    • I commented on this late last night and pointed out she should stop telling so many lies.

If she hasn’t got citizenship then she should be sent packing like all the other immigrants who are sponging off our health system.

    • Bloody hell, she can even lie about her health. And just when she had me feeling bad for disliking her so much.

    • I know I am supposed to feel sympathy for her. She is, on some level, a human being and potentially afflicted by a horrible disease. But I can’t. I really cannot. She is a liar, working to destroy my way of life and looking to ruin this country. How can I feel sympathy for her when she is my enemy – when all her actions are seeking to harm me? I can’t. Kudos to the people that can, but not me.

      • I feel the same Pascal. While obviously sympathetic to anyone who finds themselves with an illness I suspect Golly is using her possible illness to gain a lift in the polls. Politics is a nasty business full of narcissists and opportunists.

    • Mike, the way I read the article is that when she first went to see the doctors she was told she had a 50% chance of having MS. She now has MS. I do not wish MS on anyone.

      • Chuck, I agree with freethinker on this. Karma.
Ghahraman is a revolting individual. One only needs to check out her history and background to confirm.
She gets absolutely no sympathy from me.

Yes, MS is a nasty disease. One of my aunties died from it in the early 70’s.

    • She is unfit to perform her role. She should be removed from office and dragged from parliament grounds by security before being served a trespass notice.

She can then focus on defending treason charges.

  1. Australia does not want to harm the global environment.

Australia’s government will work to set new long-term plans addressing greenhouse gas emissions ahead of yet another global climate summit in Glasgow year, however, it won’t pursue any net-zero emissions policies that hurt workers in key economic areas. …….

“If we make the wrong decisions, not only would we be harming the Australian economy, harming Australian workers, we would also be harming the global environment,” Cormann said in an interview on local outlet Sky News.
    .
…… “Imposing a target in Australia that ultimately just shifts emissions to other parts of the world where emissions will be higher for the same level of economic output doesn’t help solve the problem that we’re wanting to solve, and just imposes a sacrifice on people here in Australia for no environmental benefit whatsoever.”

    https://climatechangedispatch.com/australia-mining-economy-un-climate/

So the junket in Glasgow this coming November will be interesting, as the Covid-19 should curtail a lot of emissions. 🙂

  2. The full on charge by globalists to increase migration.

~ The project of multiculturalism in Europe, including the integration of people from the Middle East and Africa, has fared extremely poorly until now and no amount of denial from the UN or the World Economic Forum, including leveling accusations of “hate speech” and “fake news” at its critics can alter that fact.

~ Many migrants have made it clear that they have no wish either to contribute to, or become part of, the European societies into which they have migrated. Parallel societies… have sprung up all over Western Europe.
    .
~ In Germany, authorities believe that it will take decades to get rid of the Middle Eastern family crime clans that have spread their criminal activities throughout the country. Sweden also is reeling from the many shootings and explosions that migrant crime gangs are responsible for throughout the country.
    .
~ None of these grave issues was even hinted at by the UN’s and the World Economic Forum’s “experts” on migration in their statements on International Migrants Day. Instead, they encouraged states to clamp down on critics in the name of “hate speech”.
    What are they afraid of?

    https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/15514/international-migrants-day

And the UN Global Migration Pact signs it members up to media control to only talk positive about immigration, and how governments are to stop any questioning about it.

    • Germany has a history of dealing with people they dislike I feel sure they will find a solution again. I noticed that AfD had a major political success in Thuringa the same province that uncle Adolf had his first success in – is there a clue in that somehow? On the other hand Covid 19 is now in the middle east.

  3. Tauranga City Council is remaking the sign for Mount Maunganui urban park Te Papa O Ngā Manu Porotakataka after a “minor error” where a space was incorrectly added to the word “whakaingoatia”. Hey, it’s ok – only $7000.
Mount Business Association chairman Grant Aislabie said” there was “no excuse” for things as simple as getting signage right. That should be someone losing their job.” – I love all the old platitudes being brought out – How about this one “He said the council should review what happened, its internal sign-off process and ensure it could not happen again.”
The best thing – concentrate on this and ignore this bit “The signage error was listed at a council meeting yesterday among factors responsible for a new $124,000 overspend on the controversial park project.”

  4. Started this month, the British Free Speech Union after that journalist lost a number of jobs as the “cancel culture” exerted its censuring censorship controls.
    https://reclaimthenet.org/free-speech-union/

    The website,
    https://freespeechunion.org/
A ten minute video, released 9th February 2020.
Giving the purpose, the ways to counter, and his experience of how he was “canceled” and others who were “no platformed” by “thought police” and being “checked for thinking”.
“Free speech being the bulwark against the abuse of power”.
“One can not appease the enemies of free speech”
    Links to other Related Organisations

Individually ones can be picked off by the packs of “cancel culture” but together, with support, can withstand and counter their onslaught.

