    • Hopefully more and more people are seeing the MSM as irrelevant, but also selectively evil.
You can see why Labour wanted to start another media channel to give even more propaganda.
It really is time that TVNZ was closed or sold off.
We should not be paying for the government to inlfuence us

      • Do a bit of reading about Operation Mockingbird. I don’t believe it is just the left – they’re just the most blatant about wanting to control the narrative. Big Government wants to control you and they can do that by managing what you see and what you believe.

      • DigNap15, re the MSM becoming irrelevant, wasn’t it heartening to hear about those Aucklanders who rang Emergency services when their skies turned orange recently?

Clearly they hadn’t been watching ONE News (well, ONE News’ version of the News) because they had, for days beforehand, been detailing the same thing happening in the South Island and the lower North Island.

          • You seem to, like me, ‘be of an age’, Dig.

Wellington’s then ‘Evening Post’ had a classic Neville Lodge one certain day in 1969.

A packed commuter train, everyone avidly reading their copies of, natch, ‘The Evening Post’ … and one chap, seeing the banner headlines, exclaims ‘Well, I never! Man is on the MOON?’

  1. Oh 98 years later and we are still here, seals are still about and you can still buy/catch white fish. I personally have not noticed too much global warming around here this summer actually its bloody cold this morning for a summers day, I guess all the heating must still be in the gulf stream. Good on you Bob Norton

    • Maybe all that piss and wind we get from Winston and Jacinda is turning to ice and creating cold air, is that what helps them create the not so feel good sensation.

  2. Where are you going to read about events between the US and Iran that is relatively unbiased? (Or, at least has a declared bias)

    10

    0

    • A very good question.
And one that i think there is no answer to.
Everyone writes or thinks with some sort of bias.
This applies to all history books as well

      7

      0

      • I agree with that. I have a Trump bias in my thinking. I ask myself “what’s in it for him” taking on all this shit at his age. He is a successful businessman, not a lying politician.
He has no hidden agenda, unlike his predecessors who were all donkey deep in corruption for years.

        16

        • I’ve wondered the same. The two things I come up with are fun and fixing broken things. He seems to genuinely enjoy poking the Left and watching them squirm in impotent rage. And I think what started as a bit of a lark, has a man that actually wants to drain that vile swamp now that he has the chance to do so.

Only quibble, while he is rich and has taken risks and is wealthy – as a comparison to his peers he has under-performed as a business man. That happens when you take risks though, right? The one that pays off makes up for the 10 that didn’t.

          7

          0

          • Yes every successful business person has had at least one failure. It’s how you handle that failure that defines you. Most would give up after the first failure, but not Trump.

            11

            0

            • I have a bias toward Trump also, I do wonder if he got in to power and thought holy hell this is far worse than I ever imagined with all the corruption etc going on at the hill and decided to hell with it he would make the most of his time there and actually do something to weed out the swamp feeders regardless of what some people think of him. In the future he will be looked upon as a great president.

              4

              0

              • Surprisingly to many it is not private business men who are corrupt as elected government and officials. The “swamp” believed it was untouchable and had all their corrupt practices sewn up to their advantage. They really detest jumped up Trump ruining their illegal retirement funding scheme. “Impeach, impeach, impeach”

  3. I think I read that Tony Heller showed some newspaper clippings of temperature of 50 degrees in Melbourne 100 years ago.
And its a little bit cool her at nights in Tauranga,

And the ED’s opening post for today shows the evil of the climate change movement in being selective as to their data.

  4. So apparently the scientist who spoke out against the lack of burn-back is wrong. And the reports on the number of fires that have been set by people are wrong. And the percentages from 2015 are wrong. And all these fires are made worse by climate change, the Greens have done nothing wrong. And a third of twitter accounts talking about this are bots run by climate change deniers.

    Because this fireman says so.

    11

  5. These graphs on the US economy are interesting and quick peeks into what has happened. Not sure about the conclusions, particularly #5 on the stock market. You compare the gains under Obama over a 7 year period to the 3 year period under Trump and you wouldn’t paint that as a negative, would you?

Anyway, I would love to see those graphs done for New Zealand as well. Does anyone have a contact at the Tax Payers Union that may be able to get those organised?

