  1. Ardern’s power crazed lockdown is rapidly strangling the country to death. Her vile grip tightens as her sheeple grow weaker and more submissive.

It is beyond me how anyone could fear a coronavirus more than this dystopian nightmare.

Economically and socially we are done for. It saddens me that most people can’t see what’s happening in front of them. We have rebuilt after set backs before. This is very different as the global media have politicised and divided people, while assisting in brutal totalitarianism.

Society is not going to break down. It already has. Look outside and see.

    • If society has been broken down, then it can be rebuilt–but as what?
What improvements to NZ society can be made?

      • How do you think a society rebuilt – by the Ardern regime – would look?

Given their entire political philosophy is based on divisive hatred and mistrust of others. Every wrong is attributed to the out group and only good to the in group.

I hope you have the option of returning to Japan brother. It’s going to get bad here.

        • KEA ,Im guessing a lot of those Ar15 owners that dutifully surrendered their hardware to the Commie Ardern are sitting in their lockdown lounges watching Rambo reruns and kicking themselves for being so F——-G naive.
As they say “there’s nothing more comforting than a belt fed weapon “,
lets see how they get on with their single shot 22s when the zombie apocalypse arrives. LOL.

          • Fear not my friend there are many ways of ensuring the NZ nascent Stazi led by Gruppenfuhrer Bush can be contained as they live in the same community as they terrorise and once off duty and alone they are just as vulnerable as our friend who was confronted by their armed unit for making a submission to parliament. The Irish and Mafia have well established methods and I have ideas that would make even a Darth Vader Stazi get hot under the collar, literally.

    • Bridges is part of the problem – in fact his collaboration IS the problem

You are so right Kea. What we’re seeing is how you destroy capitalism in order to bring in totalitarianism. I was going to write to Bridges to plead for him to do his fucking job and Lead the Opposition to the insanity that is being imposed on us.

Then I realised – he’s just like Jacinda – he’s a millenial adjacent know nothing. He is the walking, talking embodiment of the phrase

“Good times make for weak leaders”

How poorly served is the National party when their leader is wetter than DPF? Farrar pops his head up and makes a teeny, tiny criticism of the fascist controls being imposed on the media and Bridges jumps down his throat.

Bridges is so fucking stupid that he doesn’t even see the irony of him shouting down and seeking to censor a blog post about the overly censorious nature of government actions! Rodney Hide is right – the Beehive is full of extremists!

We are officially fucked – it’s terrifying how quickly it’s happened. As I’ve been saying for a while – MMP is the greatest evil ever to come to the shores of NZ.

    • Kea
One of my wife’s colleagues in her former job said exactly the same thing on a social media post yesterday except she was talking from a world wide perspective. She is South African but has a consultancy business in Malaysia. She noted what was happening in South Africa but also elsewhere and came to the same conclusion.

      • Experts! What fucking experts?

So suddenly, miraculously after 2.5 years of glorious, un-interrupted, global scale leadership failures – Jacinda is the bestest ever? All the laziness, the sloppiness, the avoidance, the stupidity, the lying, the cover-ups – they now no longer happened? The vast body of evidence (verifiable, scientifically proven, touchable, observable evidential) FACTS of how overwhelmingly unprepared and clueless Jacinda has been – we now are supposed to believe that never happened and that Jacinda (the all-knowing and all-seeing) beneficient leader is come down from heaven to guide us in this time of strife? She hasn’t been able to manage:
        – youth rape cover-ups
        – lying about the 100,000 houses
        – Clare Curran’s staggering incompetence
        – unilateral, unconsulted-upon, untested at the ballot box oil and gas ban
        – the sexual assaults on her staff by one of her inner circle
        – the secure holding of gun owners private information
        – the inability to exercise any diplomatic finesse when dealing with the US or with our nearest neighbour
        – the inability to discern GDP from Balance of Payments
        – discerning the difference between ‘hacking’ and ‘no Budget secret security at all’ of Budget information
        – etc

And Dr Silly Name – the useless CE from the Ministry of Health is all of a sudden St Peter. Let’s remind ourselves of his “expertness”:
        – failed to recognise the implications of this ‘highly infectious disease’ from China – at all
        – failed to recognise that testing might be something you’d like to be prepared for as a nation with an in place pandemic management plan (where was the advance ordering of test kits, face masks, hand sanitisers)
        – failed to do anything to increase the supply of ventilators ahead of time – why weren’t they ordered in January when we started to see the footage leaking out of China
        – failed to advise that strict quarantine measures were going to be essential to stop the spread of the virus from the Kiwis rescued from the Diamond Princess
        – failed to advise that ‘voluntary self-isolation’ is a nonsense and that it would only guarantee the widespread transmission of the disease
        – failed to recognise the cognitive dissonance in parroting “there is no community infection” when you are not doing any fucking testing at all to ascertain anyone at all is infected
        – failed to advise that we need to test anyone coming in to the country – even with a simple temperature check to minimise the risk
        – failed to advise that people will only comply if they’re monitored – and there is no monitoring at all

If past performance is to used as a measure of expertise – then Dr Silly Name has failed to demonstrate expertise more than anyone in the history of the world has!
If that bloke is an expert at anything at all – it is that he is an expert at being fucking useless at his job.

