  1. How fitting, after having all the sickly White leftys practice their Maori on us for a week on TV and Radio we can look forward to the healing of “mental awareness week”. Great news.

    • “…having all the sickly White leftys practice their Maori on us for a week on TV and Radio…”

      revtech120,
I would like to make an observeration of these speakers of Te Reo. I don’t think that any of them are native speakers, not even those who self-identify as “Maori.”
      Why do I say that?
Something in my gut tells me that they are all speakers-of-Te-Reo-as-a-second-language. They sure sould like it. To be brutal, they sound like a bunch of gaijin who have been studying Japanese for a couple of years an university.
Their spoken Te Reo “just don’t sound right.” It seems to lack the cadence of that of a true native speaker.

      • ……“just don’t sound right.”……

It doesn’t sound right because, as you rightfully point out, it isn’t. My father learnt Te Reo during WW2 when as a morse operator he was shut up for six weeks at a time , usually on Kaiti Hill in Gisborne. It was something to do but although he ended up a fluent speaker he was the first to admit that he never got the pronunciations 100%. That would have required total immersion in the language & the culture.

He was a cunning old bastard though. We lived alongside Maori on the East Coast until early 1957 but he never let on to anyone that he understood their tongue. Reckoned that he learnt a shitload more of what was going on that way.

  2. Tired of the control and ineptness of dear leader and seriously rattled with what is happening in Victoria. It’s too close to home and doesn’t bode well with comrade Ardern from the same stable as the despicable and rotten Dan Andrews.

  3. Hand is raised. Recovery from the Covid-19 and the economic and social impact generated by the virus, and the governments initial lackadaisical approach to is more important than the daily case number and wear a mask announcements.

Focus on tax and cost reductions and less government impediment, at any level, to business and life is the way forward.

Also getting over the election season promises to use money taken from me.

Would it have entered their minds when they bought the mansion over the bridge, that one day?

    • Call me simplistic if you like but could they not have put in place a temporary sleeve over the damaged part at the weekend which would give them time to be ready to do a permanent fix next weekend outside of peak business and commuting hours.

Or do these people not work weekends and nights?

      • Plenty of pondering going on by engineers…

Harbour Bridge damage expected to have knock-on effect for Auckland traffic as working week looms
        https://www.tvnz.co.nz/one-news/new-zealand/ahead-working-week-effects-damaged-auckland-harbour-bridge-hit-home?auto=6192759222001

The Transport Agency has nine engineers working on the complex task of removing and replacing the damaged strut – an essential load-bearing part of the bridge’s structure.

“The real challenge at the moment is getting the design right so we have to design it make sure that it’s all going to work, then we have to get those designs peer reviewed by independent people, so that’s why it’s going to take a bit of time to do all that,” says Brett Gliddon of New Zealand Transport Agency.

        • ……”“The real challenge at the moment is getting the design right so we have to design it make sure that it’s all going to work”……

I’ve got an idea. Why don’t they make a replica of the beam as it was before it was damaged & use it as a replacement. The fucking thing’s been there for over sixty years & has held together so far.

I note all these “modellers” seem to hang around universities and have never had a real job where you actually have to get it right. Imagine how long a self employed modeller would last.

                • Exactly the case.

50 years ago these guys had worked out how to build roads ..and did it.
They learnt from the next guy and went through apprenticeships and hierarchy and had the stupid knocked out of them on the way up.
                  Roads were solid and reliable.

Now these dickheads go to university, get two degrees, ponder and pontificate ; ignore the people who know what they are doing ; then go on to create a mess.
If anyone questions their shit work they have a crying melt down and you have to explain to the HR fuckwit why you (correctly) called them a ‘sooky wee cum stain that would have been better left on the sheets’.

                  Failings
-Dodgy steel and concrete in the Waikato goat track
-Dreadful surface on the Kapiti goat-track that had to be redone
-Years behind on Transmission gully – massive incompetence
                  – the ‘add a lane’ fiasco south of Manurewa near Takanini has been more than half a decade with no apparent result.

