  2. JEEEEEEEZ, Nationals new Rangitata hopeful Megan Hands being interviewed on radio said “Im looking forward to having those conversations” she’s just another cloned ,standard parliamentary seat warmer.
She should get together with Simeon Brown and have a couple of children ,the kids wouldn’t have to grow into being gay beta male soy boys they’d be born that way FFS.

    • I agree with Antifa – on one thing

I hate to say it, but I think I agree with the psychotic, violent thugs in Antifa. But only on one thing!

I think we do need a revolution, I think democracy has been irrevocably broken.

The nomination of candidates like Megan Hands (by very undemocratic ‘grace and favour’ processes – internal only to the party faithful who carry out some arcane ritual or other to divine who the political gods should favour) shows why. For a long time now we’ve only had choices between politically aligned clones who offer policy choices that are to all intents and purposes identically unrepresentative.

And it seems to be a worldwide problem. In the UK – despite running on an anti-immigration ticket and promising to the hard working Labour heartlands that they’d defend their jobs – it looks like Boris is going to sign up to the UN migration pact. How can these people live with themselves? Thank goodness that Farage is calling them on their lies.

Anyway – in a world where it seems that all political parties are helter-skelter committed to supporting globalist policies (even to the extent of banning a life-saving drug and consigning some elderly to Covid death – just to perpetuate the scamdemic) and destroying our national cultural fabric – we need a different option. Sure Trump is an anomaly, but there’ll never be another Trump in the USA after he’s gone. It’ll be back to the Jeb Bush and Chelsea Clinton/Michelle Obama show.

So while I’m clear democracy is fundamentally, permanently corrupted by the fascistic left – the problem is finding the alternative. How do we get to a Singapore situation where we have a benign dictatorship who only cares about Singapore and has miraculously propelled Singapore into an economic mini-superpower with enviably high standards of living? Sure you can’t spit on the sidewalks, but you won’t have screaming blackshirts assaulting you either!

  3. I just heard Dr Bryce Edwards say he thinks there is an appetite for more tax to be paid.

Dr Edwards is very much out of touch with that comment. I do not wish to pay more tax. I am not OK with the wanton spending by the just term finished Coalition that in my view just wasted the efforts of taxpayers, probably for a generation at least.

No to more tax. I want a government that reduces the cost of government and has a firm and sensible approach to an economy. Spend and hope is not a solution.

      • That’s usually the way.

I still suggest ACT should have a directive to IRD to make paying tax voluntarily a lot easier; that way we can forward on the URL onto such virtue signalers.

    • I remember in the campaign of 1999, that Jim Anderton’s dominatrix stated most people were willing to pay more tax. I said to myself “Who was she asking?”

The same here. Who is Edwards asking? Does he surround himself in an echo chamber (highly likely)?

  5. NZ election 2020: Winston Peters back in Parliament? ‘No, no, no’ – Bryce Edwards
    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/2020/08/nz-election-2020-winston-peters-back-in-parliament-no-no-no-bryce-edwards.html

Winston Peters’ long career in politics is fewer than six weeks away from ending, a prominent political academic has claimed.

Asked on The AM Show on Monday if NZ First would make it back in, Victoria University politics lecturer Bryce Edwards borrowed a phrase made famous by the 75-year-old.

“No,” Dr Edwards told host Duncan Garner. “No, no, no.”

Ministry of Transport fraudster Joanne Harrison cons her way into companies in the UK
    https://www.stuff.co.nz/national/stuff-circuit/300076002/ministry-of-transport-fraudster-joanne-harrison-cons-her-way-into-companies-in-the-uk

Joanne Harrison, the woman convicted of a massive fraud at the Ministry of Transport, has adopted a new identity and is using it to con her way into high-paying jobs in the UK.

A Stuff Circuit investigation has discovered Harrison has changed her name to Joanna Middleton, and has used that identity to apply for jobs at two major companies, lying about her past.

Neither company, when approached, was aware of her criminal record in New Zealand.

