  1. I read that China has an outbreak of Bubonic plague in the Mongolia / Russian border area through eating Marmot Meat. There is also a new Swine Flu that transmits to Humans and Hebie province in Beijing has an out break of Covid 19.I wonder just what is it in China that produces these disease outbreaks.

    • Oh nooooo we could be in for another lockdown before the election!!!!!!!! I wonder which one the PTPM thinnest of the thin person will choose as the worst one to cause the country to lock down again, maybe the Bubonic plague it sounds really scary. Perhaps once she gets us in the state she wants, and is PM for life we will all be dead or as thin and painful looking as she is???

    • freethinker, Its most likely the fact that the Chinese will eat anything that swims, slimes, crawls, walks,or flies on the face of the earth and a lot of it raw.
A Great delicacy is newly born rat young still wriggling and soaked in soy sauce, dont think that its the poor eating this type of food, that particular dish is highly sought after and quite expensive as they are especially bred rats ,sure beats a trip to the KFC.

  2. Uh oh, let’s hope the ground doesn’t “keep moving”!

    Shallow earthquake rattles South Island
    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/new-zealand/2020/07/earthquake-rattles-christchurch.html

More than 5000 people reported feeling the 7km deep earthquake, with 110 describing it as “strong shaking”.

More than 1500 said the shake was “moderate”, seven described it as “severe”, and only three said it was “extreme”, according to Geonet.

Nearly 3000 people said it was “light” and 1200 said it was “weak”.

  3. Just watching AM and the talk of a bubble with the Cook Islands, is it not that Jacinda wants money to stay in NZ but that we are being lied to about community transmission of Covid?

  4. Haami Hanara and 17-year-old Sean Ratu are still at large. Turns out the two teenagers made their escape through a “secure window” already previously used to escape through a couple of years ago. How incompetent does the corrections department have to be to not secure a weakness in their security system? Are they not allowed to put bars across the window to block the criminals view?

  5. A Texan walks into a pub in Anglesey, sidles over to the bar and loudly announces,
“I heard you Brits could drink, well I’m a Texan, and I reckon I could drink any of you under the table. Bartender, serve me 15 pints and 15 more for anyone brave enough. If any of you Limies can finish all 15 before me I’ll give you $100”
So Gethin, a little old farmer at the end of the bar says,
“Alright Tex, I’ll take that challenge, but just excuse me for an hour, before we start”
So Gethin walks out, and an hour later comes back. The two embark on the bet, and Gethin easily finishes all 15 before Tex gets though his first 6.
“Well, Gethin I’ve got to hand it to you, you earned that 100 bucks. I’m curious though, where did you go for that hour?”
Gethin replies, “Diolch yn fawr (thank you) for honouring the bet Tex, but to be honest, I cheated, I went to the pub two doors down first just to make sure I could finish 15 pints before taking you on”

  6. I really enjoyed Judith Collins’ book launch in Mt Eden last night. It was good to catch up with Don Brash as well as a number of MPs who were there. She put on plenty of wine and finger food. Another good thing about Judith is she is not stingy. There were plenty of books sold there and they are into the second reprint.

  7. Wage subsidy scheme ending will make or break many small businesses – economist
    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/money/2020/07/wage-subsidy-scheme-ending-will-make-or-break-many-small-businesses-economist.html

Cameron Bagrie told the AM Show on Tuesday that while it would be tough for some, the Government can’t keep propping businesses up forever.

“They have been pretty critically reliant on the Government’s cheque book and the Government doesn’t have a bottomless pit of money, so at some stage small businesses are going to have to stand on their own two feet.”

While the Government has a $400 million tourism support package, Bagrie said unfortunately big businesses have mostly used that.

“We have seen the big end of town take chunks out of that as opposed to small businesses who actually need that.”

  9. It seems that Jamie Lee Ross thinks anti vaxxers could help save his seat in Parliament as he gets s Petition up and running in his electorate. I would have thought wit everything Labours Health Minister did wrong in the measle epidemic which resulted in dozens of children dying in Samoa from measles that more families would put the safety firstand have them vaccinated.
    https://www.newsroom.co.nz/8things/jami-lee-ross-pandering-to-anti-vaxxers
I really can’t understand how a parent could play Russian Roulette with there children’s lives when vaccines are available to cut down risks and more how could a MP advocate the anti vaxxers message in this time and age.

  10. I thought I must have been thinking the wrong way about this virus. I cannot understand why they are getting so wound up about a few positive tests –for 95% it means they will not feel anything or if they do it will minor symptoms for a few days. When did the last person die ? As long as they have the rest home procedures under control, I do not think it is a big deal any more.

