  1. Amazing.
Driving to work yesterday morning I listened to Hosking say
that he reckoned Trump was buggered because he got booed at some rally.
I couldn’t think what he was referring to.

    This must have been it:
    https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2024/05
    /the_libertarian_party_decides_to_compete_against_biden_not_trump.html
(I tried to shorten the link but stuffed up!!!)

Did he not hear about Trump’s rally in the Bronx where they have voted
blue forever but 25,000 people turned up to support him!

  2. WHO has released the proposed amendments to the International Health Regulations 2005 dated 27 May 2024. It has been agreed that each signatory country shall have a “National IHR Authority” and “The National IHR Authority shall coordinate the implementation of these Regulations within the jurisdiction of the State Party”.

(So the “National IHA Authority will just be the WHO’s little bitch then? Our “fearless freedom fighting” government had better not agree to this fascist dictate either and just tell the Ethiopian terrorist to fuck off)

      • Can anyone who votes Notional /especially voted in 2023,
have the courage of your convictions and tell us why ?

The only thing in the last 30 years is they ‘are not liebour’

-Gave us the Max bradford version of electricity supply
-leaky homes ad no solution to it
-Via Shirt-lifter Soimon Upton gave us the RMA then bleated about it ever since
        -signed UNDRIP
-No tax cuts this century; avoided index tax brackets so in effect these gave real word tax increases
-Billions for Paris accord and riding hard on the climate change express

Very little is undone at this point, 28 May 2024
        There is resistance by notio
nal to enact their ha ha ha ‘promises’ from last year
        Watered down crap at best
eg Kapiti Expressway may be rendered 110 km/hr after a year and millions of dollars of fecking consultation
The new Transmission gully, yakked about for 100 years – literally – is not good enough to be 110km/hr

Done ever accept a beer from Notional. It will be watered down.
I guess their vatican alter wine is watered down as well.
        Makes them ever wetter.

    • What is the relationship between the Treaty of Waitangi and the Principles of the Treaty?
How many years elapsed between the former and the latter?
What problem with the former was the latter seeking to address?
Who was involved in the creation of each?

  3. Do the Herald’s lefty journalists realise how desperate they look in their attempt to score points against the government? Two headlines from today:

    David Fisher
“Pharmac Minister David Seymour met Act MP Todd Stephenson’s former drug company employer – and the MP sat in on the meeting”

    Adam Pearse
“ACC CEO flies business class for Europe work trip amid 390 proposed job cuts”

  4. 12pm NZ time today, Tim Pool will broadcast a taped interview with Donald Trump from last week Libertarian conference. Will be interesting to see him in a long form interview. Link here for anyone’s interest.: https://youtube.com/watch?v=dHrGC_-vCWA&si=6uOSc0f8byKA-_wb

Also interesting was the interview they did with RFK Jr on Friday USA time at the same conference. I don’t really rate his policies, but it was good to hear him explain them without any filters. Something Joe Biden couldn’t do without getting angry. The really juicy bits is where he is asked if the CIA killed his uncle, President JFK, and his connections to Jeffery Epstein.

    https://www.youtube.com/live/zCcoBOfNlcM?si=ejeRSUvzb83djGm0

Approx 1hr 35 in for the Epstein part, with the bit about his uncles assassination about 15 mins later.

  5. An Airbus 380 is on its way across the Atlantic. It flies consistently at 800 km/h at 30,000 feet, when suddenly a Eurofighter with a Tempo Mach 2 appears.
The pilot of the fighter jet slows down, flies alongside the Airbus and greets the pilot of the passenger plane by radio: “Airbus, boring flight isn’t it? Now have a look here!”
He rolls his jet on its back, accelerates, breaks through the sound barrier, rises rapidly to a dizzying height, and then swoops down almost to sea level in a breathtaking dive. He loops back next to the Airbus and asks: “Well, how was that?”
The Airbus pilot answers: “Very impressive, but watch this!”
The jet pilot watches the Airbus, but nothing happens. It continues to fly straight, at the same speed. After 15 minutes, the Airbus pilot radios, “Well, how was that?
Confused, the jet pilot asks, “What did you do?”
The AirBus pilot laughs and says: “I got up, stretched my legs, walked to the back of the aircraft to use the washroom, then got a cup of coffee and a chocolate fudge pastry.”
The moral of the story is: When you’re young, speed and adrenaline seems to be great. But as you get older and wiser, you learn that comfort and peace are more important.

