  1. Where are you all this morning?
Gotta get out early and vote these evil bastards out.

2ticks ACT as Simon seems to rather like he doesn’t really beleive in what he is doing.
Just might get a fright. National may not be as safe here as he thinks.

    • I voted yesterday to avoid the rush next weekend. The polling station was operating under Level 2 restrictions, so voting on election day may be a bit of a hassle.
Get out there and vote early if you can!

      Take a pen with you.

      • Just been to vote two ticks Act.
The reason is for all the stuffups by labour and national did not call them out,
        they have plenty of ammo.
I hope that Judith can turn them around. They need to go back to grassroots.
Took a risk that the present national mp will not go red.
Allow at least halfnhour to vote on a good day. They are bloody slow!

        • I notice Bridges is having a few digs at Collins or is that the media trying to push a division? Bridges would be stupid to be trying this —I think he is a good politician but he is not a good front person. He should put his head down and do his job well from high up in the National rankings.

  2. One Auckland property management company has been paid more than $12 million to house the homeless over the past 18 months.

But it also managed to get more than $50,000 in wage subsidies – with the Ministry for Social Development now looking into a formal complaint made about the money.

As the country scrambled into Level 4 lockdown back in March, making sure everyone had a place to stay was a priority.

    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/new-zealand/2020/10/emergency-accommodation-providers-claim-thousands-in-wage-subsidies.html?fbclid=IwAR2ujX0Lm0WEWefojReIj6CXYR_hL9WhszwKl9NV7ie9WcdRBBhlB7FtGYo

Anyone thinkl this was a rort. I beleive it gets worse as much of the accomodation was substandard at high rates.

    • Is there a clause in their contract to refurbise after it finishes?
Other wise you would need low end properties that get the demo afterwards.
Mind you, with those figures they get a new free house at the end!

Well she will be even worse today!
Could you imagine being anywhere near it this morning? Staffers will be hiding under their desks ha ha

        • The communist chic is a very complex insecure individual who surrounds herself with sycophants. Many of these have very dangerous suppressed beliefs that could shortly become obvious so you have been warned.

The fact that Angry Andrew will boot three strikes to touch will hit a raw nerve with her father who is a very respected former cop. Poor bugger……She has already been a huge disappointment when she denounced the Mormon faith and then became a Marxist. Notice how she now claims that the Mormon thing was many years ago… My arse !!!!!

Then along came randy Jethro with all his baggage and the country was soon stuck with another unwed mother. Another heart break that had the midnight oil burning in the Ardern camp.

I am not a prude but I do believe someone holding the gifted title of Prime Minister should have some morals and not be a self centered show pony.

If she gets back in with all her bribes pray that the UN makes her an offer she cannot refuse.

    • A FB friend just made the rather chilling point-
“After two failed attempts to what extremes will Jacinda Ardern go to ensure the gong next year”?
This has got my mind racing.

I would put nothing past this deranged woman…

Labour MP Phil Twyford has slammed a “gross piece of misinformation” posted online by his National Party rival for the Te Atatu electorate, Alfred Ngaro.

“Your local MP should represent the values of the people and place,” he wrote, accompanied by an image of Twyford overlaid claims “a vote for Phil” was a vote for legalising recreational cannabis, decriminalising all drugs, full-term abortion and “abortion based on gender and disability”.

  5. Gazumped again.
“The Prime Minister said she was not expecting to win”… Yeah, we believe you Cindy. 🤥

Jacinda Ardern loses out as World Food Programme named winner of 2020 Nobel Peace Prize

The United Nations’ World Food Programme has been named the winner of the 2020 Nobel Peace Prize for its efforts to combat hunger and its contribution to bettering conditions for peace in conflict-affected areas.
    https://www.tvnz.co.nz/one-news/world/jacinda-ardern-loses-world-food-programme-named-winner-2020-nobel-peace-prize

Jacinda Ardern was tipped as favourite for the prize last year by Time Magazine, following her response to the March 15 Christchurch terrorist attacks.

The Prime Minister said she was not expecting to win, however, adding that there were others who were more deserving of the prize.

“I’m extremely flattered by the fact that people even consider it within the realm of possibility,” she said. “But, it’s fair to say, I never have.”

    • “The Prime Minister said she was not expecting to win”…

      Bullshit.
Ardern is a narcissistic megalomaniac who craves attention and adulation and EVERYTHING she does is designed to impress the UN and Nobel Committee etc
We are just pawns in her little game!
The cold-hearted creature would happily order us to all drink Kool Aid if she thought it was going to get her that job at the UN…

      14

      0

    • And besides-
She was CERTAINLY expecting to win when she flew Stephen Colbert out here last year (at the taxpayer’s expense) to cover her glorious victory.
Even the Labour Party people I know admit that was the reason he was here….

      18

      0

    • I knew Ardern had not won when on the 7.00am news the first item was about a medical journal with editorial saying Trump should be voted out because of his mishandling of the Covid issue causing all the people to die. The editor sounded like an American , so it shows the idiot does not know that most of the responses were the responsibility of the individual States . Just shows how low the Democrats are going.

