    • Brought to the proletariat by the liars from the Ministry of Truth.

I see Tova ‘Tokyo Rose’ O’Brien is spreading propaganda far and wide to sway the ignorant to vote for the Mad Queen to retain her crown.

    • Don’t you have this cold shiver running down your spine when skull announces her pork barrel bribes at the daily 1pm party political broadcasts.

It just proves we have the best Government one can buy and this is confirmed by tugger Jones splashing our cash to Maori.

Note to our bloody media … Lake Ohau is not pronounced Lake Oh hoe.

      • Cold shiver is right. The thought of what NZ could be heading into is excruciating at times. We have to ride this rollercoaster until the results and for my own sanity I’ve completely given up listening to the nodding skull and her troop of flying monkeys.

    • The TL:DR 3rd Debate Summary

The loser on the night were the lunatic leftist Twitter trolls. They’d clearly decided that Covid Cindy is such a train wreck on debating that they needed to shout out repeatedly “The emperor is wearing such finely woven clothing that the stupid little boy can’t see them and no, definitely the Emperor is most certainly, assuredly not naked, we’re the experts, we’re here to tell you that it really, really is very fine thread, so fine that it looks like it’s not there, but it is”. Megan Woods was tweeting up a storm, I reckon she was on a pie per tweet piece work scheme.

The debate was noticeably poorer quality. Stuff is after all print media not TV so the production and polish was obviously missing. The moderators did well, especially the bearded twat seeing as he is the moratorium on journalism about Chicken Little Climate change (you know we only print climate alarmism).

As usual, for the bits that can be rehearsed. Covid Cindy was alright – if a bit obviously plastic for my tastes. Best moment for me was the point where Covid Cindy was so flustered that she descended into her officious “If I may” routine – which got a huge grin from Judith as it was obviously something Curia’s focus groups told National that voters hate and so they should try and get her to do it again.

There was waaaaay too much on Chicken Little Climate Alarmism. Survey after survey shows that once people start to go broke, they don’t give a fuck about the environment. Surprisingly Judith wasn’t as nimble this time around. Hostile loony lefty Christchurch audience maybe.

Both were incredibly weak on the recovery. Judith was crap defending the tax cuts when Covid Cindy used her new “Sugar Rush” line. I’d have thought Judith might have been a bit wiser to talk about how all she wants to do is allow people to keep more of their own money – like Seymour is pointing out. For me it was a sign of over-confidence.

Both were weak on the sidebar issue of the CDHB. Judith didn’t prosecute lying Cindy’s promise to fix it from the leaders debate in 2017.

For me it was a sub-par Judith performance but probably shaded Covid Cindy because she offered more substance than the vacuous one did.

The MSM is clearly getting pressure from above regarding value for money for the $50 mill bribe as they are unanimous in acclaiming Cindy the winner despite both the Herald and the Stuff polls showing Judith as a clear winner.

For me it was a tie or a 51:49 victory for Judith.

The big learning for Cindy is that she needs to take advantage of the free practice she can get in Parliament. Having the speaker, Chippy, Robbo and Winnie protecting her has made her weak – she could have learned how to play the game – but she’s too stupid to have used the opportunity. If she gets another three years – she should tell Mallard to stop being such a sexist pig and let her fight her own fights.

  2. A “deluded” child-led approach to teaching is to blame for New Zealand’s declining educational performance, new research says.

The NZ Initiative report, New Zealand’s Education Delusion, says NZ educators are deluded in thinking teachers should let children direct what they want to learn about.

It calls for a much more detailed curriculum specifying what children should learn at each level, and standardised national assessments to ensure they learn those things.

    https://nzinitiative.org.nz/reports-and-media/reports/new-zealands-education-delusion-how-bad-ideas-ruined-a-once-world-leading-school-system

There is a rot at the core of schooling in New Zealand.

The Ministry of Education follows unscientific advice and is in thrall to a flawed philosophy.

Education is awash with debates and dichotomies. Should schooling be about knowledge or personal discovery? Should teachers provide motivation for learning or nurture it intrinsically? Should schools provide freedom now or preparation for freedom as an adult?

For most teachers and parents, answers lie somewhere in the middle. As Education Minister Chris Hipkins said:

Education is a broad church. It’s a wide spectrum with traditionalists at the one end and progressives at the other, all of whom believe their formula works best. The key to the changes we’re making is to work hard to capture the best of each world view and bring the whole spectrum along.

