  1. You’d think, if you were planning to roll your leader, that you’d be pretty certain that you had something better to offer. Todd is hiding it well. It’s refreshing to open question time with something other than “Does she stand by all her statements. . .”. But if you’re giving her a topic in your primary, then be prepared to do your homework, because she will. Cindy shot him down in flames yesterday over his employment incentive policy. He should have come prepared with reasons why her Mana in Mahi policy doesn’t cut it. Also, if you ask a question, and the response makes you look like a Wally, FFS don’t ask the same question again.

    • I know Saggy that this is a conspiracy theory, but I think it was due to the fact that National do not want to win the next election. That is the reason they chose someone like him to be the leader. Mind you after another three years of this, anyone will do. But I think that’s why they rolled Simon at this time and chose Todd and Niki. They really could not have done worse could they? Its pathetic how they both have shown their true colours inept couple of lefties.
I feel for ACT as they are a great alternative, David is always very well prepared and stands up for most of what I agree with, and to think ACT have this ship of fools (supposedly National) its pretty demoralising for them.

      • Lizziep, I agree with you. I have now resolved myself to three more years of Adern. I was discussing the imminent election just last night. My stance is that it is a done deal, Muller has no chance. I have given him a week, watched him in QT. Hopeless, far worse than Simon. I have decided to not watch debates, or follow the election. Won’t even watch the results come in. I know what the next morning’s news will be, Labour – a landslide. I look at how much they have changed this country in just under three years, I find the changes staggering. Three years further on? We will have developed our own style of Venezuala. We will never be able to turn this around. My young adult children will never be able to enjoy the NZ I had all my life, I am happy enough they have had a small number of years with it, they will remember it.

Did they think they were in with a chance of him winnind?

Stevie Wonder was watching this with interest and came to the same conclusion.
His mates at the blind convention could all see it as well !!

However instead of a 20% pay cut, how about a 100% pay cut for the
        not
        Leader of the Opposition
        but
        Lack of Opposition

Or even a 130% pay cut and pay us..like negative interest rates, we pay the bank to hold our savings !
I meant he is accruing pension, free flights, airpoints, contacts etc

There have been 154 days this year and less tham 25 sitting days.
Parliament has been a dead loss.

In the 1800s with travel much slower they got together for 6 weeks and debated and passed legislation and went home.
In the early stages – 1860s – they were not even paid.

This lot, 119 of them – are a disgrace

Democrscy went ona long vacation in 2017.

Prepare yourselves for a labour landslide as terrifying as that may be because those 3 couldn’t save themselves let alone the country.

      • Yes, Nikki is a hard worker, no doubt. And to her credit, beat Ardern in Auckland Central twice. But she’s not a scrapper and doesn’t have the mongrel. Paula had this in spades.

        • Auckland Central is my Electorate.
I must say was impressed by Kaye during her campaigning. She visited us at work and knocked on the door at my house.
She was courteous and polite and willing to discuss/debate the issues.
Jacinda Ardern was invisible- Never saw or heard from her once.
I asked someone in the know why Ardern didn’t seem to be campaigning as hard? And was told “Oh she’s a bit lazy and will probably be sitting in a cafe on Jervois Road”…

    • Just as Arden should not be commenting on internal issues in Australia – yet she does –
[forget about Kelvin and his comments; he is simply the village idiot from up North that got on the wrong bus]
Muller should not make comments one way or the other on another country’s internal politics.
      This is tantamount to interference.
They are , in addition, a trading partner and ally.
      What a dick.

I have not seen any TV for weeks – it was all repetitious swooning -so I have not seen him burble yet.
I did see my mates new Grandson in Palmy last week. The little fella burbled as bit. I think he could make the Labour front bench in a September reshuffle !!

  3. What a coincidence, this is why the rioting happened

You may think that the well-planned, carefully coordinated “spontaneous” rioting in every major city across the US is a sign of the deep-seated upwelling of anger about Trump’s presidency.

