  1. Jacinda must be hard up for media accolades but with the millions that she and Winston bribed the Pacific Islands with earlier this year they have have come to her rescue and made Island person of the year being the second non Pacific Islander to receive the award with the other Prime Minister being John Howard.
    https://www.rnz.co.nz/international/pacific-news/406780/nz-pm-named-pacific-person-of-the-year
She does nothing and is politically corrupt with no economical sense and Left just keep drooling over her.

    • They forget it was NZ taxpayers money. Socialist Cindy was just buying votes with our money. Winston will be pissed he wasn’t mentioned at the same time.

    • Someone travelling to the islands on holiday needs to visit the bookshops, etc to turn the magazines and books for the #Turn Ardern campaign. Pacific person of the year. Pfffft!

      • Interesting that a large bookshop in my neighbourhood did not have any of choppers books.

Pissed me off as I made a special trip to do my deed.

  2. You have to wonder if Andrew Little and Labour have helped small time crime in NZ with there wish to lower the Prison population. Supermarkets in this country are hit by thieves everyday and can do nothing forceful to stop it and it is in the thousands of dollars weekly, but now the thieves have even got cleverer by making copies of food vouchers from different agencies that help the poor some up to $500. So the Government extra payments to all beneficiaries is still not enough so shop lifting and fraud is better way to help subsidize there living.

    16

    0

    • What do you mean their wish to lower NZ prison population?
The have I saw some figures that its lowered by 1,000.
      Yet we have more crime!
The totally unfair huge rise on cigarette tax is not helping either.

      13

      0

      • So the Prison Population has dropped by 1000.
And we have a truckload more Crime…

I’m no ‘Criminologist’ but perhaps these walking Crimewaves Andrew Little is so desperate to keep at large in the Community aren’t behaving themselves like he said they would?

    • Hang on, we’ve got Kiwibuild, have banned foreign investors and have LVR limits. How can this be?
Also the problem with LVR’s is that presumably they’ll be removed and then the floodgates open.
This will tend to happen anyway, as those who missed out on purchasing with a 10% deposit a few years ago will be nearing the point of being able to purchase with a 20% deposit. So there comes a point (soon) when the volume of buyers being able to purchase at 20% is not far off the volumes able to purchase at 10% in the past. At that time LVR’s have lost their mojo.

    • So why will politicians not address the demand side and stop the mass immigration? All pollies appear deaf and dumb on the number one issue affecting all aspects of our economy.

      16

      • The NZ economy does need workers.
So the first thing to do would be to Stop all third world un-qualified immigration for six month
Then get get EVERY one on the job seeker allowance working. Everyone!
No Training, no education, just working any job, travel if you have to
If you do drugs and don’t turn up then cancel your dole for ever.
        This is your final warning.
In the early 1960’s we had 54 unemployed! 54.

  3. How the Californian bureaucracy makes one suffer in their arrogance but the state stealthily is finds many ways to getting what it wants.

Virtually all of those people trying to buy ammo are legally allowed to do so, but were rejected “because their personal information hadn’t been entered into the state’s system, or the information on their identification cards didn’t match what officials had entered into the California gun registry database, which retail sellers must review,” …..

“everyday residents and visitors into criminals, building a database of consumables and setting up a giant new bureaucracy within one of the least capable state agencies to do so ……
…… “backdoor” isn’t the right way to put it. It seems like full-on registration.

    https://spectator.org/the-latest-bureaucratic-attack-on-gun-rights/

Registration ideas coming into NZ., and will be no better.

    • So what do they do, they get their mate to buy it for them and buy a shitload of ammo to last a long time!

      4

      0

    • Here’s an interesting short film on why NOT to register guns. I don’t expect for one minute that our government of fools and the police senior management who are jerking their strings will pay any attention at all. It is the poor, long suffering NZ taxpayer who will foot the enormous bill after all.

    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/world/2019/12/us-bank-employee-steals-133k-from-vault-poses-with-evidence-on-social-media.html

A bank employee in the US has been arrested by the FBI for allegedly stealing large amounts of cash from the bank’s vault – and posing with the evidence on social media.

“I make it look easy but this shyt really a process [sic]”, alongside a photo of him clutching a wad of money.”

  5. Just thinking about Cindy’s imminent pre-election nuptials (sad I know). I’m not sure that the wedding will necessarily have the desired effect. The public’s been made well aware of her attention-seeking photo shoots, magazine covers and virtue signalling on the international stage. Of course the lap dogs gotta lap, but a lot of people will see it for the cynical, non-political self promotion that it is, and it may not translate to achieving a net gain.

  6. This sounds like one of many two Bob poms that immigrated to Australia in the sixties are wanting a change. The Queen has been urged to deselect the Australian Prime Minister who is accused of failing to issue a prompt response to the fires which started in september. Jordon Shanks a you tuber known online as as friendly jordies called on the Monach to sack Mr Morrison.https://www.express.co.uk/news/royal/1224541/queen-news-australia-fires-prime-minister-scott-morrison-queen-elizabeth-II-statement-news

    https://www.tvnz.co.nz/one-news/new-zealand/doorbells-secretly-filming-you-growing-in-popularity?auto=6119960396001

Keeping your house safe while you’re away on holiday is a big issue at this time of year and now the answer may lie with high-tech doorbell security systems, which let you see all your visitors whether you’re at home, or at the beach.

Doorbell camera linked to your cell phone as intercom is becoming popular now they are cheaper.

