, occasionally perfectly and often imperfectly.

Do I need more IQ?, sometimes, just to make life easier.
Still I do not really miss, what I have not got. It suffices.

    • ‘taharrush gamea’, “eve teasing” maybe considered another form of “cultural enrichment” that spawned from “diversity”, to be celebrated at special times as being “just life in a big city”, particularly as the authorities are reluctant to fend against it.

It seems to be a form of using a power over others, whether as a culture, or a patriarchal form, and can be found in a number of countries, like Vietnam, India, Woodstock 1969.
I think the use of social media by the mobs, has encouraged it to grow to much larger numbers.

Often seem as understandable, from a cultural perspective, a relativism that sees culture as not being bad, needing time to adjust to new ways.
Victims have been seen as at some fault, not conservatively dressed, not escorted, etc.. and maybe should not go to those places.
Masked in with an ideology of religiosity, that pushes to supreme, & knows terror is a successful weapon, as it can create a paralyzing, compromising fear.

Used as ratchets, of if only, needing things, studies, money, resources, etc., so that these problems can be sorted, so that things do not get out of hand.

Now a created fear, my post card is getting to big. 🙂

Will be same questions, making the same results, possibly with some variance.

  21. Left wing eco terrorist, Brenton Tarrant, show trial should have begun by now.

With so many abuses and injustices piling up, he should be released. I am no fan of the far left, but his fellow lefty Ardern has made a fair trial and secure conviction, impossible. He should walk free.

    1

    0

      • Thanks Crumb for providing a perfect example of why he should walk free.

The only way a fair trial can be had is from a starting point that assumes innocence. That is the correct legal position.

It will be impossible to assemble a jury capable of that assumption therefore no sound conviction is possible.

        0

        2

        • bullshit kea. This fucker doesn’t deserve a fair trial. He admitted the shooting. He got caught. Now all he needs to do is pled guilty and it will be all over. This crap about being guilty, but pleading not guilty is just grandstanding.
Back in the good old days he would have been taken out and shot. Alas we have to be seen to be doing the right thing here.

The UN describes the Disarmament, Demobilization, and Reintegration protocol as “a complex process, with political, military, security, humanitarian and socio-economic dimensions.”

      5

      0

    • An overstatement claim of including US military & civilians, that is until possibly looking to the future, where the Democrats run things, and call them in, after the equivalent of a civil war, but it will raise a real hornet’s nest.

UN DDR forces operate under the intergovernmental organization’s Department of Peace Operations to “assist” the Member States, including the United States, in a boots on the ground capacity.

More like in places where “Black Hawk Down” Mogadishu, Places like Serbia hounded by NATO, and have needed a total capitulation and that would have to be to a form of the UN. Nor even Iraq or Afghanistan became part of a UN protectorate.

It is an article written and drawn from that application form, that makes it seem that it can in the head line appear to operate directly with demobilized USA military from the “stated aims and purpose” of the UN group.
A fallacy, even though it may potentially happen if there are warring groups in the USA and then there needs to have a talk down truce/treaty, and the Americans have called the UN in.

All those applicants need Masters Degrees, or high University Degree, and further work experience. So all full of grandiose snowflake dangerous ideas.

Right 2 Protect, got shot down in flames over Libya’s Gaddafi’s rooted body.

There would be a real problem if the UN were able to gain power over the USA airforce, drones, etc.. but that would be far off in the future, in spiraling down of the USA.
More than likely others would gain the power, hopefully some state groupings, and such.

It annoys me when some of these things stir things up, to polarize, but waste time and effort, and for me sacrifices and damages their credibility, but also any one else that is on the same side.
There are more immediate and important issues to learn about.

  26. I thought about another way to undermine Cindy and her rabble of a party.

Someone should form a **satirical** political party – say, the Knuckledragger Party. This party would have as its goal “setting the country back 200 years” and would have (as its policies) the **exact policies of Labour and the Greens**.

This would be a **perfect** vehicle for undermining Cindy. Why? Because in saying that your goal is “setting the country back 200 years” (using their policies), you’d be upfront and **honest**.
Labour is heading towards the same goal too but they are getting there **by accident** and they don’t know of any other way to go.

They couldn’t criticise the Knuckledragger Party because they’d be criticising **their own policies**.

I’ve even thought of a theme song for the party…..

( To the tune of “Blackadder” )

    “A Knuckledragger’s life is gooooood
You really get to know your neighhhhhh-bour
And though your brain is made of woooooood
    It’s stilllll a better brain than Laaaaaaa-bour

    Knuckledraggers, knuckledraggers

    Knuckledraggers, knuckledraggers
    You’ll never be alooooooone.”

    Dear Liberals,

Stop calling your push to disarm law abiding citizens a gun “buyback”
You can’t repurchase something if you did not sell it in the first place.
If you are collecting taxes from a person, only to hand their tax money back in return for their guns, it’s not a buyback…it’s straight up gun confiscation! It’s just sugar coated, so retards on the left don’t see it for what it is.
If you think that myself, and other law enforcement officers are going to do your dirty work to disarm the populace, you are gravely mistaken.
You focus on things you do well, like eating tide pods and figuring out what bathroom to piss in.

  30. Lawsuit: Famed Jesuit Priest With Connections to Mother Teresa Abused Boy ‘More than 1,000 Times’

Lawsuit naming one of the most prominent clerics in the world, Fr. Donald J. McGuire, S.J, who served as Spiritual Advisor to Mother Teresa and held several prestigious positions throughout his career despite multiple reports of child sexual abuse throughout the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s.

The boy, Robert J. Goldberg, now 61, would pay dearly for the favor, enduring what he describes as years of psychological control and sexual abuse he suffered while working as a child valet for the late Rev. Donald J. McGuire. He remained in the Jesuit’s thrall for nearly 40 years, even volunteering to testify on McGuire’s behalf during criminal trials that ultimately resulted in a 25-year prison sentence for the priest.
