    • Your comment is as bad as any leftist reporter.
Did you not read what the guy said?

“Asked whether there was an element of “playing god” to all this, Dr Veale says he’s not a fan of that turn of phrase.

“Lots of people have concerns about things about modifying it,” he says. “That’s not where we have to go, we can just use it to understand things, we don’t have to modify.

“We’re not talking about genetic modification, we’re talking about understanding.””

Perhaps you missed that bit while you were chewing on your rubber tyre.

      • I am keen on removing stoats to stop their predation on indigenous species. They are difficult to deal with and this work by Dr Andrew Veale sounds to be very positive.

Thanks to Dr Veale and his work,we may be on track to better deal with this serious predator.

  1. So Winston was keeping Labour & the Grens Honest!

    Didn’t work.
They both till lie like flatfish.
Perhaps he mistook them for the flounders out front of his batch.

    • Yep- Apparently (now that there is an Election round the corner) Winston thinks Labour and the Greens live in ‘Woke Pixieland’.
Begs the rather obvious question of why the FUCK he put them in Government really doesn’t it?

    • He is to little to late for me if he thinks he can claim any credit for managing the poor and undemocratic behaviour of the present government.

It has been a disgrace and he has been the Deputy PM. His party has had Ministers in the cabinet alongside him. They have let New Zealand down with their woeful performance. He cannot claim any glory as I see it.

  2. Tuned into the Hosk this morning to hear him grill Princess, but he had Winston instead. Where is she? Hope she makes it to work this week. Or is Covid taking too much of her time? Despite having a Director-General of Health, Ministry of Health, Minister of Health, the Air Force, security companies, and the police, all on the case.

    • I was waiting for a comparison:
      Obstructing, obfuscating Ardern

Have to wait until next week I guess – or will Ardern stay in hiding until the election like Biden..

Considering last week she was bleating about being ‘all hands on deck’ and ‘totally dedicated’ to trying to eradicate that alleged ‘Pandemic’…

Why then does a certain person (who is known to be linked with men of way, waay more dubious character than JLR) have an exemption? Why is there a cone of silence around a certain few people??

Watch a change in attitude from the filth!
      Do it JuCo.

Dowie by the sound of it only shagged the piece of work JL Ross.
For that she paid a high price.
Ross was shagging at least 4 other women including likely Tova No’Brain
However Ross dumped dirt on Notional and pleasured a barren, ugly journalist(sic) so he got a free pass.

The treatment of Dowie (N) was ugly and when compared to the behaviour of Mega Fightery (L) there is a chasm between reporting events and personal attacks.

The NZ media filth is not the Fourth estate.
It is a toxic vile disgrace.

    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/money/2020/07/the-warehouse-to-announce-job-losses-to-employees.html

The Warehouse employees will learn their fate on Monday morning, as the company plans to axe about 1000 jobs.

Last month, The Warehouse chief executive Nick Grayston said the company was adopting an agile working structure, which could see more than 1000 jobs cut across the country – nearly 10 percent of the workforce.

    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/2020/07/time-to-start-writing-off-winston-peters-expert-explains-why-nz-first-have-no-hope.html

Winston Peters’ decision to back Labour in 2017 sowed the seeds for his ultimate demise, a political expert believes.

Dr Edwards said the main pitch of their campaign launch was “we will stop things”.

“It’s a very negative way to try and get votes, and I don’t think it’s going to work.”

KidsCan begins massive food distribution drive, but CEO says it’s ‘not something to celebrate’

KidsCan says it’s delivering more food and support for Kiwi kids in hardship than ever before, but CEO Julie Chapman says it’s not something to be celebrated.
    https://www.tvnz.co.nz/content/tvnz/onenews/story/2020/07/20/kidscan-begins-massive-food-distribution-drive-but-ceo-says-its.html?auto=6173053325001

The charitable organisation supplies food at schools, warm and dry clothing, as well as health items, to support vulnerable children at more than 780 schools.