  6. Prince Harry, Meghan Markle to ‘step back’ from Royal Family
    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/entertainment/2020/01/prince-harry-meghan-markle-to-step-back-from-royal-family.html

“Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are stepping back as “senior members of the royal family”.

The pair made the announcement via a “personal message” that was also posted on the Sussex Royal Instagram. They say they will “work to become financially independent, while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen”.

ITV’s royal editor Chris Ship says this is the equivalent of “resigning” from the family.”

Is anyone surprised, or care? Meghan Markel has made it clear from the time she married Prince Harry that she is more important than the royal family.

  8. Absolute corruption.
To think NZ through NZ First, Winston Peters, and supported by Adern signed a UN Global Migration Pact with this lot

….. EU promises to improve detention centres notorious for abuse and fight human trafficking. …
…. That hasn’t happened. Instead, the misery of migrants in Libya has spawned a thriving and highly lucrative web of businesses funded in part by the EU and enabled by the United Nations, an Associated Press investigation has found. ….
….. 327.9 million euros to Libya, with an additional 41 million approved in early December, largely channeled through U.N. agencies. …..
……. diverted to intertwined networks of militiamen, traffickers and coast guard members who exploit migrants. In some cases, U.N. officials knew militia networks were getting the money, according to internal emails. …..
….. militias torture, extort and otherwise abuse migrants for ransoms in detention centres under the nose of the U.N., often in compounds that receive millions in European money …

    https://ca.news.yahoo.com/european-money-spawns-more-misery-063011829.html

The EU, the UN say everything is highly complex. yeah right.
Still sort of hidden is the encouragement by many of the Western leaders of migration to the Western World and that is including our own!

NZ should not get into this quagmire of “quicksand” of migration simply because of the iliberals in academia, media, judiciary, politicians, that all lobby, lever, and ratchet to achieve their very different agendas, being like the camel that just puts its nose into the tent, for the moment. 🙁

    • Why not look after the German citizen first?, the ones that rebuilt out of the rubble and paid their taxes.
And they think they can ride the tiger of immigration with a few law tweaks and changes.

What do you think will happen if there is no change? …..
We‘ll get older as a country, and will fall behind as a society as well as an economy.
The longer we don’t address the obvious issues, the stronger the far right will get – if we fail to facilitate legal immigration, illegal immigration will rise.
Right-wing parties will get stronger, and we will get weaker as a country and as a European Union.

      https://www.thelocal.de/20200107/germany-needs-500000-new-immigrants-every-year

Was he one that pushed back on Merkel when she said years ago that mulit culture was a failure and then endorsed the flip flop of the Merkel’s “welcome refugee”?
Another politician with no principles, seeking controlling power, and taxes as he supports part of Merkel’s immigration concepts, with a few tweaks.

    https://www.tvnz.co.nz/one-news/new-zealand/nz-porn-site-operator-charged-in-us-sex-trafficking-extradited-if-hes-country

“He is currently “a fugitive” and is believed to have left the US, where he had lived since 2007, after being indicted with criminal charges in October last year.
Associate US Attorney Alexandra Foster said New Zealand police have been co-operating with the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, but she would not say whether they believed Pratt was in New Zealand.
Foster did say extradition would be sought if he was found to be in the country.”

    • That’s the guy who ran the porn site that pressured vulnerable women into having sex on camera and who broke their guarantee the videos would never be shared. It was covered a few days ago. He’s a vile specimen and if what has been alleged is true deserves to be behind bars for a very long time.

    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/entertainment/2020/01/prince-harry-meghan-s-shock-decision-declaration-of-war-outages-queen-report.html

The source said: “It breaks all protocol. This is a declaration of war on the family.”
“There is fury over how they’ve done this without any thought for the implications for the institution. The Queen is deeply upset. The Prince of Wales and Duke of Cambridge are incandescent with rage.”

