Yesterday I read an article somewhere on our absence of representation at the recent Holocaust remembrance in Israel. It mentioned that the GG Reddy had wanted to attend on our behalf, but this was stopped by foreign minister Peters. I had intended to do a post today on this exposure of his bullshit.

Do you think I can find it now? Nowhere can it be found on the www.

Can anyone point me to the story please

  1. Brilliant OP pic
And Ed, don’t forget to add her Newshub graph to your list of lies.
She is starting to be a liabilidy for Labour.
But then again Grant Robertson probably gave her that chart so he is just as bad.

    • Grant Robertson’s father got 3 years jail-time for stealing from his employer as the accountant to a law firm.
He then gambled away the money.

Obviously chubby wee Grant decided to follow in the family business but became a politician in order to avoid jail time.

See, families can improve in the next generation//
      🙂

Family criminal convictions must be a requirement to be a member of the Labour cabinet.

      • So Dame Patsy, our governor general who represents Queen Elizabeth as NZ’s head of state was invited to represent NZ at the holocaust commemorations as is her position: “to carry out her constitutional and ceremonial duties within the Realm of New Zealand” and Peters said she couldn’t go? So is Peters getting his panties in a bunch because he doesn’t like sharing the world stage with our governor general? I imagine Queen Elizabeth would not be impressed with the disrespect shown by the jumped up little deputy PM of NZ?!

“The invitation to the forum was for heads of state, which Peters said was a “mistaken impression” of New Zealand’s constitution, so the Governor-General Dame Patsy Reddy was never an option.
“I don’t think they quite understand our constitutional position. Our head of state is the Queen, but if somebody makes – internationally – a mistake as to the constitutional position of this country it is no reason for us to go along with it,” he said.”

        • Peters also single handedly ruled out the changes to the zero carbon bill that Nats wanted to put up , Greens , Labour and Act were all for it , NZF thanks to an obstinate Peters opposed , its time this mongrels games was put into the public domain

    • Not the article Ed is looking for,
Perhaps a silver lining in not attending, as the Auschwitz tour circuit to “sites of injustice” is much about revision.

“memorandum of understanding” with the AJC [American Jewish Committee] unveiling the planned visit to Auschwitz, al-Issa denounced the “heinous attacks in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in Christchurch, New Zealand, and most recently in Sri Lanka.”
      https://www.actforcanada.ca/l/a-muslim-holocaust-remembrance-travesty-andrew-bostom/

A sellout revision, like a few years ago, when a speaker at an ANZAC service went into the bravery of those who protested and opposed “apartheid”.
I almost puked, and near walked out. So far not been asked to speak again. 🙂

Too many of these events, are being subverted, and revised, as below where Capricorn One mentions, Ardern’s concept of removal & changng “shafts of war”.
All part of the “molley coddled mind” and needing safety from “trigger” issues, and “safe places”.

  2. Impeachment.
One of those 4 possible Replublicans to vote for witnesses has said that he wil not.
He said what the President did is not an impeachable crime!
So that’s then end of things!

But the dems are now going apeshit.
But they had enough evidence before!

  3. So Jacinda Ardern is sneering that the National Anthem lyric “Shafts of War” is irrelevant and wants to change it.
I strongly suggest this revolting woman get out of bed on Anzac Day and see how strongly Kiwis feel about commemorating their War Dead.

    • Over on the Herald they have poll 73% of the voters say thare are happy with the anthem as it is!
      (that seems quite high)
But it shows that Ardern is trying to make things up

        She might prefer:-

Through tempests the sun of freedom shone to us,
And the great Lenin illuminated our path,
We were raised by Stalin to be true to the people,
To labour and heroic deeds he inspired us!

  4. I was having a conversation with a friend yesterday and he mentioned the charges laid over the JLR on Simon Bridges Donation scandle is not about how the Donations were were dealt with it is all about false information given to the Serious Fraud investigators when seeking evidence on the situation. Can anyone else confirm whether the have heard the same.

    10

    • Hope that is true as if it involved allegations of dodgy donations I can see JLR dragging it out to the election just to damage National.

    • A reasonable contention.