  6. In case you didn’t receive the e mail from Hobsons Choice there are two Government Bills you might like to maks a submission on. It only takes a moment(unless you want to REALLY let them know how you feel in novel form). I did both in less than ten minutes yesterday:

Local Government (Electoral Legislation and Māori Wards and Māori Constituencies) Amendment Bill

  7. Some years ago a flying saucer landed in a park in Auckland. The alien got out & to his horror saw he had landed on one of the earthlings squashing it flat. Being a peaceful friendly alien, he decided to save the creature & put it back together, but having never seen a human he did what he could with the bits he could salvage, then took off to return & try first contact another day.

The next day a man walking his dog found a pair of human buttocks alive & talking through its sphincter. It said “um ah ah I’ve, I haven’t, um, I haven’t used my, um, I’ve answered, um, OIA”.

And that kids, is how Jacinda Ardern was created.

  8. An update on the medical world. My wife received an x-ray appointment at Timaru Hospital within one week of the Doctor putting infor one, thought that was quite good.
While there had a blood test, one every few months. The latest procedure is that they now, reluctantly, have to ask you to spell your first name, second name and address. Things really are getting pathetic

  9. I have no idea of what Sandringham is like but since Wikipedia advises that it’s “a multi-ethnic suburb with a population of over 12,000” & it’s near Mt Albert, for now I’ll presume that it’s a shithole.

Nevertheless in https://www.nzherald.co.nz/business/surprise-at-new-chinese-container-style-kainga-ora-apartments-for-sandringham/PP4MOLZ3LJAZHI444QN5IBHKIY/ we are advised that residents are shocked by new public housing units craned into position. According to observers the places looked more like shipping containers than residences.

Horses for courses. Given that most Kainga Ora tenants have demonstrated themselves to be the “shit in bed & push it out with your feet” type of tenant I consider that the exterior design is fitting. Ecotech Commercial, the company supplying the Chinese made units have a website https://www.ecotechcommercial.com/residential showing plans for the interiors. While not overly generous in size they compare well with motels & car garages which are the current abodes of prospective tenants.

At the end of the tenancy they should be easy & cheap to strip out, fumigate & install new walls & fittings. What is there that the NZ taxpayer should not like about them?

    10

    • Remember when Judith Collins was a cabinet minister for prisons and the shock horror at her suggestion that containers be used for prisoners??? And the uproar over that. Expecting the prisoners to live in shipping containers. At $800,000 if that is what they say they are worth? Well far better than most Kianga Ora residents deserve. They will have them turned into a tip before the month is out.

      • The Wairarapa was blessed by the absence of Kainga Ora for over twenty years. The National-led government sold Wairarapa and Tararua’s 541 state housing units in 1999 to Trust House. The Trust is a community owned company with its roots in its original monopoly of liquor outlets when Masterton went “wet” in 1946.

Generally the management of the original state houses is excellent. They seem to keep on top of maintenance & repairs & certainly don’t put up with the shenanigans of renters as Kainga Ora does. I note that the latter have returned to the fray under the previous Labour Government who squandered millions on 40 new builds for the scum to wreck.

But the Trust’s success seems to indicate that management is the key.

  10. “Te Pāti Māori is urging all Māori to go on strike on Thursday and participate in protest action across the country.”

What percentage of Maori blood do you require to be able to go on the strike?

Seriously, this is not going to do the public image of Maori any favors. I can see it making stereotypes worse. What ever happened to the “one people” that was proclaimed in 1840?

AFAIK there may be an indexing of tax brackets to adjust a bit for inflation

NOT indexing tax brackets is theft by government and leaves them with no incentive to restrain inflation

  12. Idiotic thinking seems to be part of the entry fee for joining the Greens.

There was a proposal by the Wellington City Council to starting charging parking fees in the suburbs ( Newtown, Kilbirnie , Brooklyn etc. ) These were for the remaining parking spaces after they had cut out plenty of them for their beloved cycleways. There was huge push back so now Mayor Tory Whanau has said “OK we will not go ahead but there will be an increase in rates to make up for the lost revenue ” No mention of reducing expenditure on what they had already earmarked the revenue for.

She sounds like the UK Conservative Party —doing and saying everything needed to lose an election.

    • I’ve been searching, somewhat fruitlessly, for info on the number of patient contact positions vs the management freeloaders employed by the organisation with the strange aboriginal name.

Most NZ organisations seem to have about six executives & ten office staff for every field position & when money is tight they lay off the worker first. I suspect that St Johns will not prove to be an exception.

  15. (This is really getting Biblical!!)

“A Covid vaccination centre has been closed after two snakes were spotted in the building.
The snakes, named Cwm and Cou after the centre in Ceredigion they were found in, are believed to be an adder and a grass snake.
The adder is said to have left the building and Hywel Dda health board said it was seeking help from experts to remove the one remaining reptile. The larger one, the adder, has been nicknamed Cou, while the grass snake has been called Cwm…
They said it was hoped the centre would be able to reopen soon.”
No word on when the remaining human-snake hybrids operating the eugenics center are to be dispatched as well.