      • Inside sources?
Granny had removed any photos of her previous favourite grandson and his new wife from any media over the Christmas period. I see Harry in the video saying it would be difficult to live in Africa. I got the distinct feeling a palace might just look a teensy-wee bit out of place among the rest of the local housing. 🤑

        3

        0

        • The claim that Granny had removed their photos was completely fabricated.
The collection of photos showed only the three generations next in line.
There were no photos of Harry and Meg, but there weren’t any of the Queen’s other grandchildren of great grandchildren either.

    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/new-zealand/2020/01/top-cop-spotted-pruning-hedges-in-otago-instead-of-giving-tickets.html
“I noticed the bush was reducing visibility around that corner a couple of days ago while out and about,” Senior Sergeant Glenn Wilkinson told Newshub. So I grabbed a pair of secateurs from home and went out there yesterday.”

  14. Very interesting article on the CORANZ web site. How many times have you been told that possums eat birds eggs? My personal experience indicates that no, they don’t. The DOC claim is based on one single filmed incident years ago of a possum eating some chicks in a nest. That particular possum was shot because the film maker did not want other possums learning the behaviour.
Now here is an experiment worth looking at:

  16. I see there is a new video on the Maga website regarding the UN Migration Pact. The Migration Pact allows anyone from anywhere who wants to live in NZ to do so and it is illegal for any NZ’er to question their RIGHT to do so. Winston Peters sneaked off to New York to sign NZ up to the insidious UN Global Migration Pact without consulting any of us.

Winston Peters, the grizzled hypocrite of NZ First who wins his seat on his anti-immigration stand has signed NZ up for Open Borders!!

    9

    0

    • Just waiting for it to be tested, and set precedents in NZ law.
Some will lose, but some will win, and so then a new precedent is set.

All leverage, and ratchets, using Winston Peters, New Zealand First’s long rope to tangle, restrain New Zealand sovereignty and give it over to the United Nations.

      6

      0

    • This really is truly evil
I saw some prick from the UE saying that its not binding.
But one day the EU will make it biding
Ad then they will try to make it binding in the rest of the world

      5

      0

      • It isn’t binding – which defeats the purpose of signing it, no? However the UN have previous form for making non-binding agreements binding. They did it with a gun-control one, if I recall correctly.

Have you read the actual compact though? I’ve had a scan through it and I like the core principles. Disclaimer, I’m an immigrant from the third world so would not be allowed in your version of New Zealand.

        * Consistency in how migration is handled
        * Reducing discrimination
        * Retaining national sovereignty and control over migration
        * etc.

The language isn’t always very clear though and there’s enough caveats and “according to international standards” type of weasel words thrown in that no nation should be signing it.

They used part of the public funds to fight off attempts to deport them to Ethiopia where they were born.

The colossal legal aid sum to jihadi sisters Yeshi and Mulu Girma and their brother Esayas is thought to be one of Britain’s biggest.

  18. Aided and abetted by family, probably because it is “normal” to be deceptive about islam’s aims to be supreme.

Chowdhury told undercover officers that he had indeed been trying to carry out a terrorist attack in 2017 and that he had ‘deceived’ the earlier jury that acquitted him of it, the court was told.
[also previous was a hung jury so think on of all those costs]

Chowdhury is accused of accused of preparing acts of terrorism and his sister Sneha Chowdhury, 25, is accused of failing to disclose information

What deceptions Ardern weaves, with her “Christchurch Call” and the videos play on.

The prosecutor said that Chowdhury went on to play them the full video of the Christchurch mosque far-right terrorist attack. ……
…… [from side article] Mr Atkinson said that that Chowdhury complained to the officers about how difficult it is to get a gun in the UK, but assured them he would be able to get hold of one.
After sharing a video on the Telegram channel of ISIS throwing a gay man off a building,

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7864451/Uber-driver-planned-terror-attacks-Madame-Tussauds-Pride.html

An interesting read, as “play the game” and so draws out many of the deceptions, and tricks of slipping past the security and judiciary.
The fortunate part he talked to the wrong ones, even though he was canny.
Next time? another one? all in training and practice, will it be learnt of in time?

For a mentally delayed person, certainly knew how to work the English system, so as to implement his hope for the success of islam in terror, and to the glory of allah.

The police, security systems, judiciary, intelligence ops, undercover, must be a very high cost, and so relentlessly bleeds and ties up the establishment.
