  1. I signed up for click and collect shopping, but can’t get a slot for eight days.
Probably won’t bother with it during WuFlu, but having been jolted into investigating (and having the time to do so) will likely use it after.
I wonder how many buyer behaviours will be permanently altered in the aftermath.
If systems are set up for online shopping and home delivery at the local green grocer and butchery, will people continue to use those services?
What will our post-WuFlu lives be like?

  2. “The W.H.O. really blew it. For some reason, funded largely by the United States, yet very China centric. We will be giving that a good look. Fortunately I rejected their advice on keeping our borders open to China early on. Why did they give us such a faulty recommendation?” DJ Trump (Twitter)

WHO is about to get a haircut from US funding.

  3. Coronavirus: No clear successor if Health Minister David Clark were sacked – Bryce Edwards

As Jacinda Ardern said on Tuesday, in normal circumstances Dr Clark’s violation of the lockdown rules would see him booted out of the health portfolio, but she decided against that, concerned about the resulting disruption in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. Instead, he was stripped of his Associate Finance Minister role and kicked to the bottom of the Cabinet rankings.

Political commentator Dr Bryce Edwards told Newshub that Ardern was forced into a challenging position. He says even if the Prime Minister could get rid of Dr Clark, there’s no clear successor.

    • It’s very simple

Labour have crashed the economy with gigantic unemployment; jobs that will not return (380 pilots laid off) businesses collapsed; a police state on par with East Germany 1970 and yet there are bugger all sick or dead.
So they need to get the dead and sick numbers up or questions will be asked.
Well maybe; the media are on their knees and beholden as is the rest of the country.

We have strong primary health care in NZ (in part, from nine years of the Finance Minister being married to a working Doctor, a medical doctor, not Doctor of Divinity)
The flu that hit Australia hard in 2018 (4000 to 8000 dead) barely touched NZ, then went to USA where there was 80,000 dead). The 2009 swine flu had 19 dead in NZ. Not a lot.
There were 8 dead from road deaths on the weekend of 22/23 Feb 2020 and 5 dead from the weekend 25/26 January. Nobody panicked. It did not destroy industry.

Dr Clark (not a real Doctor) knows this and knows it is not bad here which is why he knew it was safe to go to the beach and mountain bike. It is so low penetration flu that he did not even need to be in Wellington.

Meantime the crisis creators – Ardern and Robertson – are in Wellington stirring up panic and destroying lives but people are not dying.
      This is giving bad optics.
They need to get the death rate up to justify the seismic shift in the economy and destruction of human rights.

Stage 2 of crisis creation – (not crisis management) is to import people from countries where there is sickness and get the death rate up otherwise they are going to look like right eggs for the lockdown.
Peters did his call to get 80,000 people back from countries with lower healthcare standards.
      Import the disease.

At this stage the deaths from suicide from financially stressed people will far exceed the death from the flu. Like Ardern ever cared about suicide. Yeah, Nah.
The death rate from people denied elective surgery will exceed it.

They are desperate for a body count from the flu.
      Hence; leave the borders open.
With the sheer nastiness of Little , Ardern, and Robertson if that fails perhaps they will they start spraying people standing in supermarket queues.
I would not put it past them.

These people are sickos. Ardern spent her first 20 years in the Mormon cult. It is very dictatorial, dogmatic, and controlling – the very things she has become.

Never blame incompetence when the real driver may be sheer malice.
We saw the shutdown of Oil and Gas for pure malice purposes because the environmental impact will be worse.
The real sickness is the attitude of Ardern, Robertson, and Little.

  4. Wage subsidy scheme pay out jumps up to $6.6 billion

The wage subsidy has paid out $6.6 billion so far, representing 41 per cent of New Zealand’s workforce, after yesterday saw almost $1.3b paid to businesses.

“The wage subsidy scheme has provided support to preserve the jobs of over 1 million New Zealanders,” Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said today.

Ms Ardern said almost 10,000 applications were made yesterday alone.

Already exceeding its original estimate of $5.1 billion, the pay out comprises of 914,931 employees and 158,198 sole traders – 41 per cent of the New Zealand workforce.