This term, it’s distributing around 211 tonnes of food alone to schools around the country.

KidsCan says that’s a 40 per cent increase on last term, and has meant they need extra storage facilities as their warehouse overflows with supplies.

    8

    • Surely there won’t be many takers for this free food.
After all these poor waifs never had any food during the two weeks of school holidays so some will have starved to death (and some will have reduced to BMI of 35 ) 🙂

This whole scenario is loaded with irony.
      – how did they eat in the last 2 weeks if there was no free food?
-where is the food in a normal weekend ?
      – these idiots that push back on landlords and make rental more expensive with silly legislation are the ones who ensure there is less money for food and electricity after the rent is paid.

Stop wasting time on talking UBI and revamp the welfare system properly.
The technology is here and it is time to pay the bills directly to utility providers, and the rent to the landlord.
Leave a stipend at the end of the week of $40-50 for discretionary spending.
Provide a food carton twice a week for these people, to collect (or deliver if infirmed).
During business hours. You don’t turn up during work hours to collect- you go hungry.
Too stoned to collect but got the munchies, tough.
Invite a third grocery chain in like Aldi to create competition in that area.
      Weaken the current duopoly.
Allow them to compete in bids to supply the food as prescribed for a family of 2, 3, 7, 10 or whatever.
Or allow the Warehouse to enter the fray. It sounds like they have capacity at present.

Now if the whingers like University grifters complain let us look at the example of March to May 2020 when the takeaways were closed. People survived.
      They learnt to cook.
Unlike any time in the last 200 years there are wall to wall cooking shows on free to air television; you can look up cooking on the internet and see youtube videos.
Give out free cookbooks or pdf versions.

      It is time.
These people are getting free money and not providing anything back. F.. off about dignity.
      It’s time for a change.
It is time to improve the way things are done. The current welfare was revamped in the early 1970s and the world has changed in half a century.
Plus, there would be a reduction in takeaway bars and less need for immigrants and Dominos delivery people.

If people don’t like it there is always… you heard it here first…get a job!
For the media filth that will soon be unemployed vs the current underemployed- learn to code, Mofos.

This kidscan food service is a crude finger in the dyke (the thing that holds back water, not a labour pardy MP)
      Start thinking….the redesign.
Sure there are details to define like providing for transport, clothing, footwear, medical, but you don’t start the journey of 1000 miles without first putting one foot forward.
Go for 21st century better (or ‘bedda ‘ if illiterate)

    4 minutes 9 secs. : 1st July 2020
“He had a political debate on debate on Facebook and the next day the actual thought police turned up at his door! He wasn’t arrested but may end up in court!”

I looked for a follow up but there is none, but found this comment from just 2 days ago,
Edward Wyatt : 2 days ago
Thanks! Yes it was me in the video. I said I didn’t need a lawyer because I’ve studied law and have had over a dozen police interviews in my life, so I was confident that a co-operative one would only benefit my defence of any alleged crimes. After attending the interview I’m quite confident I won’t be charged but if I am, be ready for part 2 😂.

I hope he was able to independently record that police interview.

I doubt the British police will go further, as they may be well aware of that court case early this year, that the police lost, and how the judge castigated them in supporting the complainant.

In NZ, we have yet to learn how Angry Little, and his henchmen, human rights commissioner, race relations conciliator, Chief Censors, etc. will activate their version of “hate thought speech laws”.
Then just how our Court systems will handle this, while the media, activists, etc., bay for blood.
Always these systems ratchet onward, with little real pushback. 🙁

I just realized that I would have to pay $3,000 on returning to NZ from overseas, despite having a home in Auckland that I could self-isolate in.
This is totally going to kill the overseas travel-related businesses (as if we didn’t already know that).
I am sure that domestic travel destinations will see more use by locals, but this will not be able to cover the loss of international tourists.
In January this year I visited Murchison in the South Island. Some developer was busy building a multi-million-dollar facility specifically for Chinese bus tours. He will no doubt be thinking about converting this to a regular motel for Kiwis. Or else he will be going to the wall (and not the Great Wall).
    Perhaps the Wailing Wall…

