  1. I recommend voting early, before the mad rush on election day.
Never put off until tomorrow what you can do today.

    • Just allow plenty of time as they are bloody slow!
If there was only one day like years past, half of NZ would not get the chance ad the line would still be out the gate at closing time!

  2. Good morning Stupid Boys.

I have returned from a fishing expedition to Russell and the Bay of Islands.

      • Fishing was a Bleak House. Very bleak. One keepable snapper 31 cm (limit 30 cm).

Beautiful place though. Lots of gannets working away plus dolphins.

Most of the fishing was around Urupukapuka Island.

…… It is a socialist organization, drawing from Marxist ideology, “with a clear focus on building the resistance to Trump,” its website said. ….
….. Riots in Minneapolis were sparked by FRSO, specifically by its member Jess Sundin, who also is a leader of the movement called Twin Cities Coalition for Justice 4 Jamar, and the wife of FRSO political secretary, Loudon said.
    .
Loudon produced a video that includes a podcast showing Sundin, “admitting that she was the main organizer of the riots” and talking about the joy she felt when she saw a police precinct “being burnt to the ground.”
    .
She also admitted that the violence, looting, and arson were “intrinsically part of the movement,” Loudon said, “It wasn’t a peaceful demonstration being hijacked.”
    .
Riots and unrest in other cities including Kenosha, Dallas, Houston, Tallahassee, Jacksonville, Miami, Tampa, Salt Lake City, and Los Angeles were organized and coordinated by the same group, Loudon said.
    .
Loudon wrote that FRSO political secretary Steff Yorek said on the day President Donald Trump was inaugurated, “We need to stay in the streets the entire four years opposing Trump and making the country ungovernable.”

  4. Went to a local candidates meeting in Waimate last night, about 70 odd there and mainly of the older variety. The Advance NZ candidate Heather Meri Pennycock really impressed me, spoke strongly, passionately and without any notes. On a question on Parliament laws and the Bible the ACT candidate, in a church hall and all, managed to say that all these stories that were passed down as no one could write back then were not really that relevant.
The Labour candidate never bothered to turn up, two nice references too that by Jacqui Dean, the local M.P.who showed her 15 years experience. Overall a surprisingly enjoyable Saturday night out, enjoyed the part when each had to say how the would vote on the euthanasia and cannabis question, abortion law also loomed quite a bit.

  6. Another interference in the USA elections.
How close would Joe Biden and Democrats be to this also?

The Department of Justice on Wednesday seized the domain names of 92 websites that it says Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps was using to spread propaganda and disinformation to American audiences.

Iran and the IRGC used these websites to “spread propaganda covertly” and “sow discord” among the American public ahead of the 2020 presidential elections, according to John Demers, assistant attorney general for national security.
Iran has spent great resources trying to influence the election in favor of Democratic challenger Joe Biden, and its operation of these websites violates U.S. sanctions.

At least four of these websites were set up to appear as news outlets.
They were, however, actually controlled by the IRGC, Iran’s paramilitary fighting force responsible for conducting cyber operations on the Islamic Republic’s behalf.
This behavior violates the Foreign Agents Registration Act, which mandates that foreign governments disclose their activities in the United States.

Trump’s “strong” language is to get a message to the mullahs, instead of bending knees on prayer mats.
Probably Trump knows much more about Iran, and the connections into the Democrats.

  7. North Korea unveils ‘monster’ new intercontinental ballistic missile at parade
    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/world/2020/10/north-korea-unveils-monster-new-intercontinental-ballistic-missile-at-parade.html

Analysts said the missile, which was shown on a transporter vehicle with 11 axles, would be one of the largest road-mobile intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) in the world if it becomes operational.

“This missile is a monster,” said Melissa Hanham, deputy director of the Open Nuclear Network.

Also displayed were the Hwasong-15, which is the longest-range missile ever tested by North Korea, and what appeared to be a new submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM).

Kim blamed international sanctions, typhoons, and the coronavirus for preventing him from delivering on promises of economic progress.

“I am ashamed that I have never been able to repay you properly for your enormous trust,” he said. “My efforts and devotion were not sufficient to bring our people out of difficult livelihoods.”