Add in the lack of accountability over the CTV building and we have a generation of sooky shit stains that are all ponce and no solid results.
But hey they got the university prize for ‘including diverse people’

                    • Thanks AP.
The accountability thing annoys the hell out of me.
Eg. The CTV Building- no accountability for 115 dead humans but look at the fines levelled on farmers for minor breaches.

Cut down a tree in Auckland and you could get a $30k fine but Councils are never liable for anything even the leaky homes they sign off on.
Down the road right now a 25 year old house has been completely unclad then will have to be reclad- consuming resources that could have been used to build a new , additional dwelling.
                      It is pretty rotten.

  4. I see the Director General of health has denied entry to the yachties wanting to come down here before cyclone season. This is a really bad thing to do. It will take them more than 2 weeks to get here, they will have no contact with anyone else, when they get here they can be quarantined on their boats at their expense. A lot of these people spend money sorting their boats out, it brings a lot of money in and keeps a lot of people in work. Thanks again Cindy and friends, when do we expect the next plane load of new residents we get the pleasure of paying for from India? Say no to the Ho and ditch the bitch.

    • Foreign yachties say lives at risk from New Zealand’s decision to block entry
      https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/new-zealand/2020/09/foreign-yachties-say-lives-at-risk-from-new-zealand-s-decision-to-block-entry.html

Yachts traditionally headed south to New Zealand each summer. Many conducted refits at yards around the country, and cruised New Zealand’s coastline, visiting towns and cities along the way.

The ocean cruising club was told that maritime border restrictions applied under the current COVID-19 public health response.

The club said lives and property were at risk, but the latest official response revealed a misunderstanding around the logistics of boat travel.

      14

      0

    • This is a terrible decision. If you want a humbling experience, get on a small yacht in the middle of the ocean in a storm.

      15

      • Obviously they are not connected to the right people. I mean, if you’re up there with the hoi poloy you can just roll up via your private jet nudge nudge wink secret handshake and bingo..come on in , no need to quarintine.

        6

        0

    • wg, and the club are calling it so nicely as a misunderstanding around the logistics of boat travel.

If the Director General of Health, can not figure that the yachts, once say tested before, and then arrival, self quarantining in a easily monitored isolated safe anchorage, like Stewart Island, or Great Barrier Island.
More testing and those magical 14 days, or even add another week or two, that is now being said, may not be enough.

They bring are a part of an industry for repairs, over hauls, provisions.

So not immediate danger, but it is too late to be out in the open ocean, when cyclones are moving near you.
That will endanger the crew, maybe setting of countless costly hours of search & rescue.

It appears to be that this is just another form of locking New Zealanders into NZ, no means of possible escape, and to remove hope of that.
Another nail in the NZ coffin.
This seems to be another way of showing how Bloomfield is so risk adverse, that he creates even greater dangers.

      20

      0

      • He isn’t risk adverse there is no risk. Cruisers are people of independent means which makes them rich pricks. He is just quoting from Cindy’s manifesto, there is no logic involved. For God’s sake say no to the Ho.

One of the services cut -ironically – on Friday- the same day the truck clipped the bridge – is reduced ferry services.

  11. The newly-hired vacuum cleaner salesman was sent out to be trained by the old pro. He parked the car and opened the trunk so the younger guy could unload the vacuum cleaner and accessories. The old pro walked up the steps and rang the doorbell while the new guy waited on the bottom step. A woman opened the door and the old pro started his pitch,
“Good morning ma’am I’d like to show you a revolutionary new vacuum cleaner. We would like to demonstrate it by cleaning your drapes, upholstery and floor. You won’t be expected to buy anything.” “You’d be wasting your time”, the woman replied, “ I just bought a new vacuum last week and I’m perfectly satisfied with it.”
The old pro said, “I appreciate your candor, ma’am, and by the way, would you like to get laid.”
At that, the woman slapped his face and slammed the door. The old pro walked down the stairs rubbing his cheek.
“What did you say to that woman?”, the new guy asked.
“I asked her if she’d like to get laid”, the old pro replied, “I always do that.”
“My God, you must get slapped a lot”, the new guy said.
“True”, replied the old pro with a smile, “ but I get laid a lot, too.”

