  1. Good morning, lets hope for a better day today, with some of the COL lies and spending bought to the attention of all the crazy liebour voters to make them realise what is really going on

      • A ridiculously airbrushed Billboard of the Mad Queen has appeared on the fence up the road. Saw it as I walk the kids to School this morning.
There were two Mums walking their kids in front of me.
I overheard them talking about it- “God she’s so naturally beautiful”
        “Yes isn’t she just incredible?”
Labour Voters are honestly just fucking besotted with her aren’t they? I wanted to yell that I have met Ardern in person and she looks NOTHING like that picture but I know it would have ended with me being branded a ‘Misogynist’ etc

        • I remember many elections ago posters of Helen Clark in a yellow outfit, and photo shopped to the max. My partner saw one when we were out and about and naively commented Gosh I never realised she’s actually quite attractive!

  2. So the Ministry of Health (via Saint Ashley) bullshitted us about the Flu vaccines. Time after time he and Cindy told us there were enough for everyone. There weren’t.

    • Only three years has passed since the Mad Queen said:

……” “I believe that it is possible to exist in politics without lying and by telling the truth,” “……

      18

    • But it is not only the issue of quantity. I believe Dr Reti , National MP, got Genter to acknowledge in Parliament last week that they got a vaccine that treated the wrong strains of flu –the vaccine covered 3 strains but one was an issue. So they stuffed up in two ways.

      13

      0

      • Yes Ross. And make it three ways, as there were major issues with the distribution channels. It was distribution that they attempted to blame to cover the lack of vaccines, but there were genuine issues with the distribution. These are the same channels through which a Covid vaccine would be distributed, and there would be higher demand for the Covid vaccine.

  3. Lebanon’s government resigns after Beirut blast
    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/world/2020/08/lebanon-s-government-resigns-after-beirut-blast.html

Lebanon’s Prime Minister announced his government’s resignation on Monday, saying a huge explosion that devastated the capital and stirred public outrage was the result of endemic corruption.

Documents show warning signs in Beirut’s explosion may have been missed or ignored

In a televised address, Prime Minister Hassan Diab said he backed calls by ordinary Lebanese for those responsible for “this crime” to be put on trial.

Diab made the announcement after the cabinet, formed in January with the backing of the powerful Iranian-backed Hezbollah group and its allies, met on Monday, with many ministers wanting to resign, according to ministerial and political sources.

        • Nah. Everyone knows they snuck in at midnight in their rubber ducky and left a suicide bomber behind to do a delayed explosion,
Or maybe it was a submarine that sent one up the gunga!
More likely the Hazballal have been slowly over the years using the fertilizer to make it’s own bombs using this big pile of free explosive.
Trouble was someone stuffed it up and know they have no more free explosive and the locals are pissed with them!

Typical of the malfeasance and lies of you people.

The missile was filmed and witnesses heard the detonators that started the fire.

Israel should be bombed for this. First 911 and now this.

  4. Another stunning day in the winter less north. North easterly of about 30 knots and hosing down, so much for the dry winter they predicted. This raises the question, how can these so called climate scientists tell us what it’s going to be like in 50 years but can’t get the forecast right for this year? Maybe it’s because they’re a bunch of lying charlatans who are more interested in their pay packets than telling the truth?

          • I just ducked outside to move a few tiny hedging plants before the rain set in. They are in and the rain started just as I finished so no need to water them in. The sky is slate grey and it’s very chilly out there. Nice to be back inside. Might make some Anzac bickies for hubby once I’ve warmed up. On Saturday we sat on the deck at a cafe and it was definitely warm and springlike. Not quite there yet.

Have a great day no matter your winter weather.

  5. National Party selects Emma Mellow as Auckland Central candidate
    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/2020/08/nz-election-2020-emma-mellow-is-national-party-s-auckland-central-candidate.html

Mellow was an active member in the Young Nats, and had previously worked at Sydney Airport as a communications advisor and is currently a senior communications advisor at ANZ.