On the other hand, if we look at other things that are happening in the US at the moment (but strangely are not being reported on by the MSM – funny that) you might begin to wonder if these are desperate acts in an attempt to divert public attention from proof of DNC corruption and criminal behaviour:
    – this week Susan Rice (Obama’s National Security Advisor and one of the first to illegally unmask General Flynn) well she threw Obama under the bus and in a deposition attested that she only told to do it “because she was told to by the White House”. Only one person gives orders to the NSA and that is the President – oops
    – Hilary Clinton has been ordered to testify (I think about now) in court about her email server and the flagrant way she flouted all kinds of national security protocols (including having an automatic hidden forwarding rule to a CCP gmail account) something so huge as that – isn’t it amazing there isn’t any news coverage about it

But (phew) fortunately for the Deep State – all these (seriously, really, truly) spontaneous (honestly they’re so spontaneous) riots kick off and the media have a terrific excuse to not report on systematic, treasonous, seditious behaviour by the lunatic left in the US.

The bigger the distraction, the bigger the criminal behaviour!

The short version is Obama did stuff that makes Nixon seem like a boy scout, and Hillary is not going to get away with having an unsecure server in her basement. He is crooked. She is crooked. But look over there – riots!

  4. As I’ve said all along, Dr Silly Name is buffoon!

So Dr Silly Name has confirmed that despite:
    – Mixing with people supposed to be in 14 day quarantine (the Antifa Avatar activists)
    – 1000s of people totally disregarding social distancing rules for hours
None of the protestors need to self-quarantine for 14 days.

The man is a total cockwomble! He is an expert in NON-communicable diseases. That is like getting a guy who trained in car upholstery to change your head gasket.

So a rational mind can only reach one of two conclusions:
    a) This has been a Planned-emic – designed to destroy capitalism and set the foundations for totalitarian socialism
    or
    b) Dr Silly Name knows absolutely fuck all and he has just guaranteed a second wave of Covid infections to achieve ………….(see a) above)
We should now take our freedoms back. No giving names at restaurants – just say you are protesting George Floyd’s death and you are therefore immune to Covid19 – the D-G of Health says so. No social distancing. No shops closed. NO FUCKING POSTAL VOTING.

As I said all along, Dr Silly Name is an alumni of the W.H.O. – which in recent days we now know is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Chinese Communist Party. How can he be trusted? He behaves like a political pawn.

The real concern for me is that it seems New Zealand is full of idiots who aren’t as mad about this as I am. Apart from YSBers – I think I’m ashamed of my fellow countrymen. They’re a bunch of turkeys who seem intent on voting for an early Xmas.

Trust the fucking experts? I don’t see any fucking experts! Faith in the institutions of our democracy = a big, fat zero at the moment.

        • D P , I’m continually pilloried by some friends and family every time I bring up the fact that our country’s population is more than 50% low IQ ,FFS all you have to do is go for a drive in any auckland street and witness the atrocious driving standards.
Even more telling is looking at the present government, most NZrs are in love with the fast talking empty sock Jacinda Ardern , ask them about any other minister or mp and they say “I don’t know” ,F——G morons.

          10

          0

          • The fact that friends and family dispute the fact that 50% of the population are below average intelligence suggests that maybe it’s time to change at least your friends. I mean, it’s a statistical inevitability that half of any statistical population will be below average on any criteria.

It’s like the absolute insanity of the minimum wage, crying crocodile tears because so many people have income levels below the average wage.

As I said before, people that can make you believe absurdity can make you perform atrocities.

We are living in the end of the age of reason, we have ringside seats. We are actually watching the destruction of the pinnacle of Western civilisation. It’s like watching the fall of ancient Rome, or living in the vast Persian civilisation that Alexander tore to pieces. Every 500 years or so humanity returns to squalor – by choice.

The Renaissance was the start of the rise out of squalor, cultural Marxism triggered the fall. It’s fascinating to watch it unfold.

    • Well said DP and the prior comment is correct.
      The riots are a distraction.

BOOM. Blown away from 4 feet away. The Somalian Dirty Harry.
      There were no riots.