However J L Ross has laid out his insanity defense in great detail.
He was so far off the reservation (may still be) he went flying past Auckland Island to the wastelands of Antarctica.

Sarah Dowie should have had better judgement than shag that nutbar but her text to him makes up for that.
      Brill…..
“Before you interpret this as your usual narc self – don’t. Interpret it as me – you are a fu*king ugly MF pig. Shave that fu*king tuft of hair off your fu*king front of skull head and own your baldness – you sweaty, fat, toe inturned mutant. ”

Sounds like a 17 year old not a 40+ lawyer and MP but at a level Ross might understand.

    • Then why are there 3 others ? I still think its about what these 4 scum that tried to over throw the Nats , and we all know who they are , Peters was telling Bridges in the house , they will shortly coming for you in the middle of the night , often when sneering and lying across the house he yelled ask JLR , I just wonder if these others are Slater , Lusk and Peters , Peters has sounded extremely flat when talking of the last few days , Plunket added the other day , he has been leaked something big is coming about Peters in the very near future , and that all times in with Bridges is holding off dumping Peters

    • Any kind of bike is good for cops on the beat because a bike gives them speed for getting to situations as well as searching for and catching offenders who are on foot or trying to reach a getaway vehicle etc.

Years ago I lived in Argentina and there it was common to see cops on (ordinary) bikes weaving through traffic jams etc. Their bikes are painted in striking police colours so they are never stolen either.

Ebikes would be fantastic and much faster than ordinary bikes. I just bought an Ebike and typically I cruise at 35-40kph on the flat so this would be a really good way to get around in a city.

The problem with the idea in NZ however is that there are virtually no cops on the beat. When did you last see a cop waking along the street or in a shopping mall?

Knowing our government’s policy of virtue signalling over substance, it wouldn’t surprise me if they bought hundreds of Ebikes and never put any of them to use.

      11

      0

      • The cops trialed patrolling on bikes last summer. Apparently they found it very hot under the summer sunshine. I guess not having to peddle the E.Bikes as much would be appreciated by the bobbies. ☀️😎🥤

        5

        0

        • You still have to pedal an Ebike. The battery wouldn’t last long if you just sat there and didn’t do any work. I pedal mine almost as hard as with my ordinary MTB… the only difference being that the Ebike goes about 3-4 times as fast for the same effort.

If cycling is too hard for the cops it is because they are too soft and bloody unfit! Poor little petals….. Geez, 100 years ago the local bobbies all rode bikes!

    • The GG often represents our queen as our head of state at international events. The invitation for the holocaust commemoration was to “the head of state” our GG. Peters has got his nose out of joint so tried to send the disgraced speaker instead. The invitation was not meant for Trev so the organisers declined his offer to attend.
In effect NZ has snubbed the queen and her representative and instead offered to send the office boy.

      • I think ol’ Queenie has bigger fish to fry with Randy Andy’s flailing member and the Ginger grandie fluffing about with the C grade american actress.
Oh, then there is Brexit and some ‘reconstituting’ to do.

Plus the fear that her daft son in his 70s wants her job and with his talking to trees and wanting to be a tampon I suspect she will let this one slide.

We don’t need to to rush off and commemorate every goddamn thing that happened on the far side of the world. Start of the war, some battle, the end, the signing of tready etc.
Maybe send a local Ambassador or skype into the event!

  5. Cindy sits next to a little girl on a flight to Wellington. Se turns to her and says, ‘Let’s talk- I’ve heard that flights go quicker if you strike up a conversation with your fellow passenger’.

The little girl, who had just opened her book, closes it slowly and asks Cindy, ‘What would you like to talk about?’.

‘Oh, I don’t know,’ says Cindy, ‘How about what changes I should make to “Make New Zealand Great ”?’ and smiles.

‘OK’, she says, ‘That could be an interesting topic. But let me ask you a question first’.
‘A horse, a cow, and a deer all eat the same stuff – grass. Yet a deer excretes little pellets, while a cow turns out a flat patty, and a horse produces clumps of dried grass. Why do you suppose that is?’.
Cindy, visibly surprised by the little girl’s intelligence, thinks about it and says, ‘Hmmm, I have no idea’.

To which the little girl replies, ‘Do you really feel qualified to change New Zealand when you don’t know shit?’

