  1. Judith is really upsetting the loony lefties

From Neale Jones – a man that is such an amazing and astute political operative that he was Chief of Staff for Andrew Little when Andrew established himself for ever as “Angry Andy” – you know that Judith is really starting to eat into their minds of the lunatic left when just about every tweet from the totally tribal leftard Mr Jones is spreading dirty political lies about Judith.

His message is “Don’t question the great patriotic leader during the left’s manufactured crisis – and Judith therefore is “Collins Woman Bad”.

He was a pathetic failure as Angry Andy’s Chief of Staff, he oversaw political omnishambles as Covid Cindy’s CoS for 18 months and now he spends all his time tweeting like Donald Trump.

Keep it up Judith, you are really upsetting Neale, he’s shivering to his red jelly core

Illustrating the crass stupidity of the way socialists think

Here’s one I particularly like – it translates to “It’s OK to break any law you like if you are from the Labour party. But more powerfully it really illustrates how incredibly stupid socialist are.

Mr Jones seems only able to handle two ideas at a time, in this case he could only managed to think the choice was:
    – Act like a dictator from a 3rd world banana republic and completely ignore the rule of law,
    Or
    – Allow Covid to run unabated through communities

Any adult, after about 20 seconds of thought would realise that very little in life is black and white the way that Libtards think. There was of course, the option to take up the offer made by Simon Bridges to speedily pass legislation to ensure the lockdown was legal – in a bipartisan way.

But of course Covid Cindy is so divisive and toxic, that she can’t work with any other party in the national interest.

Kind of like Neale Jones 😊

      • Or angry Andrew.
Recently I heard a lefty talking about Piggy Muldoon, I guess that person was using free speech.
Would the left object to Megan Woods being called Miss Piggy ?
        Someone please let me know.

  2. Ex-Trump adviser Steve Bannon charged with fraud over border wall scheme

President Donald Trump’s former chief strategist, Steve Bannon, and three associates were arrested overnight on charges they ripped off donors to an online fundraising effort to build a privately funded southern border wall, making him the latest in a long list of Trump allies to be charged with a crime.
    https://www.tvnz.co.nz/one-news/world/ex-trump-adviser-steve-bannon-charged-fraud-over-border-wall-scheme?auto=6183029546001

White House spokeswoman Kayleigh McEnany also weighed in, saying Trump “has not been involved with Steve Bannon since the campaign and the early part of the Administration, and he does not know the people involved with this project.”

According to the indictment, the defendants used fake invoices and sham vendor arrangements to try to hide their efforts. Under the arrangement, Bannon and his co-defendants allegedly paid Kolfage US$100,000 up front and an additional US$20,000 monthly. Kolfag claimed he was not paid.

      • Yes, I like Steve Bannon for his insights but clearly Trump saw something in him he didn’t like and got rid of him years ago.

  3. The Maori fun police are taking control of Auckland.

Auckland volcanic cones to close unless fireworks banned
    7:37 pm on 20 August 2020
The gates to the 14 Auckland volcanic cones will remain closed during Guy Fawkes unless the government move to ban the public sale of fireworks, the Tūpuna Maunga Authority say

The Governance and Administration Select Committee has recommended there be no limitations placed on the public sale of fireworks.

The Tūpuna Maunga Authority oppose this decision due to the damage caused to the maunga previously from fires sparked by fireworks.

“The select committee had a responsibility here to put measures in place that would take fireworks out of the hands of those who aren’t capable of using them sensibly, while still allowing the public to enjoy controlled public fireworks displays. It’s extremely disappointing they did not do that,” the authority’s chair, Paul Majurey, said.

The authority has already banned fireworks on the 14 maunga it manages in Tāmaki Makaurau to prevent the “significant harm to these iconic taonga” that fireworks fires create.

  4. For those of you that don’t read Stuff there is an out of touch opinion piece today, penned by a Josia Banbury, headed “Why is National struggling to convince voters?”. He says that “Judith Collins doesn’t fit well with the times”, I thought, no she doesn’t she isn’t a Socialist. He says “politicians of the right don’t have much chance of electoral success. I thought, that must explain why our right wing party ACT is polling so well then. At that point I gave up reading this rubbish, obviously written by a Labour voter who happens to work or have an in with Stuff. What saddened me was it was listed as to top “ most popular.” I hope this guy remembers this article come polling day.

