  1. Just a thought on Jacinda and the Labour party, if the Prime Minister has decided to take eight weeks holiday which has been quite often spoken about is this step to far for Maori or will they just put up with Labours continual disregard and knowing that no matter what they do they will always have the Maori Vote. Now the reasons I say this is because Waitangi day is in a couple of weeks, then the trip to Ratana which if the PM is on holiday she won’t be attending either. Will Maori end up be hypocrites again and let the PM off if it does happen or will they finally speak up like they do when they don’t appreciate a National Prime Minister.

    • @happychappy – I was **hugely** disappointed when the Maori (and Pasifika) communities said **nothing** when charter schools were axed. Schools where the students showing the greatest gains were Maori and Pasifika students!

-**WHEN WILL THEY LEARN** that Labour and the Left just do **window-dressing** when it comes to Maori and Pasifika people? The CoL do the “kia oras” and “tena koes” but when it comes to REAL stuff that helps the poor, they do **nothing**.

Of course, we know that this is **deliberate** – they want to keep the “welfare plantation” in place. I put up a post about the “welfare plantation” on Trademe’s forum yesterday.
The lefties keep the low-income people poor and “farm them” for **votes** instead of cotton.
Minorities in the States are **waking up** to this – Trump’s support among blacks is now 34% (IIRC) and I think Latino support is close to that too.
Time for minorities HERE to wake up and realise that they are being SCREWED by the Left.

  2. Yes we must call her the Part Time Prime Minister as much as possible when we comment ion here and other sites.
Also, from now I be will calling the COL not our government, but our Socialist Regime
(in view of the attacks on Free speech)
Regime has bad connotations, so I think its a good term to use.

McLellan is prepared for a fight.

“We just need to make contact with them and let them know Labour is the party of aspiration.”

I got this from Stuff this morning.
Since when has Labour been the pardee of aspiration?

  4. Seems like Mr de Boer might have the makings of an ACT candidate, sign him up David!

“I’m the first of a new breed of young gun-totin’, Bible-bashin’, conservative family men fighting against left-wing regressives. Either that or I’m making a heroic last stand for freedom as the sun sets on Christian civilisation. You can find more of me on Right Minds NZ.

Right Minds NZ is a broad church right-wing movement for New Zealand conservatives, libertarians, traditionalists, capitalists, and nationalists: people who share our Christian values, believe in personal responsibility, and want to see government play a lesser role in our lives.”

    • Absolutely disgusting that he was described by the legacy, soon to be culled, media outlets as “founder of a FAR RIGHT blog”.

Another example of the narrative that now classes anyone who identifies as conservative as “far right”.

I think the idea of all references to this shambles of a government as “the Socialist Regime” has complete merit. It’s time there was some real push back.

      • Lodge a formal complaint with RNZ. If (when) they decline push it up to the Media Council. If enough of us do it, maybe we’ll get a back down and a retraction published. Maybe we get them fined. Don’t know, but just writing comments about it won’t get it done anymore, I think. We need to start holding them to account.

      • To describe a religious conservative as a libertarian is to mangle the language unmercifully. A true libertarian believes in person autonomy, self responsibility, civil liberties & getting the state out of individual’s lives.

Religious nutters substitute their imaginary Skydaddy for the state & are willing to expand government without limit in order to impose their personal morality on all others.

Their “liberty” involves less freedom of thought or action than enjoyed by the average slave!

    • Greta Thunberg:

You have declared yourself a leader and said that your generation will start a revolution. You have comported yourself as a credentialed adult and climate change activist who has fearlessly addressed politicians and world leaders. You have dropped out of school and declared that there isn’t any reason to attend, or any reason for you to study since there will be no future for you to inherit. You have, rather than attend your classes, been leading Friday Climate Strikes for all students in your generation across the globe. Your attendance at oil pipelines has been striking. There, you unequivocally declare that all oil needs to remain in the ground where it belongs.

I shall, therefore, against the backdrop of your activism, address you as an adult rather than as a child.

In September of 2019 you crossed the Atlantic in a “zero carbon” racing yacht that had no toilet and electric light on board. You made an impassioned plea at the United Nations in which you claimed that, “we have stolen your dreams and our childhood with our empty words.” You claimed that adults and world leaders come to young people for answers and explained in anger: “How dare you!” You claimed that we are failing you and that young people are beginning to understand our betrayal. You further declared that if we continue to fail your generation: “We will never forgive you.”