    • The stupid thing is that Harrison or [insert her name today here] was out of prison in under 2 years.
They should have allowed Australia to to extradite her for offences there.

They did request details but the complete moron Martin Matthews – her boss -turned away a request from the Australian Federal Police to get access to her for fraud in Victoria .
Other countries like Thailand or Indonesia co-operate with the AFP but the moron Matthews did not want to.
Perhaps he was too stupid to understand his obligations or was dizzy from the last [insert her name] BJ.

Matthews’ behaviour was never outed in this disgraceful activity as it should have been.
Protecting shit public servants yet again.
Matthews’ appalling behaviour cost at least 4 honest people their jobs and he is parading himself as a fucking victim.
      What an egg.

Matthews wanted to be the Auditor General for all NZ – overseeing $90 billion a year in Govt expenditure ; and even more now with the billions in handouts/election bribes .
I would not trust him with the Saturday takings from the bowling club.
      Martin Matthews. Remember that name.
      Wevers was correct.

Out in less than two years.
A disgraceful chapter all round and another example of the Pro-crime stance of the NZ Government.

  7. For all good “aotearoans” that follow the “matariki” & “puanga” in the maori science of stars. 🙁

NASA also is doing a cleansing of stars.

NASA announced in a press release Thursday that it will change the names of planets and other heavenly bodies that it deems “offensive.”
For instance, the “Eskimo Nebula,” discovered in 1787 by William Hershel, will now be referred to as NGC 2392, and the “Siamese Twins Galaxy” will be known as NGC 4567 and NGC 4568.

    https://disrn.com/news/nasa-to-change-offensive-names-from-planets-and-other-celestial-bodies

NASA long since sold their souls to the “dark side of sciences”.

Nicknames are often more approachable and public-friendly than official names for cosmic objects, such as Barnard 33, whose nickname “the Horsehead Nebula” invokes its appearance.
But often seemingly innocuous nicknames can be harmful and detract from the science.
    .
The Agency will be working with diversity, inclusion, and equity experts in the astronomical and physical sciences to provide guidance and recommendations for other nicknames and terms for review.
    .
“These nicknames and terms may have historical or culture connotations that are objectionable or unwelcoming, and NASA is strongly committed to addressing them,” said Stephen T. Shih, Associate Administrator for Diversity and Equal Opportunity at NASA Headquarters. “Science depends on diverse contributions, and benefits everyone, so this means we must make it inclusive.”

    https://www.nasa.gov/feature/nasa-to-reexamine-nicknames-for-cosmic-objects

To help all the people who could not even see these things, could not make wheels or even to make glass, that further developed to spectacles through to telescopes and microscopes.

Would these people have a police clearance to “work” (indoctrinate) with children.
May be not technically grooming, but how far is this from ‘grooming’?
Being in the library, is there a supervisor, a bureaucrat, a council, that can be held responsible for any “misdemeanor”?
Or will the council just say; “we will look into it” with a “huruhuru” duster?

Libraries in New Zealand are already been doing this,
Is it really free? or are some making a living out of this?
The drag queens are looking to validate themselves, as being another part of normal inclusiveness.

All for free? yeah right. On whose tab or sponsorship?
A form of “virtue signalling” to go on their CV so an inclusive nod can be given.
A ‘feelz’ good factor seems to be at work here, but for whose good?

      What is the point?
If they are really dolled up to be like woman, then the children would not know they are men, male.
Is it to show that some woman have very deep voices? Is that the point? yeah naahhh.
What is something being let slipped to the children?

All dolled up, and being a sex worker, will also entertain the children?
Again what is the point? unless it is let slipped that the sex workers have many paying partners and you too can be one.

Tolerance, Normal, yeah right, but is there an agenda behind it?
Just how are the lives of Erika and Coco Flash. The truth now “ladies”.