  8. It is slowly getting to the media with the $ effects.

Now, ESPN is making another round of sweeping layoffs. It’s blaming the coronavirus, naturally, because it certainly can’t blame its own politicized [BLM] discussions during almost every major sporting event it has broadcast over the last few months.
    .
According to NJ.com, the network is trying to cut “tens of millions” in salary:
    .
One source pegged the potential number of job losses between 300 and 700 employees. ….. ….. But some on-camera TV and radio talents could be impacted — particularly if their contracts are expiring this year.
The network may also ask its highest-earning talent and executives to take a reduction in salary.
The goal is to potentially cut tens of millions in salary, said sources.
    .
The cuts come right after ESPN’s parent company, Disney, also announced a sweeping round of more than 25,000 job cuts days ago.
    .
NBA Commissioner Adam Silver appeared to confirm early this week that Black Lives Matter messaging will be pulled from the court and from players jerseys next year. ….
…… Silver alluded to the messaging being removed despite the league being “completely committed to standing for social justice and racial equality.”….

    • Democracy has been broken. All it took was a dose of the ‘flu and a bunch of deranged Marxists.

Just think how much bloodshed could have been saved in the 20th Century if the revolutionaries knew what they Marxists know today. All you have to do is call the common cold a plague and remove everybody’s rights!

So simple. Genius simple in fact.

    • But it looks like it will be a battle between Andrews and Peta Credlin. She went to his press conference the other day and gave him heaps with a lot of facts and hard hitting questions. Andrews went very red in the face —either embarrassment or anger or both.

This coming week should be interesting. Peta says she will keep going back to the press conference every day, if necessary. She was absolutely fuming on her show that night (Friday).

      • And Andrews has buckled now. The Inquiry has been shamed into requesting phone records. See all it takes to get through the lies of the faux “inquiry” technique that Jacinda has hidden behind all of her term – is a journalist asking a few well-informed questions and then calling out the lies. Sadly, in NZ we haven’t had one of them ever as far as I can tell. They’re all like Vernon Small, proudly touting their independence all the while socialising with their mates in Labour and taking a fat salary when the commies get in power. Liars and crooks all of them.

Credlin is fantastic. She has a pair and some integrity. The Left must fucking hate her.

Of course, Andrews is playing for time now. And my guess is we’re going to find that there was a circuit-breaker – that there is no dotted line to him – I reckon the staff in his office are now drawing lots to see who is going to be the sacrificial lamb. After a few weeks, Andrews will do a non-apology apology, admit one of his staff ‘mis-spoke’ and acted alone in telling the Commissioner that it was going to be a private security operation. When in reality, Andrews will have given the instruction and told his staffer to make the call.

The real problem as well as Andrews is the Commissioner who is not saying who told him.

It’s a conspiracy any way you look at it.

        • Very good DP.
A small movement of a silent fart, out of that constipated git.

Sky News host Peta Credlin, who was once former Liberal prime minister Tony Abbott’s chief-of-staff, grilled Mr Andrews on Friday over why phone records were not tendered to the inquiry which might reveal who decided to use private security.

He insisted that phone records had not been requested by the inquiry, which was headed by Justice Jennifer Coate.

But at a press conference on Sunday morning, Mr Andrews said he would provide the letters after the subject was again broached by reporters.

‘I’m not… I’ve not actually seen the letter.
It’s come to me via my staff.
I think it was received either last night or early part of the evening last night.
I’ve not seen the letter,’ Mr Andrews said.

Premier Daniel Andrews has agreed to hand over letters to the hotel quarantine inquiry after being blasted early this week about exchanges being withheld

‘But what I can confirm for you is each and every record they’ve sought, they’ll get.’
          https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8827515/Daniel-Andrews-EXTENDS-Victorias-State-Emergency-Disaster-four-weeks.html

So in the mean time Dan Andrews carefully “does not see the letter” so as to make sure he is better positioned, as DP mentions, so a staffer can be pushed under the bus.

    • Very good wg, & Ross12
      Go Peda Credlin
      .
A clearly agitated premier, told Credlin if the inquiry had not asked him the question, he had no intention of telling her.
      .
‘With the greatest of respect, if you’re putting it to me that somehow you’ve got the power to make a request of me, but the board doesn’t, that’s just not right,’ Mr Andrew said.
      .
‘I don’t agree with the notion that now you and your network have an ability to put something to me and make a request of me but the board of inquiry doesn’t. The board has that power.’
      .
The stoush followed a suggestion by former health minister Jenny Mikakos that Mr Andrews may have lied to the inquiry.

Let’s be clear, when a Republican Presidential candidate is getting endorsed by a Police UNION! Something weird is happening.

  14. I know this has been mentioned before.

Chinese whistleblower Li-Meng Yan, formerly a virologist with the World Health Organization (WHO) reference lab who was forced to vacate her position at the University of Hong Kong under duress, is putting herself and her family in great peril to share the truth about COVID-19’s origins.