We all know senior bureaucrats are by and large well-intentioned useless fuck-ups (anyone remember Gabriel Mahklouf? Martin Matthews? Ngatata Love? Hugh Logan? Christine Rankin? Roger Sutton? Iain Rennie?). Dr Silly Name is from the same stable.

As usual – Jacinda is lying when she hides her extremist political agenda behind the phrase “we are getting expert advice”.

        They’re NOT FUCKING EXPERTS!

You take that lie away and it is straight out fascism!

(But remember – don’t be honest, don’t care about the future, don’t think – BE KIND)

        • Feb 6th. In an act of political theatre 193 people are evacuated from Wuhan on a special Air NZ Flight. All passengers and crew subject to extreme infection control measures and all arrivals spend 14 days in quarantine. They cannot say they did not know what they were dealing with.
All flights from other origins then carry on as normal. In the knowledge that thousands of possibly infected people had left Wuhan area for Chinese New Year to all parts of the globe prior to lockdown there.
Feb 23rd. reported outbreaks Italy, Iran, South Korea. It is then obvious that infection will spread rapidly worldwide from there as it had in Wuhan and Mainland China. Same virus same human hosts. Duh.
What we should have done from there was determine the maximum daily tests that could be done for CV19. Turns out for now it is 2500 a day. So, limit arrivals to 2500 per day. Returning New Zealanders only. Until all those who want to return have done so. Everyone is tested on arrival. Quarantined in isolation until test results are final. Requisition all available hotels and motels military facilities etc. Infected cases are moved to separate facilities for observation and then to hospital for treatment if necessary. Others are held a further 3 days after negative test result in case they still develop symptoms. Then allowed to return home. We keep importing testing equipment all the time to ramp up daily testing capability so we can lift the arrival cap and start testing people in the population who match symptom profile to detect cases early on. Tourists and foreign nationals only can leave over this time. In short, we sacrifice tourism to keep the rest of New Zealand economy going. The workforce numbers in New Zealand are rationalised to what we need for the non-tourism economy. We work hard and export our buts off to get product to the rest of the world as their economy’s meltdown. Air NZ is subsidised to carry cargo only on their passenger 777 and 787 once the people travelling to and from NZ have dried up. Then we wait for effective pharmaceutical treatments or vaccine or instant testing on arrival before we reopen tourism.
But we sacrificed our economy for 2 extra weeks of tourism revenue instead. While testing 20 -50 people per day up until last week. We screwed up. We are not exemplars. We are as useless as everyone else.

          • After the cruise ship in Japan was evacuated back to NZ and those passengers were put in quarantine at the army facility, I thought we had it, but no, the COL continued to allow anyone from around the world to land in NZ and wander off into our wilderness. The only protection for NZ’ers was the pamphlet the tourists and returning kiwis were given as they crossed our border. That failed to keep us safe. Another FAIL, so now we are all in lockdown and they are still allowing planeloads to land and cross our border without proper care for the rest of us.

One hell of a price to pay now, and for a long time.
Still have the feeling they have not shut the door.

Toss this government out, as any one else would if they had a dead person in their house. Even the dead will soon be calling out, “get me out” before I contaminate you, but not that CoL crew, as they want to ramp up their gold plated pensions.

Just goes to prove the so called knee jerk experts, with their text tick box education, have no experience.
Educated to feelz that really have no value, or prove to be tragically costly when their feelz of good intentions make a pathway to hell.

  3. posted late last night.
As Minister of Culture and Heritage, the Prime Minister Ardern has raised the red flag!

a ruling from their regulators at the Ministry of Culture and Heritage which has excluded non-daily print media from publishing through the level four lockdown ……
……. most concerning area of publishing to be impacted is community newspapers. ……
……. decision was made without any consultation, …….

Is this another captain’s Ardern hijabi adhan of control?
Can she say she had no part or did not know of this?
    https://thespinoff.co.nz/business/28-03-2020/magazines-and-community-papers-arent-an-essential-service-leaving-some-small-towns-and-elderly-without-news/

Is this a message to the journalists, that the agenda has to be more tightly controlled as the only way out will be some “bail out”, that is some controlling money source from the government to keep the remainder afloat.