    • Yes the absence of opinion polls is now beginning to look very, very suspicious.

$50m paid to the complicit, lying, whoring MSM looks to be a very good investment indeed.

In the absence of information, the only thing you can do is apply “bad actor” incentives to it and assume that Covid Cindy’s vote is collapsing. Dictator Dan playing out the actions that Covid Cindy will be aiming to take after an election win is making some Kiwis have a think about whether that is a future that they want to live in.

The problem for Labour is that momentum is everything. If there really is a drift away, then Kiwis are nothing if not dedicated trend followers – if the Labour vote is imploding – then this means that it’s likely by election day that Covid Cindy is going to be back at 37.7% of the vote again on election day. But this time there’ll be no Winston to save her bony ass. The down side is that if Labour is collapsing then we’re going to get the Greens back.

  15. As I’m on their emailing list here is the National newsletter from President Goodfellow:

Today, we launched our 2020 Election Campaign – and for the first time ever in our history we did it almost entirely online!

If you missed out on the coverage of today’s Campaign Launch. It was a fun event that really brought through that we are truly the National Party from all ends of the country and representing all New Zealanders.

Politics, at its core, is about people and a shared set of values. As we fight for the future of New Zealand, we couldn’t do what we do without you and I want to thank you for your continued support.

We’re building strong momentum, and with just 27 days to go, we need to keep pushing hard against a Labour Party who wants to tax, spend, and spin their way to government. The media won’t, but we will.

Over 5,000 of you joined us personally online, and tens of thousands more since, to hear from our Leader Judith Collins about National’s plan to restore New Zealand’s prosperity. And Judith absolutely nailed it.

This election couldn’t be clearer. Only National has a real plan to turn around Labour’s recession, grow the economy, invest in critical services Kiwis rely on, and give you back more of what you earn.

Our new advertisements and billboards are going up all around the country, along with hundreds of radio ads, a million pieces of direct mail and hundreds of thousands of new pamplets. And we want to go even further.

Will you help us get our strong message in front of as many Kiwis as possible?

Click here to chip in $30

Click here to chip in $50

Click here to chip in $100

Click here to chip in another amount

Every dollar you contribute will mean you’ve directly helped us reach another voter with our message. Only a National Government, with Judith Collins as Prime Minister, can provide the leadership and experience necessary to rebuild our economy in this time of crisis.

We’re ready to deliver on our promise to secure our border, save jobs, and rebuild our economy.

I hope we can count on your support.

    Regards

    Peter Goodfellow
    President

The AM Show host Duncan Garner has slammed Jacinda Ardern and called for her to address a photo showing her breaking COVID-19 social distancing rules.

On the campaign trail on Thursday, Ardern was in Palmerston North and a photo shows her taking a selfie with members of the public, with no social distancing to be seen.

A spokesperson for Ardern said on Saturday while she asks members of the public to practice social distancing when interacting with them, it’s not always possible.

    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/2020/09/nz-election-2020-national-reveals-plan-to-create-at-least-100-000-tech-jobs.html

The National Party plans to create at least 100,000 technology-focused jobs by investing $1.29 billion over the next decade in high-speed internet, fast-tracked visas and partnering with the private sector.

The most expensive part of National’s plan is upgrading technology infrastructure – $1 billion over 10 years to expand the rollout of the Ultra-Fast Broadband (UFB) and Rural Broadband Initiative (RBI) to get 90 percent of Kiwis connected.

  20. I’ve been looking at the comments on the KB thread about the Otago Medical School intakes with all the quotas for Maori & Pacifika students and other special categories.
My solution —Maori should use the nearly $1 billion they got from the Covid slush fund and set up their own medical school. I’m sure there will be plenty of the rich latte drinking, socialists who will help fund scholarships etc.

In a similar vein, didn’t Robert Mahuata try something similar at Hopo Hopo (sp.?), using Tainui ToW settlement Money?