    • Where is the money to repay this $6.6 billion going to come from?
      I know! Print more money!
Great! This will devalue the currency. Houses and other real non-cash assets will inflate, but food and other prices will increase. The $NZ will decline again other currencies (provided that they aren’t also printing money). But in the meantime, interest rates on bank deposits are close to zero. What gives? I would have thought that term deposit rates would have to rise, to offset the decline in the purchasing power of the $NZ?

      • Good questions Odakyu-sen
Dangerous economic times.NZ needs steady financial management.
There has even been talk of a negative OCR ,not that that affects retail interest rates much.
Further down the track more tax and redistribution of wealth.Possible targets include anyone who has successfully saved for their retirement.and their children’s welfare.

        • It sends a very bad message to society when you punish hard-working, productive, tax-paying law-abiding citizens who raise the next generation of responsible children who will bear and build the nation, but you reward the wastrels who have done quite the opposite and who have created so much work for State agency employees…

          …Wait a minute

    • employers dumping employees, and pocketing the money already.
The old High Trust model thing needs a stick. Luckily the SFO is pointing out the obvious – that they will be prosecuted. Easily discovered.

I also am a bit underwhelmed in the payment compared with Australia, and the fact it is only a little over $100 a week for someone on the unemployment benefit.
So full time worker gets marginally more than a beneficiary. Beneficiaries just got an increase.
At best, it might allow some people to battle through, or some employers to top up, but the only real answer is to return to normality ASAP and undo some of the damage caused by Cind-20.

  5. Simon Bridges’ petition demanding mandatory quarantine at NZ’s borders gains over 20,000 signatures in first day

A National-led petition demanding mandatory quarantine for everyone entering New Zealand’s borders has gained over 20,000 signatures in its first day.

The petition is calling on the Government to require everyone arriving into New Zealand – symptomatic of coronavirus or not – to undergo at least 14 days of mandatory quarantine.

National leader Simon Bridges told TVNZ1’s Breakfast the experts on his committee all say quarantine is necessary, and the petition shows Kiwis do too.

“This is seriously urgent. I think as we’re sacrificing we need to make sure this lockdown is worthwhile,” said Mr Bridges.

  6. YSB is very powerful, how do I know?

Well firstly, I want to commend all the commenters and posters – you are doing an important job here. Don’t think that just because your trolling isn’t getting a reaction, or you are doing it anonymously – that you are aren’t achieving much. You are!

How do I know? Well let me recount a small but very telling example.

I’ve been harping on about stoopid Cindy’s (SC for short) links to China for some time – in particular how SC spent time in China as part of her time as “Comrade” President of Supreme Soviet International Children’s Youth presidium.

A few days back Sooty asked for more info on this and I went to link SC’s wikipedia page where I had first seen the mention of her time spent in China.

To my (well not really surprise), to my disgust – as the world’s attention is increasingly being turned to China’s evil behaviour over the release of the bio-weapon of Chinese Corona virus – I discovered that the reference to SC’s time in China had been removed.

On further investigation, I noticed that SC’s wiki page is edited on average 2 times per day over the past few weeks – which is a lot – when you compare it to the world’s vainest, most selfish self-promoter (Meghan Markle) whose page is only edited, polished etc half as much as SC’s page is.

I pointed this out in my reply to Sooty – both that the ‘damning’ link to China had been surreptitiously removed since the Chinese bioweapon was released, and of the unprecedented frequency of the tinkering of SC’s public profile on wikipedia.

I then looked a little further and despite Wikipedia’s reputation for transparency – where every change is recorded in the page’s history – there was no sign of who (or why) the link to China was missing where it had once been present.

Fortunately SC’s handlers and protecters weren’t too smart and they left the reference after removing the damning evidence. I linked the source document in YSB.

The weird thing is, now the reference to Cindy’s time in China has been returned – again nothing is shown in the history tab of this mysterious ressurection of the truth.

I’ve scanned the media, there is no mention of this in any news reports that I can find. The only place where this dodgy liar’s bullshit was mentioned was in YSB.