So some of the smaller papers have to shut down.
Will they ever be able to recover?

    14

    0

    • Where is the out cry, the questions, from those wonderful impartial journalists?
When will Ardern front publicly, but I guess the interviewer will pull their punches, as more than likely there will be a tub of money for the media coming up soon, like Trudeau is doing with Canadian media, plus bringing in a licencing system for all media.

Also noting it seems the only announcement came through the spinoff and no mention on Saturday from RNZ , Stuff, News Hub , or NZ Herald sites..
So sneaking through on the down low, and trying not to ruffle things, as the rest of those publishers see it benefiting themselves
      ———————-

Taking their time, getting the same story in line for Sunday, well hahaa,

Found sneaky Stuff interviews itself, in this article on how it does the news for this lock down, then it slips in a mention of this shut down.
      https://www.stuff.co.nz/national/health/coronavirus/120623309/stuffs-newspapers–keeping-you-informed-and-entertained-amid-covid19

Then twitter has a mention and some comments
      https://twitter.com/MediawatchNZ/status/1243701041075372032

It is the community paper that many take notice of for the hatches, matches and dispatches.

Then there are the notifications, just for your area, like fire bans being lifted or a change in water restrictions.

If this CCP virus gets into the swing of its kill rate, then many will not be wanting to read through the screes in the big papers, but more easy to see if it is their neighbour, just a few streets away taken by the Chinese Communist Party’s virus.

    • On the “regulators at the Ministry of Culture and Heritage”…… let’s not forget that this is a tiny policy advice Ministry that has overseen quite a string of fuck-ups under their adoring service to St Jacinda. This is the Ministry that is so keen on following regulations that they decided it was OK to flout the Official Information Act – funnily this was the committee that was set-up by Clare Curran to try to find a way to give lots and lots of free money to the lying legacy media.

Its a place full of far left wing activists from the:
      – media luvvies
      – conservation luvvies
      – heritage luvvies
      – arts and music luvvies

And finally the boss is Jim Bolger’s little girl – what would you expect from the progeny of the most destructive left wing PM NZ has ever had (think RMA, brought in MMP, gave Winston prominence and a platform). Incidentally, her previous claim to fame was as the person that ran Helen Clark’s run for the UN SecGen job.

This is the regulator who created the largest privacy breach of the year.

Is that the regulator that came up with this nonsense?

Pointing fingers at Chris Fafoi but it was her Cultural Ministry that seemed to have made the move.

So no inquiring questions about how people who do not subscribe to the daily newspapers, live rurally, and internet can be spotty, if they have that,
The cost of cell phones, then if it has reception
Hearing that there seems to be an increase, of “not recognized” “error 404” and the variants popping that makes one think of the censorship that was put in place and calling the Ardern’s adhan, sorry I mean “Christchurch Call”.

  6. Australian Reporter Rita Panahi Takes the WHO, Chinese Regime to Task Over Coronavirus Lies”….

Because of China’s beef with Taiwan, the WHO has prevented Taiwan from having a seat at the international table since 2016. That is having literal dire consequences.

Taiwanese health officials alerted WHO about the Wuhan coronavirus’ transmission between humans back in December but the organization failed to alert countries around the world.

The WHO dug their public relations crisis even deeper into the ground when Bruce Alyward, the Senior Advisor to Director General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, refused to talk about Taiwan during an interview with RTHK. In fact, Alyward pretended the Skype call froze. Then he said he wanted to move on to a different question since China had already been discussed. When the reporter pressed him about Taiwan again, he hung up the call.

“If we can keep our heads up and perform really well and keep things ticking over as well as well can, but in a different way, then we have the best opportunity to see NZ come out of this with the least economic harm.”

      • That’s why it ends in culture too.
Also why the Socialist mandate is to destroy all culture.
We came fucking close to losing it, of that, I have no doubt.

      • Wisely the farmers are avoiding coming into town and getting on with the job of producing food. Anyone living in the country is well stocked and prepared for only urgent trips to town.

3 cheers to our farming folk and stay safe guys!!! 🍺🍷

    • Yup, they’ve always been our backbone. David Seymour was very clear in expressing his thanks for the hard work farmers are doing. Now that the farmers have more power in their hands. I would actually support them in forcing Labour and the Greens, the parties that hate farmers and have used them as a whipping post for so many years, to roll back some of their more odious, anti-farming legislation.

      • There was talk a few weeks back of Farmers or Rural Party setting up with the aim of winning 5-6 electorate seats but voters still giving their party vote to National. Maybe the month of close is a good time for their team to hit the phones, emails and texts.

        • I don’t know if it’s a good thing, it may split the vote too much.
I think this time you might be better to go for Act or National in a United front to oust the ship of fools!