Few could disagree. Progress calls for solutions, not endless battles between extremes. However, Hipkins’ statement overlooks that official policy and ‘research’ in New Zealand is far from ordinary.

Consequently, educational standards have plummeted. Despite a 32% real rise in per-pupil spending since 2001, students have gone from world-leading to decidedly average.

In reading, maths and science students now perform far worse than the previous generation just eighteen years ago. In all three subjects, 15-year-olds have lost the equivalent of between three and six terms’ worth of schooling. Far fewer pupils today perform at the highest levels. Far more lack the most basic proficiency.

    • The rot started with fat guts Lange in the 1980s making himself Minister of Education.

The Education Department has always been moribund.
1960s and 70s. Burnt out teachers in walk shorts and long socks.
In the last 30 years the toxic Marxists have taken over. The feminazis in their brown slacks, floppy orange and brown tops and butch haircut.
That was why they went feral on Christine Rankin 20 years ago for dressing like a woman.
There is a surplus of people with useless degrees in Art History, Sociology, etc with nowhere to go.
Klarkenfuhrer soaked them up into the pubic service.
      The rot is now fundamental.

It will be a hell of a job to remedy it.
Min 5 years to turn it around .

The irony is that a 7 year old from a good home possibly has a better grasp of the real world than a lefty, unionised feminist, BLM teacher so their directing play may not be all bad !!

you say: Despite a 32% real rise in per-pupil spending:-
A lot of that has gone on pay rises for the same old same old; reworking leaky buildings (billions) low grade ‘teacher aides’ and extra effort of superfluous crap subjects that distract from core .

Foreign born students tend to top subjects because their parents are more focused and value the education.
There has also been a huge shift to pursuing a professional sporting career – that didn’t exist 30 years ago- so schoolwork/learning is downgraded.

You cant be too surprised that the kids are failing when their parents – in most cases – cannot work out after 7 months they are living the biggest con in history.

      • Actually, I had some interaction with Lange over the schools and I wouldn’t agree with that.
Where they did fall down was in not implementing funding per child rather than a donation to thei union schools. Only ACT has been able to change that. The lazy Nats. grudgingly allowed the Charter Schools only for this lot to stuff them.
So to sum it up. Labour and the Nats. are union sympathisers (Key included), and neither have any respect for either the taxpayer or the customer.)

    • We banged on about this for the last seven years when sons arrived at bullshit progressive intermediate School with learning environments ffs and child directed learning – totally unfit for preparation for Auckland grammar (and this intermediate was one of three feeder schools to grammar). Auckland grammar is phenomenal; old school learning, passionate teachers and headmaster, invested parents and on the whole, kids who want to achieve. It is such a pity it can’t be cloned

  4. Good morning all, Thank you for suffering the leaders debate last night, I would rather stick hot needles in my eye than watch that lying communist woman ptpm. I have to leave the room if she is on eve, She said on the radio she is not a socialist so has she left the socialist party? She sounds very like she has lifetime membership to me. I cannot stand to look at her nor the sound of her voice either. The candidates of central Auckland are make me feel ill as well. They are trying to take the country down to communist levels and to be honest its all sickening. Say no to the ho. Two votes Act for me. .

    • As previously noted on here I have already voted so . We are lucky the choice is so abundantly clear (given the number of looney tunes, no hope parties on the ballot paper) and anyone who cannot see it deserves the government they will get if they fail to vote strategically for Act and National.

  6. Massey University proposes dumping 100 science jobs

Up to 100 science jobs at Massey University could be slashed in efforts to cut costs.

Science staff were sent a revised discussion document setting out two options to cut expenses, both of which could result in a third of the staff losing their jobs and specialist courses dropped.

Earlier this year management also suggested dropping the science degree from its Albany campus, in Auckland.

  8. Seriously disrespectful comment from Sage.

Farmers push back after ‘cheap shot’ from Conservation Minister, say they ‘aren’t looking for free anything’
    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/rural/2020/10/farmers-push-back-after-cheap-shot-from-conservation-minister-say-they-aren-t-looking-for-free-anything.html

On Monday Federated Farmers said wilding vegetation on Department of Conservation (DoC) land had helped fuel the fire. But Conservation Minister Eugenie Sage hit back against that comment, saying nature didn’t start fires.