Another truth emerged in the Lexington library, where a public “town hall” meeting was held with a council of commissioners.

read LGBT-affirming story books to young children ages 3-8.
They also conducted a “drag queen makeup tutorial” for “tweens and teens” – children 9-19 years old.
Their stated goal: “To capture their imagination and give kids positive and unabashedly queer, role models.”
The event at the public library was organized by the Southern Maryland Area Secular Humanists,

There is a video 18 mins in the above link of the points parents made of their concerns, with many interesting points, and facts, shows up more other events and agenda with others that push these agendas of “inclusiveness” and being a part of the thin edge of the wedge, like to NAMBLA

  9. New South Waikato training centre to be ‘catalyst’ to get local youth in jobs
    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/rural/2020/08/new-south-waikato-training-centre-to-be-catalyst-to-get-local-youth-in-jobs.html

A new trades centre in South Waikato aims to train up local youth to fill almost 1000 jobs in the region over the next five years.

The centre will be built in the town of Tokoroa and is set to be completed by 2022.

It will cater to key local sectors including farming, engineering, construction, manufacturing and logistics.

Construction of the centre comes after a survey of South Waikato companies found around 850 new staff would be required in the region over the next five years, said Francis Pauwels, SWIFT economic development manager.

If there are 1000 new skilled people required in the next 5 years and the training centre will be ready – at best – in 2 years -RMA and all that- then they are halfway into the skills drought with no solution.

I would have thought with the weak economy of Tokoroa there must be some empty buildings that can be repurposed.
Will the cousies get off the couch to attend the training, let alone attend jobs?

  11. Sarah Dowie epitomises what is wrong with National

Sarah Dowie’s valedictory speech sums up exactly how far National have drifted into the Labour Lite mindset.

Apparently poor wittle Ms Dowie was the victim, it was the patriarchy that tried to destroy her (neglecting to mention that the patriarchy she talks of was the female dominated Press Gallery). She was also a victim of an evil man (a bad man!), apparently she had no choice in the matter – imagine that! In this day and age, a married woman, an MP, a supposed pillar of the community! She had no choice about opening her legs for an obvious slimeball like JLR. Clearly, she is not equal. She does not possess the ability to make decisions for her self.

In short, poor Ms Dowie is not able to be self-responsible. She needed to be protected from the bad man who she entered into an (admittedly ill-advised) CONSENSUAL relationship.

What was it that Thomas Sowell said “There are few things in life as seductive as the notion that everything bad that happens to you is someone else’s fault!”

Equally, she had no choice about sending that terrible text to JLR – wishing he was dead. For me that is an almost unforgivable act. We are supposed to have evolved beyond that stage where death is the answer to every crime – and on the face of it what JLR did was nasty – but worthy of a death sentence? Where is the sound judgment that we expect of MPs? Where is the proportionate response, the measured and considered approach to complex and challenging problems that we expect of the highest level of decision-makers in the land? Apparently, Ms Dowie is no different to the Antifa thugs destroying the US democracy right now. If you FEEL strongly about something, then anything goes!

I have sympathy for Ms Dowie’s hurt feelings, embarrassment and sense of loss. I wouldn’t wish what she went through on anyone.

But all of it could have been avoided if she’d made better life choices!

And we need MPs in the National party who live by that simple and self-evident truth.

I think the link came from YSB. I would not normally go there.
I only watched a bit of the first one.
It was poor me; little girl lost; soft, sad voice blah blah.
This was the approx 40 year woman who fought for a safe Notional party seat, had been a practicing lawyer, was a mother and a wife and well travelled MP who went to russia at age 15, just happened to get ‘metoo’d in a consensual sexual M-F adult relationship with a bloke who was a sleaze.

I won’t link for health and safety reasons and preservation of your keyboard if not the screen as well.

The interview reminded me a bit of the Christine Crazy Ford testimony (?) against Kavanaugh and the pathetic little ‘poor me’ voice.
Fuck off Dowie. Just fuck off now.

Dowie is pathetic and there are too many of them in Notional.
They have a long way to go to regain respect and appointing Todd whats’is’name as No 8 on the NP list when he had a meltdown when a bit of pressure came on after a few weeks on the job.