“I’ve been really lucky to be involved in the National Party for 12 years. I’ve been a volunteer and I’ve been proudly supporting Nikke Kaye for that time, and I hope that my loyalty to the party and my ambition for the National Party got me across the line tonight.”

She says the next five weeks before the election will be “difficult”, but she’ll work “tirelessly” to win the seat for National.

Mellow says for people that don’t know who she is, she’s a “young, liberal woman” who lives in the Auckland Central electorate.

“I’m a young professional, I live in an apartment with my fiance Chris and I’m passionate about our country, and that’s why I want to be in politics.”

        • Not worrying me if Judith Collins gets stuck in to the nonsense coming from Jacinda Ardern. That is what politics is about. Getting all hurty feely is not. Some of the colleagues need a tuneup as well. Jacinda Ardern did not have a monopoly on unimpressive caucus members. Some fairly ill considered stuff came from the rest of the Coalition as well..

I want to see some push back; it seems overdue to me.

  6. Is there any wonder after JAG ridiculously reduced our road speeds. Most drivers don’t realise the long straight safe country roads they have always driven now have speeds posted 20km lower than they have always been. Some intersections have been reduced from 100km down to 60km.

BLM is a violent racist hate group formed and supported by Obama. Its members have brutally murdered dozens of people.

  10. Had a phone call earlier from someone trying to flog me some double glazing.
It took me back about ten years to a phone call I had from someone trying to flog me a conservatory.
I’d love a conservatory. I imagine myself sitting in it on warm summer evenings, glass of rum and coke in hand, looking out over my extensive and beautifully ordered garden and thinking how good life is. it’s a dream.

So anyway.. i’m on the phone for close to 40 minutes with the conservatory guy and we’ve even got down to choosing what colour and type of blinds would be perfect in my new conservatory.
He’s very excited, I can tell.
‘Can I just confirm your postcode and address’ he says and I’m happy to give those details.
There is a pause of about 20 seconds during which I can hear him typing and then..

Labour and the Greens have sworn to close down all Prisons etc and give every violent Criminal some of Jacinda’s ‘Kindness’.
The average New Zealander would be fucking horrified and quite frightened by the consequences of this.

“At the moment New Zealand is facing all the downs; down one was the lockdown – down two is the shutdown; border control that’s going to remain for a while, down three is slowdown; the global economy is slowing.

    • We Jews are a funny breed. We love to brag about every Jewish actor. Sometimes we even pretend an actor is Jewish just because we like him enough that we think he deserves to be on our team. We brag about Jewish authors, Jewish politicians, Jewish directors. Every time someone mentions any movie or book or piece of art, we inevitably say something like, “Did you know that he was Jewish?” That’s just how we roll.

We’re a driven group, and not just in regards to the art world. We have, for example, AIPAC, which was essentially constructed just to drive agenda in Washington DC. And it succeeds admirably. And we brag about it. Again, it’s just what we do.

But the funny part is when any anti-Semite or anti-Israel person starts to spout stuff like, “The Jews control the media!” and “The Jews control Washington!”

      Suddenly we’re up in arms.

the culture shift since 2017 in Govt Depts is to lie and suppress facts.

We have seen it with Treasury and the police.

We have seen it with Min of Health along with massive failures under Bloomfailed since he started mid 2018- Menigitis; Measles; flu vaccine; quarantine; communication; etc

-Croaking Cassandra is regularly calling out the Reserve Bank
-Min of Education has always been poor.
-The stupid lyin’ cheater who wanted to be Auditor General wont shut up with his tom-foolery
      -You cannot trust DOC
-Statistics has become useless- deliberately as the COL dont want facts in circulation – could not even do a census which has been done for thousands of years around the world
-NZTA is a farce and failure

    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/world/2020/08/us-president-donald-trump-removed-from-press-conference-after-shots-fired-outside-white-house-report.html

Trump has since returned to the conference, telling reporters it appears “there was a shooting outside the White House” that now “seems very much under control”.

He said a person has been taken to the hospital after being shot by the Secret Service, but he hadn’t been told of their condition.