          7

          0

          • It is not splitting the vote in the normal sense Sooty. If National lose a few electorates but maintain their party vote they should keep the same number of seats in Parliament. It is other parties that will lose Parliamentary seats when they divvy up the seats.
Last time the high party vote for National was effectively wasted because they also got a high electorate win. ( just look at how many list seats Labour has in comparison to National.)

    • Interesting, the gougers are still operating.
The original supplier to New Zealand of the life saving drug is Apotex a Canadian company.

      https://www.apotex.com/nz/en/default.asp
Note: When you click on products to research a drug there is nothing. Odd?

I researched the company and found something extremely worrying.
The original founders, husband and wife, Barry and Honey Sherman were murdered in 2017 in their Toronto home.
Their bodies were found seated with belts around their necks in the basement, the same positioning as the life size sculptures in their lounge
This is a classic hit job.
      The police were complicit.

      https://www.macleans.ca/news/new-twist-in-sherman-murders-family-and-police-join-forces/

Now, with the evidence of foul play and misdeeds revealed, one can only assume the multi billion dollar company was targeted for purchase by some nefarious people.
The Shermans wouldn’t sell and paid the price.

Also remember, why would this company be targeted, unless something really big, in the future, was going to go down.
Whoever carried out these ruthless calculated murders, knew a lot of money could be made from the sale of these drugs and perhaps, just perhaps, tampering with the ingredients to expedite the mass eradication program set out by our masters.

There’s a valid argument for not being on the road; risk mitigation in terms of accidents.
What is not a valid argument? You’ll be impeding the emergency response.

Look outside – there aren’t emergency vehicles standing in queues to attend to 540 non-urgent cases across the entirety of New Zealand. You fucking muppets; stop listening to Jacinda Ardern. Her only goal is to gain more control of you. This mess is her making; because she wanted to show you all how wonderful she was on the 15th of March, so she avoided the border closures and inspections that would have meant we could carry on normally and isolate only the vulnerable.

Look outside and think for yourself.

  20. Long term lurker. Should Have My Say aye!!

Where are we at, and what can we find out that the MSM scum won’t tell us?

Some notable events from 2019 that bear scrutiny:

August 7 2019 – closure of the high-security biological war lab at Fort Detrick, Maryland:

“The lab handles some of the most dangerous pathogens and toxins in the world.
The decision comes after an inspection in June found that the research lab failed to run sufficient systems that should decontaminate wastewater from the facility. The CDC suspended all research, including projects of the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID).
USAMRIID studies deadly diseases, including Ebola, anthrax and the bacteria that causes plague. Fort Detrick previously managed the military’s major biological weapons program.”

Large ILI outbreaks in Virginia and Maryland directly at and after this time, at odds with usual rates. Below video discusses the possibility of the wu hu hu flu originating in the US (it’s just info, not a nutcase!) (18min):

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3J6zm6zgah0&app=desktop

September 2019 – New York, The ID2020 Alliance (the ID2020 alliance includes forced vaccination, population reduction and total digital control of everybody – on the way to One World Order – and global financial hegemony – Full Spectrum Dominance, as the PNAC ((Plan for a New American Century)) likes to call it) at their 2019 summit entitled “rising to the Good ID Challenge” decide to roll out their program in 2020, the decision confirmed by the WEF in Davos, January 2020.

The digital identity program will apparently be tested by the Bangladesh Govt. Here is what Anir Chowdhury has to say:

“We are implementing a forward-looking approach to digital identity that gives individuals control over their own personal information, while still building off existing systems and programs. The government of Bangladesh recognizes that the design of digital identity systems carries far-reaching implications for individuals’ access to services and livelihoods, and we are eager to pioneer this approach.”

Mr. Anir is the Policy Advisor of a2i. As the leader of a2i, he ensures the implementation of the government’s digital Bangladesh agenda.

Individuals’ access to services and livelihoods – read, you will not be able to do anything without getting chipped.

Is the chip to be in the upcoming vaccine?

October 2019 – Wuhan World Military Games. 9308 athletes. Over 200,000 volunteers. Interesting that one……

October 2019 – Coronavirus computer simulation at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, sponsored by the WEF and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

This is the tip of the proverbial. You are being lied to. All the time, every day. This has been happening for years. As the plan is implemented step by step. Slowly the water in the pot warms…….

Event 201, Agenda ID2020, Agenda21. It has to have a catalyst. Is this it, finally?

Have they finally decided that we are ready for the takeover? Think about it. Once the boomer generation has passed into history by fair or foul, what is left?

A small amount of people that are informed and intelligent. The young generation are absolutely ready and willing for the subservience to their NWO masters. They are pleading for it all over the internet. They will get it, and they will get it good and hard.