The Nobel Prize item was about the 4th or 5th on the list !!!

These people saying she was one of the favourites were getting the information directly or indirectly from the bookies. Bookies are not out to accurately predict winners, they are out to make money ! They will manipulate their message to achieve that so they can get more suckers to invest/place a bet.

  6. We have already experienced shortages of medicines when three monthly dispensing was cut to monthly for a time earlier this year.

On top of that, as we’re all aware COVID-19 has added a whole different dimension in terms of slowing up supply chains and production of all sorts of medicines, including unfortunately oral contraceptives.”

He said he does not know why supply was an issue before the COVID-19 pandemic.

  7. A bit of a read this morning.
To know and understand will make one more effective in countering the sly indoctrination.
    .
“Cultural Marxism’s Origins: How the Disciples of an Obscure Italian Linguist Subverted America
    The Origins of Cultural Marxism”
    .
    Gramsci’s Children: The Frankfurt School
    ~ György Lukács and Reification
~ Herbert Marcuse and Repressive Tolerance
~ Max Horkheimer and Critical Theory
The Long March Through the Institutions
    The Weaponization of Critique
Is Cultural Marxism a Real Threat?
    .
…… While we can’t propose any sweeping solutions here, it is worth noting that the first step toward combating this ideological and cultural menace is being able to identify it, understand it and, above all, call it out whenever it is seen in action.
Much like the long march through the institutions, this might not be a sexy “one-and-done” type of solution, but it might well be the only weapon that we have against them.
    .
An important part of combating Cultural Marxism is simply studying social history and the history of ideas.
To take an example of low-hanging fruit, America, the West and white people did not invent slavery, however they did more to eradicate it from the face of the earth than anyone else.
Mental gymnastics are often required to argue against even the most basic refutations of Cultural Marxism and such mental gymnastics often expose the proponents of Cultural Marxism as uneducated, unprincipled or just plain wrong.

Finally, reject political guilt. Those who push guilt do so in bad faith as a form of weaponizing the Western sense of fair play. …..
    https://ammo.com/articles/cultural-marxism-gramsci-how-disciples-of-gramscian-marxism-subverted-america

Is it just one of those things that we know it, when we see it?
Then what & how are we doing to stop this changing cultural “partnership” through NZ institutions, departments, councils, etc. becoming ingrained.?
Can we be more specific, and objective in countering this ongoing indoctrination.

Appreciate Ed’s fight back, like with the “Aotearoa” magazine of wokeness.

“It’s absolutely targeted at middle-income earners. The average full-time gets about $64,000 a year – they’ll get about $3000 in the hand. If there’s two of them, they get $6000. So we’re targeting middle New Zealand – people who work hard – and giving them some of their own money back.”

For someone on $64,000 a year, they’d get an extra $47 a week. But while statistics show $64,000 is the mean, it’s not the median – only 25 percent of people earn more than this, most earning less. The median income is about $55,000 – people earning that will only get $26 a week.

  11. NZ Election 2020: Greens use outdated emissions figures to make construction industry sound worse

AAP FactCheck investigation: Have greenhouse gas emissions from the construction industry increased by two-thirds over the past decade?

“Emissions from the construction sector have also increased by two-thirds over the last decade.”

  14. If Labour get in and especially if they govern alone, do you think they will last 3 years? In their first term they have shown they are incapable of actually getting something up and going (other than setting up working groups) and in the next 3 years things will actually HAVE TO BE DELIVERED —there is nothing to suggest that what has happened in terms of performance will change.

So if I am correct will NZers stand back and let us slide further down hill?

    5

      • Yes, they’ve already spent every cent the country had and are churning out “quantative easing” which sounds quite pleasant but is the road to anguish and suffering for the masses. Introduction of all Labour’s shithouse socialist policies will bring the economy to a grinding halt. Look at socialist Veneuzela, it’s still limping along and unable to remove their dear leader. 😫

Their circumstances were no better and in many cases less than the slaves.
the owners paid for slaves so valued them.

  17. Written and directed by acclaimed filmmaker, scholar, and “New York Times” bestselling author Dinesh D’Souza, “Trump Card” is an exposé of the socialism, corruption and gangsterization that now define the Democratic Party.

Dinesh D’Souza’s new book, “United States of Socialism,” reveals how the Left uses the Venezuelan formula for socialism, decisively refutes this new face of socialism, chillingly documents the full range of the Left’s gangster tendencies, and provocatively exposes the tactics of the socialist Left.

Who is behind it, why is it evil, and how can we stop it?

that is socialism because all they see is a creature who promises
a wonderful future, while throwing millions of dollars to them.
Ardern is socialism incarnate, but because the slag has NZ’s media

media whore who is ‘kind’ and ‘caring’. They fail to see that behind

“Infidel is a contemporary political thriller set in the Middle East and filled with suspense and intrigue, inspired by true events, and ripped from today’s headlines.
Jim Caviezel (The Passion of the Christ, Person of Interest, Deja Vu) plays an American journalist/blogger who is kidnapped while attending a conference in the Middle East.