You have stated that you want us to panic, and to act as if our homes are on fire. You insist that rich countries must reduce to zero emissions immediately. In your speeches you attack economic growth and have stated that our current climate crisis is caused by “buying and building things.” You call for climate justice and equity, without addressing the worst polluter on the planet China; the country that is economically annexing much of Africa and Latin America. You dare not lecture Iran about its uranium projects — because that’s not part of the UN’s agenda, is it?

You proclaim that we need to live within the planetary boundaries, to focus on equity and “take a few steps back” for the sake of all living species. You resent the hierarchical distinctions between human and animals and entertain no qualitative distinction between a monkey, a malaria-infested mosquito and a snarling hyena. You mouth slogans such as: “We have set in motion an irreversible chain reaction beyond control,” and you advocate for universal veganism on the Ellen DeGeneres show. You do not buy new clothes, and you don’t want the rest of us to either. You want us all to stop flying in jet planes without giving us an alternative as to how we would re-transform our financial and trading systems—to say nothing of our personal enjoyment of the world—without regression to a primeval era. Few can afford to cross the Atlantic in a $6M zero carbon yacht financed by rich people who made their wealth by the very means you condemn as loathsome.

There are a few things that we, the rational adults of the world who are not bowing to you like guilt-ridden obsequious Babbitts need to say to you, Greta.

First, we did not rob you of your childhood or of your dreams. You are the legatee of a magnificent technological civilization which my generation and the one before it and several others preceding it all the way to the Industrial Revolution and the Renaissance, bequeathed to you. That growth-driven, capitalist technological civilization has created the conditions for you to harangue us over our betrayal. It is a civilization that eradicated diseases such as small pox from the word, and that lifted millions out of abject poverty in a universe you think is dying and decaying. It assured you a life expectancy that exceeded that of your ancestors. Most likely by focusing on economic growth which you demonize, and scientific advancement, that civilization will further enhance a robust quality of life and health for your descendants.

Here is a hard truth to ponder, Greta: if the great producers of this world whom you excoriate were to withdraw their productivity, wealth and talents—in short—their minds from the world today, your generation would simply perish. Why? Because as children you have done nothing as yet, with your lives besides being born. This is what we expect of children until such time as they can be producers by learning from their elders. You are understandably social and ecological ballast. You are not yet cognitively advanced to replicate the structures of survival of which you are the beneficiaries.

Children are important installments on the future. We have invested in you. It is you and your smug generation which think they have nothing to learn from the older ones who are failing themselves. Whom do you expect to employ the majority of you if you have neither the job credentials or life competency skills to navigate the world? The future unemployable-skipping- school-on-Friday obstreperous children?

The truth, as one anonymous blogger aptly put it, is that your generation is unable to work up to forty hours per week without being chronically depressed and anxious. Its members cannot even decide if they want to be a boy or a girl, or both, or neither, or a “they.” They cannot eat meat without crying. I might add that your generation needs “trigger warnings” and “safe spaces” as pre-conditions for learning in school. Its members have a pathological need to be coddled and protected from the challenging realities of life. Your generation is the biggest demander and consumer of carbon spewing technological gadgets and devices. An hour without any of them and too many of you succumb to paralyzing lethargy. Your generation is the least curious and most insular set of individuals one has ever encountered. Your hubris extends so far that you think you have nothing to learn from your elders.

Yes, we have betrayed you: by capitulating the world of leadership to bored, attention-deficit children who spout bromides, platitudes and slogans that a rudderless and morally relativistic culture accepts because a significant number of its denizens have become intellectually bankrupt and morally lazy.

The logical endpoint of your ecological vision would see us living in primeval conditions eking out an existence in jungle swamps in which we would regard poisonous snakes and man-eating tigers as our moral equals. We would have to adapt ourselves to nature rather than adapt nature to meet our needs, like all members of civilized civilizations do. Your vision would see us foraging for mushrooms and plants without knowing which were inimical to our digestive systems. Under your system we would swelter from heat, die from rampant plagues and starvation because there will be no air-conditioning units, no sophisticated plumbing and irrigations and sewer systems, no anti-bacterial soap made from animal matter, no pesticides and chemicals to sanitize our food and drinking supplies: just one primordial swamp of human putrefaction.