    • We are only at the very beginning of the economic calamity that the government’s mis-handling of this fake crisis is unleashing on the country. Having closed the borders and shut everything down we still have the widespread medical effects of the disease to look forward to having not had the opportunity to develop any herd immunity. Can we survive as a South Pacific version of North Korea and what future will there be for our children and grandchildren?

  15. The train carriage was nearly full and a man and a woman sitting next to each other start to chit-chat. Everyone around them is quiet, just minding their own business.

The conversation soon becomes more animated and they are clearly enjoying each others company. Eventually they start touching and caressing each other.
Everyone keeps minding their own business.

Then they start kissing each other, heavy petting, soon there is no more conversation, just full blown making out.
Everyone keeps minding their own business.

Things escalate and they are unbuttoning each other clothes, hands lasciviously grabbing everything they can. She is almost on top of him and they start rubbing, dry-humping like crazy.
Everyone keeps minding their own business.

Eventually that was not enough so they get rid of those clothes and are now having wild sex on the train carriage. Animal noises, abound.
Everyone keeps minding their own business.

After some wild, sweaty few moments they both climax at the same time with a joyfull pleasure filled orgasm that resonates all over the train carriage. They fall on their seats, tired and sweaty.
Everyone keeps minding their own business.

The man, reaches his trousers pocket, grabs a cigarette and a lighter. He lights the cigarette and starts smoking.
At this point an old lady sitting next to them says:

“Excuse me young man! This is a non-smoking compartment!”

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has spoken out against the treatment of Uighur Muslims in China, and a controversial Hong Kong security law, in a speech to the Chinese business community in New Zealand.

The Prime Minister began her speech by describing the New Zealand-China relationship as “in good shape”, with trade ties in excess of $32 billion last year and a comprehensive strategic partnership now in its sixth year.

  19. Tourist operators worried for their future after excellent numbers in school holidays. What do they expect and do they think the Prime Minister Labour with their Coalition Partners will preach the same message every holidays, while I agree that NZer’s should see there own backyards before traveling overseas things are not going to change in the foreseeable future and even though thousands turned up over the holidays you have to be dreaming to think that you can survive.

    • I did some work on the Gold Coast in the mid 1980s.
It was known fact that they made money less than 15 weeks of the year- on school holidays.

International tourism – until March 2020 – would have spread that out more in recent years,

However, at that time they really had to plan cashflow carefully including all the support industries like commercial laundries, delivery drivers and so on.
They used a lot of ‘casual labour’
The opening of the casino and pursuing conference events helped.
Rotorua was probably like that then.
Queenstown had the skiing to smooth things out an it was mainly After Easter for 6 to 7 weeks that was quiet.

The consistent cashflow is a recent phenomenon but if you are a millennial I guess- ‘it was always like that’; and ‘everybody knows’ ,and ‘nobody wants ‘. Groupthink with no looking at another POV.

  20. Winston Peters to pay $320,000 over failed superannuation leak privacy court case
Deputy Prime Minister Winston Peters says his reputation is still being damaged by a leak two years ago which revealed he had been overpaid in pension money.

In a departure from his Government role, Peters stepped into the witness box in Auckland’s High Court today to begin his privacy claim against two former government ministers, two public sector bosses, and a government department.

With Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern at the East Asia Summit in Thailand, Peters would have chaired Cabinet today if he were not in court. Leaked internal documents show some NZ First members are frustrated that Peters is pursuing the case.

But giving evidence in court, Peters said the fallout from the leak in the lead-up to the 2017 general election was still hurting him.