So from this I can deduce:
    a) Any mention of stoopid Cindy is being monitored by bad actors seeking to hide the truth about stoopid Cindy’s real motivations
    b) YSB is being very closely watched with every comment being checked – and in this case – immediately acted on
    c) the watchers hate being watched – they’ve covered their tracks (in Wikipedia now anyway) before NZ’s coterie of highly trained attack dog investigative journalists came across this smoking gun (yeah the last bit was satire)
    d) I suggest we keep a watch on SC’s wikipedia page – I’ve noticed since Sooty’s post and my reply – the constant tinkering of SC’s page has dropped off a little

Ed – you need to be very careful. Remember Ghandi’s words “First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, they attack you, then you win”.

If nothing else, this little episode proves that what you have got going here at YSB is viewed as a potential problem by the Deep State (I suspect it’s not NZ-based by SC’s oriental handlers – who else has the mass manpower to read everything like the proverbial infinite number of monkeys).

They are in the “first they ignore you” stage
I wonder how long before YSB becomes the subject of the mass mocking of the Left. They will hold off on that as long as possible – because they know that will trigger a flood of the curious to come here and they don’t want the sheeple subjected to different viewpoints if they can help it. The “attack” phase will be witheringly brutal – I hope your seals are tight.

But YSBers – you are making a difference. Keep on calling the bullshit. Together we are stronger. I learn heaps of interesting things from coming here – I don’t believe everything – but in a world where it is so hard to get a diversity of information – YSB is a powerful feed of wrongthink ideas all challenging the narrative.

You are doing the work of the angels fellow stupid boyos.

  7. Cindy called Winston one day and said I’ve got a plan to help us win the election.

“Great Cindy but how?” asked Winston.

“We’ll get some cheesy clothes and shoes like most Middle Class Kiwis wear, then stop at the pound and pick up a Labrador Retriever.

Then, we’ll go to a nice old country bar in Taranaki and show them how much admiration and respect we have for the hard working people living there.”

So they did, and found just the place they were looking for in Opunaki. With the dog in tow, they walked inside and stepped up to the bar.

The Bartender took a step back and said, “Hey! Aren’t you Winston and Cindy?”

“Yes we are!” said Cindy, “And what a lovely town you have here. We were passing through and Winston suggested we stop and take in some local colour.”

They ordered a round of Scotch for the whole bar, and started chatting up a storm with anyone who would listen.

A few minutes later, a grizzled old farmer came in, walked up to the Labrador, lifted up its tail, looked underneath, shrugged his shoulders and walked out.

A few moments later, in came another old farmer. He walked up to the dog, lifted up its tail, looked underneath, scratched his head and left the bar.

For the next hour, another dozen farmers came in, lifted the dog’s tail, and left shaking their heads.

Finally, Cindy asked, “Why did all those old farmers come in and look under the dog’s tail? Is it some sort of custom?”

“Lord no,” said the bartender. “Someone’s out there running around town, claiming there’s a Labrador Retriever in here with two arse holes!”

  8. I just read this from the UK on Breitbart. Absolutely appalling. There will have to be root and branch reform of the failing NHS once this is over.

“The chief medical officer, Professor Chris Whitty, has banned doctors from treating Covid-19 with anything other than paracetamol and in severe cases, oxygen.

Colleagues have rightly condemned this response, which ignores the experience of doctors overseas. Professor Whitty’s position is that British doctors may not use therapies that have not undergone double blind controlled trials here. This could condemn many thousands to avoidable death through a failure to recognise that different rules should apply when patients are dying at such a rate.

The drug hydroxychloroquine is well-known, with a well-understood side-effect profile. It is safe. It also has a recognised mode of action in preventing replication of the virus. Comparison of the death rates in South Korea and Italy strongly suggests that it works to dramatically reduce the death rate. Evidence from India is similarly encouraging.”

    • Surely the question should be are the MOH or Pharmac allowing its use in NZ (as it has been in Aussie), or are we following the neanderthals like that Professsor and ignoring the possiblilties with these well known drugs?

