  1. White New Zealanders are much more likely to get a new, more generous welfare payment introduced in response to Covid-19.

The Government was warned that it was creating a “two-tier” welfare system which could potentially worsen racial inequality when it introduced the higher, tax-free, more accessible benefit in May.

    https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=12360423

What the headline should say is that working people get preference.
Actually no one personally got this benefit. The company got a subsidy for the wages it paid to its employees during the lockdown.

Why can’t these people print the facts properly.

    • The beneficiary advocate says beneficiaries are being “ripped off” because another person, out of work due the the governments response to the virus, is getting a little more in assistance than the beneficiary.

I get to the point, reasonably frequently, when I hear yet another beneficiary whinging about what they receive from the working taxpayer to support the beneficiary and their dependents. As a taxpayer, I find the weekly struggle to cover living costs to house and feed my family is more than enough without being required to pay tax to also cover the living costs of others. Yes it is tough to be a beneficiary. Not always easy being a taxpayer either.

  2. Gabriel over at theBFD got told off by Juana for calling out Slater on his breaking 4 or 5 of their rules by asking a commenter if he was stupid during a discussion of their website slowdown the say is due to a WordPress upgrade.

Slater should work on his anger management issues and Juana on her reading comprehension. This isn’t the first time I’ve seen Slater trash his readers.
    Very poor customer relations.

    • I have found the pages don’t load at all on some occassions. Has been very bad lately..
I think he {the commentator ahead of Gabriel} touched a nerve, since the BFD site is actually running poorly – and even a very neutral observation like that on performance caused Slater to go Full Retard.
SB then tries to defend it as ‘unconstructive comments’ but she also wanted to step in and state that Slater is not the founder of the BFD Blog.
Slater is actually meant to be bankrupt, and he lost WhaleOil in a court ruling….I note he took a long time before he even openly appeared on the BFD as himself.
In theory, he wouldn’t want to be immediately founding, or making money from that Blog, or running it, since it is WhaleOil 2.0 in all but name.
It surely does seem to be very revenue focused, unlike KB or YSB.
Also – as with then Whale Oil exposures, Slaters BFD content {specifically-as there are good writers on the BFD} appears to still be a shill content from time to time. Perplexing in his Bridges/English National derangement, and Winston-corpse-cuddling.
Either that, or Slater is fucking retarded, twisted, and of no more relevance nor politically connected anymore.
Or potentially all of the above…..
Ah, how the might hath fallen.

    • It was absolutely awful.

As far as I can tell, Covid Cindy has one approach to managing Mike’s questions

“I’m not over the detail of that issue, I’d like a little time to dig in to that”

Mike wound up the interview with “Right, we’ll come back to those questions next week when you’ve found out what’s going on”

It is an effective way to avoid answering embarrassing questions, the sheeple don’t seem to mind and the Mad Queen’s Dothraki Twitter trolls treat every single question by Mike as proof that he wants everybody to die of Covid or that he’s an absolutely arsewipe.

    • And just as this news emerges:
      file:///C:/Users/DELL/Downloads/sr611.pdf

We document four facts about the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide relevant
for those studying the impact of non-pharmaceutical interventions (NPIs) on
COVID-19 transmission. First: across all countries and U.S. states that we
study, the growth rates of daily deaths from COVID-19 fell from a wide range of
initially high levels to levels close to zero within 20-30 days after each region
experienced 25 cumulative deaths. Second: after this initial period, growth
rates of daily deaths have hovered around zero or below everywhere in the
world. Third: the cross section standard deviation of growth rates of daily
deaths across locations fell very rapidly in the first 10 days of the epidemic
and has remained at a relatively low level since then. Fourth: when interpreted through a range of epidemiological models, these first three facts about
the growth rate of COVID deaths imply that both the effective reproduction
numbers and transmission rates of COVID-19 fell from widely dispersed initial levels and the effective reproduction number has hovered around one after
the first 30 days of the epidemic virtually everywhere in the world. We argue
that failing to account for these four stylized facts may result in overstating
the importance of policy mandated NPIs for shaping the progression of this
      deadly pandemic.