She has co-authored an academic paper detailing how there has been “large-scale organized scientific fraud” amidst the cover-up of COVID-19 being a bioweapon created by the Chinese government.

Another reason I read was that the virus was altered so that a vaccine could be made, so it fits into being man made, but it escaped in its altered state.

But just who? and for what purpose? and why are they hiding?
Will they ever be fully exposed for all to see?

      • Thanks for the link Viking. Really interesting.
I have Chinese friend with whom I talk about China/Chinese politics quite a bit. While he has lived in NZ for 30 years he keeps very well informed of what is going over there.
A few months back I suggested that Xi could be under pressure because the virus situation had led to China “losing face”. He agreed with the losing face bit but said Xi had the backing of the army and as always, he who has the guns wins.
But a few weeks ago Xi came up in discussion again and this time my friend said there were definitely rumblings in Beijing about Xi and his position may not be as strong as it once was.
So as you suggest it is leading to interesting times in China, which I think is good because I think Xi has taken China backwards in many ways, compared to his two predecessors.

  18. So there will be another influx of economic refugees.
    .
The survey, which interviewed 4,000 people aged 18 to 24 across 17 states in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), found that 42 per cent of those polled wanted to leave their home countries and migrate elsewhere, and 40 per cent have thought of moving to another country in a permanent basis. …..

The Chinese seem to have no problem moving in to take resources from Africa.
    .
    [From a comment]
They would get a similar response if they asked the question:
“Would you like to spend your life working hard to build up your own countries and make them great, or would you like to have it all handed to you on a plate?”
    .
How fortunate for these potential migrants that our ancestors had no such choice.
They spent their blood, sweat and tears to create nations that have given our people security and have lasted for centuries.
    .
Their sacrifices created countries that lived under the rule of law where you could work to get ahead and did not need to keep looking over your shoulder in fear of being killed.
    .
Now our forebear’s centuries of hard work are being given away to those who will tear it all down because our greatness is a stark reminder of their weakness.
We have achieved so much and they have achieved so little.
    .
But not before they have taken as much from us as they can.

    .
    [another comment]
Civilization and civilized countries rely on a culture of trust. Their own countries are corruption-ridden $ hit holes that they have zero trust in, and it’s every men for himself. (forget about the women). Have you ever seen these barbarians even try to form a queue? It would be funny if it wasn’t so frustrating.

    .
Yet the elite like Professor Spoonley, a demanding trough feeder, continue on in a fantasy of “super diversity” of “social innovation” of glossy diversity that masks deeper problems, yet lays the blame on right wing, that has done a lot of work in building a country.
He simply wants to spend other peoples works, in a virtual signal to feelz good and to make them pay.
    .
I have a grudging respect for people like David Shearer, at least he is in Africa, even though distributing other peoples money in aid.
Building up a country for the past 20-30 years? Makes him look like he is doing something to feelz good about. 🙁

Robin Craig, a Kaikohe resident of 61 years, shares Velden’s concerns.

“The heart of the people of Kaikohe is broken in many ways.”

He says over the last half-century, he’s seen a loss of compassion for one another, damage from drugs and alcohol, the loss of self-pride, the general acceptance of lower standards and a lack of engagement with schools and the community.

  21. Well that was weird. Went and voted. I hadn’t got my voting slip in the mail yet so had to do the special vote form. As the lady placed it into the envelope I said “So, no ID needed then?” She grinned broadly, immediately understanding the implication. I just smiled and sighed.

Would be child’s play to vote an extra dozen times if you knew of someone’s address, DOB, etc, and that they were not going to vote.
Another joke of “officialdom” in action. I mean, seriously, this is an election FFS! Not hard to produce ID for special votes is it?

    • We discussed this on here the other day Floyd. It is great that you are able to confirm what few of us said at the time. Were there no scrutineers at the polling place?

I suggest you send a note of you experience to Judith Collins and copy it to the Electoral Commission.

      6

      • Oh ok I must’ve missed that day’s comments Ross. Some nights I’m too exhausted to stay up and read. Too tired from busting my ass to pay for the new gender neutral toilets and a new totem pole at the local marae aye!

I was not scrutinised in any way at all, and what’s the point in me signing the papers without a reference point to compare it to, eg drivers licence?

Hmmm, really don’t see the point in writing a letter to that lot, call me cynical!

Just thought I’d share here, but obviously late to the party ha!