Whether the “Union” concept works remains to be seen, and + fee, as it maybe like herding cats, with as free speech people are of such disparate causes, but it is easy to hang one, but much more difficult to hang a group of people that support each other.

Even gathering knowledge, data, that can be used by individuals to support themselves is better than nothing.
Knowledge makes power, and can be used more effectively.

    • A good article with many good points about free speech & noting the arrival of the “Free Speech Union”

Just a clip of how blasphemy and heresy is supposedly finished, but in another form in today’s world is being resurrected.
Robert G Ingersoll, the 19th-century American political orator, Civil War veteran and, in his words, ‘American infidel’.
He argued that progress is impossible without heresy, without the freedom to blaspheme against religion and to question political power and moral orthodoxy.
‘Heresy is the eternal dawn, the morning star, the glittering herald of the day.
Heresy is the last and best thought. It is the perpetual New World, the unknown sea, toward which the brave all sail.
It is the eternal horizon of progress.
Heresy extends the hospitalities of the brain to a new thought.
Heresy is a cradle; orthodoxy, a coffin.’

      https://www.spiked-online.com/2020/02/26/why-we-must-win-the-fight-for-free-speech/

Many points how the juxtaposition of the claim that “free speech” is free, whilst at the same time controls are placed on it.

  5. Australia’s top spy reveals spike in right-wing terrorism following March 15 terror attacks

The Government has announced a national memorial service on March 15 to commemorate the mosque shootings, and it comes as Australia’s top spy has revealed a massive spike in right-wing terrorism following the attacks.

Australia has seen a doubling in terrorism investigations since the Christchurch terror attack last year, according to Australian Security Intelligence Organisation (ASIO) Director-General Mike Burgess.

He’s also warning of unprecedented espionage and foreign interference in the region.

    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/world/2020/02/australia-s-top-spy-reveals-spike-in-right-wing-terrorism-following-march-15-terror-attacks.html?fbclid=IwAR1H8_gDv3qEB0qJobAY2mz9SFdw0f7dfnBWOeEpMvpgJRSFdaaIueaUtjI

    Pleased he noticed.

“that will make Jacinda orgasm. Anything to get her excited and allow her to take away more of our freedoms. If she hadn’t changed the law in the first place March 15 would not have been able to go ahead. allowing a dumb Aussie to walk past our previous much better law just to please the cops was akin to treason. Worst PM ever.”

    16

    • And the media emphasis this as always but the No 1 issue is;-
And he [ASIO director[ said “violent Islamic extremism”, embodied by Islamic State and al’Qaida, remained ASIO’s top concern.

Sure the Christchurch shooting has made the intelligence services pay lip service, to right extremists, but that is driven by academia, UN globalist, ‘Migrationists’, multiculture diversity ideologies to have “super diverse” cities and countries, whilst being pushed by media.

These people requires many freedoms to be forfeited, like free speech, as in the UN Global Migration Pact, which Winston Peters and Ardern agreed to to sign up to, so no discussion, or debate about migration is to be allowed.

      12

  8. Massey University did a study a few years back on the political leanings of New Zealand journalists. Yes, it is survey based and self selecting, so pinch of salt and all that. Scroll down to page 188 and look at that graph.

Maybe like me, you look at it and initially think “most journalists are neutral”. Nope, they are “Strongly Left” to “Neutral”. Not a one identified as right wing or even right of center.

THAT is why we get so much anti-right wing rhetoric in New Zealand and why people who hold non-left, non-authoritarian views are increasingly being targeted by the 4th estate.

    This needs to change. Massively.

        5

        0

    • How much tax, that the government demands with menaces, did those 30.000 rich people pay?
Probably a lot more, than what the it claims in total to cost the government

For some the pension would have been totally taxed out.

Others may have used that pension money to pay for health insurance so the government does not have to pay for any health costs for those rich people.

Often a supposed rich superannuate grand parent helps pay for a child to go to a private school, so again the government has reduced costs in the education system.

What will be the unintended consequences of changing this?

      12

      0

      • Administrative costs of means testing all the elderly, lawyers and accountants helping to restructure affairs and subsequent loss of taxable income, not considering the spending from those pensioners. There are many consequences.

Of course, the emotive argument of “rich pricks taking pension from the poor” will win for Ardern and we’ll see some rushed, botched legislation as a result.

        9

      4

      0

    • Doesn’t matter. If you’re still pulling a good income then you’ll be contributing more by way of tax than you’re drawing by way of pension. Also very likely that you will have spent you’re working life contributing. Politics of envy raising its ugly head again.