If civilization is left in the hands of your ecofascist supporters we will be living in grass huts, drinking animal feces infested water, and shrinking in fear from polar bears instead of killing them for food when they attack us.

Greta, living in complete harmony with nature is the death of creativity. Understand this. All great civilizations were forged in the crucibles of proper exploitation of the earth. Those who lived on land with oil and did nothing with it never had a right to it in the first place. Non-usage of God’s resources is the cardinal sin because it results in the un-development of our human capabilities, and makes us indistinguishable from beasts.

Your generation needs to be taught the morality of wealth creation, rather than only parasitically benefiting from it. The only revolution you will lead is one into nihilism and civilization regression. You need to learn about the moral case for fossil fuel. You owe it to yourself to understand how as, Kathleen Hartnett White has detailed, the harnessing of the vast store of concentrated energy in fossil fuels allowed mankind, for the first time in human history, to escape intractable constraints and energy limits that had left all but the very privileged in total poverty and depravity. Before the Industrial Revolution all societies were dependent on a very limited flow of solar energy captured in living plants for subsistence needs such as food, fuel and shelter.

But we, the creative enterprisers, will not go back to the Dark Ages. Your philosophy can be summed up as follows:

What was good for my anthropoid ancestors is good for me. Do not rock the boat, or even build one as that will require cutting down a tree. Do not disrupt nature. Do not dare to see the earth as rightfully belonging to us. We don’t have the right to use our brains in a manner that can transform our needs into a material form. Let’s conveniently forget that production is the application of reason to the problems of survival. Let’s all diminish the grandeur of man and his luminous potential. Crush the Thomas Edisons of this world.

The apocalyptic world vision you hold has been a strip landing for those who have hated progress throughout history. Your apocalyptic predictions have been made for millennia, and, we’re still here. We will still be here long after you’ve grown up and we have forgiven you for skipping classes, thereby lowering the intelligence quotient of an entire generation.

    • And so they have rolled.

Credit Suisse [rolled] said in a statement that it “is seeking to align its loan portfolios with the objectives of the Paris Agreement and has recently announced in the context of its global climate strategy that it will no longer invest in new coal-fired power plants”.

I [Federer, rolled] have a great deal of respect and admiration for the youth climate movement, and I am grateful to young climate activists for pushing us all to examine our behaviours and act on innovative solutions.

He gave an inch, and though canny, still he rolled and supported Extinction Rebellion. and they now have the leverage.

      Where will it end?
Where does any evangelistic cult end, as it systems demand all to be a part of it, to have global power & control?
Then it will force every one to imbibe the “kool-aid”

      • The core problem they have is humanity will not exist with their ideals in place. All the tools, technology, transport, medicine, etc. that they use are manufactured using the very systems they are trying to abolish. The only way for their cult to end is through some 12 Monkeys like destruction of the majority of human life and I can’t see the Greta Thunberg addicts, nor even Greta Thunberg herself, giving up their mobile phones, social media and entertainment for this fake science.

Alternatively, you can hope they see they’re being manipulated by big money, looking to take the 1% and make them the 0.1%. But I believe Greta Thunberg and her adherents are far too brainwashed for this.

  6. At the height of the “Ice Age Alarmism” the fires were much more in Australia.
Just compare and contrast this graph for year by year fires in Australia.

    https://www.drroyspencer.com/wp-content/uploads/Australia-bushfires-hectares-burned-by-year-scaled.jpg?fbclid=IwAR0XBmp9aRTiATLurtapJHhfbAdpaAahY_qwuDbWlldPMHSXD5rXrvF9My0

The graph is from this article as the Climate Change flip flop, trying to gain leverage to terrorize and control people.
Are Australia Bushfires Worsening from Human-Caused Climate Change?
    January 8th, 2020 by Roy W. Spencer, Ph. D.
    Summary Points

    1) Global wildfire activity has decreased in recent decades, making any localized increase (or decrease) in wildfire activity difficult to attribute to ‘global climate change’.

    2) Like California, Australia is prone to bushfires every year during the dry season. Ample fuel and dry weather exists for devastating fires each year, even without excessive heat or drought, as illustrated by the record number of hectares burned (over 100 million) during 1974-75 when above-average precipitation and below-average temperatures existed.

    3) Australian average temperatures in 2019 were well above what global warming theory can explain, illustrating the importance of natural year-to-year variability in weather patterns (e.g. drought and excessively high temperatures).