  21. Eric Watson’s Cullen Group abandons $112m tax appeal, related party debts revealed

Eric Watson’s Cullen Group has abandoned its appeal against a $112 million tax judgment, while a second liquidators’ report shows significant intercompany debts.

Last December, KPMG’s Vivian Fatupaito and Luke Norman were appointed liquidators of several Watson-linked companies after the High Court declined to halt insolvency proceedings brought by the Inland Revenue (IRD) against Cullen Group.

The tax department had been pursuing liquidation after Justice Matthew Palmer ruled in March 2019 that Cullen Group was part of Watson’s “web of entities” designed to avoid paying non-resident withholding tax.

IRD won a $112m High Court tax judgment against Cullen Group, which was then appealed. However, a second liquidators’ report released last week shows the appeal has been abandoned.

“Having obtained legal advice on the probability of success of the tax appeal and considered the costs associated with the appeal, the liquidators decided against proceeding with the appeal and filed formal notice with the court to this effect,” the report reads.

National MP Andrew Falloon to step down after election citing ‘unresolved grief’
    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/2020/07/national-mp-andrew-falloon-to-step-down-after-election-citing-unresolved-grief.html

“Unfortunately, recently, another friend took their own life, which has brought back much unresolved grief. I have made a number of mistakes and I apologise to those who have been affected.”

Falloon did not disclose what those “mistakes” were.

“Recent events have compounded that situation and reminded me of the need to maintain my own health and wellbeing,” Falloon added. “I have again been receiving counselling.”

But the parents are controlled, and not allowed to counter state control if they figure this, which by then is too late.

  24. Once again Leighton Smith’s podcast this week is great. The key part is a long discussion with Oliver Hartwich (NZ Initiative). Oliver is a great thinker and also a great communicator ( a real communicator not a media promoted , pretend one.). The discussion is a must listen for all centre right thinkers.
If National wins, they will have to find a way to get Oliver involved as a close adviser. ( Maintaining his neutrality in his current position, maybe an issue)

Alleged Mongrel Mob Queensland president Eric Pere arrested for wearing gang clothing in public
    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/world/2020/07/alleged-mongrel-mob-queensland-president-eric-pere-arrested-for-wearing-gang-clothing-in-public.html

Eric Ian Waimana Pere, 37, was allegedly seen wearing a hoodie emblazoned with ‘Mob Mafia’ and the gang’s bulldog logo while inside Westfield Garden City on June 19, the Courier Mail reports.

He was also with another Mongrel Mob member at the time, which was allegedly a bail condition breach from an unrelated offence in December that required him not to associate with other gang members. He also allegedly breached bail conditions by living in a property in Springwood in southeast Brisbane.

    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/2020/07/government-sets-aside-14-billion-in-case-new-zealand-experiences-second-wave-of-covid-19.html

The National Party wants to use the remaining funds to pay for infrastructure projects – but Robertson said that’s not what it’s for and made a dig at the National Party’s planned use of it if they win the election.

“The fund is not there to be used for any old project in the never-never,” Robertson said. “It is to provide support and stimulus to recover and rebuild from COVID-19.”

Why is there only $14 billion left?

The $50 billion fund unveiled in Budget 2020 included spending on COVID-19 related spending that had already been announced, so at the time there was $20.2 billion left.

      • Floyd. The interesting bit is the news that came out today about Falloon sending pix of his junk to a 15 yr old is identical to Anthony Weiners stunt a few years back.
Anthony Weiner is married to Huma Abedin, who was Hillary’s top aide.
The Weiner laptop that was seized by the FBI, as evidence, has Hillary’s missing emails on it.
New Yorks AG Berman, was recently removed by the President and AG Barr because he refused to hand the lap top over.
On that laptop is more than just emails, way more.
Sidney Powell the Attorney for Gen Flynn nows more about it.

Ryan on Magic Radio has reported that Falloon sent naked photos of his junk to someone other than his wife. A good citizen reported the sexual content via a letter to Cindy. Her office referred the letter to Judith to deal with. Hence his resignation this morning.