Ashen Bloomers is a dead loss and lying almost on a daily basis.
Was he like this before he spent so much time with Ardoom?
BIG LIES in the last 2 months
      – isolation/self isolation for incoming travellers
      – testing of travellers
-there is enough medicine but but but we are restricting supply to one month

-there is enough Flu vaccine for 2020

  5. ‘It’s a shambles’ – Todd Muller says Jacinda Ardern needs to move NZ to Alert Level 1 immediately
    https://www.tvnz.co.nz/one-news/new-zealand/its-shambles-todd-muller-says-jacinda-ardern-needs-move-nz-alert-level-1-immediately?auto=6161194607001

While Ms Ardern is holding fire, Deputy Prime Minister Winston Peters says the country should have been moved to Level 1 last week.

The dissonance within the Government is appalling, Mr Muller says.

“It’s quite bizarre that you’ve got a Deputy Prime Minister who looks at that Cabinet paper and says we should be at Level 1 last week and a Prime Minister who looks at the same paper and says maybe we move to Level 1 next week,” he says.

“It’s completely unacceptable to be that divergent and in my view we should be at Level 1 now.”

  6. For first time, KiwiSaver statements will now show your predicted balance at retirement

Ever wondered what could your retirement at 65 look like off the back of your KiwiSaver?
    https://www.tvnz.co.nz/one-news/new-zealand/first-time-kiwisaver-statements-now-show-your-predicted-balance-retirement?auto=6161037556001

Financial Markets Authority investor capability manager Gillian Boyes said most people found it really hard to imagine what their KiwiSaver contributions will add up to.

She said Kiwis have been able to see their predicted balances for a long time through various tools, but people didn’t use them.

“So, we thought if we put it straight on the statement, they can see their future right in front of them.

“Then, they can make some really good decisions whether that’s going to be enough,” Ms Boyes said.

It was dumbass Shipley who reduced it to 120k.
            A completely stupid number. Agreed.

Has she paid her $6 million fine for this yet ?
Forget Peters’ 150k. Shipley owes this as a poor director of a massively failed company.

  7. Boom, another large business in trouble. In May this was 4 closing, now it is 7. Bye, bye to our local Bunnings.

Bunnings Warehouse confirms closure of seven stores
    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/new-zealand/2020/06/bunnings-warehouse-confirms-closure-of-seven-stores.html

Bunnings Warehouse has confirmed the closure of seven stores by the end of June, impacting 145 staff.

The closures, first proposed on May 12, apply to the Ashburton Warehouse, four smaller format stores in Cambridge, Rangiora, Te Awamutu and Putaruru, and two trade centres in Hastings and Hornby.

The decision to close the seven stores was largely due to the lack of business throughout the COVID-19 lockdown period, but location, lease arrangements and individual store performances all were mitigating factors.

  8. Kelvin Davis defends work he’s doing to help tourism sector that’s ‘on its knees’
    https://www.tvnz.co.nz/one-news/new-zealand/kelvin-davis-defends-work-hes-doing-help-tourism-sector-thats-its-knees?auto=6161201601001

Mr Davis has been called out as not being visible to those affected, however, he told TVNZ 1’s Breakfast today he’d held virtual meetings amid the lockdown and, as travel restrictions ease, he plans to do more.

“They well know that over the course of lockdown I’ve been holding many meetings, and in fact there were 15 online discussions with around about 5000 people from the tourism industry and I’ve been answering their questions directly, talking about what we’re doing as a government to support tourism businesses, so there has been a lot of communication and, you know, that will continue.”

One of those criticising the minister was Rotorua MDA Experiences’ Tukurua Mutu, who earlier on Breakfast pleaded to Mr Davis: “Communicate with us”.

“I’m not gonna question what Kelvin Davis does in the background, from what I understand he’s a really hard worker, but we’re not seeing that communication from him and the feeling in the tourism industry is one that doesn’t have confidence,” he said.

    11

    • This ridiculous business about saving Tourism by all NZers holidaying in NZ is just nonsensical.

It’s plain absurd. For a small proportion of potential tourists, sure they’ll convert to doing something in NZ – but for the vast majority it’s just silly. What about the hordes of young Kiwis that do their pilgrimage to Kiwi pubs in London – are they going to do their OE in Taihape instead? Of course not.

What about that cruise around the Med that folks have been saving years for? Are they going to go for a trip on the TSS Earnslaw and call it the same – of course not. How about the trip of a lifetime to Macchu Picchu – going to sub-in a month in the Wairarapa going up the Gentle Annie track – give me a break.