There is no spine in today’s youth, and they are sleepwalking into slavery. They just won’t know when they get there. They will be perfectly happy for their enslavement.

Look at how fast it is moving. Just wait a week or two, then it will become a lot clearer to a lot more people.

Will there be a mass revolt?

Do we still have enough brain power left?

Enjoy your lazy Sunday, sorry for the length!

    • Covid-19 is a miserably bad bio weapon. If not for the media and political hysteria you would not know it existed.

It kills a tiny percentage of the infected and most of them are sick and elderly. Fit fighting age people are largely spared.

The reaction is due to imbeciles not risk.

I agree 100% we are walking into slavery. In fact we are there now.

      5

      0

      • Hey chook, I agree. It is just some more interesting info. My only concern would be a mutation. Then the goalposts may move.

At the moment it is pure hysteria and control by fear, the most widely used apparatus on the imbeciles.

Probably most of the reported deaths are from influenza anyway, and they would never let us know.

We are already enslaved by debt now, yes. The next tranche is to be physical/mental.

The next 2 weeks could get interesting.

  21. Yesterday I raised the concept of “Fortress NZ” in which we eliminate the virus in this country, but are faced with it being endemic in the rest of the world.
The great strength of Fortress NZ is that it buys us time while medicines are tested and vaccines are developed. If an effective vaccine is found, then that will be wonderful. We can then lower the drawbridges.

    Questions to consider
How long can we hold out in Fortress NZ while we wait for a vaccine?
While we wait, stresses and pressures will build domestically. What are these likely to be and when are they likely to manifest themselves?
At what point do we consider the awful but natural “Herd Immunity” option?

    10

    0

    • Herd immunity is not awful. It will cause the least suffering.

It means we can keep working to build capacity to help the vulnerable who need it.

What we are doing is cynical and barbaric. The virus will not be stopped. But now we not only get as many virus deaths, but huge health, economic and social devastation.

Anyone who supports this is a fucking imbecile and I hope they and their worthless family die alone in agony.

      2

      2

      • The virus will definitely not be stopped. It will become just another flu strain that we live with, that wipes out the vulnerable.
What they are doing will bring about the collapse of the monetary system. Then they can implement the ‘solution’. Problem, Reaction, Solution. Textbook.

I’m off to the supermarket, a small rural one. Let’s see if there are any filth about.

But not Cindy’s gestapo, two wild black hairy ones were right down on the side of the road when I rounded a corner. Boy did they shit themselves. Lots of them about at present, coming right into the paddocks, as we are finally getting some real rain now. Maybe they sense that soon it will all be theirs after we are herded into our inner city apartment living in order to save the environment haha!!

  23. In case you haven’t seen this important government announcement yet:

Due to the current financial situation caused by the Corona Virus and slowdown in the economy, the Government has decided to implement a scheme to put workers of 50 years of age and above on early, mandatory retirement, thus creating jobs and reducing unemployment.

This scheme will be known as RAPE (Retire Aged People Early).

Persons selected to be RAPED can apply to the Government to be considered for the SHAFT program (Special Help After Forced Termination).

Persons who have been RAPED and SHAFTED will be reviewed under the SCREW program (System Covering Retired-Early Workers).

A person may be RAPED once, SHAFTED twice and SCREWED as many times as the Government deems appropriate.

Persons who have been RAPED could get AIDS (Additional Income for Dependents & Spouse) or HERPES (Half Earnings for Retired Personnel Early Severance).

Obviously persons who have AIDS or HERPES will not be SHAFTED or SCREWED any further by the Government.

Persons who are not RAPED and are staying on will receive as much SHIT (Special High Intensity Training) as possible. The Government has always prided themselves on the amount of SHIT they give our citizens.

Should you feel that you do not receive enough SHIT, please bring this to the attention of your TD, who has been trained to give you all the SHIT you can handle.

    Sincerely,
The Committee for Economic Value of Individual Lives (E.V.I.L.)

PS – Due to Corona Virus, recent budget cuts and the rising cost of electricity, gas and oil, as well as current market conditions, The Light at the End of the Tunnel has been turned off.

  25. It has been over a generation since the last “crisis” in New Zealand of 1987. Only people in at least their 20s AND paying off a mortgage in 1987 would have any great appreciation of that year. That means that no-one under the age of 55 today could recall Hard Times.
Since the early 1990s the NZ economy has boomed and boomed and boomed. House prices only ever go up, right?!
In 2008, credit became more easily available then ever before.
In 2019 Aucklands streets are paved with $28 smashed avocado breakfasts and the skyline is dotted with cranes.

2020. The year of the rat. (Or was it a bat?)

      I took notice.