        • A physicist.
We have a doctor of history running quarantine, and a doctor of philosophy running the health ministry during the first lock down, so why not this bloke without directly relevant qualifications doing our pandemic modelling?
After all, all you need to do is punch the numbers into a (broken) Imperial College of London models, pull some levers, focus of the most insane end of the spectrum, and Hey-Presto – You have numbers exciting enough for the Blessed Mother of the Pestilence to run to the media & scare the shit out of the nation!
While many people have long since seen through the fear-porn, and the unhelpful media focus on fat & old people on ventilators in Milan or New York all those months ago…..poor old Hendy has nothing to gain by revising his models.
He will try and stay relevant and hold the ear of media and government as long as he can.
It’s not like “Opps….I got that one really wrong. Soz ’bout dat” is going to open any doors for him!

    • Mask up, completely, to combat the CCP virus, which has systemically reached deep into a stasi style of policing.

Although this was news link is old, a week ago, today’s red radio has bought up more this morning about the NZ police working on global recognition, mentioning whether it could/should gain access to “internal affairs” department for the likes of passport photos, and drivers licences as a background data base, so it could be more workable having over 100,000+ in its data set up.
      https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/national/423893/global-facial-recognition-company-working-closely-with-nz-govt

      https://thespinoff.co.nz/society/25-08-2020/facial-recognition-technology-is-here-new-zealands-law-is-nowhere-near-ready/

After all as Ardern at the “truth pulpit” says, “consider we all have CCP virus”, and so any police-man is rotten with it, and so it looks like, and being structurally and systemically. 🙁

Can the police ask or demand that you remove your mask, if you tender a drivers licence into their virus affected hands, so they can see & compare to the digital photo of you?

      12

      0

    • And now we have those modelling their mask as a fashion item! It’s going to get nasty out there for anyone who won’t play the game. 😷

The cop talking about wearing masks on public transport said anyone who has a medical condition that would prevent them wearing a mask will need to provide written medical proof.

      Show your papers please! 👮

      11

      0

      • Just keep a Doctors note, like how they write a prescription, that only a chemist can decipher. 🙂

The cop demanding medical proof, and there is no law!, only a ‘truth “pulpittry” ‘ that demands it.

Carry a medical scree like book that will take a morning to read, with all the long names, and doodles of long names, allergens, allergies, etc.. etc… and keep asking/pressuring the cop if he understands it, in full.

The police are obviously re interpreting the law. 🙁
Then set out to inconvenience people, to flex their powder (puff) power & control.

  6. Hang on, preventable disease that could be eliminated. Wouldn’t this require a Cindy lockdown for the good of society for something that could actually be eliminated? //

Rheumatic fever robs career of promising young rugby player as NZ battles to rid the preventable disease

    https://www.tvnz.co.nz/one-news/new-zealand/rheumatic-fever-robs-career-promising-young-rugby-player-nz-battles-rid-preventable-disease?auto=6185982714001

Rheumatic fever thrives in cold, damp and overcrowded houses. It disproportionately affects Māori and Pacific children aged four to 19 years old, especially if they have other family members who have had it.

Mr Johnson said his house was warm and clean, and he most probably got rheumatic fever from strep throat.

If the strep throat is treated quickly, then it most likely won’t turn into acute rheumatic fever.

The contrarian Italian parliamentarian Vittorio Sgarbi, who is also the mayor of Sutri, has been a vocal critic of mask-wearing and other restrictions imposed by the Italian government to address the coronavirus.
Mr. Sgarbi announced Saturday that in Sutri “anyone found wearing a face mask without need will be fined,” noting that there are no cases of coronavirus infection in the city.”

And South Islanders are wearing masks on public transport….because?

  9. Lazy thinkers love the “X directly causes Y” relationship. It’s easy to sell to the masses, half of whom are of below-average intelligence.

In reality, “X creates conditions that make it far more likely for A, B, C, etc. to act and interact, which greatly increases the likelihood of outcome Y.”

Covid in and of itself probably doesn’t do the killing so much as hang the red light in the front window and hold the door open for pneumonia and other conditions to come in.

  10. A new dump opens up in the Wairarapa and charges no fees. 🙂

the land is South Wairarapa District Council (SWDC) territory.

The council however believed it was the New Zealand Transport Agency’s job, because of where the load was dumped.

The agency’s communications manager Jasmine Sullivan said it was outside of their boundary and “probably part of the river, managed by either Greater Wellington Regional Council (GWRC) or South Wairarapa District Council”.