  5. Coronavirus: Put arrivals in Airbnbs, not Government-run hotels – ACT
    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/2020/08/coronavirus-put-arrivals-in-airbnbs-not-government-run-hotels-act.html

Party leader David Seymour announced the COVID-19 policy at Parliament on Thursday afternoon, saying New Zealand should model itself on Taiwan.

In Taiwan, new arrivals can quarantine at hotels, Airbnbs, or a private home, but are electronically monitored and face steep penalties for breaches.

Seymour said that approach was far superior to New Zealand’s “prohibitively expensive and overly disruptive” strategy which required people to stay in a Government-run hotel for 14 days.

“The Government’s job is to set clear rules of the game for isolation, and if you break those rules, then you can finish your 14 days in Mt Eden [prison],” he said.

“And I don’t mean the nice new remand centre – I mean the old one they closed 30 years ago.”

People could be monitored using GPS on smartphones, as in Taiwan, Seymour said. Rule-breakers would be subject to fines “well into the thousands”, as well as the threat of imprisonment.

  6. Coronavirus: Chinese mining company claims to have immunised staff in PNG
    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/world/2020/08/coronavirus-chinese-mining-company-claims-to-have-immunised-staff-in-png.html

A statement from the company declared 48 employees had been vaccinated with “SARS-CoV-2 vaccine” on August 10.

The statement warned that any COVID testing of its employees within a week of the claimed vaccination “may show positive results” due to antibodies produced in the recipient’s body.

The Chinese government has given the green light for two potential vaccines to be trialled by state-owned firms with employees overseas, and another to be trialled by the nation’s military.

  7. Putin critic Alexei Navalny in intensive care after suspected poisoning
    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/world/2020/08/putin-critic-alexei-navalny-in-intensive-care-after-suspected-poisoning.html

Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny was fighting for his life in a Siberian hospital on Thursday after drinking tea that allies said they believe was laced with poison.

Navalny, a fierce critic of President Vladimir Putin and his lieutenants, began feeling ill on a plane to Moscow on Thursday morning after drinking tea at an airport cafe in the Siberian city of Tomsk.

Kira Yarmysh, his spokeswoman, said he was in intensive care in a serious but stable condition, and on an artificial lung ventilator in a hospital in the city, about 2200 km (1370 miles) east of the Russian capital.

I have zero interest in racist thug vigilantes claiming to be helping “their people” and if stopped I will be treating them with the contempt they deserve. I will file a full report from a licensed establishment this arvo. But wait, there’s more – say no to the ho!

  11. You know, a few years ago I was in conversation with my eldest daughter about the global economy, predominantly discussing Greece and Venezuela and how those countries could be so ruined after being so rich, after many arguments and discussions we both agreed it came down to the failure of socialist governments and the fact that a significant proportion of the respective population in both countries accepted and liked free stuff, low retirement age and government hand outs and support and blindly followed government spin and lies… well it seems good old NZ might be heading down the same track.. those that do not learn from history are bound to repeat it!

  12. So the Govt. PR machine is still trying to cover the rear end of the incompetent. Sir Brian Roche ( the co head of the latest working group) is saying NZ is ” the envy of the world” re the virus issue. A more accurate assessment would be we are becoming the laughing stock of the thinkers around the world. Not only did the PM do her little dance thinking she had solved the issue and eliminated the virus but now reality has hit with more cases and the Govt. has been shown to not know what is going on. They are still believing they can eliminate the virus —miracle workers when you consider no other coronavirus has been eliminated.

Chippy is quoted as saying he has read the Govts. testing protocol but he has not read the MOH protocol —amazing, there two different protocols ??

The MSM have still not worked out that Trump is “pulling their chain’ re NZ and Ardern has not worked that out ,as well.

    • This Brain Roche is a someone to question about.
He is spread far and wide.
      Perhaps too much so.