Notional seems utterly clueless with a useless President whose wife (and she is ex-wife of MP Scott Simpson -N ) is a lefty on the Auckland council that voted for the 3.5% rates rise and no attempt to curtail council spending.

They allowed the critter M Hooten to really mess things up then walk away with no restraint on his exploiting his damage.
They are bringing in further chinless wonders as Chris Luxon is going to be.

  12. Cindy did say, “the money is there so we may as well spend it”. Did she consider it has to be paid back?

NZ Election 2020: Jacinda Ardern stays tight-lipped on how Labour would pay back COVID borrowing
    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/2020/08/nz-election-2020-jacinda-ardern-stays-tight-lipped-on-how-labour-would-pay-back-covid-borrowing.html

With six weeks to go until the election, Labour is still staying coy on how it plans to pay off the country’s debt, should it remain in power after September 19.

Labour leader Jacinda Ardern has repeatedly refused to answer whether her party would increase taxes to pay off the $50 billion borrowed to get the country through the COVID-19 economic crisis. On Monday, she refused to even say if she thought it was a good idea in principle, even if it wasn’t Labour policy.

“Asking for my theory or opinion on it, whether it’s personal or otherwise, is seeking to announce a policy before it’s ready to be put out there,” she told The AM Show. “You won’t have to wait very long.”

Christchurch horse racing track bags Provincial Growth Fund cash despite being ruled ineligible
    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/2020/08/christchurch-horse-racing-track-bags-provincial-growth-fund-cash-despite-being-ruled-ineligible.html

The Provincial Growth Fund is bankrolling a horse-racing track in the middle of Christchurch to the tune of $10.5 million, despite officials saying the project doesn’t meet the fund’s criteria.

Racing Minister and New Zealand First leader Winston Peters announced in May that the all-weather track in Riccarton would be funded, along with another track in Manawatu’s Awapuni.

“There is no evidence provided that indicates public consultation has occurred on the proposal or with regional economic development governance groups.”

Despite the concerns, the minister in charge of the PGF, NZ First’s Shane Jones, and Labour Ministers Phil Twyford, Grant Robertson and David Parker, approved the funding.

National’s economic development spokesman, Michael Woodhouse, said serious questions must be asked about why a wet-weather track was being funded when COVID-19 was creating more pressing priorities.

After years and years of solid proof that surgical masks don’t stop the transmission of virus and extended use only offers negative health outcomes – the Communist Party of China WHO have issued an update to say that they were wrong – now masks are a really, really, really, really important part of how we are kept in a thrall of idiocised fear safe from the common cold.

This is such a relief, for a while there I thought that there was a creepy attempt to influence the election by making us all wear things that visually remind us that every human being is a danger to us and we need St Jacinda to save us from the evil white supremacists every day virus carriers who want to kill our aged parents and grandparents.

Fuck it’s a relief to see something from the totally, completely, utterly unbiased, uncorrupted, politically unbiased, trustworthy WHO to make sure we feel safe in our Lord Jacinda Christ.

I don’t know who said it yesterday but it bears repeating. Think of how stupid the average person is, then think that 50% of the population are even dumber!

    • Eliminating the small number of active Covid-19 cases in NZ should be easy. A couple of weeks will do it.
The trick will be not to let into the country anyone who might possible have the virus.

There goes the lucrative student market and tourism.

I hope that by the end of 2022 international travel without quarantine will be a thing.

  16. Duncan Garner: It’s a coronavirus election – and COVID has become an excuse not to talk about the ugly stuff
    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/2020/08/duncan-garner-it-s-a-coronavirus-election-and-covid-has-become-an-excuse-not-to-talk-about-the-ugly-stuff.html

So it is a COVID election. And conveniently, it’s become an excuse not to talk about the ugly stuff.

But six weeks is a long campaign. The media get bored and will look for trouble as much as National will.

The polls will tighten up: 42 days is a long time to go mistake-free for anyone.