So I was please to see Alan Jones agreeing with me last night. Like NZ , Australia has not had any more deaths for some time. He thinks jusrt looking at positive test results numbers is a waste of time.

Even the Poms are now allowed to go to some Mediterranean countries for a holiday.

The US is pure politics –the Democrats want this to go on for as long as they can so they can —increase the testing, report all the positive tests and ignore the fact that the death rate is dropping dramatically.

I would love to see a NZ journalist ask how many people have died in NZ over the past 3 months from pneumonia , bronchitis and other similar breathing related issues, just so we could put this economy wrecking exercise into perspective.

  11. More from yesterday. https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=12345864
“Covid 19 coronavirus: Mum left angry, frustrated after 3 teen children booted off overloaded flight”

The article mentions that the airline wasn’t currently accepting unaccompanied minors for international travel due to global restrictions in place and self-isolation requirements in other countries. “The customers in question were booked as adults which meant their ages were not flagged in the booking.” So, the children were mis-booked as “adults”. Why would anyone do that, since “adult” fares are more expensive? It’s a mystery.

A nurse checked up on the minors. The nurse said she would help find someone to talk to. Several police officers then arrived which put her kids on edge. (Why would police make the kids nervous?)

Read the article if you are able to, and it start to explain the behavior of the “hysterical” passengers.

      • Years ago, when Japanese had large families, there were boys’ names that specifically indicated their order of birth.
Ichiro (or Taro) (the first born son)
        Jiro (the second born)
        Saburo (the third born)
        Shiro (the 4th boy)
        Goro (the 5th)
        Rokuro (the 6th)
There are more names in this sequence, but 6 is enought!

Today, these are still names in use in Japan, but the strict rules of birth order may be ignored by modern-minded parents who happen to like the name or want to name their son after a great-grandfather (who might have been the 5th son of a big family back in the 1920s).

        6

      • They probably don’t think of themselves as “New Zealanders” in the way that many people would. They might think of themselves as:
        – Australians (they lived there for most of their lives, perhaps…)
        – “Maori” 100% (despite an English surname)
        – ___________ iwi (insert name of iwi on mother’s side, since Dad’s is unknown)
        – People of the WINZ (not quite people of the earth, but they’ll grab one of the other elements)
        – The oppressed and to whom much is owed for what happend on their mother’s side of the family generations ago

        5

      • I understand that the policewoman was also breastfeeding a baby (at home, obviously). In Japan it would be expected for a policewoman to resign once she starts a family. Women are not men. The Australian policeforce does not seem to understand this.

  13. Future Prime Minister?

Just received this by e mail:

Written by a 21 year old female…..Should make her the PM

“The problems we face today are there because the people who work for a living are outnumbered by those who vote for a living”
This was written by a 21 yr old female who gets it. It’s her future she’s worried about and this is how she feels about the social welfare system that she’s being forced to live in! These solutions are just common sense in her opinion.

    Put me in charge . . ..

Put me in charge of WINZ payments. I’d get rid of cash payments and provide vouchers for 50kg bags of rice and beans, blocks of cheese, basic sanitary items and all the powdered milk you can use.
If you want steak, burgers, takeaway and junk food, then get a job.

Put me in charge of HEALTH. The first thing I’d do is to get women to have birth control implants.
Then, we’ll test recipients for drugs, alcohol, and nicotine. If you want to reproduce, use drugs, drink alcohol or smoke, then get a job.

Put me in charge of Government Housing or more commonly Government Paid Motel Accommodation. Ever live in military barracks?
You will maintain our property in a clean and good state of repair.
Your “home” will be subject to inspections anytime and possessions will be inventoried.
If you want a plasma TV or Xbox 360, then get a job and your own place.

Put me in charge of Compulsory Job Search. You will either search for employment each week no matter what the job or you will report for community work.
This may be clearing the roadways and open spaces of rubbish, painting and repairing public housing, whatever we find for you.
We will sell your 22 inch rims and low profile tires and your dooff dooff stereo and speakers and put that money toward the “common good..”

Before you write that I’ve violated someone’s rights, realise that all of the above is voluntary.
If you want our hard earned cash and housing assistance, accept our rules..
Before you say that this would be “demeaning” and ruin someones “self esteem,” consider that it wasn’t that long ago that taking someone else’s money for doing absolutely nothing was demeaning and lowered self esteem.

If we are expected to pay for other people’s mistakes we should at least attempt to make them learn from their bad choices. The current system rewards those for continuing to make bad choices.

AND While you are on WINZ income you no longer have the right to VOTE!
For you to vote would be a conflict of interest….. If you want to vote, then get a job.

      • Ha! The e-mail in question was probably written by someone not female, not 21, but quite grumpy (and for good reason).