Late last week, the Supreme Court of Michigan — the state’s highest and final court — invalidated the coronavirus pandemic executive orders of Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer as well as the statute on which she based those orders.

The opinion was a sweeping victory for personal liberty in a free society and was exceptionally gratifying for those of us who believe that the U.S. and state constitutions mean what they say.

In short, the governor of Michigan made up her own laws, reordered human life, displaced nearly all livelihoods and trampled civil liberties on a scale not seen in America since the Civil War; although the governor’s orders in New Jersey are a close second.

The physicians who challenged Whitmer’s executive orders argued that under the U.S. Constitution’s Guarantee Clause, the states are required to have and employ a republican form of government (lowercase “r”).

This means in all state governments there must be three separate branches of government — a legislature that writes the laws, an executive that enforces them and a judiciary that interprets them. This is known as the separation of powers.

When any governmental executive — a mayor, governor or president — takes, receives or exercises legislative power, that violates the separation of powers.

A violation of the separation of powers ordinarily renders the violating governmental behavior null and void.

A very good win for the republicans.

  27. She rarely mentions it, but Harris actually didn’t grow up in this country. She moved to Quebec when she was 12 and she didn’t come back until after high school. So if the question is, “What’s the capital of Canada?” — for the record, it’s a place called Ottawa — Kamala Harris could probably tell you.

But when it comes to Abraham Lincoln, she’s completely at sea. None of what she said was true. Michael Burlingame would know. He runs the Lincoln Studies Department at the University of Illinois at Springfield, and he was baffled by what he saw at the VP debate.

“I’ve never seen anything like that quote in all my 36 years of Lincoln research,” Burlingame later said.

In fact, Lincoln didn’t immediately nominate a new Supreme Court justice before the 1864 election because he couldn’t. The Senate was not in session at the time, and in 1864, there were fewer direct flights to Washington.

In December, the day after the Senate reconvened, President Lincoln immediately nominated a replacement to the court. So Kamala Harris’ version isn’t real. It didn’t happen. It was her version of the Corn Pop story. It was colorful, but entirely made up.

What’s not a fantasy is the Democrats’ plans. Hard to believe, but this is real. Their plan to completely change our American form of government is very close to happening, closer than a lot of Republicans want to admit. And you should be worried about it.

  28. The arrogance of the man, and supping and then pushing the indoctrination memes.

“I’ve been very clear that if an athlete chooses to take the knee on a podium, then I’m supportive of that,” Sebastian Coe said, giving a boost to Black Lives Matter protests and other social- and racial-justice movements that are determined to use Tokyo as a stage.

Coe is speaking out in direct opposition to Rule 50 of the Olympic Charter that says “no kind of demonstration or political, religious or racial propaganda is permitted in any Olympic sites, venues or other areas.”

Coe is not just any voice. He’s an International Olympic Committee member, a two-time Olympic gold medalist and the head World Athletics, the world governing body of track and field.

He also headed the 2012 London Olympics.

“Athletes are a part of the world and they want to reflect the world they live in,” Coe said.
“For me, that part is perfectly acceptable as long as it is done with respect — complete respect — for other competitors, which I think most athletes properly understand.”

Coe’s comments are contrary to official IOC policy.
Earlier this year, the IOC said it was opening dialogue with athletes on the issue.

Not that I am a big time watcher of Olympics, but others around me, will be asked to either change channel or hit the off button., or put up with an ongoing social history talk about drugged, criminals raised to hero status, and how western civilization did to solve the slave problem etc., etc..

The Olympic committee will have to decide what side its bread is buttered on.

  29. …… “Too much democracy is bad for democracy” says a headline in The Atlantic.
The Economist concurs and claims that “too much democracy threatens freedom.”

What these warnings about ‘too much democracy’ really mean is that what’s needed is a form of democracy that makes it difficult, if not impossible, for people to vote for Brexit or for candidates [Trump] they label as populists. …..

….. Dutch academics, …. …… , claim that populists are “no longer ordinary adversaries, but political enemies.”

They add that “it is important that populist parties, to the extent that they are inimical to democracy, should be revealed as such, treated accordingly and, if necessary, isolated from power.”
This representation of populism as an enemy that needs to be isolated explicitly seeks to quarantine society from its pernicious doctrines. ….

The belief that drives Democracy Panic is the conviction that the people cannot be trusted. They are derided and blamed for failing to act in accordance with the wisdom of their political and cultural superiors. As one commenter asserted in The Atlantic, “our most pressing political problem today is that the country abandoned the establishment, not the other way around”.

Yes, many citizens have lost their trust in the establishment. Why?
Because they finally realised that their leaders were not following. [the people’s wishes]
The people, unlike the commenters in the elite media, want more democracy and not less.

Do enough New Zealanders understand where the easy road of good intentions, “our comrade” wants to lead us to?