    4) Australia precipitation was at a record low in 2019, but climate models predict no long-term trend in Australia precipitation, while the observed trend has been upward, not downward. This again highlights the importance of natural climate variability to fire weather conditions, as opposed to human-induced climate change.
    .
    5) While reductions in prescribed burning have probably contributed to the irregular increase in the number of years with large bush fires, a five-fold increase in population in the last 100 years has greatly increased potential ignition sources, both accidental and purposeful.

  7. Saw this on a photo today and did a bit of background reading. Compare Greta Thunberg with Boyan Slat.

At age 16, she’s a mouthpiece for hot air. She hasn’t achieved much for the environment, but a Google search for her gives 98,700,000 results.

At age 16, he started designing a machine to clean the worlds oceans using circulating ocean currents. A year later TED talks and a year later he started his company. In 2019, after a few failures, they successfully started collecting plastic from the oceans. He gets about 686,000 mentions on Google.

    Quoted:

“Technology is the most potent agent of change. It is an amplifier of our human capabilities. Whereas other change-agents rely on reshuffling the existing building blocks of society, technological innovation creates entirely new ones, expanding our problem-solving toolbox.

  8. Team, I don’t think we can be the silent majority any longer. I think we need to start pushing back on each and every instance where the Left are trying to infiltrate and fuck up our lives. Every biased media article needs to have (all / many / most) of us lodging a complaint. That needs to be escalated if they fob it off. Companies that are attacked by woke people like Credit Suisse and Roger Federer above need to have us send them messages of support. I don’t think we can stay quiet and expect that our society will carry on.

    • @happychappy – I find that the “increasing the minimum wage” thing is one of the easier things to fend off.

You just tell people about the automated checkouts at supermarkets, increasing because of this very thing. Maccas has automated “ordering kiosks” now too so that must have displaced a few workers.

Then there’s Joe Blogg’s Cafe where Joe can no longer afford to pay all of his staff the increased wage, so he has to fire one or two.

    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/2020/01/national-questions-timing-of-minimum-wage-report.html

Yes, if you keep incraseing wages then all we will get is less jobs, higher prices and more automation.

What we need to do is Increase our disposable income.

    Lower our costs
    Rent, groceries,

The net result if that we will be paying people on benefits $800 a week
When people around the world that actually work and make stuff get $4 an hour ie $160 a week

    10

    0

    • “Families right across the country are struggling. Studies done by organisations like the Salvation Army show that the average family of four on minimum wage, after paying their rent and power are left with around $39 a week to buy groceries.”

There is the fucking problem, right there.

If you are on the minimum wage, you shouldn’t be a family of four. You should be a family of two, saving what you can and living simple so you can eventually afford to become a family of three.

” He gained some prominence in the union movement, but got himself in legal trouble after forging letters by a local politician.

He then scuttled away to Sydney. He became heavily involved in socialist circles and the Labor Party, where he was almost selected as a candidate for Parliament.

But once again, he was forced to flee. He had been publishing a newspaper called Hard Cash which spread false rumours about Sydney banks.”

      0

    • I was just reading the same article. It’s fascinating how another nutter in NZ who, as waikatogirl has said, was a raging, committed, lefty and socialist is tied to “white supremacy”.

      Quotes:

“He had no education, no personal assets, no skills at anything in particular, and yet he dreamed of himself becoming an all powerful leader.”
“He was a democratic socialist who advocated for the poor and attacked rich and powerful land barons as corrupt and unfair. ”
“He gained some prominence in the union movement, but got himself in legal trouble after forging letters by a local politician. ”
“He became heavily involved in socialist circles and the Labor Party, where he was almost selected as a candidate for Parliament.”

He sounds like a Labour Party member. Just like Tarrant.

  10. As I have mentioned before, to get your voice heard, I believe you have to expose the media for what they are.
Puppets and echo chambers guided by a group, that is hell bent on promoting a regime that is systematically dismantling western culture.
“Babylon bee” recently posted a satirical article that mocked the media and the left.
A made up scenario that was littered with facts and farcical actions taken by people of influence.
If you state, even in small print, that the article is satire, you can avoid the wrath of the giant and censorship.

CNN went nuts, because the tongue in cheek article, got more views in a day than CNN gets in a week.