Asked if he felt rattled, Trump told media the world “has been a dangerous place” but that he felt safe with his agents, who he described as “fantastic people.

National still keen on police ‘gang unit’, wants to relocate ex-prisoners to have fresh start
    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/2020/08/nz-election-2020-national-still-keen-on-police-gang-unit-wants-to-relocate-ex-prisoners-to-have-fresh-start.html

The policy document also shows National is still keen to have a “dedicated gang unit” to “disrupt the operation of gangs” – an idea proposed last year modelled on the Strike Force Raptor gang unit in New South Wales.

National’s ‘Clean Start’ policy would build on the ‘Out of the Gate’ programme started by the previous National-led Government which provided wraparound support to people after they were released from prison.

National leader Judith Collins said on Tuesday the party’s law and order policy is “simple”.

“Victims should get justice and criminals should be held accountable for the harm they cause, while also being rehabilitated into contributing members of our society.”

  16. I have never been so upset by a poll in my life. Only 22% of Americans now believe “the movie and television industries are pretty much run by Jews,” down from nearly 50% in 1964. The Anti-Defamation League, which released the poll results last month, sees in these numbers a victory against stereotyping. Actually, it just shows how dumb America has gotten. Jews totally run Hollywood.

How deeply Jewish is Hollywood? When the studio chiefs took out a full-page ad in the Los Angeles Times a few weeks ago to demand that the Screen Actors Guild settle its contract, the open letter was signed by: News Corp. President Peter Chernin (Jewish), Paramount Pictures Chairman Brad Grey (Jewish), Walt Disney Co. Chief Executive Robert Iger (Jewish), Sony Pictures Chairman Michael Lynton (surprise, Dutch Jew), Warner Bros. Chairman Barry Meyer (Jewish), CBS Corp. Chief Executive Leslie Moonves (so Jewish his great uncle was the first prime minister of Israel), MGM Chairman Harry Sloan (Jewish) and NBC Universal Chief Executive Jeff Zucker (mega-Jewish). If either of the Weinstein brothers had signed, this group would have not only the power to shut down all film production but to form a minyan with enough Fiji water on hand to fill a mikvah.

The person they were yelling at in that ad was SAG President Alan Rosenberg (take a guess). The scathing rebuttal to the ad was written by entertainment super-agent Ari Emanuel (Jew with Israeli parents) on the Huffington Post, which is owned by Arianna Huffington (not Jewish and has never worked in Hollywood.)

The Jews are so dominant, I had to scour the trades to come up with six Gentiles in high positions at entertainment companies. When I called them to talk about their incredible advancement, five of them refused to talk to me, apparently out of fear of insulting Jews. The sixth, AMC President Charlie Collier, turned out to be Jewish.

  19. Another lefty gay child molester:

    horrific Berlin pedophile abuse scandal

Dr. Helmut Kentler was a star amid the loosening of sexual morals that started in the 60s. A psychologist and sex educator, he lived as an openly gay man and would even by today’s standards be seen as a progressive.

Kentler, in a shocking move that was supported by Berlin’s left-wing senate of the early 1970s, decided to house these boys with known pedophiles, well aware that these predators would have sex with them. That didn’t bother Kentler, who argues as recently as 1999 that pedophilia “can have a very positive effect on a boy’s personality development.” In a parliamentary hearing in 1981, he claimed that pedophiles made for great foster fathers, as they “fell in love with” the boys. The practice was allowed to continue until 2003.

    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/new-zealand/2020/08/reporting-of-potential-terrorist-financing-more-than-doubled-since-christchurch-shootings.html

Police said people are far more vigilant when it comes to potential terrorist acts after the Christchurch attacks, which killed 51 and injured scores more.

The organisation has also ramped up its counter-terrorism capabilities, but is keeping the details of that improvement secret.

The Financial Intelligence Unit looks into suspicious financial activity, when reports are sent through by banks, lawyers, accountants and other entities with access to transactions.