GWRC spokesperson Matthew O’Driscoll told the Times-Age if the furniture had been dumped a little bit closer to the river it would have been something they would have to investigate.

“Generally, local councils like Carterton or South Wairarapa look after rubbish.

“Greater Wellington would only be involved if there were serious environmental risks that needed investigating.”

The bridge borders Carterton and Greytown, but Carterton District Council (CDC) said the dumped furniture was “actually on the South Wairarapa side of the bridge so it would fall under South Wairarapa District Council”.

    • They do know the precise boundaries of where every ratepayer lives so the land tax can be applied. What a bunch of buck shovelers. If someone built some edifice there the answer would be figured out smartly and an account for building consent or a failure to comply notice emailed very promptly. That no one wants to collect the scumbag fly dumpers leavings is understandable especially if the responsible members of the community are carefully watching what the rates taken are actually used for.

    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/2020/08/we-will-always-fix-it-jacinda-ardern-s-promise-to-nz-over-covid-19-mistakes.html

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern says she will “never” shy away from admitting when the Government has screwed up.

At the weekend the Government’s official Unite Against COVID-19 social media channels and website urged everyone in south and west Auckland to get a test, whether they had symptoms or not.

“This is a stressful enough situation for New Zealand without having that added to it,” Ardern told The AM Show on Monday, apologising for the mistake which saw thousands of Aucklanders jump in their cars and queue for tests.

“When we set out a rule, when we make an ask, we need everyone to play their part as well. It goes both ways.”

The New Zealand stock exchange (NZX) website has gone down again in what appears to be the latest disruption caused by cyber attackers.

On Friday, the Government Communications Security Bureau (GCSB) was directed to help the NZX with the attacks amid reports a crime syndicate was demanding Bitcoin payments.

In an appearance on The AM Show on Monday, Rush Digital founder Danu Abeysuriya told host Ryan Bridge the attackers can be difficult to track.

“Whoever’s doing it has a lot of resources organised – so it could be a really cashed-up criminal gang, which is highly likely, or something more,” he said.

  21. In the context of masking up, and the “mission creep”.
I mentioned about police recognition research. that blew a whiff of news about early this morning. …….
I looked through the RNZ site, but could not find it on their website.

    https://ysb.co.nz/have-your-say-503/#comment-94045

Now this creeps out on the Herald website.

Some of this information is contained in an Official Information Act (OIA) response that police provided to Stuff last year but tried to withhold from RNZ last week until a complaint was made to the Ombudsman.

RNZ made inquiries with other agencies after revealing that the Internal Affairs Department has been – quietly, too – setting up a $20m passport processing system.

Both the department, and the police, are using some of the world’s most powerful facial recognition software, NeoFace, ……..

……. Elsewhere the tender said: “It is mandatory that searching can be conducted dynamically in real-time using multiple fields.”

This appears to fly in the face of a police statement in the December 2019 OIA response ……..
    https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=12360871

  23. What makes someone controversial? When that person goes against the media narrative:

Coronavirus: COVID-19 vaccine a ‘fantasy’ – controversial epidemiologist Simon Thornley

A Kiwi epidemiologist who thinks the country should give up trying to eliminate COVID-19 says we shouldn’t be pinning our hopes on a vaccine.

University of Auckland specialist Simon Thornley, who has long advocated against locking down to stop the virus, says it’s time to accept it’s here to stay and ditch the lockdowns. He praised the few hundred people who at the weekend who gathered in downtown Auckland – mostly without masks – to protest against the level 3 restrictions.

“Even the [World Health Organization] now, Dr David Navarro, is telling New Zealand, ‘Congratulations, you’ve done well – but actually the future is to go Sweden’s way.'”

“Looking at the science, I believe an effective vaccine is a very remote possibility for COVID-19,” said Dr Thornley.

“We know that the world record in terms of vaccine development is four years – that’s with mumps, from the Merck company. We know that most of them take 10 years – they need to be carefully evaluated. These early vaccines that are coming out of Russia I’m very sceptical they’ve been really well tested in long-term studies.”

He said discussions with vaccinologists he knows have led him to be sceptical.

“Hanging out for a vaccine is not an option… a fantasy, in my view.”