He is currently Chairman of NZTA and boy do they make some fuck ups -Licencing, car rego, the Kapiti expressway resurfacing, sub standard materials on the Waikato goat track, and The Transmission gully on the never, never , ever to be finished???
From opening March 2020 before any Covid excuses, it is now out to 2023.
Jumping out the opening date one Quarter per week since then.
      Dismal performance.

He is a director of the Akl City Rail link – over budget and behind schedule

He is a current Director of over 10 currently register NZ companies as well as Govt entities and now riding this lame horse.

Roche was CEO of NZ Post from 2010 for 7 years and after he joined they launched the dreadful paper directories of Localist in a time things were going digital.
They lost a lot of taxpayer money- at least $30 million but the full sum was undisclosed. Possibly over $70 mill.
      That was pretty dumb.
Later on they flogged off the 35% shareholding in Datacom which I would have considered to be a decent asset, unlike the cash hungry Kiwibank.
Instead of aligning a less frequent service as other Post Offices like the UK and Australia did they put up the price to existing mailers to carry a shrinking business. They were at least 4 years too late in reducing delivery days.
It is truly snail mail compared to 30 years ago.
Way to reward you customers (aka suckers)

    • This is the poster that should be juxtapositioned with Ardern, as it is one of the socialist heroes, with an interesting aside at the bottom.

Every shop that stocked the poster was threatened or harassed: in the very fashionable Brown Thomas of Grafton Street, which sold cards and posters in those faraway days, a well-turned out lady bought the entire stock, tore them all to pieces in front of the astonished staff and walked out !
I remember the late Ms. O’Flaherty and Ms. King of Parsons Bookshop on Baggot Street bridge, who were great supporters of my art -as they were of every artist and writer in Dublin – getting really upset at the hostility directed towards the poster, which hung proudly in their front window.
Despite threats to break their windows they refused to take it down and I was so proud every time I passed that little shop run by two most educated, kind and charming Dubliners who devoted their lives to the artists and writers of this city. “

The truth has to be bought out about that.
And how Mao, the Pol Pot, etc.. of recent times, treated people as expendable, in establishing their revolutionary “comradely” world.

  13. These lefties really can spin “positives” out of a disaster.

They cannot accept that Govt shot themselves in the foot by locking down Auckland because of a few extra cases. Politically they would have been much better advised to just carry on and try to trace the origin of the outbreak without locking down and continued on until the original Sept election date. But no, they thought they would be smart and “capitalise ” on the Ardern is a saviour propaganda and ended up having to delay the election –ie. they leg tripped themselves.

But Edwards thinks it is a very smart move which helps the Government and he quotes idiot journalists to backup his position.

  16. This is just great!
Eleven new cases in Auckland today. I wonder if this will give the government an excuse to extend the Level 3 lockdown in Auckland beyond the original deadline of the 26th of August.
It would be a real pain if it was extended for another 2 weeks.

I wish I could apply for the wage subsidy, but I cannot definitely say that my drop in translation orders has been due solely to Covid-19. I suspect that it might be due to the recession in Japan, but I can’t say for sure. It is not honorable to apply for assistance when there are others so much worse off and for far clearer and provable reasons.

I will ride out the drought as I usually do. I have savings and some other income sources. Life goes on.

    • I’ve often wondered whether there’s an historic angle to Maori indifference to the suffering & survival of their youngest tamariki. Could it have it’s origins in the 19th century when “in 1886, while 14% of non-Māori children died before their 15th birthday, 51% of Māori children were likely to die between birth and 15 years.”

      https://teara.govt.nz/en/graph/30198/maori-and-non-maori-child-mortality-rates

It’s long been my observation that in Maoridom your worth increases with age. Therefore at birth survival is considered uncertain & not worth time & resources to protect. In any case replacement is easy. As the baby becomes a toddler & inches towards adulthood their value as a warrior or breeder slowly develops eventually culminating as an elder, the fount of knowledge for the iwi.

I’d be interested in other commenters’ thoughts.

        • The comments of the late Stanley Milgram suggest that Maori have a predisposition to subjugate themselves to the collective iwi or to the all-encompassing State.