The Financial Intelligence Unit is also part of the Egmont Group, which is an international organisation which monitors terrorist funding and money laundering.

It has members in almost every country, and police are able to share information with other jurisdictions through an encrypted network.

    • Brenton is not part of any group or organisation. He is simply a left wing environmentalist, concerned about the effect of population growth and capitalism, on the planet.

Why did they link his actions to terrorism funding?

The biggest financiers of real terrorism are the USA and Saudi Arabia.

      8

      1

      • “terrorism funding”
It is all in the “had to be censured manifesto”. 🙁

Would not be anything to do with UN Global Migration Pact, granting sovereignty in part over New Zealand to the UN in how to cope with the migratory flows? 🙁

USA financing the UN will be having a terrorist effect in NZ, regarding in the near future of migratory flow.

        2

        0

    • I was not able to read Tarrants manifesto thus do not know if this was terrorism or just a wanton act by a person with a grievance against that group. At three score years plus ten, plus a few more, I am sure I can determine what I wish to read without a state official being told what to enable or otherwise. for me. Censorship of a document leading to an event that the government allowed to cause such disruption in our country remains an issue that will be remembered at election time.

It cannot be used to justify additional expenditure on terrorism. The Government needs to justify such matters, or used to before democracy was subverted for ideology.

  22. About time.

Law and order: National pledges to ban gang patches in public, new powers to detain young offenders

National has rolled out its crime and justice election promises, pledging to bring in a new suite of rules for young serious offenders, banning all gang insignia in public places and provide support for newly released prisoners to move away from where they committed their crime.
    https://www.tvnz.co.nz/one-news/new-zealand/law-and-order-national-pledges-ban-gang-patches-in-public-new-powers-detain-young-offenders?auto=6180004903001

“Our policy is simple: victims should get justice and criminals should be held accountable for the harm they cause, while also being rehabilitated into contributing members of our society,” National leader Judith Collins said.

Part of the promised policy was setting a target for sexual violence offences to be dealt with within a year, introduce a new category of young serious offenders to implement a “targeted approach early-on to stop young people spiralling into a lifetime of crime” and change the victim notification register to be an opt-out, rather than opt-in system.

The young serious offender category would give Oranga Tamariki and police powers to detain the young person.

    • If banning gang patches means banning Maori gang patches, then National runs the risk of being perceived as “anti-Maori”.

The way to deal to the gangs is to go after the prospects and the environments that encourage boys’ drift towards gang membership. Eliminate the prospects, and the gangs will follow.

It’s a huge problem. How do you eat the elephant in the room?

  23. ACT’s proposal to lower benefits ‘out of touch with reality’, says Auckland Action Against Poverty
    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/2020/08/act-s-proposal-to-lower-benefits-out-of-touch-with-reality-says-auckland-action-against-poverty.html

In an interview with Newshub Nation on Saturday Brooke van Velden said high paid public sector workers on “over-inflated wages” and beneficiaries would take pay cuts under ACT in order to lower debt for New Zealand post-COVID.

The highest jobseeker benefit rate one person can receive is $375.17 per week before other allowances like rental support and the Winter Energy Payment, but this is only for sole parents. In February the national median weekly rent was $515 per week.

As well as lowering benefits back to pre-COVID-19 levels, ACT would reinstall 90-day trials for businesses, stop minimum wage increases for three years, put interest back on student loans, scrap Kiwisaver subsidies and abolish the Winter Energy Payment.

  25. Why is Ardern allowing flights into NZ from the Covid hot spot of Melbourne? Surely flights directly from Victoria should be banned from crossing the NZ border until they get their outbreak under control. It’s asking for trouble.

Judith Collins thinks the Government is sending “mixed messages” by talking about a Cook Islands travel bubble while asking Kiwis to prepare for a second COVID-19 wave – but Jacinda Ardern says it’s “fairly straight forward”.