It’s just a typical fascist cover story. It doesn’t have to be reasonable or even feasible. It just has to be something that allows a bunch of economic terrorists to have something (anything at all) to announce.

There is much wisdom from the French Revolution that seems to apply to these terrible times, Voltaire said

“Those that can make you believe absurdities, can make you commit atrocities”

The widespread and long-lasting destruction of our economy is going to cost more lives, create more hardship, destroy more families than Covid ever was going to – it is an atrocity. And we believed the absurdity of it all.

    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/new-zealand/2020/06/three-cops-charged-with-manslaughter-over-death-of-man-at-hawera-police-station.html

The man’s death occurred following a call-out to a family harm incident at 11:30pm on May 31, 2019.

Police at the time said the man was intoxicated, arrested for assault and taken to the cells. He was then found “unresponsive” during a routine check in the early hours of June 1.

Despite efforts to revive him by police staff and again by paramedics when they arrived, he couldn’t be saved.

Let me guess. The arrested party (a Polynesian male) had a BMI of 30+ and pre-existing heart conditions. The arresting officers were not aware of any medical conditions (other than being drunk and obese).

The police put him in the cells to sober up, but did not keep watch on him.
The arrested party either self-harmed or had a medical emergency, but failed or was unable to let the police know. Or maybe the police were not monitoring the man.

Alternatively, the guy refused to cooperate and died while being restrained.

      Who knows?

    • I really hope that all those BLM looters all get Covid. I can understand peaceful, lawful, protest. But riotous looting is just deserving of hot lead, and lots of it. The cops also need to pull their heads in, I have no issue in dealing to looters, but don’t make dicks of your selves by injuring peaceful protestors. Those assaulting others and destroying property, go for it, shoot the fuckers dead.

  14. Anyone else wondering if the move to Level 1 is because both Ardern and Bloomfield have been sprung breaking their own bullshit ‘laws’ at restaurants over the weekend? (Not to mention Jacinda’s leftie mates wanting to have a ‘Rent a Mob’ protest…)
Two bloody months of lecturing from these two and it turns out they have both been taking the piss all along!
This whole thing has been a fucking fraud.

  16. Revealed: Auckland shooting victim was Clifford Umuhuri from the Mongrel Mob chapter in Taneatua
    https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=12336878

Police are trawling through hours and hours of security camera footage to piece together the circumstances which led to a fatal shooting in Auckland on Monday. Detectives are looking for a dark-coloured Mazda vehicle involved in an “altercation” with people in another car. Shots were fired and a man – whom the Herald can reveal was a Bay of Plenty gang member – was fatally wounded.

The Herald can reveal the victim is Clifford Umuhuri, in his late 40s, who was a member of the Mongrel Mob chapter in Taneatua known as “Big Red”, in the eastern Bay of Plenty.

    • What was Clifford Umuhuri doing in St. Johns, Meadowbank? Nothing ever happens in this sleepy little backwater.

      • The gun fired the shot but it was colonialism that killed him. Poor “Big Red” he was only in town to attend a bible collection conference. As you can see I’m slowly adapting to my new woke persona and auditioning for a high place on the Greens list.

    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/2020/06/government-unveils-130-million-boost-to-research-and-innovation.html

The overall package includes funding for the government’s loan scheme designed to encourage businesses to invest in innovation; and $33m for Māori research and development opportunities.

About $120m will be spent on the Crown Research Institutes over 4 years, while $10m has been announced to cover the revenue losses at Callaghan Innovation.

    • “$33 million for Maori research and development opportunities” What are they going to research and develop? How many millions of dollars have Maori already been allocated? This government are the worst ever shambles in NZ history. Fuck the lot of them. Lying, corrupt wankers.

          • One thing that Maori are not short of is low value land regenerating into scrub, mostly because the multiple owners couldn’t get together & agree that the sun will rise tomorrow never-mind use it. Northland Maori were looking at a golden goose when manuka honey took off but their luck wasn’t in.

……” In December 2017, the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) created an official definition of mānuka honey based on the levels of four marker chemicals, plus the presence of manuka pollen DNA.