  6. Not OK to change the flag, but Cindy thinks it would be good to change the National Anthem to make it more inclusive.

    13

    • No, no Saggy – you have that wrong.
Changing the flag was perfectly fine.
Opposition leader Angry (at the time) said he’d change it too.
He also said he’d change our anthem.

The bitch-fest about changing the flag was always about the cost of the referendum.
Changing these important symbols of our identity is perfectly fine – but consultation with the unwashed Is completely unnecessary.

After all, did H.Clark consult when she abolished our right to appeal to the Privy Council?
Did H.Clark consult when our honours system was changed from recognition by Head of State to a badge from Head Prefect?

Now: to find a plan to do away with those other pesky consultations.
      Who needs elections.

  7. The book that Trudeau and his police investigators are trying to suppress/burn,

The book “The Libranos: What the media won’t tell you about Justin Trudeau’s corruption”
“the few remaining independent newspapers in Canada signed up for Trudeau’s $600 million media bail-out. You just can’t trust the media anymore, and Canadians know it.Trudeau wasn’t properly vetted by the media in 2015.”
One can also quickly check the reviews and there is one good explanatory one here too.
    By Mr. E
Essentially, this book challenges Canadians to use their heads, not their hearts, and carefully consider whether such an apparently corrupt, incompetent politician should be entrusted with another term as Prime Minister.

    https://www.amazon.com/Libranos-media-Justin-Trudeaus-corruption-ebook/dp/B07XDCX1RG

This state media almagation was started but failed under Minister Curran.
Bad enough that NZ media is, the state still wants to own and control all media.
Now parts of it is being resurrected again.

Reviewer Jim Dowdell brings up some interesting points.
properly judged as corrupt and unfit for the honour of ruling the country. But in Canada we have seen this power effectively removed because of the sycophant media machine.

So lessons to be learnt, and how Ezra Levant battles to keep free speech in the most oppressive Canada.
Some interesting rhyming parallels to New Zealand, and so we can see and learn from Canadian Ezra Levant’s experience, and better to recognize the machinations of our politicians and the best way to counter them.

    • Follow up by the Royal Mounted Police Investigators to the book “Libranos” just a few days ago.

Ezra certainly puts those police investigators, on notice. 🙂
The tricks of the interrogators, the misdirection, and the errors, but the real aim was that the book should have been registered with the government, in that the author should have registered as a 3rd party.
Then bust him with his non state paid so uncontrolled independent media,

How far off are the complainants being like:- New Zealand Electoral Commissioners, Race Relation Conciliators, Human Rights Commissioners, Broadcasting Standard commissions, Chief Censors, etc., that can trigger the police to do the physical side, and the Judiciary to sentence relentlessly with fines, penalties, compensation, and pressure of gaol.
Let alone the media, to follow up doxxing, affecting jobs, house rental, bank mortgages, credit, etc…

Have to admire the guy, as he has fought the Canadian deep state Commissioners, and star chambers for over a decade now.
He sure has a good turn of phrase, and knows a spade from a shovel and can sure take it to those bureaucrats.
Not always a win, but does a great push back against their relentless grind.

    • Good on you Simpleton1 for flagging this.

It’s fucking disgraceful and terribly relevant for NZ. Cindy is close to Trudeau (Trump nastily commented that he thought she was the Blackface PM’s wife). Global socialism is being carefully stage-managed by Soros’s minions and there is massive cross-fertilisation of the socialist tools to undermine democracy. Cindy’s support for the traditional Labour party’s propaganda arm of the MSM is not that far removed from Trudeau’s pre-election bribe for state broadcasters who provided “UNBIASED” ie pro-Trudeau coverage.

You can bet your bottom dollar that organs of state will be turned against Labour’s opponents. The National funding scandal currently bubbling away “feels” like Obama’s assault on conservative organisations by the US IRS. What Ezra Levant is experiencing is a foretelling of how the Electoral Office will be behaving here later this year.

Fascism is already here and it’s been brought to us by Labour (with help from a complicit National swamp).