My point is, there are some pretty smart blog posters that can write soft offence comments, highlighting the ridiculousness of a governments action or inaction of policies and remain relatively unscathed.
Subtle exaggeration, and selective hit pieces with sting, can be hidden in the context.

Just a suggestion. Something to ponder. (Where is Different Perspective?)

I am trying to find out how we could use Twitter and Facebook here in NZ.
Look at the traction the turn Ardern guy got!

We need to expose the socialism agenda of this Regime
We need to expose their anti families laws that may get a large portion of the PI vote.
We need to get on to left wing blogs and hit them with some hard facts
We need to keep pressure on NZ First and their “donations” get them under 4%
We need to keep pressure on Labour with their abuse cover up (the women’s vote)
We need to keep emphasing that workers are paying for benefices to stay home and watch the Blues on their couch

Somehow we need to get the MAGA site to be viewed by lots of people.
And we need to find out what makes people change their mind in the polling booth?
We need to make sure that National (Paula Bennet hire Toppam Guerrin as their web campaign managers
We need to keep Turning Ardern (but it could back fire in the long term – sympathy for poor Jacinda…)

How is that for a start?

But, this is a juggernaut we are dealing with.

Globalism is fracturing due to countries opting out of the quest for imagined Utopia.
I trust no politician today, past events have supported this view.
This enemy of the people has crept it’s way into the psyche of the influential and media are
            the no.1 prevaricator.

            6

            0

            • The socialists have 40 year head start. They surreptitiously, secretly put their plan in place to take over our institutions, government and make the world a global socialist nirvana. They knew the peoples of the world would not stand for their countries being homogenised to become all be the same, a one world order. Those with long memories know communism does NOT work, it is lethal for the masses and individualism.

  11. A comment from dave on KB’s thread about the police raid on DdeB’s house.

“The really worrying thing about this is that the Woke are crawling all over online cheering the police and saying they should have shot him. For example there are 584 mostly alarming comments on the RNZ story on this right now. See the RNZ FB page, story posted about 2pm yesterday.

They are actually saying he is in league with Brendon Tarrant! ”

Now will FB treat that as hate speech (or RNZ for that matter) and remove it. Of course not , it written by one of the leftie luvvies.

    • We’re also not a charity. She is Tongan and came here, paying for her medical care herself. Why is it New Zealands’ responsibility to look after her for the next 30 years? It is harsh, but it is true man. We really can’t take care of the rest of the world. We can’t even take care of New Zealanders.

      8

      • Yes that is true…. she paid for her medical car herself. Surely if she was allowed to stay here with her family then they would get jobs and work to support her?

You are commenting about words from the lying media filth.
          The MSM.
          The enemy of honesty.

What percentage of this ‘story’ do you think is correct?
How much of the truth do you think is left out?

The kids have been getting free education from the NZ taxpayer for 4 years.

I’m willing to bet there is a hospital bill well in excess of NZD100,000 and with spinal surgery and after care and followups over 4 years it is highly likely the bill is well in excess of $500,000

          They will never pay this.
They will never be able to.
It will float around on a DHB debt list for a few years (as an asset/collectable) then written off as uncollectable.
This will not be reported by the enemy of truth = media filth.

They are advocating , not ‘reporting’
This is what media filth do.

Dave, have you ever done debating; or sold a product/service; or presented like at a gun submissions hearing?
You dont answer their questions for them. You present one side. Advocacy.
This is what happens in rotten media of the 21st century.
You should know this by now.

While is it fine to have compassion for this person (it is a pretty rotten situation that life has delivered to her and the family when she was merely placing some social netball, not doing something stupid) however there are three adult children who could step in and help out.

These are two unhealthy people in their 50s who will never make a positive contribution to New Zealand.
Lets deal in facts, not emotion.
Over $500,000 of facts. Spinal injury and 4 years care. Likely 7 figure cost in reality and to keep on costing.

          PS
It is not like they can complain to the Marxist hotbed of the UN:-

“Tonga is one of seven countries to lose their votes at the United Nations General Assembly because it hasn’t paid its fees.
The United Nations said the seven were so far behind in paying their dues that they are losing their voting privileges in the 193-member General Assembly.”

“A payment of over $US16,000 would be enough for Tonga to regain its voting privileges.”

A country with barely a pot to piss in and I have been there 3 times for a total of over one month.
It has regressed upon each visit and I would not go back.
But hey it is Kingdom and sovereign nation.