Anyone know becuse I have seen no mention of this lately althought I did posy way back about it and how the aussies were doing a trial in 50 hospitals and that included auckland. Perhaps they haven’t had any patients yet?

    • It is hard to see how the British built an empire that spanned the world but easy to see how they lost that in 40 years.

The communists that ran the unions did their best to further the damage (their own MI6 did not help) and a whole lot of those pommy trouble makers came out here in the 1960s and 1970s.
They comprised a fair whack of the ‘Union Leaders’ in that era.
Fortunately they were not as rabid as Britain when you see what it went through in the 1960s and 1970s. Most were extremely punchable fuckwits.

      Union leaders are typically wreckers.
Note that half the current NZ Cabinet are former Union leaders/troublemakers.
      Draw your own conclusion.

Britain has not really earned the title ‘Great Britain’ in the last 70 years.
I do not know if Boris can put a dent in that trend.

    • Anyone who thinks the police will let go of this power, post hysteria, is delusional.

NZ is changed forever due to the hysteria of imbeciles. Our most basic freedoms are gone. Because of the hysteria of imbeciles.

    • Every one who now belongs to the newly unemployed with a holiday home will already be there .The ones that the police will be stopping this Friday are the hard working essential workers that have kept food available for the masses .they will be trying to have a small break away in their bubble with the kids before going back to WORK .

    • The piggies are just sounding off.
      They relish these powers.

      Remember the hand in glove.
Ardern’s father was a cop for many years. In Murupara during very rapey times I might add (1980s) .
This extra power is not a co-incidence and there is quid pro quo for the many indiscretions that Arden and her rapey Labourites have got away with.

One dirty hand washes the other- for more than 20 seconds !

There is little incentive to go anywhere.
You cannot dine out. No sport. Everything that happens at Easter is cancelled. Easter show, car meets and rallys, cultural events, reunions et al.

      The cops are showboating.
They have been waiting for these powers to return since 1981.
They wont let them get away so easily.

  9. Coronavirus: Horticulture jobs ripe for the picking amid COVID-19 economic downturn

People desperate for work due to the impact of Covid-19 are being urged to check out the horticulture sector.

Many workers from industries affected by the pandemic have already sought work in horticulture, with a lack of overseas workers leading to more availability of work in the sector.

Gisborne apple orchardist Natalya Egan says she is welcoming workers with open arms.

  10. So it appears Labour are feverishly working behind the scenes to give Prisoners the vote- And that it will be finalised very soon.
How on earth does this fit in with Jacinda ‘Hug a Crim’ Ardern’s claim that Covid 19 is the ‘Sole Focus’ of her Government??

    • It’s worse than you think. I get updates about new legislation.

There is a shit ton of new (and bad) law being rushed through while sheeple are distracted by irrational paranoia over a flu.

I warned about this hysteria months ago. But it’s worse than I ever imagined. Every aspect of our lives is diminished. The doomers have also wrecked their children’s futures too. They can take that to the grave with them.

  11. Hope this helps.

Hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin as a treatment of COVID-19: results of an open-label non-randomized clinical trial

Chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine have been found to be efficient on SARS-CoV-2, and reported to be efficient in Chinese COV-19 patients. We evaluate the role of hydroxychloroquine on respiratory viral loads.

    Patients and methods
French Confirmed COVID-19 patients were included in a single arm protocol from early March to March 16th, to receive 600mg of hydroxychloroquine daily and their viral load in nasopharyngeal swabs was tested daily in a hospital setting. Depending on their clinical presentation, azithromycin was added to the treatment. Untreated patients from another center and cases refusing the protocol were included as negative controls. Presence and absence of virus at Day6-post inclusion was considered the end point.

Six patients were asymptomatic, 22 had upper respiratory tract infection symptoms and eight had lower respiratory tract infection symptoms.

Twenty cases were treated in this study and showed a significant reduction of the viral carriage at D6-post inclusion compared to controls, and much lower average carrying duration than reported of untreated patients in the literature. Azithromycin added to hydroxychloroquine was significantly more efficient for virus elimination.