      • A lot of countries politics and news fly under the radar here in NZ because of censorship .
I was recently alerted to the next level plan to control the people in Cambodia.
        Background:
The Cambodian People’s Party has dominated the political landscape since the 1997 armed clashes in Phnom Penh. Other prominent political parties include the royalist FUNCINPEC and the erstwhile Cambodia National Rescue Party that was dissolved by the Supreme Court in 2017. Comparative political scientists Steven Levitsky and Lucan Way have described Cambodia as a “competitive authoritarian regime”, a hybrid regime type with important characteristics of both democracy and authoritarianism.
        Currently:
The current Prime Minister is Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) member Hun Sen. He has held this position since the criticized 1998 election, one year after the CPP staged a bloody coup in Phnom Penh to overthrow elected Prime Minister Prince Norodom Ranariddh, president of the FUNCINPEC party.

This, I believe is how you gain control of anyone and everyone.
The potential for cancelling anyone from society who doesn’t tow the line, is scary.

National Bank of Cambodia is all set to launch its centralized digital currency.

    • The Supreme Court of Canada is out of control.
They will not rise to defend freedom of speech or any freedom.
First video explains that right off the bat, the SC set itself up as THE authority on the Constitution, surpassing any gov’t power: /1

Two videos here of though may have to scroll the dud ones, just a little down to get the right ones with sound.
      https://twitter.com/i/status/1223247608631775232

To think that the laws that Andrew Little Justice Minister will be similiar to the Canadian Supreme Court. and the Justice Rosalie Abella.
A know it all, that will just do the rebalancing of laws, a reweighing, of the benefit of the right, to versus the harm of the “infringement”.

This is where we must learn, so that we can be more effective in stopping these changes.

      5

    • A 2nd video, this time talking to a lawyer.
Just a quick few notes of my interpretation,
The first 2 minutes 30 seconds mark compares the costs to the Canadian government in October of a case, which Ezra won, .

Deep state Election Commissioner, police investigators, saying he should have registered to the government about his book.
To have laws on the books to stifle freedom of speech & freedom of the press, to talk about the issues is crazy.
So is it interfering in an election or participating in an election?
So who? and how? decides what are the issues? during an election.
Only 1 book author out of 25 seems to be questioned.
Seems to be total silence on this book issue from the mainstream media, and from all the NGO’s supposedly on guard about “free speech”.
So what happens to others behind “closed doors” when other “selective complaints” are being investigated.
Looking into a battle plan as implied by Commissioners they may look into subpoenaing documents, charging Ezra.
So Ezra looks at fighting every inch of the way. Advised to co operate, but I am sure, double checking with his solicitor so they can prevail on what is really an undemocratic law.

            • Pragmatism.

ACT recognizes that reducing pollution and similar is a good thing for us and our planet as a whole, but will not do anything that harms us disproportionately to what we do. E.g. no kneecapping our economy for a 0.001% contribution. So no to the Thunbergs of the world.

In terms of migration; ACT follows a similar concept to the US path to citizenship with agreements (US does it through exams on US history, values and civics) on a person’s ability and desire to integrate into New Zealand society. Unlike what I suspect you’re hinting at, ACT does not discriminate based on religion or country of origin, but has policies designed to pick people who want to be Kiwis and who are capable of coming here and contributing without discrimination.

I note that even Winston Peters proposed something like that in 2018, I am rather surprised to see an alignment between ACT and NZF!

              • Difference is Peters just tells people what they want to hear. He has no intention of fulfilling those promises. Remember he scuttled off to New York to sign up to the UN Migration Pact (for borderless countries) without consulting the public of NZ. Peters is underhand, self-serving and without integrity. Peters cannot be compared to David Seymour.

    • It’s a magnificent day for the UK today, and I’m certain Farage is right that the EU will have ceased to exist within 10 years. Socialists always run out of other people’s money. For decades the “other people’s money” has come from the UK and Germany – bankrolling the ever-lengthening list of dependent basket-case EU parasite countries. Thanks to Merkel’s migrant insanity, Germany is sputtering and about to go into recession – when that happens they won’t be able to afford to carry the EU anymore.

The dominoes are lined up, the UK leaving is that little push that was required to knock them all down. The globalist, entitled legions of bureaucrats are about to lose their gold-plated existence – they got so corrupt and so greedy that they literally killed the golden goose.