“I want her to answer why we’re doing this at the moment and talking about it when we’re being promised that she’s got 100 percent success rate in her quarantining,” Collins said on Tuesday. “I’m saying very clearly we have mixed messages out of the Government over the last few days.”

    https://www.tvnz.co.nz/one-news/new-zealand/mongrel-mob-members-associates-arrested-after-police-seize-1-6m-in-assets-during-raids

In a statement, police said $1.6 million of assets were seized during the raids.

Assets restrained include four houses, vehicles and motorbikes as well as approximately $110,000 cash. Police also reported finding 1.5 kilograms of cannabis, cash and seven firearms.

The search warrants came after a year’s work by the region’s organised crime unit.

Five men and one woman were charged with offences, including possession of firearms, possession of cannabis for supply and participation in an organised criminal group.

Police said further arrests are likely.

Tyrian Purple: The disgusting origins of the colour purple

Purple is a paradox, a contradiction of a colour. Associated since antiquity with regality, luxuriance, and the loftiness of intellectual and spiritual ideals, purple was, for many millennia, chiefly distilled from a dehydrated mucous gland of molluscs that lies just behind the rectum: the bottom of the bottom-feeders.

Given its invertebrate faecal inception, its putrid stench, and its proximity to the colour of corporeal distress, it is surprising that purple emerged as a symbol of worldly might.

Judith Collins tells Aussie media NZ Government is ‘useless’, has achieved ‘almost nothing’
    https://www.tvnz.co.nz/one-news/new-zealand/judith-collins-tells-aussie-media-nz-government-useless-has-achieved-almost-nothing

The task has proved beyond the three New Zealand opposition leaders – Bill English, Simon Bridges and Todd Muller – Ms Ardern has faced so far.

The fourth, Judith Collins, has no doubt she’s the woman to stop the Labour leader in her tracks at the September 19 poll.

According to the Lowy Institute, Ms Ardern is Australia’s favourite politician.

Ms Collins says there’s plenty Australians don’t see about Ms Ardern’s first term.

    Her Government? “Useless. Totally useless.”

    Its achievements? “Almost nothing really.”

Speaking with a conviction that belies prediction markets and pollsters, Ms Collins is adamant of Ms Ardern’s fate on September 19.

“Well, she’s going to lose,” she told AAP.

“It will be an almighty battle. And I don’t kid myself.

“It’s a tough business but you know I only really get interested in causes that look really tough.”

“Look. I’m living in a country where 200,000 people now are on the unemployment benefit,” she says.

“If I was someone facing that sort of unemployment. I wouldn’t be looking for Bambi to be looking after me, I’d be looking for someone like me to make things happen.

“Sorry, Merv? No. Roger Bridge,” he said, when asked if ‘Merv’ is his alter ego. “It wasn’t me.”

If that’s the case it seems somehow Merv got hold of his phone, because Newshub understands Merv’s talkback call came from Roger’s number.

Collins promised National would run a squeaky-clean campaign this election.

Collins said it “wouldn’t be appropriate” for Bridge to offer his resignation to her.

“I’m the leader of the parliamentary wing.”

Collins said the behaviour is not acceptable.

“I’ve made it very plain that it is not acceptable but that is not a matter for me, thank you.”

Director General of Health Dr Ashley Bloomfield says there are four confirmed cases within one family.

One person is in their 50s. They live in South Auckland.

They have returned two positive results. They have no history of international travel.

Six family members who reside in the same household have been tested. Three returned positive results, three negative.

All close contacts are in isolation.

Bloomfield said there would be testing of people working at the borders and in facilities to determine the origin of this case.

      Auckland SuperCity boundaries, level 3

Auckland moves to level 3 restrictions from 12 noon tomorrow. The restrictions will last three days until midnight Friday.

“These three days will give us time to assess the situation, gather information, make sure we have wide-spread contact tracing,” Ardern said.

Aucklanders are asked to stay home to stop the spread. “Act as if you have Covid and the people around you have Covid.”

Under level 3, people are to work from home unless they are essential workers, and stay in their bubbles.

Bars and restaurants will have to close, and restrictions come in place for funerals and weddings.