(Well with things moving at the “speed of science”, who needs an ethics office anyway?)

“I don’t even know what our ethics office does,” Fauci’s errand boy, David Morens, testified to Congress in the context of his various schemes to cover up official government correspondence between himself, Fauci, and EcoHealth villain Peter Daszak, through whom Fauci funneled public money to the Wuhan Institute of Virology that almost certainly resulted in SARS-CoV-2.
Consider that this individual has worked for the NIH for 26 years per his resume… and yet can’t seem to hazard a guess at what the ethics office in his own institutions ethics department does.
    Amazing.

  16. Andrey Kostin, CEO of Russia’s second-largest bank, have emerged—comments that Western mainstream media dare not share with their audiences. Why is that? … Well, the Washington censorship blob wouldn’t allow it.
Russian state-owned news agency TASS cited Kostin’s interview with the Fontanka publication, who warned if it wasn’t for the dollar’s status as the world’s reserve currency, a sovereign debt crisis would’ve already been underway in the US. No matter what, he warned the US economy is on the verge of an economic crisis.
“I am thoroughly convinced that America is inevitably headed for a serious economic crisis. The amount of debt currently held by the US today has reached inconceivable, astronomical levels. And the dollar’s monopoly on the global stage is the only thing enabling the Americans to maintain such a level of debt. If the Chinese or the Arabs took their money out of the US, a complete collapse would ensue for the financial sector and the government,” he said.
    Kostin added:
“If the West fails to revise its policy I think that the move toward the collapse of the colonial system will only accelerate.”
Here’s a question: What ever happened to the economic collapse of Russia via endless Western sanctions?

  17. Global Outrage After Deadly Israeli Strike On Refugee Tent Camp In Rafah
There have been widespread reports of a civilian massacre following a Sunday Israeli air strike on a camp for displaced Palestinians in the besieged southern city of Rafah, which the Gaza Health Ministry says killed 45 people, including women and children.
Israel says it is investigating the strike, amid widespread international condemnation and as horrific videos of the attack aftermath circulate widely, with Israel’s top military prosecutor calling the attack “very grave”.
“The strike was carried out against legitimate targets under international law, through the use of precise munitions and on the basis of precise intelligence that indicated Hamas’s use of the area,” the IDF said. The incident is under review.”
    (Yeah Right)

Israeli & Egyptian Troops Clash At Rafah Border, Leaving One Dead
In a significant escalation, an Egyptian soldier has been shot dead at the Rafah border crossing after a rare exchange of gunfire erupted between the two sides.
The IDF subsequently confirmed: “There was a shooting incident on the Egyptian border; the [incident] is under investigation, [and] dialogue is taking place with the Egyptian side.” (Right)

  18. the treaty once again has magically created more imaginary bro benefits… turns out its a leader of strikes, must be some fine print somewhere that whitey cant seem to read///

“It is a tiriti inspired, tiriti-led demonstration that can be seen as a call to action for Māori who are unhappy with the current coalition government’s actions against Māori,” she said.

    9

    0

      • As people we of European descent tend to think that the Treaty means what it says. It seems that we lack the insight of the Tangata Whenua who regard it as a “living document”.

In 1983 the Waitangi Tribunal said, ‘The spirit of the Treaty transcends the sum total of its component written words and puts literal or narrow interpretations out of place.’

So it means anything or nothing depending on the day or the argument.

  19. Quantitative Brainwashing

For millennia, political leaders have been in the practice of altering, confusing and even obliterating the truth, when possible. And it’s probably safe to say that, for as long as there have been media, there have been political leaders doing their best to control them.
During times of war, political leaders have serially restricted the media from simply telling the truth. During the American civil war, President Lincoln shut down some 300 newspapers and arrested some 14,000 journalists who had the audacity to contradict his statements to the public.
As extreme as that may sound, this practice has been more the rule in history than the exception.
Mark Twain is claimed to have said, “If you don’t read the newspaper, you’re uninformed. If you do read the newspaper, you’re misinformed.” Quite so.

  20. More than 40 Palestinians were killed after Israel bombed a refugee camp in the city of Rafah in Gaza’s south. Israel’s strikes came hours after Hamas launched a barrage of rockets at the country’s commercial capital Tel Aviv. Though the rockets were intercepted, videos showed Tel Aviv residents heading for shelter as air raid sirens began ringing. Countries across the world, including Israel’s allies, have criticised the bombing, forcing Israel to investigate the incident. Meanwhile, there are reports of rebellion inside the Israeli army, with a pro-Netanyahu soldier calling for the defence minister to quit in a new social media video.