And just to show how fucked up the BBC is – try turning to the BBC World News. There is a miserable pair of whiny BBC hacks who look like they’ve just been told they got lung cancer and have one week left to live, and they’re running through and endless list of things that are wrong with Brexit.

Honestly, if the BBC is trying to do an EU and end their taxpayer-funded existence – they couldn’t be doing a better job than they are right now. Fucking Remainers – they hate democracy, they hate the UK, they hate everything that is outside their champagne socialist bubble. Just like the fucktards in TVNZ and RNZ.

Rule Britannia. Once again it will have saved Europe from a German Reich.

Thank God Almighty, we are free at last!”
      MLK

      Midday Saturday our time.

That was a hell of a journey and like all divorces this is simply the beginning of recriminations.
Think of what the French did when we actually caught their state sponsored criminals involved in blowing up a ship in our harbour (when Gween pieces was an environmental group, not just a mental group)
This is a snub and ‘get the F off my property’ many times the scale.
      The French will be nasty.
      And their peasants are revolting…again!

The Sauerkrauts do a slow burn trying to be cool and controlled….then….it is all on
The smaller states will be getting restless.
It was a damn good thing that Britain never entered the Euro currency.
I suspect if Greece had not been throttled by that control currency they could have left.
They should never have been in the Euro and it was Goldman Sachs crooks who manipulated the figures to put the shackles on.
But let us go with the media filth run myth that Greece were the bad ones.
      It suits the narrative.
A takeover by electrons not hot lead.

There is little online media coverage right now and the Ginger and the american C grade actress did a lot to keep it off the front pages. Then false flag ‘impeachment’ and people with a head cold in China!

The NWO controlled media filth will be told to be subdued in their repeating.
There was way more coverage on the pretend exit on 31 October last year.
This is a step backwards for global control.

One can but hope that Treason May has a glass of vinegar to celebrate.

Free at last Free at last..
It is the end of the beginning…..

  8. I put the following on KB this morning.

“I heard Sean Plunket on Radio Magic [Deleted – Mod]. Simon Bridges was being interviewed at the time. If there was a suppression order in place or there were concerns over defamation this would not have been said on air.

What concerns me is that this has not been repeated on TV or on Stuff or the Herald as it put Bridges and National in a good light.

[Mod – there are now court-ordered suppression orders in place until 25 February. Anyone who attempts to breach or circumvent them and expose DPF to risk can expect a holiday]”

Now I do not want to get DPF or the Editor on this blog in trouble. However, I fail to understand how both Sean and Peter Williams would say what they did on air. Neither of them are silly.

    • When Shaun said it on Magic he also said he had checked with a lawyer and there was no suppression order. Maybe it came later or maybe it is just a convenient excuse being bandied about. I am on YSB for a reason.
All power to the the Holy Sheet

What is your point of this post?

Either post it as you want to and are allowed but we don’t need commentary on a place many of us left for good reason.
From tomorrow Britain does not have to care if Brussels passes a law prescribing the legal curvature of bananas.
I don’t care what happens at that run down joint.

I don’t care for Soimon Bridges either.
For that I would get at least 15 downticks at that joint.
It is a place of Notional party acolytes and their tormentors.
There is no real opportunidy to educate them and their closed minds which is why the trolls prevalent there have so much fun tormenting.

Surely Notional can come up with someone who does not act, sound, and dress like a 12 year old boy.
      It is embarrassing.
Farrar and Bridges are responsible -among others – for dancing the Notional Cossacks into very left leaning territory!

      • I posted it to try and get to the truth of the matter. I seem to have got some useful information from WG. I missed part of the interview. It was worth hearing what I had missed. That is Shaun said it on Magic he also said he had checked with a lawyer and there was no suppression order.

You can say what you like about Bridges. On the last two polls National would be in government. This is excellent less than a year out from an election that could mean a one term government.

This could mean Doug Graham’s son as the 4th person.
      They roamed together.

One also has to wonder – It is a guess but a fair guess that Slater owed lawyer Brian He nry hundreds of thousands of dollars for all the defamation defense and was in no position to pay.
Not wise to piss off the lawyer and personal friend of the Deputy PM and the most litigious MP in the NZ Parliament.