Despite its small sample size our survey shows that hydroxychloroquine treatment is significantly associated with viral load reduction/disappearance in COVID-19 patients and its effect is reinforced by azithromycin.

  12. How long before the gym can open again?
I have put on a kg since the start of the lockdown. I down think that my alcohol consumption is helping (or is it the snacks that I have with my budget red wine…?).

My trip to Japan this year is not happening.
I miss the real Japanese pubs so much: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l3ifRE7BQiM
After this virus burns out, things are never going to be the same in again!

  13. ED, how many of the labour ministers in the lead photo have not made a complete fool of them selves?
The whole bloody lot have proved that all they are all student activists and not very good at that.
A class photo clowns. The only thing missing are the shoes and clown car!

    • It’s incredible to watch how those who are normally so critical of the mass media are now accepting the media media narrative about Covid-19 so uncritically.

These will be same category of people who think there are diseases such as Islamaphobia and Anti Semitism.

  14. I couldn’t believe it Peter Williams told someone on magic this morning there is only a trickle of 200 people coming into the country each day. WTF? they should have built a lock down facility a few weeks ago to prepare for this. They are total fools

    • A friend of mine arrived back from the UK on Sunday. He is in compulsory taxpayer funded solitary at a central Auckland hotel for 2 weeks. We have a friend’s daughter self isolating in our sleep out at present since last Thursday. It seems random.

    Exit FB

  16. Trump replaces Pentagon IG, removing him from coronavirus relief oversight panel

“Glenn Fine has a good reputation as a tough federal prosecutor and former [Department of Justice] Inspector General, and must exercise his full oversight authority to ensure that the Trump administration implements the CARES Act as intended,” Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) said in a statement last week.

The move follows several steps Trump has taken to combat oversight of the bailout fund. After signing the relief package into law last month, the president issued a signing statement saying he would not allow the special inspector general for the relief program to report to Congress without his supervision.

  17. Irrefutable evidence.

How the deep state controls your fear and controls you.

Operation Dark Winter was the code name for a senior-level bio-terrorist attack simulation conducted from June 22–23, 2001

Operation Amalgam Virgo is a CINCNORAD[1] joint task counter-terrorist and field training exercise (FTX) carried out in Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida on early June 2001

    Actual event:

The September 11 attacks (also referred to as 9/11)[a] were a series of four coordinated terrorist attacks by the Islamic terrorist group al-Qaeda[3][4][5] against the United States on the morning of Tuesday, September 11, 2001.

Atlantic Storm was a ministerial exercise simulating the top-level response to a bioterror incident. The simulation operated on January 14, 2005 in Washington, D.C. It was created in part to reveal the current international state of preparedness and possible political and public health issues that might evolve from such a crisis

Hurricane Katrina was the costliest tropical cyclone on record, tied with Hurricane Harvey in 2017, causing $125 billion in damage, particularly in the city of New Orleans and the surrounding areas, and over 1,200 deaths

  18. CDC Director: Coronavirus Death Toll Will Be ‘Much, Much, Much Lower’ than Projected

DR. ROBERT REDFIELD: I think it’s really important. First, models are only as good as their assumptions. Obviously, there was a lot unknown about this virus. The ability to actively make a lot of assumptions was much wider than if this was an Influenza B outbreak. Second thing, I will say from a public health perspective, to me, the real value of models is to have a model and then try to understand — if I invest resources here, what does that do to the model?

  19. “Jones said that’s going to require cutting through red tape”.
So why hasn’t Shane Jones cut through that red tape over the past 2 and 1/2 years? The pandemic has provided an excellent springboard for the required reform. //

Coronavirus: Shane Jones eager to help regions from COVID-19 onslaught

Jones, the minister in charge of Regional Economic Development, Forestry and Infrastructure, finds himself at the centre of that agenda.

He told The AM Show his three focuses were repurposing the Provincial Growth Fund (PGF), rolling out mega infrastructure projects and ensuring New Zealand has a forestry sector that “favours domestic production, domestic manufacturing, domestic employment and not too much of a diversion of sending all of our logs overseas and not having enough raw material to create jobs in New Zealand.”