  14. “Death To Liars!” Iran Swept By Wave Of Protests Demanding Ayatollah Quit Over Airplane Downing

One regional report cited an Iranian protester’s grievances as follows:

“They were so careful not to kill any American in their revenge for Soleimani. But they did not close the airport? This shows how much this regime cares for Iranians,” said Iranian citizen Mira Sedaghati after the Iranian military admitted mistakenly shooting down the jet.

It also appears Iran’s significant political opposition in exile is seizing on the dramatic events of this week, with exiled Persian Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi issuing a statement on Saturday saying, “This is not human error. This is a crime against humanity.”

He added in the Twitter statement: “He who has irresponsibly empowered his thugs to fire at will at innocents bears full responsibility. Enough is Enough. Khamenei and his regime must go.”

  15. Hi all –

I’ve come up with this idea for helping to undermine Cindy – a satirical party called the “Regressive Party” that would have the same policies as Labour and the Greens.
Note – this would NOT be an “official registered party” – it would exist only “virtually” as it were. Doesn’t matter – it could still have influence…….

I mentioned the idea of a satirical party a while ago but was thinking of calling it the Knuckledraggers Party. I think the Regressives is a much better name – it plays off the “progressive” label that lefties like to give themselves and it tells the TRUTH about the policies.

The “aim” of the party would be to “take NZ backwards 100 years”, and we could SHOW that Labour’s policies are “on track” in that respect. Heck, there is even a **measles epidemic** – how much more regressive can you get!

There is a problem however. I have depression and so am not in a position to either “front” the “party” or to run a website for it (though I’d consider helping with a website if needed). However, the idea is out there and I hugely welcome anyone “running with it”.
( Edit – just realised – actually, a leader isn’t NEEDED if the party is just “virtual”.
The only thing needed is an online presence. )

  16. To add to my list of things that I will be doing this year to get rid of the COL
Is bombard National mps (using my 4 email addresses)
and especially Mellissa Lee – communications
    And their education spokesman.
    That they need to
    Make Charter schools legal again,
Convert 100 schools a year to Charter Schools
    Or even all of them
Sack all University boards and re-appoint non left wing members and ensure a balanced male female ratio
Appoint a right wing male chairman to TVNZ
And give them a one month warning
Report new and current affairs fairly – eg all panels 4 members 2 from each side.
Or sell them in 2 months if no buyer close them down.

I would add to make the teachers unions illegal

None of this will help for this election.
But at least it will halt the constant flow of socialists namby pambies from our schools and may tip the balance more fairly in the future.

A horrid habit where the spouting party says ‘everybody knows; or, nobody likes’
It is a tactic to alienate people that dont fit the ‘popular view’
The climate change idiots use it and in many other areas.
It is used by fools with TDS.
Your mates on Al Jazzera might use the tactic 🙂

Better use of English is many people, or few people.

I remind him that he is not Chinese because Xi Jinping told me Taiwan is not China.
He has a sense of humour.
I play golf with another Taiwanese guy, some Malaysian Chinese.
              Good guys.

I better not say I dont like Indians though or Tall Man might come back and dox me then haunt me.
This opinion is based on no opinion of Indians in 1995 because I did not know any but as I meet them there is little make me want to engage further.
They cheat at golf and pretty much anything else they are involved in.
              IMHO. Based on observation.

  19. We buy everything with a credit card. All our bills get pad by credit card. We get points for it and as long as the merchant absorbs the 2.5%, we use it.

We had so many points, Mama Bear picked up a Weber Smokey Mountain grill for me. What a clever little thing it is. With the middle layer you can smoke and do that very well. Without it you have a readily portable charcoal kettle.

It is brilliant. I am sitting on the deck with a beer watching it smoke now. Chicken tonight!

    https://www.tvnz.co.nz/one-news/new-zealand/gun-ban-search-warrant-raises-legal-questions-lawyer-says

Mr Geddis said this example raised the difficult nature of the relationship between the courts and parliament.

“In particular, where something has been said in parliamentary proceedings that we could justifiably want the police to be looking at – how exactly you draw those lines between protecting the ability of people to go in front of parliament, speak openly and fully without the fear of legal repercussions, versus having the police able to take action against potential threats to public safety?” Mr Geddis said.

“The point is to have protections so that everyone can be free and able to make submission to parliament without fear of consequence – that’s a good thing for society as a whole.”