        • “A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they shall never sit in.”
This proverb is from Greece. … The saying that the greatness of a society is achieved when old men plant trees whose shade they may not make use of… is indicative of the unselfish character of the society.

Think of the sapling child as the tree of the future.
Perhaps Maori society is selfish at its core.

          • …..”Perhaps Maori society is selfish at its core”……

Quite possible Odakyu-sen but I would leaven that judgement a little:

            1) Maori society was tribal. Within the tribe leadership was largely hereditary, somewhat autocratic & definitely run as a gerontocracy.

            2) Formal education didn’t exist. Kids up until the age of about eight ran free from restraint picking up whatever knowledge was on offer from parents & older siblings. They weren’t beaten or mistreated. That was part of the package deal offered by the missionaries who believed in total compliance from kids who had the devil thrashed out of them. The point I make is that although Maori were incredibly cruel to slaves & members of opposing iwi their children led relatively carefree lives. This had little to do with kindness but represented their lack of worth to the tribe as a whole.

It is that lack of value that’s behind the killings & bashings of today.

    • Context is needed.
What proportion do the 10,905 homeowners make up of the total?
Are they evenly distributed throughout the country or are they concentrated in major centers or in the provinces?
What is the age distribution of these homeowners? Are they “the young first-time-buyers”?
What is the average size of the housing loan? Are we talking about mostly the bottom end of the market or is the distribution more uniform than that?

Someone needs to take a pickaxe to the Reserve Bank and really start to mine through their data.

    The Warriors will win every game;
    Kelvin will be freed up to write Great Plays that will outlast Shakespeare;

  21. What an absolute disgrace the DNC are.

Convicted Rapist, Torturer and Killer Who Squeezed Her Victim’s Testicles with Pliers Speaks at DNC as “Impactful Community Leader”

Before receiving accolades for her work as an “impactful community leader,” Donna Hylton and her gang of prostitutes had drugged real estate broker Thomas Vigliarolo, brought him to their Harlem apartment, and subjected him to a three week torture session which included starvation, beatings, burnings, and various forms of sexual torture leading to a gruesome murder. Hylton had raped Vigliarolo with a three-foot metal rod, later laughing it off, quipping “he was a homo anyway.”

  23. Today, I ate my lunch outside.
A fellow worker rushed up to me and let loose on what he heard about Trump on the news and how Trump says the Army are going to be let loose on NZ society and blah, blah, blah…
I waited for him to calm down and regain his composure.
I said nothing for a few minutes as he intermittently blurted out MSM diatribe, in an attempt, to justify his rant.
Eventually, I asked him, “Have you heard of the Worldometer?”
    He said, “Nah, what’s that?”
I took out my phone and showed him the site and brought up NZ’s stats on the amount of deaths and cases of CV-19.
He said, “Oh yeah, that’s about right, those numbers fit what we’ve been told.”
I then showed him Uganda’s stats and death numbers. Silence
I then showed him Cambodia’s numbers. Silence

    I think I broke him.

  24. And we think we have issues with face masks, but talk about taking the dog for a walk.

Governor Janet Mills’ decree states that “front-of-house staff in restaurants who choose to wear face shields must now wear them upside down so that they are attached at the collar instead of the forehead, so that their breath is directed up, not down,” reports Maine Public Radio.

Gov Janet Mills [of Maine] says – servers must now wear face shields upside down so that their breath is directed up, not down. Yes she wants you to wear a dog cone…

    • I watched a clip on Youtube a few nights back. Can’t recall exactly who put it up.
What did grab my attention though, was a voiceover of Donald Trump saying that
the military were ready to roll out a vaccine for coronavirus. The military.
The commentator then opined that either Trump had been ‘got to’ by the Deep State,
or ,that he had been a player all along. This has been worrying me.
Am I a conspiracy theorist? No. A conspiracy realist. Ordo Ab Chao.
      Novus Ordo Seclorum.

        • That is what concerns me BN. Trump is not a politician, but he is a very astute and successful businessman. He is able to sell a “product’. Is that an America, where you can achieve your dreams, or will it be an
America that is ready and primed to be sold to the highest bidder?
I don’t know. Time will tell.