There is much the goverment could do to dissuade the feckless from using the social safety net as a hammock.

        – Force these people to stay at home 24/7 unless working or buying food at the supermarket or seeing a doctor.
-Force them to install a tracking app on their smartphones.
        – Compel them not to invite their mates over and to forbid them from participating in social gatherings of even friends and family members (funerals, weddings).

But then, I am only dreaming. No modern State in this day and age would dare to impose such draconian controls over its people, for whatever reason. There would be riots in the streets, police cars overturned, government offices burned to the ground.

    • Sadly we will never find that 21 year old girl, as the email has been circulating the world for a few years since 2013.
Appreciate that it has been adapted to NZ. 🙂 as it is still the truth.

So we must not lose our will, to say “NO” to the academia, media, political narrative.
Combat it with “truth” from information, knowledge that is close to the problem.
Then act, say NO to their narrative, and spread the irrefutable truth. 🙂

    • Written 2015, but on the same theme.
While in NZ we argue about giving prisoners the vote,
      The real issue is;-

AND While you are on benefit income you no longer have the right to VOTE!
For you to vote would be a conflict of interest… If you want to vote, then get a job. ….
      .
….The true revolution is when we the people wake up to the fact that we are being taken for a ride by a small handful of “VIP’s”.
How can we be so blind to the obvious…

    • I am not in favor of using what appear to be good ideas as weapons. It’s sneaky and dishonest.

These “human rights.” Is this a Continental concept of prescriptive law? The traditional English system of case law has more common sense. In Japan (where there are no juries), the rules are extremely flexible and decisions are made on a case-by-case basis (with a good measure of common sense thrown in).

It seems that “human rights” can be weaponized in an attempt to force nations to change their demographies and to modify their native cultures.

      5

      0

        • Using “human rights” to crowbar open a sovereign nation’s culture and force the introduction of incompatible cultures would seem to be the modus operandi of the globalist.
Another give-away of this mindset is the hatred of one’s own nation. (Trump alluded to this in his Mt. Rushmore speech of July 4.)

Someone who tells you to hate your family and to hate your nation may not have your best interests at heart.

  15. Winston Peter’s Deputy Prime Minister of the Government and obviously part of the team that wants NZer’s to spend up to help NZ and its economy survive COVID-19. The question why has he got the exit heavies and bad boys Arron Banks and Andy Wigmore from Britain coming down under to help him be the kingmaker at the next Election.
    https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=12346138

    • Lol, did Winston tell his UK ring-ins that 99.9% of NZ’ers know Peters is a manipulative narcissist and compulsive liar who would sell his grandmother for a vote? 😂

“I’m going to be on the ground in New Zealand causing trouble – mischief, mayhem and guerrilla warfare in the New Zealand election,” Wigmore told the Telegraph.

Speaking to the Telegraph, Banks – who bankrolled the pro-Brexit group Leave.EU – said his team’s goal was to boost New Zealand First’s share of the vote to as high as 13 per cent.

That would be a more than 11 percentage point jump on current polling.

However, she’s not going down without a fight. She says the berm is sustainable and environmentally friendly.

“I would’ve thought, if they had a problem with my berm, they would send someone out here to speak to me. They must have staff if they’ve got enough staff to keep hassling me.”

  17. Ardern is always banging on about how you cannot leave someone stateless; they must be allowed to return to their country of citizenship. I wonder how well they’ve researched their decision to deny NZ’ers that right, until such a time as the Govt deems appropriate.

The video was taken on the Wairoa/Gisborne line in 2012 shortly before slips on the unstable cliffs where the Whareata Ranges are eroded by the Pacific Ocean. (from about 11.00 min). The line is still in place & I’m rather surprised that the Greens didn’t demand its reinstatement as a price of forming the CoL.

Towards the end it shows the tracks crossing the Gisborne airport, surely one of the few places this has occurred.

Looking back it’s amazing that the line was ever completed in 1942. The golden years of NZ rail, such as they were, were coming to an end.

  22. So who is lying? Why would the campaigners say they are heading for NZ if Peters knows nothing about them saying they are coming. Pull the other one Peters! 🤥🤥🤥

    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/2020/07/winston-peters-denies-claims-new-zealand-first-hired-pro-brexit-campaigners-arron-banks-and-andy-wigmore.html

Winston Peters has denied New Zealand First hired pro-Brexit campaigners Arron Banks and Andy Wigmore who plan to bring “mischief, mayhem and guerrilla warfare” to the New Zealand election.

Banks, co-founder of the Leave.EU campaign which advocated for the UK to leave the European Union, told The Telegraph a team had been dispatched to Auckland to help bring New Zealand First’s vote share to as high as 12 percent.