I think people can see now that the bad media coverage Muldoon had ran a parallel to the coverage Trump gets.

Muldoon was nowhere near the worldliness of Trump but certainly not as bad as the media filth made out.
He belittled a couple of wankers including the smarmy little git Simon Walker and the media ganged up.

They have always been scum and It will be nice if a few of them go under in the next 3 months.

(Better not push the people too hard with a general election coming up, though.)
On the other hand, if I win the election with a majority, then I can continue my experiments on the People. It’s for their own good, you see!

There will no shortage of informants in New Zealand. These are the sort of people who run the speed camera vans or take videos of people driving in empty bus lanes. They are the snitches, busy-bodies and parking wardens of this world.

  30. We know the Boomers have had it lucky, some say. Maybe too the Millenials.
I think that Generation Z are going to harden up nicely, like their grandparents and great grand parents of the Depression and the war years.
My youngest daughter is 19. At about that age, her grandmother was working on the assembly line at Japan International Aircraft Industries. She saw real hardship and experienced the devastation to her city in July 1945. And now, my daughter may be about to witness a once-in-a-couple-of-generations event.
Generation Z are going to endure a beating, but one that will no doubt forge and toughen their character. I believe that the strong men and women who will eventually make good times will hail from Generation Z stock.

Urn deliveries in Wuhan raise questions about China’s real coronavirus death toll
    https://www.wnd.com/2020/03/urn-deliveries-wuhan-raise-questions-chinas-real-coronavirus-death-toll/

China has 81,999 confirmed cases, at least according to John Hopkins Center for Systems Science and Engineering. Of those cases, there were 3,299 deaths.

In the Hubei province, home to Wuhan, a city of about 8 million, there were reportedly 3,177 deaths. But massive deliveries of cremation urns to Wuhan have raised new questions about the communist country’s reporting.

“One funeral home received two shipments of 5,000 urns over the course of two days, according to the Chinese media outlet Caixin,” Fox News reported.

    • Every Chinese I know does not believe a word of the official figures. And it’s extremely rare for them to be critical of the CCP. They are seriously pissed off!

      7

      0

    • How many funeral homes in Hubei province?
I’d say keep an eye on the factory that produces the urns and monitor their use of raw materials (to gauge their production levels).

Also, find out how much toilet paper the factory is buying. This will be correlated to their labor force level.

      //

      6

      0

      • If the factory’s toilet paper consumption suddenly increases, it can mean only one of two things.
        – Shifts have been increased to ramp up urn production.
        – The head cook of the factory canteen has been changed, and the new guy from Shichuan really likes to prepare spicy food!

  34. Change of subject.

North Korea has fired an unidentified projectile into the ocean off its east coast, South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff said, without providing further details.

If confirmed as a ballistic missile, it would be the fourth such launch this month as North Korean troops conduct ongoing military drills, usually personally overseen by leader Kim Jong-un.

    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/world/2020/03/missiles-fired-in-north-korea-saudi-arabia.html?fbclid=IwAR3QVaqrBR-OdnvZIPjAoPETtzo3Iy7B2CepbQkH5oqEi_f1YjoVtJWQBeg

And ballistic missiles have been intercepted in the sky above Saudi Arabia’s capital Riyadh and the southern city of Jazan, state media report, citing its own sources and the Saudi-led coalition fighting in Yemen.

Residents in Riyadh reported multiple blasts around 11:20pm local time on Saturday, followed by emergency vehicle sirens in some northern districts.

  37. What is going on behind the scenes? There are 12000 German Citizens currently in New Zealand that have registered for repatriation flights that will be paid for buy the German government to Frankfurt. They were to use a combination of Lufthansa and Air NZ aircraft. All passengers would need to pay. But only once they were back in Germany. There was one Lufthansa 747 flight on Saturday. There was supposed to be the 1st Air NZ flight Saturday as well. But NZ Foreign affairs have put a hold on all flights. for the folowing stated reasons.
A Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT) spokesperson said officials had been directed to report back by March 31 on a framework for considering requests for further repatriation flights, including domestic travel requirements.
“Fundamental principles of the framework will be the health and safety of New Zealanders and ensuring any repatriation flights do not increase the burden on the New Zealand public health system.
“Until such time as a framework is agreed and all requirements of that framework are met, no assisted departure of foreign nationals in New Zealand should occur.”