The question is: how did the parliamentary media KNOW to ask about the letter received by the PM’s office despite Cindy saying “it is best kept confidential and the letter has been passed onto the leader of the opposition to deal with”. Who in her office leaked to the media pack that they had passed on a letter to Judith?

Dirty politics – it’s different when the left do it!

Some of the boards were damaged just hours after being installed on Saturday.

Replacements won’t come out of the party’s election advertising allowance due to the damage.

Billboards promoting National’s Chris Bishop and Jacqui Dean, MPs for Hutt South and Waitaki respectively, were destroyed in apparent deliberate attacks during the weekend.

In Nelson, National MP Nick Smith’s caravan was vandalised with red paint smeared over the window and side.

  38. Andrew Falloon
This might start to explain the low rent critters as MPs in recent years with Notional being no exception.

    What a dick (pic sender)
    …to a school kid.
    He is F.I.T.H.
If he is that unbalanced why was he selected?.
    NZ’s Anthony Weiner.

Notional need to sort their shit out.
The have had poor selection in recent years.
    Jami Lee Ross; poor judgement of Sarah Dowie; stupid actions of Hamish Walker;
    The mystique of Mike Sabin who stood down on 2015 and opened the door for Winston to get an electorate seat;
    the complete pillock Aaron Gilmore- do you know who I am;
and Todd Barclay affair but how much was white anting by Bill English. Cactus Kate rips into English in her latest post.
The names above are just what immediately jumps out.

The whole is made up of the parts and they have some low rent crapola that are selected.
This probably tells us why they Notional had shit performance for years.
There also appears to be white-anting in Notional of the level one would expect to see in the Australian Labor party.
A house divided …and all that.

You cannot hide the actions of sending dick pics to a schoolkid behind mental health although there is the parallel that things are not right in the cortex of this geezer.
On a funda mental level he does not even know right from wrong.

5 Days ago things were looking very good for Notional.
    Still wont get my vote.
A week is a long time in politics.

My god the FB feed is full on vitriol. Police walked away from it but Ardern made sure it was public.

    • Starting to sound a bit Colin Moyle-ish.
      The story shifts.

It was ammunition and Labour used it.
That is a message to Notional to go hard with no mercy.
The stakes are high. Very high.
Don’t bother with ‘it’s not fair’

The media are biased scum but we already know that.
Which is why I said the other day that Notional need to announce policy that they will sell off TVNZ and RNZ …at any price.

It does not matter if the recipient was 18, 19, 29, or 49
Unsolicited sexual photos is sexual harassment.
And if it was solicited why is a 37 year old married man responding like this to a Teenager?
      Optics! He is an MP.

Even if he was an NRL league player he would be censured severely in 2020.
It is starting to look like the mental health is a pullover to cover up stupid behaviour.

Like many MPs Falloon (based on reports at this moment) is not fit to make law in this country.
Hence my argument to reduce the number of MPS to 99.
This was voted FOR by 82% of the population in 1999.

If Notional supported the gun confiscation why are so many of them shooting themselves in the foot in 2020?

  39. Hopefully someone from the ACT party reads this. They need to make a sound loop with accompanying pictures of the election slogans of labour and nzf. After the drunken midget screamed his slogan out at their election campaign launch, and had to be helped off the stage by the fat don afterwards, it was the first thought that struck me.

    It goes like this:

    Labour – LET’S KEEP MOVING

    Nzf – BACK YOUR FUTURE

LET’S KEEP MOVING BACK YOUR FUTURE

LETS KEEP MOVING BACK YOUR FUTURE

This is exactly what is happening after all. We are being dragged decades behind where we should be and will pay for decades more to get back.

Cindy and Winnie – cmon, both together now, nice and loud!

LET’S KEEP MOVING BACK YOUR FUTURE……

Maybe their PR people should talk more? Hahaha