If Matthew Blom field caught wind of any of it he would strike revenge on Slater
You can hear Sam Jackson right now:-
‘And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers.’

By being an arsehole for years Slater created a large and powerful enemy list.
      Payback is a bitch.

      Can we discuss it?

  10. Replacing an unlikeable socialist with an insane even more unlikeable socialit

No – I’m not talking about when Jacinda was parachuted in over the union henchman Angry Andy at the last election.

I’m talking about the rumour that Nicki Kaye is working the numbers to see if she can topple the infinitely unlikeable Mr 7% Bridges and “Do a Jacinda”. Which is kind of bizarre really, it’s like National watched how UK Labour have been destroying the party over the past 18 months and they’ve thought to themselves “UK Labour – that’s the way to go”.

When she was in government, it was rumoured that her office was called “The House of Pain” and not because Ms Kaye had any predilection for stilleto heels and whips. She’s bonkers. Sure she beat Jacinda twice in Auckland – but that was only because she knew she couldn’t out “bobble-head” Jacinda in a debate and so never shared a stage with her.

I mean sure, she has a vagina and Soimon doesn’t (I think). And she can do the “I had cancer” empathy face when the Health service is discussed. But she’s been a devastatingly ineffective debater in the house. Whenever she’s been a Minister, she’s unable to get her Cabinet colleagues to support her far-left ideas.

And worst of all, DPF absolutely adores her – is there anything that would convince a sane centre right voter that she’s the wrong person for the job. National are so fucked, they took a stupid turn to the left with Bridges and they are utterly lost in the wilderness.

I mean even the worst PM in human history understands that election year started at 1 second past midnight on 1 January. Labour are already in full election mode.

Anyone know if Soimon Bridges is still around – where the fuck is he? Jacinda just re-announced his roading program and he isn’t calling her on it.

    11

    5

    • That would be a massive lurch left from National but I’m guessing it might pick up the ‘Woman’s Day’ voters…
(Like my Mother in Law for example- Voted National her whole life until Jacinda came along..”Ooh I think she has a lovely smile and isn’t it gorgeous she has a little wee baby?”..)

      9

      0

    • The easiest way to predict what National is going to do is work out what would be the worst outcome for a non-left government, what will do the most harm to their brand and what will give the media the biggest stick to beat them with. Then add bells, peanut butter and a bit of whipped cream and go for that option. Preferably with a midget and a bearded lady for extra giggles.

      6

      0

    • I have to disagree on some points. I have met Nikki Kaye. She is no airhead. Yes, she may seem a bit left, but having someone right of Attila is not going to win central New Zealand. She has beaten Jacinda twice in a very left electorate, mostly through hard work and walking from house to house. I have nothing against Simon, but if Nikki did take over, there would be none of the “man bullies woman” crap that will be part of Labour’s strategy. A lot of woman will vote for her simply because she is a woman, as happened in the last election. “A breath of fresh air” and all that other sentimental crap. Nikki vs Jacinda, the battle of the “Babes” as once headlined…. It could work. (Judith has too much baggage). But this is just my opinion, and I am probably still voting Act at this stage.

      2

      0

      • RoL – I never said she’s an airhead. I said she’s bonkers – the House of Pain reference was because she runs her office like a Margaret Wilson or a Meka Whaiteri. Plus she was isolated in Cabinet – couldn’t get any of her crazy ideas supported.

But you could be right on all those other things – the infantalisation of society is in full swing as demonstrated by us having the laziest and worst performing PM outside of an African banana republic. I think we need to start emulating those small US towns that consistently vote for a dog to be mayor – and treat the politicians who abuse the democratic process with the contempt their office deserves.

Seriously, I’m having a good hard look at the options as to whether it’s worth staying here if we return a low calibre diversity candidate next time around. We may be Venezualised by the time 2023 comes around.

But more and more RoL – I feel that the only option is do as you say and vote Act.

Making money is just something they do and rather well. We have some Chinese friends who came to NZ many years ago with next to nothing. They worked their asses off, lived in a small room above their shop and would use the showers at the community swimming pool (swim, shower, etc.). Saved, invested and now they have a mansion in Kohimirana, drive nice cars and have a whole chain of shops.

