      • With the serious tensions between Iran/Iraq and the US bringing the world potentially to the brink of a war our PTPM didn’t bother to cut her 8 week holiday short and return to take the helm. Why didn’t anyone notice? Where is the outrage from the MSM? Surely The PTPM cannot justify not being in her office at a time like this. Anyone in the media notice her absence during a potential world crisis?? Hello!

      • It’s a bit early to call Iran out for not handing over the flight data and cockpit voice recorders. In the normal course of events their own aviation enquiry will be underway, and it still needs to be determined who will take the lead in the enquiry.
        The plane was Ukrainian, left an Iraqi airfield, with Canadian, Ukrainian, Iranian and Uk pax aboard, and crashed in Iran.
        The most likely explanation seems to involve an air defence missile being automatically triggered, but you have to wonder why Ukraine took the very risky step of using that airspace, when everyone else grounded their planes knowing there was potential for military action.

        • There are relatively few laboratories in the world capable of reading and analysing the data on the so called black boxes. I very much doubt that Iran has the capability so it makes no sense for them to hang on to the black boxes, unless they have something to hide of course.

    And in 18 years the furthest I’ve gone onto the Awhiru Penninsula was Glenbrook, for the historical railway. This weekend a group of us are meeting at the Bombay BP to take a ride out to the Manukau Heads Lighthouse. It’s the first time in a couple of years that I’m going on a group ride and I am so excited to be going. Last one was Paws for Justice in 2018, which was a squizillion motorcycles.