“I think Federated Farmers are making a push for free grazing,” Sage told RNZ.

“For Conservation Minister Eugenie Sage to suggest yesterday that Federated Farmers was opportunistic in the wake of the Ōhau blaze and just looking for free grazing was a cheap shot,” Stokes said.

“We have been warning about fire fuel loads on DoC land in the South Island for years. We have only been opportunistic in the sense that the near-miss to human lives, not to mention the stock loss and serious property damage from Sunday’s fire, was a chance to finally get some traction with the department and the Government on this issue.

“Farmers aren’t looking for ‘free’ anything. They operate commercial businesses and they’re looking for a partnership, with contracts, to try and reduce a serious risk to safety, private property and the environment.”

    21

    • With all this nonsense conservation of a do nothing, that allows a “fuel load”, encourages a fuel loading.

      Nature always fills a vacuum.

Rabbits, will have more shelter, and will build up.
Rats will have more cover, variety of feed, seeds, and so numbers up.
Stoats, weasels, wild cats and ferret numbers will build up.

Nature does not do things in balance, so what may be the consequences?
Rats can carry leptospirosis , that can transfer to cattle and sheep, which when if a human catches has rather dire affects.
Wild cats can carry toxoplasmosis, , In sheep and cattle it causes slips, early abortions. It can cross over to humans and has other effects as well. Plus sarcosysts. Stoats, weasels, ferrets can carry tuberculosis, which can affect cattle herds and so to humans.

Leaving things as is, will black-berry, barberry, , tutsin, ragwart, etc., etc gorse, lupine, broom and this last 3 will be fixing nitrogen into the ground to be leached.
All of this becomes major problems to neighbouring farms, as well as adding to the fuel load

An “expert” talking on & on on radio, yesterday, with all the unreasoning of “kindly” signalling words, saying it should be put into native trees, as it is a most cool effect, and no smell of inflammable pine, because pine is bad and being mono culture.
So what is kahikatea, rimu, totara tawa, then manuka & kanuka, All great fire wood, though totara can be very sparky.
Then being native it will have all the coolness of being diverse. Yeah right.

What they do not realize is that the air in central Otago, the most inland of New Zealand has the lowest rainfall, the driest air, lowest humidity, so naturally things do dry out.

Collins continued, saying Lee was “not part of the senior leadership team” and a “first-time MP… not used to the way that campaigns are run”.

“I’ve pointed out that all the leaders I’ve dealt with over the years – whether it’s Bill English or John Key or Don Brash – they make decisions. That’s called leadership.”

  12. Hey all you white privileged pricks taking advantage of poor liddle Maori 🙄
“Māori are used to maintain a Pākehā economy which is based on criminalising them,” she said.”

Māori Party promise $100m for legal aid service, want overhaul of ‘racist’ justice system

The Māori Party has today promised a $100 million investment for the establishment of a Māori legal aid service and the complete overhaul of what they call New Zealand’s “racist” justice system.
    https://www.tvnz.co.nz/one-news/new-zealand/m-ori-party-promise-100m-legal-aid-service-calls-overhaul-racist-justice-system

As well as the establishment of a fund for a Māori restorative justice system, the policy would also see the replacement of punitive measures “embedded within the current criminal justice system” with a system based around restorative justice and rehabilitation.

It would also amend “racist laws, legal and policing processes” which the party says has helped incarcerate “innocent Māori”.

  15. If one wants to understand the anarchy, the antifa behind it and its deviousness, and how hard it is to pin down.
Well worth the read, as to “know your self, know your enemy”, or just what is it?
To get past the “useful idiots” and to the systems, the different levels and types of “blocs”, that keep things on “simmer”.
How the purpose in “baiting” the police, wanting over-reaction, plus attaining media coverage.
    .
….. This summer, she decided to find out more by going undercover with the black bloc anarchists in Portland. …..
    .
…… This is basically guerilla warfare.
They’re trying to undermine legitimacy of the state.
The police right now, I think some of them are catching up.
    There’s a playbook for how police respond to riots and they’re not actually doing it;
it’s not an actual riot. I mean, it is a riot, but at the same time, it’s a specific type of riot that’s trying to make the police respond in a certain way. ……
    .
………. It’s very tricky to react to because people get angry.
If you just go in public and pick someone and start pushing them, if you keep pushing them, they’re going to slug you; it’s just how it’s going to work, at the individual level but also at the group level too. ….
…… Of course if you hit them, they’re going to fall down and go, “Oh, God, you’re violent. You’re a Nazi!”
    .
What they’re intending to do is use that level of violence that will scare people enough to back down. [The radical left] learned in the ’70s that killing people is bad PR. A body count is horrible. ……
    .
………. I know there’s another guy who was a Johns Hopkins grad.
You can dismiss them as a bunch of losers, but I’ve seen some incredibly smart people. …….