Jones said that’s going to require cutting through red tape and looking at new ways to incentivise employment. He said ministers were “identifying a new route where consents can be allocated”.

“Yesterday’s logic is not going to cut it for today’s turbulence and challenges,” the minister told The AM Show.

  20. Cycling through Remuera this morning I was conscious that the traffic was heavier than usual for this time of year.
Everyone is at home it seems! This is unusual. I conclude that since the good burghers of Remuera and Parnell are not at their holiday houses or off overseas for Easter or yachting as is their want, they are instead being forced to take their Porche Cayennes and Bentley Habaneros for drives to keep the batteries charged (or some other excuse).

  21. Businesses need clarity over the “confusing” essential service rules and urgent measures need to be looked at to tackle cashflow issues, business leader Phil O’Reilly this morning told Parliament’s Covid-19 select committee.

The epidemic select committee today picked apart the impact Government’s response to Covid-19 has had on various industries, with those hardest hit including tourism, restaurants and freight.

Mr O’Reilly said businesses were reporting confusion around the current essential services rules, making it “needlessly stressful”.

“We need to rethink this issue of essential business quite quickly.” He said businesses that are able to operate safely, contactless and online should be able to continue operating through the lockdown.

Mr O’Reilly said it was essential companies knew the “pathway forward” the Government was planning for business after the alert level four lockdown.

“The number one thing Government could do right now… is to give businesses some confidence about what the rules will be as we move out of level four.

  22. The people of New Zealand have learned a lot about their government, the police, and the conformative-loving aspect of NZ society in the last few weeks.
Some New Zealanders will be most happy at the strong measures taken by the government, the use of the police force to ensure conformity, and the systems put in place for informers to report on transgressions against the “Rules.” They will be happy at how the State is “putting people’s lives” above all, including the businesses that provide employment and pay taxes. After all, who can argue against “saving lives”? Only a monster would do so, surely?
For other New Zealanders, this same period has provided an opportunity to see the mask slip. The true nature of the government, its love of control, as well as the Tall-Poppy syndrome of New Zealand society has been brought into focus.

How easily we have given up our liberties for some imagined security.
I fear we shall get what we deserve.

It has been a sobering learning experience. It seems many have forgotten the value of the freedoms that New Zealanders of a couple of generations ago fought and died for.

    • ……”the use of the police force to ensure conformity, and the systems put in place for informers to report on transgressions against the “Rules.””……

You have obviously never been part of the “counter culture”. Instance those rebels of yesteryear who were hounded & narked on by neighbours & do gooders for smoking marijuana. Only fifty years ago & it was a police state.

……”The true nature of the government, its love of control, as well as the Tall-Poppy syndrome of New Zealand society has been brought into focus.”……

It’s always been there. It is just that times like these bring it into focus.

If there’s one thing NZ has never been short of it is know-all cunts who want to impose their standards & their religious shit onto the rest of us.

  23. Dish shit to the voters long enough and in time they get to be fed up with your shit.

California has been a Democrat stronghold for a long time.
Everybody knows this. And high-ranking leaders like Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, Adam Schiff, and Maxine Waters keep the state very liberal.
But a major shift could be right around the corner…
Typically, Democrats hold the edge in any new seat election in the state. And the latest numbers show Dems still have that edge.
However, that edge is definitely dwindling.
For the first time in a while, nine Democrat seats in California actually appear to be vulnerable.
The GOP is making a BIG push to take those seats back!

These are nine seats currently held by Democrats where Republicans have the upper hand based on analysis of Tuesday’s primary votes.
…nine seats showed Republicans either within striking distance or outright beating Democrats.

  24. ‘Completely unacceptable’ – People claiming Covid-19 symptoms are spitting at police, hospital staff

There have been multiple reports of hospital staff, supermarket staff and police officers being deliberately coughed and spat on during the coronavirus pandemic, Police Commissioner Andrew Coster says.

Eight police staff are in isolation after being spat at by people who claimed they tested positive for Covid-19 or had symptoms of being unwell.