Ardern will be nervously guarding her position.

It’s up to the artillery of troublemakers in Opposition to get her out of the COVID trenches. If they do – then we have a fight on our hands.

lying deputy PM who gave her the finger and failed to tell her to pull

    https://www.tvnz.co.nz/one-news/new-zealand/national-plans-require-drivers-display-insurance-details-car-rego-labels

The changes would require car insurer details to be displayed on car registration labels and vehicles that don’t have, as a minimum, third party car insurance to display the word “uninsured” on their label.

Drivers would have to link the Motor Vehicle Database with insurer details to help smooth the process should details be required.

Leader Judith Collins says uninsured drivers “cost responsible drivers millions of dollars”. She said National doesn’t believe that’s fair.

“That means when people are coming back into the country, can you separate them from other people that are coming in from countries that do have COVID?” she said.

“I know this seems really obvious, and I shouldn’t have to say it, but I thought it was pretty obvious that when you quarantine you keep people in quarantine, and they didn’t do that in the beginning.”

Bennett says she wants checks on who will be in the Cook Islands and a separate airport for Kiwis travelling to and from the Pacific nation, so tourists don’t have to mix with returnees flying into Auckland from high-risk nations.

“If they’re gonna open up, I want absolute damned assurances that they’re gonna get this one right, right from day one.”

    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/2020/08/helen-clark-hits-out-at-shock-jock-mike-hosking-over-cannabis-views.html

Former Prime Minister Helen Clark has urged Kiwis to ignore ‘shock jocks’ when they come to decide whether to vote in favour of cannabis legalisation.

Clark wants the upcoming referendum to pass, ending the prohibition on the popular drug so Kiwis don’t have to get it from tinny houses.

But she’s run into opposition from a number conservative commentators and broadcasters, notably Newstalk ZB’s Mike Hosking, who regularly uses his platform to urge listeners to vote ‘no’ in September.

“People are rushing around the house, pouting the cornflakes on the table for the kids, the rant’s going on in the background… How much influence does it really have, is what I’m asking? I’d say to people there are more informative channels.”

“I am asking the people of Epsom rather than telling, it’s always important to be respectful of people and their votes.”

National’s leader also stated her admiration for ACT’s leader is well known.

“Everyone knows I think David Seymour is an excellent local MP, so I don’t need to do anything else, have little cups of tea or anything, because everybody knows that David Seymour and I work very well together.

“A National Party Government is best served with ACT as its partner.”

“Clearly there is something they think is different and I’ve got these mixed messages in the last few days with the Director-General of Health talking about COVID lockdown level 2 and face masks and people are saying ‘well hang on, what’s going on here?'”

Collins said she found it “very odd” that the Prime Minister would announce during the election campaign that a travel bubble could be in place by December.

“It just staggers me that the Government is currently today announcing that they might do something in December. Well, they won’t be around in December so it won’t be their decision,” Collins said.

And the situation was worsening, with more people asking for help every day, Red Cross visitor care Manaaki Manuhiri project lead Rachel O’Connor said.

The Red Cross was currently helping more than 4,000 backpackers, seasonal workers and tourists with food, warm clothing and financial help.

But with continuous flight cancellations and difficulty in finding work, many were running out of their savings, O’Connor said.

The organisation was funded by the Department of Internal Affairs to provide help to stranded migrants until the end of September, but the need was unlikely to diminish by then, O’Connor said.

Charges for returnees will come into force from 12.01am tomorrow, after they passed their last Cabinet milestone today, Housing Minister Megan Woods said.

“The new charging system balances the rights of New Zealanders to return home and helps reduce pressure on the managed isolation and quarantine system, while recovering some of the costs from those who choose to leave and enter the country on holidays or business trips,” Ms Woods said.

“Anyone who needs to come home but cannot afford the charges will still be able to come home. Exemptions are available for certain groups of people and waivers from charges are possible on a case-by-case basis for undue financial hardship and in special circumstances (such as compassionate grounds).