The Sturmabteilung (SA; German pronunciation: [ˈʃtʊɐ̯mʔapˌtaɪlʊŋ], literally Storm Detachment, was the Nazi Party’s original paramilitary wing. It played a significant role in Adolf Hitler’s rise to power in the 1920s and 1930s. Its primary purposes were providing protection for Nazi rallies and assemblies, disrupting the meetings of opposing parties, fighting against the paramilitary units of the opposing parties, especially the Red Front Fighters League (Rotfrontkämpferbund) of the Communist Party of Germany (KPD), and intimidating Romani, trade unionists, and, especially, Jews – for instance, during the 1933 Nazi boycott of Jewish businesses.

Do you see a parallel here?
      Substitute
      >was the LABOUR Party’s original paramilitary wing
      > Its primary purposes were providing protection for LABOUR/GREEN rallies and assemblies, disrupting the meetings of opposing parties, fighting against the paramilitary units of the opposing parties, especially the Red Front Fighters League (Rotfrontkämpferbund) of the NEW CONSERVATIVES Party of NZ /ACT etc

A bit of finesses and Communist(Ardern as leader) Party of NZ demonises middle class conservatives and gets their Propaganda wing (Herald, Stuffed, TVNZ, RNZ) to label them right wing so they are valid targets.(like Romani, Jews etc)
then send in the armed clowns and get the MSM arm of the Axis of Evil to mis-report and slander the targets

Think of Dumbass Paddy Gower’s attempts at labelling people ‘right wing’ as Germany circa 1932

Gee, first they came for the xxx

To be fair, in among this Axis of Evil you can see why Mao took the University twats out the back and shot them.

    https://www.tvnz.co.nz/one-news/new-zealand/petition-jacinda-ardern-calls-koalas-introduced-nz-australias-bushfires-rage

“New Zealand has 28,575 hectares planted in eucalypts, most is located in the Central North Island, and are similar to much older forests from Australia, as they grow fast here,” the petition read.
A petition to Jacinda Ardern calling for koala bears to be introduced to New Zealand eucalyptus plantations has gathered nearly 4000 signatures.

“However, don’t get too excited – New Zealand’s Prime Minister isn’t quite ready to join the cause.
A spokesperson for Jacinda Ardern says the focus right now is “providing firefighters and defence logistics to assist getting the fires under control”.

It doesn’t say who is responsible for the petition. Did they think this idea through? Other Aussie imports like the possum have been more than a nuisance in NZ bush.

You know Dig, that is the problem with a lot of us. Not the fact that you don’t listen to them, the fact that you’re complaining about how the Left is infiltrating all aspects of our lives and our media, but your first response here is to say: “I don’t listen to them”

I am guilty of the same. Talk on blogs, send the odd email. But none of that has any impact. We will never convince Ardern and her ilk to stop their authoritarian march on our society by talking to them.

    Never.

You make a very good point there, Pascal.
As you say we will never change Labour or the Greens mind.
But luckily, we still live in a democracy and there is an election before the end of the year.

          • Having this anti National stance due to some catholic members is not going to help us.
Do you think that the 1,152,000 people that voted for them are all Catholics, or even all Christian.

What about the 13,000 people that voted for ACT?

  27. Prince William livid Harry, Meghan’s news came on eve of Kate Middleton’s birthday
    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/entertainment/2020/01/prince-william-livid-harry-meghan-s-news-came-on-eve-of-kate-middleton-s-birthday.html

Commenting on that picture, Prince Harry and Meghan’s account, Sussex Royal, said: “Wishing a very happy birthday to The Duchess of Cambridge today!”

That wasn’t warmly received by the public.

“Meghan…. give up ur title and disappear!” said one person.

    “Leave her alone” said another.

“Really?????? We’ve ruined your birthday but happy birthday anyway. Fecken clueless [sic],” added a user.

“You could learn some class and integrity from the Duchess of Cambridge.”

  28. Funny article from the Daily Mail.

To read it you might need a browser other than Google Chrome if you are using an ad blocker

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7875739/New-Zealand-PM-Jacinda-Ardern-continues-Australian-holiday-amid-Scott-Morrison-replacement-calls.html

“New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern continues her Australian holiday by drinking local beers and wines – amid calls for her to replace embattled Australian leader Scott Morrison”

Anyhoo, the journos get slaughtered in the comments section

Unlike Stuffed they leave the comments in there when the tide is against. .
    Fair enough.