  25. I see Deborah Birx the White House Coronavirus Response Coordinator, who stands next to Dr Anthony Fauci when Trump
does virus updates has a couple of little somethings she’s not telling us.

It must be pissing her off no end, that Trump has found the cure and she can’t get to play God.

  26. Hipkins said 17,000 electronic devices have been ordered by the Government and are confirmed to be shipped to students this month, and thousands more have been ordered from overseas.

“Where we are unable to immediately connect a household with the Internet or get a device to a student, we will be working with schools and kura to provide hard-copy learning materials direct to homes.”

Hipkins also urged parents not to worry if their child doesn’t receive a device or hard copy materials in the first wave.

    Huge education handout.

    Interesting time coming for teachers.

    • The school holidays were brought forward.
This is an indication the lack-of-Government intend to have a long lockdown.

Long enough to let many business go under and those that remain will be brought under their control.

    • Doctors and nurses were complaining and wanted a lot of other peoples gadgets shut down, as their computerized thingies were on a go slow as everybody else was over loading the systems.

So how much more will this slow down the systems?

Will it have to be rationed? some websites shut down? whilst saying “think of the children”

      Is this the plan?

If this occurs another major festering area, like the non quarantining border control, that if promptly lanced, and painful, would have stopped the contagion backing up into the public body of 5 million people of NZ,
For a month it was all the CCP virus cases were strongly related to “overseas travel” and it is still very high.

But now it is all glossed over, to show the firmness of command, decisiveness, of her fatwas from one who relishes sadistically inflicting her honey atonement commands of well-being, kindness, compassion, with utter thoughtlessness, while being happy to inflict guilt, on all & sundry.

Yet Ardern was the one who allowed the festering poison, to keep coming in, whilst indecisive dithering for adhan days.

  27. Kea was right about increased police crackdown…

Eight police staff are in isolation after being spat at by people who claimed they tested positive for Covid-19 or had symptoms of being unwell.

Speaking at his press conference on Wednesday, Cmmr Coster said authorities have received 37,000 reports of breaches, and there have been 45 prosecutions – up from 16 on Tuesday.

    More enforcement and checkpoints

Firmer enforcement is on the way over the Easter period in case people think of travelling.

Cmmr Coster said Kiwis thinking of breaking the lockdown to head to popular areas need to “change your plans immediately”.

People can expect to see more checkpoints and mobile controls set up to catch offenders.

  28. Tauranga police arrest Mongols gang member, seize ammo stockpile amid shooting investigation

Police have raided two properties in central Tauranga today resulting in an arrest and the seizure of cash and several prohibited items.

A 37-year-old man with affiliations to the Mongols Motorcycle Club was arrested and will appear in front of the Tauranga District Court tomorrow on charges of possession of methamphetamine for supply and unlawful possession of a firearm.

Among the list of items seized was 14 grams of methamphetamine, $40,000 in cash and and a semi-automatic rifle along with what police have described as a “significant” amount of ammunition.

    • “With all respiratory diseases, the only thing that stops the disease is herd immunity. About 80% of the people need to have had contact with the virus, and the majority of them won’t even have recognized that they were infected, or they had very, very mild symptoms, especially if they are children.

[ From an actual expert. Not a pink haired political activist]

      • Going forward many people won’t be able to afford toilet paper.

People need to wake up and accept that the real pain, death, and misery, lays ahead. Because of the shutdown. And it wont be short term. Your children’s futures are destroyed. As will be most people’s retirement plans. All because of power mad politicians enabled by the criminally ignorant.

As for the virus – it will continue to infect just as many people. At least 80%

      • People are inclined to look upon motivational propaganda & spinning nationalism as recent concepts Odakyu-sen. The controlling classes have been trying to raise armies on the cheap for centuries.

The case of your own whakapapa in WW2 has always interested me. Not often are people successfully coerced to die for naked national expansion.

        • Yes nasska and we have learnt nothing from the mistakes of our forefathers.

The hysteria around us now could just have easily been created and directed at another nation or religion.