While given substantial funding on start-up, from memory the enterprise folded when the funds ran out, although apparently no-one was able to find-out where said funds had gone…

      • Yes, funding from the TOW settlement years ago and also the Uni of Waikato threw in $1m towards the ‘Tainui university’ on the hill above Hopu Hopu (between Ngaruawahia and Huntly). It folded not long after. Mahuta was living there for a while. Don’t know what happened to the great brown educational hope after that.

But then again, Robbo has announced the recession is over and NZ economy is going to grow on a bounce of 13%. 😂😂😂 🤡🤡🤡

      • Genuine shit stains resent that remark Comrade Artimus!

BTW In my opinion Bloomfield is guilty of at least two heinous crimes:

        1) The biggest fraud in New Zealand’s history – ie claiming to be able to control or manage a virus at the expense of $NZ 100,000,000,000 (plus the fallout from delayed medical procedures, broken families, mental health and suicides etc etc), and
        2) Performing a medical experiment on a population without their INFORMED consent.

        Any other suggestions

Now we have Shane Jones going on about how he will do everything he can to smash the Greens.

Reading between the lines it seems the Greens must have been the biggest problem.
For once I hope Jones achieves his goal.

Yet Epstein’s pandering to the rich & influential wasn’t what most of us would call ‘crimes against children’. To date it seems that the female participants were over sixteen & in an age where fifteen YOs are at it like rabbits it would only be shocking within a society of religious nuts such as the USA.

The killer is the hypocrisy. Dirty old rich men have sought out young girls since Adam played fullback for the Jews but have always managed to hide their peccadillos & keep a low profile.

  30. Excellent Act! 👍

ACT is making a number of election promises it says will see the rural sector “given the respect it deserves”, including repealing the Zero Carbon Act and the Emissions Trading Scheme.
    https://www.tvnz.co.nz/one-news/new-zealand/act-pledges-respect-farmers-repealing-zero-carbon-if-elected

If elected, ACT said it would repeal the Zero Carbon Act and the Emissions Trading Scheme and replace them with a “no-nonsense” climate change plan that would see New Zealand’s carbon price tied to that of its top five trading partners.

“The [Zero Carbon] law will force us to make significantly deeper emissions cuts than our trading partners and will push economic activity to other countries with lower environmental standards,” Cameron said.

He said Resource Management Act changes, which allowed councils to consider climate change impacts in consenting decisions from December next year, could potentially slow economic growth.

ACT is proposing to replace the RMA so farmers can “go about their business with minimal interference”.

  31. OK, a drop in the bucket over 10 years but this is going to give Ardern something to pick at…

National’s $4 billion fiscal hole has gotten even bigger
    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/2020/09/nz-election-2020-national-s-4-billion-fiscal-hole-has-gotten-even-bigger.html

National has made the same mistake with its capital allowance, that’s the money put aside to build things like schools and hospitals. Goldsmith took his numbers from May’s Budget, giving himself $18.63 billion from next year until 2027.

But in last week’s Pre-Election Fiscal Update (PREFU) the numbers changed, with only $18.542 billion available over that time, leaving National with another shortfall of $88 million.

    2

    0

    • The issue that Notional face is Goldsmith is not at all trained in or had real world experience in Finance.
      From his wiki page
“Goldsmith attended Auckland Grammar School and the University of Auckland.[2] Goldsmith then worked as a press secretary and speech writer for Phil Goff (Labour), Simon Upton (National) and John Banks (then a National MP).[3] In 2000 Goldsmith became a public relations adviser and worked for Tranz Rail and the University of Auckland.[3]
Goldsmith graduated with an MA in history.[2] He has written the biographies of John Banks, Don Brash, William Gallagher, Alan Gibbs and Te Hemara Tauhia as well as a history of taxes, Puketutu Island and a history of the Fletcher Building construction company.”

      Goff and Mr “RMA’ Upton.
      Jeez Wayne.

Not a sausage of formal financial experience or even training.
Basically a history guy like Nearly Dead Rich Prick, Cullen
This leaves Notional exposed just as they were on ‘the gap’

By contrast Bill English had qualifications in Finance plus worked at treasury.
The only one with this combination in a long time- and it shows.