How could repatriating 12000 people at zero cost to the NZ government put a strain on our health system?
Would it not potentially have the opposite effect. Freeing up accomodation places for future arrivals that need
places to self isolate. As for the domestic travel argument. Returning New Zealanders are being able to drive
up to five hours to a place of self isolation after they arrive. Why can the same rules not apply to departing people.
Thousands of these people are probably within taxi ride distance to Auckland airport. Their flight will take a maximum
of 24 hrs and once they are back in Germany they will be no longer our resposibility.
Air NZ has planes sitting idle. And furloughed crew and pilots who would volunteer to work the flights. Don’t they need the money?
Germany is a major manufacuter of equipment and materials needed to combat Covid19.All of these supplies are in huge demand right now. With all countries health systems competing on price to get what they need.
What are we asking from the German Government in return for allowing these flights to go ahead? Something to put in the cargo hold for the return journeys perhaps?

“I spoke with the Police Commissioner this morning who has confirmed police have all the resources they need. That includes the power to arrest and detain if needs be.

She should look at the Clarke Gayford in her eye/life that intends to be out & about fishing before she pokes other kiwis.

Doing this lock down on Kiwis, jobs, families, houses, etc.. yet so slow to close the back door on travel..

Just like stoking the land lord regulations for heating & insulation, and then acting like a happy camper leaving the doors & windows all open.

Or blaming landlords for some mould as the tenant keeping them all shut up, and after insulation then expecting landlords to put in shower, kitchen, bathroom ventilation fans because the tenant does not ventilate the house.

So while on that housing regulations, how essentially important is the dead line for that work to be done this year JULY.

So is it essential or not?
If essential then those land lords better find the stuff to start work on those houses, just as Damien OConnor believes that farmers should not be farming if they can not fence., but so it would be about feeding out hay & silage.

  41. If the government pushes too hard, people will ignore them. There are a couple of ways the State could go too far.

One is to announce the restriction of some good or service that Kiwis take for granted, such as Internet browsing, e-mail services, etc.
Another way to go too far is to ban actions that Kiwis believe to be harmless, such as going outside for a walk (while maintaining the 2-meter safety bubble).

Sure it was sort of splitting hairs, but that one of the reasons why this is CCP virus is spreading.

Police officers commenced actions to obtain public health orders requiring these individuals to complete their 14-day self-isolation periods at the hotel.”

When officers returned to serve the public health orders on these people a short time later, they found 33 had left the hotel, according to the statement.

“Six of the 33 individuals were located at Sydney Domestic Airport terminal by Australian Federal Police officers. These individuals have now been served with public health orders and are in self-isolation at a Sydney hotel, where they are required to remain for 14 days.

        • The problem was they never thought of the consequences, the price of lock-down which is going to cripple NZ.
If we had knocked the overseas tourist issue out, then kiwis in not travelling overseas would still be jaunting around, booking motels for a liason, business or playing happy families over Easter & school holidays.

Sure some pain for the education and tourist business’s but NZ would have been in a far better place to part support them.
Now we will all be crippled in this socialistic leveler, well except the governing elite, that demands money with menaces.

It is why when a ship answering an SOS, from one on the rocks, must not endanger itself! The Captain must not sacrifice his crew, ship, or himself.
Strangely enough all hell from maritime courts breaks loose for the rescuer if he gets it wrong.
Yet that helpful Captain draws on all his experience, knowledge, skills, information & ability to assess exactly where the limits are in what he can do and all the tricks in the book from his chief engineer, & navigator.
Yet within those parameters some amazing things can be done, but occasionally that real Captains decision is to stand off, but keeping a weather eye out for any possibilities that may come with a change of wind, or tide. etc…..

It is not just good luck, it is preparation, some thinking and a bit of doing, that is ready to fly when meeting opportunity.

That will reduce capacity on the link – which usually delivers power to the North Island – by a third to a half from January through to early February. [hopefully all that work is completed now] ……

      An interesting read.

Surely this industry can not be an “essential” after being told to wind down by Ardern’s adhan or does she point a bony finger at some minister to make an exemption while side stepping her adhans?

14-day self isolation coronavirus travel restrictions plays havoc with their ability to work
      https://www.stuff.co.nz/national/health/coronavirus/120367626/coronavirus-oil-and-gas-industry-workers-and-the-impact-of-selfisolation-restrictions
The job looks like it will certainly take longer, and it may well be as Stigie mentions, repairs, further inspections, may extend this shut down.

Only small plus, but 100% negative to NZ on the whole, is that there should be spare electricity capacity, as much of NZ is shut down.

A shortfall of gas will certainly get some pitchforks out to be heated.
Electricity problems will galvanize the rest.
Has another order for coal been put in for Huntly? 🙂
Would that nice man in Australia sell some our way, probably much cleaner than that Indonesian coal.

  47. What will Tokyo do?

Prime Minster Abe is well aware of the potential of a (New Zealand-style) lockdown to wreck the economy.
Reading between the lines, what I think will happen is that the citizens will make an unwritten pact with the Japanese State that it will be business as usual, but the citizens and enterprises will do their best to restrain close contact with one another, but will accept the (mostly) elderly deaths that may occur.