One of those markers, 2-Methoxyacetophenone (or 2-MAP), must be present at 5mg/kg or more in monofloral manuka honey.”……

            https://www.nzherald.co.nz/the-country/news/article.cfm?c_id=16&objectid=12278630

This definition cuts out almost half of Northland’s mānuka honey crop. Maori have to change the definition or plant better manuka. Guess where the money goes.

  20. Talk about a load of tosh. On Magic Radio they reckon the police have spoken to the school about their teacher wearing a MAGA hat at the protest! What the…!?

Auckland teacher apologises for wearing ‘Make America Great Again’ hat to Black Lives Matter protest

“That hat is not a sign of racism. I wasn’t wearing it to incite racism. In fact, I was wearing it to represent a diverse range of ideas.”

He doesn’t explain what those ideas are, but said his hat was stolen and lit on fire, which was “kinda funny”.

Aloiai has now written an apology on Facebook where he said wearing the hat gave unintended messages.

      • Almost turned Peter Williams off this morning. For someone who believes he is up with the politics he certainly doesn’t understand Trump has been playing the media and the left for years. He kept his intentions and his intelligence out of sight until he was in a position to tie them in knots and knock their feet out from under them with their own corrupt behaviour. They still haven’t caught on that PRESIDENT Trump has the left by the goolies and will win in November. All this rioting, etc is just the left in their death throws and they don’t even realise yet! They will ramp up their hatred for him between now and November…Go Trump. MAGA!

  24. Leaked Government paper says New Zealand could be at COVID-19 alert level 1 already
    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/2020/06/leaked-government-paper-says-new-zealand-could-be-at-covid-19-alert-level-1-already.html

The National Party has been leaked a recent Cabinet Committee paper that says New Zealand could be at alert level 1 already.

It outlines the criteria for a move saying we need to have eliminated chains of transmission and had no new cases of community transmission for 28 days, and if that’s been achieved there’s no need for restrictions.

“The permissive nature of the alert level 1 controls reflect it is predicated upon having eliminated chains of transmission and there have been no new cases from community transmission for at least 28 days,” it says.

It’s now been longer than 28 days – the last community transmission case was 33 days ago.

      • Those other Paradise ducks (male & female) she took off with were NASTY!!.
They turned up last week and started honking around on the front lawn….Duckduck hid behind the back of the house…when I went outside Duckduck stayed very close to me…so I went downstairs to see if Duckduck would come down to the other two….. she flew down to me but wouldn’t go over to the Parrys…..and just as they started waddling over towards me, hubby called out that he’d made me a cup of coffee…..
so I went inside and sat down with my coffee……
nec minute…Duckduck has rushed into the kitchen. ….and she would not go out….. Finally I got her into the mud-room/porch and asked hubby to hold the door open so we could bundle her outside.. when I noticed the 2 parries had flown up to the back fence and were perched there like birds of prey staring into the mud-room.

        So we scared them away.
A few hours later I was pottering around in the garden and Duckduck came down to supervise my efforts….then whoosh, the 2 parries flew in… the female came charging over to Duckduck and attacked her…

Well, that was them xed off our Xmas-list…. I yelled at them, they took off and haven’t been back.

So unless a handsome bachelor boy flies in, It looks like we’ve got Duck-duck for keeps.

  28. David Seymour accuses Labour MP Deborah Russell of ‘character assassination’ in debate over COVID-19 response
    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/2020/06/david-seymour-accuses-labour-mp-deborah-russell-of-character-assassination-in-debate-over-covid-19-response.html

Dr Morris is one of six academics that formed the group COVID Plan B, which criticised the strict lockdown in New Zealand. During the committee he questioned the need for the new law and called for a more “proportionate response”.

Dr Russell then interrogated Dr Morris’ judgement, referring back to when COVID Plan B said New Zealand’s lockdown was too strict compared to Australia’s.

She asked Dr Morris if he would hold that view knowing Australia “still has cases bubbling away” to this day while New Zealand has had more than a week of no new cases.

ACT leader David Seymour then accused Dr Russell of “character assassination” against the submitter, and suggested she get back on topic.

“Grant is a legal expert presenting on a specific piece of legislation. I think it’s highly inappropriate for you as chair to go on a character assassination of an organisation on separate topics that are in the past.”