Hence his view that we just have to live with it – a view not shared by most of his peers.

“The chances of dying from COVID-19 are very, very strongly age-related… people under the age of 65, most of us working age, schoolchildren, are at extremely low-risk of dying from the virus. People have talked about it being the same order of magnitude of driving in a car 10km, 20km, 30km a day.”

Someone who has the guts to stand up and say it like it is, and then, has the balls to say it in another country.
    Like this. (edited)

“I look at this crowd. I see all the flags of Europe. I see people of every color. I see people of every nation. Every religion. All caring about human dignity, about children’s health. About political freedom. This is the opposite of Nazism.”

“Fifty years ago, my uncle John F. Kennedy came to this city. He came to this land, because Berlin was the frontline against global totalitarianism. And today again, Berlin is frontline against global totalitarianism,”

“Governments love pandemics. They love pandemics for the same reason they love war. Because it gives them the ability to impose controls on the population that the population would otherwise never accept.“

“It’s a mystery to me that all of these big important people like Bill Gates and Tony Fauci have been planning and thinking about this pandemic for decades. And yet, now that it’s here, they don’t seem to know what they are talking about.“

          • So why would the jews want JFK dead?

When he was 28, JFK wrote in his diary that “Hitler will emerge from the hatred that surrounds him now as one of the most significant figures who ever lived,” saying, “He had in him the stuff of which legends are made.”

Starting with when he entered office in 1961, Kennedy was against Israel’s nuclear program. In a personal letter to David Ben-Gurion dated May 18, 1963, Kennedy said that unless American inspectors were granted access to Dimona (Israel’s nuclear site), Israel would be isolated.

Kennedy was dead-set against the CIA, which has been a jewish operation with close ties to the Frankfurt school, saying he wanted to “splinter the CIA into a thousand pieces and scatter it into the winds.”

            • JFK was also ready to take back control of the
issuing of American currency from the Federal Reserve Bank, a non- government entity that was given that power by the traitor President Woodrow Wilson in 1913. Kennedy was a threat to the Rothschild and Rockefeller banking cartel. He had to be removed from office. Permanently.

            • “splinter the CIA into a thousand pieces and scatter it into the winds.”

Exactly what a good politician, Ardenesk like, would say, when looking to disown, & no apology like the past & current Democrat or Labour practice, when Kennedy had a disastrous start when creating an empire, starting with Cuba, that Kennedy had in mind.

Kennedy’s words, then double down to make the CIA more effective with the review, he personally ordered.

          • JFK’s downfall was that he was a womaniser yet power being the greatest aphrodisiac he wasn’t short on opportunity. If being a serial rooter was an offence, over time, few heroes or politicians would have escaped the gallows.

For me it was his war record that defined the man. His father was determined to keep his less than 100% physically able son out of the armed forces but instead JFK used his influence to enter the navy. When PT109 was sliced & diced by a Jap destroyer his actions to save his men were exemplary.

He wasn’t acting, he wasn’t trying to build a political career. He did what was needed & should always be honoured for that.

“We’re going to be laying down a crystal bed. Everyone will be bringing crystals from all around the world. We are going to be unifying them and bringing in this 5th dimensional consciousness,” Christof Melchizedek explained in a video.”

    • God is dead, long live the new God.
There is a lot of empathy for “Black Lives Matter”.

God does nothing for them either, but the academia, guiding the politicians and media will, Promise, as they have studied and understand.

Coronavirus: Aucklanders sent texts with total strangers’ COVID-19 test results
    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/2020/08/coronavirus-aucklanders-sent-texts-with-total-strangers-covid-19-test-results.html

A pair of Aucklanders are furious with the Government after health officials sent them the COVID-19 test results of four complete strangers.

Newshub has seen texts sent to two Auckland citizens – one a 16-year-old girl who hadn’t even taken a coronavirus test – featuring the details and test results of people they didn’t know.

This includes the first name of the person, the date they got tested and an ID code that can be used to access more detailed information.

  29. W.H.O. Flips-Flops from ‘Test Test Test’ to Mass Testing ‘Not Really that Useful’

World Health Organization (W.H.O.) officials did an about-face Thursday on the agency’s Chinese coronavirus testing guidelines, proclaiming that broad-based population tests are “not really that useful” and that the focus of testing should be on people showing symptoms.