  9. Do you think that Cindy is running out of time for a wedding?
8wk christmas holiday. Back mid Feb.
May 15 aniversary. (the whole month)
    Electioneering 3mths, starting July.
    Overseas holidays and shopping trips.
Which leaves mid feb to end of april,

    10

    0

        • Nah she will spend a couple of weeks in Christchurch in March crying and hugging people in front of her army of cameras..
The Wedding will be just before the Election- There are rumours it will be so extravagant it will make Wills and Kate look second rate! Horse drawn carriages, Red Carpet celebrity guests etc etc…
(And guess who is stumping up the $$$? Yep the poor old taxpayer..)

          7

          0

          • How can the COL justify the taxpayer covering the cost of the wedding? Is it coming out of Labour’s electioneering taxpayer funded allocation? Labour have proven in the past with the “Pledge Card” they will screw the taxpayer any which way they can for a freebee! 🤑

            9

            0

            • The costs will come out of the live TV coverage, the hundreds of Police and Emergency Services Workers on duty, and (if rumours are to be believed) the cost of Queen Street being closed down during peak hours for our Princess to travel up it in a horse-drawn carriage….

              6

    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/entertainment/2020/01/piers-morgan-slams-scott-morrison-for-dereliction-of-duty-as-australian-bushfires-rage.html

“You’re facing one of the greatest crises you’ve ever faced and there is you Mr Kelly, with respect a senior politician, who still doesn’t think this has anything to do with a heating up planet,” Morgan said.

“Nothing to see here, nothing to worry about as virtually your entire country is eviscerated by fires – it is quite extraordinary.”

    8

    • ScoMo could have started by responding “Yes we’re looking at bringing federal manslaughter charges against the environmental groups and regional councils who prevented controlled burnoffs. The reality is the outcomes of these fires could have been prevented and the deaths attributed to the blind ignorance of them environmentalists will be punished”

Bin liner sales rise as shoppers run out of free shopping bags

” In an ironic twist, many families are finding they have swapped free plastic shopping bags, which had a double use as a shopping and rubbish bag, for bought plastic rubbish bin liners that only have one use.

The businessman said bin liner sales would increase because it was unrealistic to think that shoppers would wash bins out or line with newspaper instead of using plastic bags.
“We all know not everyone’s going to do that. They will just buy bin liners, so sales of bin liners have gone through the roof.”

  15. Ricky Gervais, man of the people
    https://quillette.com/2020/01/06/ricky-gervais-man-of-the-people/

“In a room filled with self-absorbed narcissists, one brave, slightly less self-absorbed narcissist had the balls to speak truth to power—and his name is Ricky Gervais.”

“So I get it, Hollywood. If this happened to me after a single First Class flight, I can’t imagine what it must be like for you after a lifetime of warm nuts and constant flattery. It’s easy to understand how expensive gift bags and millions of dollars would make anyone feel qualified to lecture other people on public policy, private morality, global warming, or the complex geopolitical issues in the Middle East”

    11

    • ” Liberals may describe the current trends in politics in the West as Populism, but what we are really seeing is a growing schism in the Left between upper middle class, university educated, woke kids and the blue collar workers that made up the Left’s traditional base. Particularly in the Anglosphere, there is a wholesale rejection of the oppression olympics, cancel culture, the belief in omnipresent racism (amongst other -ism’s), trans kids as a concept and trans women as athletes.

Between them, Dave Chapelle, Ricky Gervais and a few other noteworthy comics such as Joe Rogan and Bill Burr, seem to have turned the flank of the other side of the Culture War. A recent Emerson poll put African American support of Trump at 34%, with Latino support even higher, so it can no longer be claimed that it is simply the case that the white working class “want their privilege back”. It turns out that many Americans, Brits and Australians love their country, don’t like it being denigrated and don’t appreciate the concept of a white male patriarchy, when they find themselves consistently the least powerful adult in their marriage, working hard in difficult jobs and struggling to pay the bills. Above all, the Left is not going to win any elections by insulting people, or calling them deplorables.

I don’t like the situation. Historically, I’ve always been somewhat sympathetic towards the Left, especially on social issues. It isn’t good for Democracy, when one side of the aisle disqualifies themselves from effective opposition. Hopefully, when President Trump is re-elected for his second term of office in November, it will lead to a greater degree of soul-searching across the Anglosphere- but I wouldn’t hold my breath.”

      10

      0

      • It’s been reported that the powerful American workers unions traditionally supporting the Democrats have switched sides behind President Trump. He has done more for the American blue collar worker in 3 years than the Dems have achieved in decades.

We have literally gone back in time to before the advent of the convenience of the plastic supermarket bag to carry your groceries home in. Don’t worry about how much you buy, we’ll supply the bags – Brilliant marketing! • 12 months since 15 March? So we’re going to be bombarded 7 weeks shy. They must be desperate to promote the “darling of the left” 🤢 if they are beginning the build-up this far out. She hasn’t aged well if that photo was less than 3 years ago.

Yes, Electioneering by Taxpayer funded TV has begun:

“On the face of it, Ardern should be a shoo-in. She has the benefit of incumbency in a country that has returned every first-term government for over 40 years.
The Kiwi economy is purring above OECD averages and boasts low unemployment. And a spending reticence has allowed the government to build up a bumper surplus, which it will release into the economy during the election year.
But it’s never as easy as it seems. The opposition National party is ahead of Labour in many polls, even if leader Simon Bridges has yet to build a rapport with voters.”

Oh, wait no, they’re too busy protesting against the ‘possible’ intention to resume ‘controlled burn-offs’… Not actually helping in the reconcostruction of the areas or families burn-out by the blazes, but protesting to ‘protect gaia’, before returning to their inner-city homes in Sydney, Melbourne or Canberra.