    https://reason.com/2020/10/02/the-conservative-trans-woman-who-went-undercover-with-antifa-in-portland/
    .
Then note how antifa are able to take a “win” out of the community, that also can mean take the wind out of the “state”
    .
Knowing some of these things, we may be able to be more effective in countering and thwarting some of their goals.

The police suspect foul play, the Norwegian broadcaster NRK reported.

Lid was found dead in his apartment in Suldalen in Kristiansand, with what has been reported as “visible damage to the body”. …..

….. As recently as August, SIAN’s leader Lars Thorsen was beaten to a bloody pulp by a Muslim mob in connection with a demonstration in Bergen.

Norway’s Muslim community has grown exponentially, reaching close to 6 percent of the country’s population in a matter of several decades, and accounting for well over 10 percent or higher in some municipalities in Greater Oslo.

The family of murdered Australian surfer Sean McKinnon will be spared a trial after New Zealand man who killed him pleaded guilty to murder.
    https://www.tvnz.co.nz/one-news/new-zealand/man-admits-fatally-shooting-australian-surfer-in-campervan-near-raglan

Today the High Court in Hamilton heard Mark Garson, accused of killing Mr McKinnon during his sleep last August, change his earlier plea and admitted the crime.

The plea reversal means Garson, who has been detained since the killing, will not go to trial next month, and instead be sentenced for murder and threatening to murder December 9.

McKinnon and Buckley were sleeping in a campervan parked at Te Toto Gorge, near the surfy, tourist town of Raglan, last August when Garson fired several shots at the van.

Garson was apprehended on the outskirts of Hamilton later that day, having driven the campervan for some time before abandoning it.

  22. NZ has never seen such blatant pre-election pork-barrel politicking before. The troughers are out in force with taxpayers lolly scrambles raining down on chosen groups.

NZ Election 2020: Shane Jones fends off ‘tawdry’ outrage over $100m PGF boost for marae close to election

“Less than two weeks out from the election, NZ First and Labour are using a slush fund of taxpayers’ money to try to buy votes,” ACT leader David Seymour said on Wednesday.

“Shane Jones is going to announce $100 million of spending, which will include funding for the electorate that he’s standing in. While Mr Jones might think it will buy him votes, New Zealanders can see right through it.”

Jones is campaigning to win Northland from Matt King, the National MP who currently holds it. A Colmar-Brunton poll in August showed King on 46 percent, Labour’s Willow-Jean Prime on 31 percent and Jones on 15 percent.

Jones told Newshub Seymour’s “headline-hussy approach” is “not worthy of a response other than it’s tawdry and it’s negative”.

National’s finance spokesperson Paul Goldsmith described the $100 million of PGF money as an “outrageous use of taxpayer funds” so close to the election.

    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/rural/2020/10/new-study-shows-sheep-and-beef-farms-close-to-being-carbon-neutral.html

A new study shows New Zealand sheep and beef farms are already offsetting the bulk of their agricultural emissions.

The research – led by Dr Bradley Case at Auckland University of Technology (AUT) – estimates the woody vegetation on sheep and beef farms across the country is offsetting between 63 percent and 118 percent of on-farm agricultural emissions.

If the mid-point of that range is taken, on average around 90 percent of emissions are being absorbed.

From the Dark side, and so creepy.
Look how she is dressed, , sure check your privilege. 🙂
A good life was to be had as a Mrs, Aunty Tom’s
Has she ever cared about the USA, or is it just what she can get out of it.
A bit worried that her husband is over nigh on over his head in the quicksand of the swamp? 🙂
I think she missed a word out;- “Deplorables” feel the guilt & vote for Biden.

Surely she should have added her voice in gratitude to “Black Voices for Trump” like how Ben Carson spoke well & introduced the President.
Just a few minutes of this to wipe the stink away..