Im calling BS to this article!! No way in hell would Australians be thinking that, except perhaps the leftist lunatics who got beaten by badly during the last elections

    No3
She not popular in NZ. She has ruined their economy and taxes the population without notice. She has a great PR team. But she would ruin Australia worse than the labor party did in 2012

    And No 4th popular I like :-
More lefty BS headlines from DM … Horse head wouldn’t have a snowflakes chance in hell of being elected as PM in Australia … she’s not popular in her own country … she sure as hell isn’t popular here …

    All from Australian addresses
A good chuckle to see Australians look through the bullshit -which will be in part why Morrison is PM and Bill Shorten is a feather duster

  29. New Zealand’s purpose is to “punch above its weight”, “show the way to the rest of the world”, and “claims to be just and virtuous”
So how will all of that work out in the immigration part? as many immigrants will also know how to be “just and virtuous”.
Something to ponder over, the wondrous mutual benefits, and what risks there are and what possibly it may lead to.
    An interesting article/interview, August 2016

Mutual benefits: Islamic moral economy and Neo-Liberalism . ……
…… an informal and parallel economy expressed, practiced and expanded through everyday religious, cultural and social acts.
In turn, the material gains justify the viability of the ethics of Islam.
It is an Islamically and socially embedded economy based on a simple circular argument: whatever is framed by sharia should be good and whatever works should be framed by sharia.
Islamic moral economy leads to collapsed societies and stateless territories, although it often claims to be just and virtuous.

    https://www.migraciokutato.hu/en/2016/08/02/mutual-benefits-islamic-moral-economy-and-neo-liberalism/

Showing the partnership with the western world and market economy, and then believing mostly good can come out of this with little collateral damage.

I think it brings forth a straight understanding of the economics of islam, and how many of the West, like our banking system, want to have a play in this market.
But just what is the price?

The point is, will Western Philosophy stand firm!
Will you believe your leaders on the march to wondrous mutual benefits?

  30. We all know that it will not take much
If National declare they will not go with NZF at a good time.
And if the NZ Foundation donations sink them.
Then some of their voters will vote for National or Act or NC

  31. I’m **certain** that it is possible to tip Cindy out this election.

I think Labour are on 40 percent at the moment. There is definitely enough “softness” in their vote to get it down to about 37 percent. Assume Winston gets the arse card and the Greens get 7 percent and that’s 44 percent. That’s not enough and she’d be out. Woohoo!

I reckon **women** are the key to things so over on TradeMe I’ll be pushing the damage that Labour has done to children –

1 – Axed charter schools that were giving great gains to Maori and Pasifika students.
2 – Allowed a big measles epidemic to take hold.
3 – Allowed the dole figures to rise by **22,000** since Sep 2017 – *that* won’t be good for those families.

4 – Cindy’s failure on child poverty so far –
    https://www.kiwiblog.co.nz/2019/04/child_poverty_measures_released.html

What other failures have the CoL done that affect children?

    • Changed the school cirrulicim to include climate change and NZ (maori) history.
Allowed their staff to assault women with no punishment.

      • Labour’s Achilles heel is not what they’ve done to anyone, including children. It’s the fact that they haven’t done a fraction of what they set out to do…….it’s all yap floating around in the ether!

Re Dignap’s defence of the Godaddled Nats. They have been hi-jacked pure & simple by religious conservatives. Religious conservatives are control freaks who want to dictate all aspects of my life & the lives of my family. Religious control freaks don’t know how to mind their own fucking businesses & want me to live according to the noises their imaginary God makes in their heads.

Hell, should it by any faint chance exist, will be knee deep in snow before I vote for the arrogant cunts!

        ACT 2020!

        • Trouble with too many trying to control others and run our lives for us. What is it with control freaks, the totalitarian power nutters. Less government. Clean out the swamp. A bloody great earthquake hitting Wellington would be a good start.

    • Not expecting mothers to name the fathers of their children. How is that good fpr children generally but Maori children more so as knowing their identity seems so important, or at least lack of it causes problems.

  32. Hi all –

Here’s a copy of the post that I’ve just put up at the TradeMe forum –
    “Climate scientists rewriting the past”

Excellent proof of the FRAUD being carried out in so-called “climate science”.

So-called “climate science” does NOT follow the “scientific method” –