  9. Shane Jones concerned New Zealand First donors will be put-off in election year
    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/2020/02/shane-jones-concerned-new-zealand-first-donors-will-be-put-off-in-election-year.html

Shane Jones is concerned about donors to New Zealand First being “depicted as some type of leper” as new revelations emerge about donations to the New Zealand First Foundation.

The NZ First MP said he is “genuinely not aware” of the functioning of the NZ First Foundation, which is currently under investigation by the Serious Fraud Office (SFO) over allegations it’s been hiding donations for the party.

Jones said he’s worried about a “clear agenda” designed to “spook and quite frankly stigmatise industries” that New Zealand First relies on for support as a political party.

  11. All these excuses and problems are happening in NZ.

From the last paragraph of a comment Cammo99
Bernie Sanders …., there are 4 justices in his system, ecological, racial, economic and social.
However he never mentioned criminal justice.
The school of socialists psychologists in Europe that posted capitalism causes crime may have had more influence or been a clearer expression we gave its due.
Hence socialism sets as its goal with these poor migrants of Islam the position they are twice victimized by socialism.
Blaming 100 years of European colonialism and the USA for the collapse of Islamic States not on the Ottoman’s centuries of theocratic rule that over hundreds of years lead to an inevitable implosion as they never established anything like separation of Mosque and state.
And socialism has never lived up to its expectations largely a system of pathetic fallacies.
What is a gang? But a rudimentary expression of socialism and Berbie Sanders justice without criminality or morality?

    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/world/2020/02/twenty-dead-in-new-delhi-religious-riots-sparked-by-trump-s-visit.html

Police characterised the situation as tense but under control. Schools remained closed, and a ban on assembly continues.

    • Disgusting that they are trying to pin this on President Trumps visit to India. The Hindus and Moslems have been slaughtering each other for hundreds of years and hardly need the pretext of a visit by the most popular President in history to set them off. It is the contentious new citizenship law that the Moslems don’t like and, as usual, they are determined to play the victims whilst being the instigators of violence, it’s just what they do.

    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/new-zealand/2020/02/wairarapa-fault-line-loaded-with-pressure-and-could-cause-giant-quakes.html

New research has found the Wairarapa fault line was stressed during the 2016 Kaikōura quake, increasing the potential for “giant earthquakes”.

The study, published in Scientific Reports earlier this month, found the fault has “repeatedly produced giant earthquakes and is likely able to produce a similarly strong forthcoming event”.

    • This is what happens when researchers play with computer models. In fact they have no idea. Same with climate.

We simply don’t know enough to build predictive models of these complex systems.

      10

      2

    • Something that always puzzles me.
I cannot see how a fault line causes earthquakes. Surely a fault line is the result of an earthquake ?
To me the cause of earthquakes is the buildup of pressure by factors way beyond our control and eventually something gives.
A fault line is created by this movement of plates against each other .
      May be I am wrong.

      4

      0

      • With the constant movement of the techtonic plates, the pressure builds up. The fault line is where the pressure is released by way of an earthquake.

James Shaw says “We have a donor-driven democracy, and we’ve got to get rid of that.” That’s code for the Greens taking your money.

  26. Fears ‘digital transformation’ of access to public services may leave vulnerable communities behind

The Chief Human Rights Commissioner is warning the Government to not leave vulnerable people behind as it makes tasks like applying for a passport part of its “digital transformation”.
    https://www.tvnz.co.nz/one-news/new-zealand/government-warned-digitalisation-services-may-leave-vulnerable-communities-behind?auto=6136345549001

The Government has a vision for all Kiwis to be “thriving in a digital age” to help people access

More than 4000 inquiries to CAB about people facing barriers due to information and Government services being online were recorded between September and November last year.

The Chief Human Rights Commissioner said he was already aware some people were facing barriers with services like online banking and getting passports, but welcomes CAB’s report as authoritative research on the issue and is now calling for the Government to seriously consider the report’s recommendations.

He said in a statement he’s concerned CAB volunteers are being used as a replacement for the Government providing services which are accessible to everyone.

Thank you for posting this article.

This story is absolutely pulled from someones rear.
      Vulnerable communities is a misnomer.
      They are us.
      Everybody is monitored….through transactions.
      There is nowhere to hide.
Passports are not really needed and the article practically admits it.
Another method to count heads and control.

    • It’s a big deal for a lot of older people. In our own social group, although all of us have been self employed, only two of us males would know how to turn on a computer. The others have got away without embracing IT only because their wives did the books, banking & research.

If their wives predecease them or go gaga they’re toast.

Govt may have power to forcibly quarantine infected should coronavirus outbreak hit NZ

    – Isolating whole islands like the Chathams or Great Barrier to prevent the spread.

You reckon if Coronavirus arrives in NZ Socialist Cindy will bolt to Great Barrier or the Chathams in her government jet?