I don’t admire the dishonest approach so many take, but the ones that do it legitimately are a good example to all of our fellow countrymen that sit and whinge about lack of opportunity. They need to spread that mentality that you can do it around.

    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/2020/01/australia-canada-and-uk-exempt-from-new-us-investment-rules-but-not-new-zealand.html

The exceptions for Australia, Canada and the UK derive from formal defence and security alliances that each of those countries has with the US, as well as similarities with the US in their existing investment screening regimes.

New Zealand has not been included in the first iteration of the ‘excepted states’ list – the only member of the Anglophone Five Eyes intelligence network comprising the US, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

It follows recent speculation by a top spy that New Zealand’s Five Eyes membership is “on the edge of viability” because of Chinese influence – an allegation refuted by Andrew Little, the minister responsible for New Zealand’s spy agencies.

      2) Never, in my reasonably long existence on Earth, have the Chinese government given a flying fuck for the well-being of its citizens. They are hostage to the good of the state & long been regarded as expendable. Suddenly the CCP are shitting bricks, quarantining, building isolation units & spinning the death rates……..why if it’s just a version of a common flu?

      • Australia bans foreign arrivals from China amid coronavirus fears

Australia will deny entry to any foreign travellers who have passed through China to try and contain the spread of the deadly coronavirus.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced the new policy on Saturday, saying Australian citizens, permanent residents and their immediate family, legal guardians or spouses will be exceptions to the rule, reports The Guardian.

Australian citizens arriving from China will be quarantined for two weeks.

The decision to ban travellers from entering the country mimics that of the US.

US President Donald Trump announced on Friday any foreign nationals who have visited China in the past fourteen days will be banned from entering the country.

Sounds like, do what it takes. as just how does one evaluate the risk? the cost?

After all it becomes a waste of time once it establishes itself, and then the next stage will may be hospitals overwhelmed, or at least a lot of elective surgery postponed, schools being closed, public events cancelled, public transport, increased costs in sanitation, and on and on.
      Already tourism taking a dive.

How serious is it? common cold, or is just fears of mutation to a worst aspect?

As most farmers and gardeners know, the first weed up and immediately doubt on any doubt, removed, killed, eradicated, so not allowed to seed the area, is the cheapest and least costly way to go.
Timeliness is the essence, though not panic.

Problem is dealing with humans. so quarantine, and making it secure.
In the meantime more research, knowledge and experience to make a better balance in decisions.

  17. Trump expands long-standing immigration ban to include six more countries, most from Africa

As is normal the Dem’s are rolling out their nasty views.
President Donald Trump added six countries to his administration’s travel ban Friday – including Nigeria, Africa’s most populous country – in a widely anticipated expansion that Democrats blasted as “clearly discriminatory” against people from predominantly black and Muslim nations.

Citing national security concerns, officials from the Department of Homeland Security and the State Department said the U.S. Government will bar citizens from the six countries from immigrating to the United States. The expansion applies to four nations in Africa – Nigeria, Eritrea, Tanzania and Sudan – and two in Asia: Kyrgyzstan and Myanmar.

The new ban takes effect on Feb. 22; travelers who have received their visas or are in transit at that time will not be impacted. Travelers who have not received their visas will be subject to the ban but will be automatically considered for waivers.

  19. It has been commented on before but today TVNZ have run a “human interest” piece on the move to allow emergency services (why don’t they just be honest & say the police) to access information giving the location of a person through their cellphone.

Our idiot Privacy Commissioner John Edwards has endorsed the proposal saying “It’s only going to be deployed when necessary to protect someone who could be in significant imminent danger” & if anyone believes that I’ll sell them & Mr Edwards a harbour bridge in working condition.

But the trade off to our right to privacy is being driven by a sub species who are more dangerous than PriNZess or the UN. I refer of course to the mad woman, one Jazz Thornton who opines, “If this process enables people to live, I think that outweighs anything.”

I’ve news for her. Civil liberties for all far outweigh someone who wants to call attention to themselves.

  20. If you are having problems with DuckDuckGo not returning search results, disable the regional filter. Seems it is a problem over the last few days for them.