My opinion of humanity is at an all time low.

        • What amazes and horrifies me is how so many people have forgotten the lessons of the recent past.

I am amazed at how this NZ government has granted wartime powers to the police and how the public has gone along with this move. I really didn’t think that a civilian police force during peacetime would be so easily handed this kind of power. Not in my lifetime. And yet, here we are!

People ask me how a civilized country like Japan (of the Showa Period) could have done the things it did. Blind trust in the State to do the right thing. Unquestioning obedience to men in uniform. Fear. (Of course, many of these precursors were not unique to Japan at that period in history.)

Well guess what. I have seen with my own eyes many of these same precursors in action in New Zealand in the last month. I’ll call them “precursors” because they can be used to make both good and evil, a bit like the way pseudoephedrine can be used for cough remedies but also for far more horrific end products (in the wrong hands).

I never believed that New Zealanders could be so obedient and compliant. They really trust their government to do the right thing. Just like another island nation of the Deep Blue Pacific, not so long ago…

          • A lot higher than I thought it would be.
Sorry to to have to come to believe that this blog seems to be an echo chamber of very small numbers.

The poll found that 83% of respondents have “trust in the government to deal successfully with national problems”,

while 88% “trust the government to make the right decisions on Covid-19”.

The average on the latter figure among G7 countries surveyed by Colmar Brunton is 59%.

May be people really want to feel they are in the blood & pus of the festering boil, before lancing it.

But what a mess this is going to be, and full quarantine is only looking to be in place at the end of this week 🙁
An economy does not hibernate, and government money is not going to cure it, but risks developing even more bad habits. 🙁

          • Contaminating planes
Even the recent overseas travellers in the past week. 🙁

Full quarantine at the end of the week.

Yet in the mean time NZ has been dosing up on CCP virus.

Takes around 2-3 weeks before a person realizes that he has a serious problem.
Most that are going to go critical (ICU care) do so after about 3-5 weeks from onset of symptoms (which can be up to 5-7 weeks from the initial exposure/infection).

This is a bit more than a bird flu. and seems to be able to take its time, so as to be more effective in its spread.

  29. Doctors accuse John Tamihere of telling staff to lie for coronavirus test

Two Māori doctors have walked off the job at a Covid-19 testing clinic in west Auckland, after claims urban Māori leader John Tamihere allegedly told his staff to lie in order to meet the criteria to get tested.

Dr Yearsley said Tamihere had approached her on Tuesday last week with instructions to test Waipareira staff members for Covid-19.

She said she responded that the clinic would screen the staff members but would not test those who did not meet criteria.

“He told me directly, on the Tuesday before, that he would make his staff lie to be able to meet criteria so that they can be tested,” she said.

“That morning, we were approached by John and his management team with information that he was going to have his staff come down to be tested for Covid.

“I explained, as I did the day before, that we could screen his staff but not necessarily test them but he was adamant he wanted them tested.”

  30. This morning, as usual, I took the dog for a walk along the beach. About a kilometre of sand strewn with enough rock to lend character & a road running adjacent. Sixty or seventy beach houses arise above part of it.

But there was only Tara & I. No other sign of life. Reminiscent of Nevil Shute’s ‘On the Beach’.

  31. Sorry I’m late.

    Work and you know, whatnot.

I didn’t miss kea’s snuggle up this morning with a fuzzy duckling though. Exciting stuff.

Keas and ducks, not a good mix I take it?

    Anyway, another day, another peso.

Got maybe a lifeline today, told it was hoped that I apply for a new role after my redundancy. Guess I’m lucky for the phone call.

Not convinced of long term benefit, but beats being on THE benefit short or long huh.

Mrs Floyd doesn’t really need to work. She tends to the horses, and the chooks, and now a wild kitten she is trying to tame.

So it sounds like I will have to take whatever is on offer if it becomes so.

    And so it goes.

Feeling lucky I’m not one of the SLG’s suckers. They will feel way more pain than most. The rest of us will keep striving, earning, investing, and buying stuff.

I will look after me and mine.

The socialist tards can go get one up them.