“We have deployed our top social media team and data experts to do all the creative work, Andy and I are giving Winston strategic advice,” he said. “Since 2016 we have known Winston, he is a huge supporter of the Commonwealth and watched first-hand the referendum campaign.”

But in a statement released on Tuesday, Peters “scoffed” at suggestions a team of six political operatives had been dispatched to Auckland, because “it is impossible to see how they would even gain entry into the country”.

  23. Why is Michelle Boag even a member of National with the shit that she has stirred over the years as a political commentator . There is only one reason she did it and picked the weaklink in the National Party Hamish Walker to give it to as she would have known this would do irreversible damage and probably give Labour another two terms.

The altar boy is looking on the punishment sheet, but theres no blowjob! So he opens the door and whispers to the other altar boy, “hey Anthony, what does the priest usually give for a blowjob??”

    • Depends on your timing
In Early Feb that had some validity.

From Early April 2020 Ardoom had complete control of – the media, the borders; the message
      Notional were ghosted.
This has been a massive political power play of musical chairs and the one in the seat gets the say
Except of course for the MSM and their obligatory childish Anti Trump lies

I suspect ACT were going to get about 4 seats based on activity since last March 2019.
Notional crab walked (sideways) or pissed off voters with their support of UN; Gun theft; tree hugging and various other limp wristed shit
They did not lose as much support as they should have
The voter bleed will have been to Labour as non-discerning dickheads and dickheadesses take on board Ardoom’s spiel.
I was at a dinner on Friday that demonstrated that.
I was thinking of taking up smoking to escape outside for a few minutes.
      Spew.

There must be (bad) forces at work in Notional to allow this nonsense to happen
They have a useless Party President but then I cannot think of any good ones going back to Sue Wood 40 years ago
He is actually married to MP Scott Simpsons ex Desley. Yeegads.

I think ACT is largely not dependant on Nats apart from the cornerstone Epsom seat .
Their candidate line up is impressive – poss best since 1996.
Good to see they put Beth Houlbrook down the list a bit. Good move.
      It is what it is.
      and it is ugly.

    3

    • I don’t think the National Party rank and file should let this go either.
Clear message to party hierarchy: We won’t tolerate this sort of monkey business where innocent New Zealanders are treated as collateral damage in dirty political games.
That may be Michelle Boag’s DNA, but she and anyone dumb enough to be aligned to her needs to be flushed out and away.
How long is a day in politics?
Yesterday I was on Hamish Walker’s side on his trumped up charges of racism, today he’s defective goods.
The common link is that neither situation has been handled satisfactorily by the National Party.
And to think David Cunliffe was mocked as a clusterf*. Why are Muller and Kaye holding his beer?

  29. Seems there is a very pro National party supporter down ticking those that are not. Fair enough, that’s your business.
However, I would like to say, notwithstanding Caps belief that a vote for the devil would be better than the shambles of a COL we have at present, look at the big picture. Things have changed a lot.

It matters not one turd in a 7 metre long fatberg who you vote for. Oh no no, those times are well behind us.

You see, the real powers that be currently have complete control of the ‘masses’, and of those that lord over us in our little test case nation.
Everyone needs to face facts. You can think that voting for national or act or the cat may bring about some meaningful change, but it won’t matter that one shit.
You, me, and all the bleeding hearts too, we are all in the crosshairs.
You may have used to have been able to, but you CANNOT change the world with a biro in a ballot box any longer. Those days are in your rear view mirror.

Just lets keep moving – towards that cliff over there, follow me sheeple!

Until we open the eyes of the masses and bring about the awakening, we are screwed.

Vote national, vote act, vote for AP’s cat. It doesn’t matter one shit.

All the talk about wasted votes. Well, which one isn’t?

Maybe one day we will do a bit more than vote to bring about change. Seems a bit far stretched to consider the possibility of the need to? Think again. Democracy as we know it has 20 years max. They want it done and dusted by 2030.

    When will we rise.

    • Well said Floyd. I’d still vote for my cat, but you know that is a pisstake. You and I did ruminate
about this a couple of days ago. This country was sold out a long time ago, yet there are still
people either through ignorance or fear who believe that whoever they vote for will make a .difference .
Sheeple indeed. Sadly, time has run out for serious change. Democracy is dead. What is being peddled to the masses is an illusion of hope. Game over.

Seems to be hitting the senior students of a high-school.

Security Guards getting new “rides” and escorting to shopping centres and then onto Eid Celebratory family dinners for family clusters.

Timing fits in for BLM protest marches well attended by liberals, unionists, LGBTQIA and those voteres will still vote the same. and will take whatever money goes there way for doing nothing.
If only those protesters had worked protested at home and destroyed their own property.