Let’s see what happens. Japanese stoicism may save the day again.

    • Japanese stoicism and pragmatism will save vastly more lives than the mawkish contrived virtue signaling of this nation of spiritless imbeciles.

Sci Fi has always challenged social norms and that’s good. But there needs to be more in a good story.

    • The Japanese may have learnt things from the Island Princess petri dish, being able to study it close up, and coming up with their own, not chinese understanding of it?
So maybe some clusters under lock-down or a quarantine area been set up and in use?

The planes look very busy flying to Japan.
Has the Japanese shut their windows and doors to all passengers, visitors?
Or is it a full on quarantine on areas, secure & health monitored for the ones wanting to stay over in Japan?

  48. Firefighters on Auckland’s west coast frustrated by people flouting lockdown rules

Muriwai’s volunteer firefighters are angry their time is being wasted as some people continue to flout the nationwide lockdown rules.
    https://www.tvnz.co.nz/one-news/new-zealand/firefighters-aucklands-west-coast-frustrated-people-flouting-lockdown-rules?auto=6145501049001

“Every time someone lights a fire, it activates a 111 call and volunteers like ourselves have to leave our families at home and go out, deal with it and we’re here for emergencies, that’s why we’re all volunteering, not to go and put pointless bonfires out.”

With an incoming tide and deep sand, the crew’s vehicle became bogged down and eight crews were left “sitting up the beach for four hours because we couldn’t be back here,” Mr Perrie said.

  50. I haven’t taken this Covid-19 flu seriously enough.

Camps should be set up to concentrate doomers and Ardern fans into a safe space so they can receive the care they richly deserve. I will personally run the camps for free. As a service to humanity.

I just need lots of machine guns and some earth moving equipment…. to um… to keep out lockdown down breachers and white nationalists.

  52. Trumps has pushed through so much for the people.
If we all grab an oar, lets row to the US, ok?

Medici’s Clint Phillips: Trump Gave 100 Million Americans Virtual Care Access with Telehealth Reform

He said that this is “a big game-changer that the Trump administration has put forward, which is just huge for healthcare innovation, for people getting care. Over 100 million people have access to virtual care because of what the White House and the Trump administration have put out. Doctors can get paid for virtual care for Medicare.”

  53. So the numbers coming out of the US are obviously supposed to be the benchmark for scariness it seems.

Influenza is estimated to affect 36 million Americans each flu season, with only 225k odd confirmed. About 22k die each year from influenza. I think I read that in one of Ed’s posts.

So if the Wu hu hu flu is to get anywhere near those numbers, and we take a flu season to be roughly 4 months tops, they would need 9 million estimated cases in a month to be comparable?

Does anyone know the influenza rates of Italy or NZ for that matter? Ok that’s a lazy question 💤

      • It just shows the huge over reaction we are witnessing doesn’t it?

I still get to work for now but expect to be given the dcm this week. In one of the largest suppliers to hospitality in NZ. The output on Friday was around 8% of a normal day. I know I’m not alone in this boat. Our economy is going to be flushed over this there’s almost no doubt.

  54. Armed police arrest man with ‘huge’ knife, person crushed between wall and truck in Wellington

A man with weapons who scared staff in a Wellington hotel has been arrested by armed police.
    https://www.tvnz.co.nz/one-news/new-zealand/armed-police-arrest-man-huge-knife-person-crushed-between-wall-and-truck-in-wellington

Police said they received reports of a man behaving aggressively and threatening to damage the property. One person was taken into custody.

Meanwhile, a block away, police had cordoned off a side alley off Boulton Street, where a person was hit and crushed between a truck and a wall this afternoon.

Officers are working at the scene, where a tarpaulin sits over the front of the light truck, between a church and apartments.

  55. The man who has been cutting down trees here and taking firewood for sale messaged me today asking if he could come out and get some wood as he was now an essential industry. I said no, he said that he had a letter saying he was allowed. I am sure his situation isn’t what was permitted. I could imagine the neighbours having a fit hearig a chainsaw going and someone outside my bubble going about what would look like doing wood for me, but no different to doing it for someone else.

Of course the deal was to do wood for me, before the lockdown. Anyway I rang the 105 number to clarify if there was a central register of ‘permits’, anyone can write a letter, and last i heard he didn’t even have a legal vehicle, I have no idea who would have even written him one, he was happy to show me if I had allowed him into my bubble but why would I.

105 operator asked me if I wanted to lay a complaint naming him. As I replied, he hadn’t actually done anything as I hadn’t enabled him. I can imagine getting a visit if I had. I was asked for my details though.