She said they have about six or seven stores in the Auckland region that close at midnight but they closed them around 10pm, or as soon as they could manage it.
“Just to manage behaviour and keep our team safe.”

Seems like the “Karens” abound, and will rule the roost tomorrow.

Blockades go up.? Will Hone be heading into Auckland for his supplies, and breakfast at his sisters.?
Depends on who is running those blockades. 🙁

  51. So a scenario was published this Tuesday. hmmmm

Up until August 16, Ardern can choose to delay the election until November if alert levels change significantly and affect election preparations.

After this, the Electoral Commission says it would need to assess how many people were affected and whether it could provide voting services to them another way.

If the outbreak is bad enough, the Chief Electoral Officer has the emergency power to delay election day voting for up to seven days at a time.

The plannings around level 2 or 3 or 4 and the electoral commission is prepared.

Funny that commission never goes after certain parties that are in breach or their laws & regulations in past elections.
And now they are making all the noise of being prepared, ….. is that to optimize a certain party?

  52. Now the students are becoming worried about getting CoVid 🙁
Like just after having a good gripe with the police, and doing knees, with protesting BLM, it would seem.

The protests come as polls have shown that the majority of students prefer in-person classes over online courses, but do not trust their universities to protect students if they reopen for the fall.

A College Pulse poll found that 52 percent of students do not trust schools’ ability to facilitate their safe return to campus.

In April — when much was still unknown about the lethality of COVID-19 — polls showed that up to 90 percent of college students considered online learning “worse or much worse” than conventional, in-person classes.

Soon you can just go out the fields and harvest the lettuces, cabbages, pumpkins, picking up spuds, etc… and give a break to the hard working immigrant, that is if you want food to eat.

Press Release: New Zealand National Party
Leader of the Opposition Judith Collins is calling on New Zealanders to follow the advice of health officials and do their part to stamp out the latest case of Covid-19 community transmission.

“This will come as a shock to all New Zealanders who believed what we had been told – that we had got on top of this virus. It is disappointing that it is once again in our community.” Ms Collins says.

“A lot of work will need to be done over the coming days to figure out exactly what this latest case of community transmission will mean for the country, and I urge all New Zealanders to follow the hygiene protocols that saw us do such a great job of dealing with the first wave of Covid-19.

“New Zealanders can be assured that National will be seeking an explanation and clear answers about the situation we now find ourselves in.”

In light of the Covid-19 restrictions that will be come into force on Wednesday, all National Party campaign events planned for tomorrow will not be going ahead.

ACT: Statement On Covid-19 Community Transmission
    Tuesday, 11 August 2020, 11:32 pm
    Press Release: ACT New Zealand
“Tonight’s news is not what anyone hoped for,” says ACT Leader David Seymour.

“There will be time enough to ask why this has happened, but right now the goal is to get on top of it before there is loss of life or further loss of livelihoods.

“As with the last lockdown, we all need to do the right thing to beat the virus as quickly as possible.

“We also need the Government to play an effective, transparent and competent role. It must be 100 percent open and transparent about all of the data, the options and the decision-making process.

“We have to hope that the Government has made real progress in its preparedness to test and trace. We cannot afford for the initial three days to turn into a lockdown without end.

“As with the previous lockdown, ACT will aim to play a consistent and constructive role as an opposition party. We will offer constructive criticism where necessary and make helpful suggestions where possible. We will also make sure to ask the questions that need to be asked.”

  54. 11.00pm: Mt Albert Primary School link to new Covid cases
Students’ parents and staff at Mt Albert Primary School have been sent an email this evening from the Auckland Regional Public Health Service headed “Covid-19 case in the Mt Albert Primary School community and temporary school closure”.

In the email, viewed by the Spinoff, they are informed that a child at the school “lives in a household where a number of people have been confirmed with Covid-19”.

The child has been tested and results are awaited. The school will close to all for at least 72 hours. A decision will follow on “if there has been any exposure to Covid-19 at the school” and whether further testing of students and staff is required.