          • I was interested as well Ross! With all the reports of overt covid “protections” we are not looking forward to voting this election so hubby and I have decided not to leave it until next Saturday. Instead we will go during the week to the local polling venue. Democracy is worth the effort, especially this time. We do live in interesting times!

          • Oh I didn’t take it that way at all Ross! It’s interesting for sure though isn’t it. Hardly a foolproof system!

      • Waste of time sending it to electoral commission- they were not remotely interested in invigilators with high vis vests carrying clipboards insisting on hand sanitising prior to voting impeding your ability to vote let alone completed voting papers sticking out of ballot box able to be easily removed and altered

        4

        0

    • They do check against the master role so that only one vote can be registered against each name. Doesn’t mean the one vote was the actual person though.

      5

      0

        • From memory the scrutineer crosses your name off the roll when you give your electoral voting card over. Not sure what the process is if you don’t have one.

          5

          0

          • Yes they cross your name off, where you vote!
But what is to stop you or someone else going around different voting booths?
Only a recount would possibly pick it up!

            5

            0

            • No the rolls are cross checked so if you vote more then once it will get picked up. Rather archaic though using a printed roll form when each card could have had a bar code and a reader with a pad. Could have used up all those pads they bought during covid.

              6

              0

              • So if I quickly went to a number of polling booths pretending to be Joe Bloggs I could make a number of false votes.

                How bloody pathetic.

                3

                0

          • But you could go to multiple voting stations in same electorate and get red line at each station – how do they know?

            4

            0

            • They check the local rolls off against the master. If you name is crossed out on more than one local roll then you will get a visit from Mr Plod.

    • Compared to the last time I voted in South Africa its a fucking Joke. You had to produce your ID book ( we all had one) and then we got finger printed with an ink that shows up under ultra violet light. For a very good document on th SA election issues in South Africa in 1994 read this. … https://successfulsocieties.princeton.edu/sites/successfulsocieties/files/Policy_Note_ID114.pdf I must admit I prefer the New Zealand version….

I know you are a “bigggly” ACT supporter. I just had a look at comments on a KB thread. Really interesting to see so many saying they are voting electorate National and party vote ACT. I am sure most, if not all, would have been two ticks blue last election.

    • About time to make National reflect on what their philosophies are and how they should align their policies.

If in a National large majority electorate, a vote to the Act member that is standing will also help National Party to think again how far they have strayed, and what the electorate’s wishes may be.

It may be the “in thing” to chase after middle ground, and seems to be ok with going more left.
But what about the ones who then figure you have simply sold your principles to gain power.
A slimmed down majority will help with their thought processes.

The real case is how to also lead people to understand, through good reasoning, debate, discussion, how society is supposed to work, and that some decisions are not just about throwing other peoples money around.
Some of that is sowing the seed, into knowledge, through the education system, into media, into the community.

Some weed seeds have been planted decades ago, and no weeding has been done.

    • Good observation R12. You can put me in that category (electorate Nats, party Act). We have a bizarre dichotomy happening in NZ. It reflects the insanity of the USA – where shithole dense population centres on the coasts (NY & California dominate the popular vote). Except we have the masses in Auck & Christchurch buoying up the PR vote for the deeply unrepresentative left, look at the electorate map and it is a catastrophically different story. Last election:
      – National 41 electorate seats
      – Labour 29 electorate seats

The electoral map was all blue. Yet we still have an extremist left wing government!

Trusting gullible NZ exchanged a simple, understandable, tried and tested electoral system for a lottery. With FPP on election night – you knew who was going to govern. A result was a simple, understandable result. Under MMP – it’s a crapshoot. Pork barrel politics gets rewarded, democracy gets punished.

Perverse incentives are in place too. Act will get a seat for every 20k or so votes. National will only get one list seat per 75k list votes, winning electorate seats actually makes your party vote count less!

Elections should be simple, understandable and practical for even the stupidest members of society, with MMP you have to apply complex game theory analysis to work out who to vote for to maximise the likelihood of the result you want.

I don’t like any of the choices on offer. I want a Margaret Thatcher or a Donald Trump. Leighton Baker is probably the closest (but a long way short) but I have to settle for Seymour who is a 45% fit for my views.

      What a fucking shitshow!

      3

      0

      • This had to happen for National as they only have one possible support partner. What I hope is that those on the left have NOT latched onto the same idea by splitting between Labour and party voting the Greens.

      • DP ,
Like you I don’t like the options in front of us at all.
Half these idiots get in without having the personal scrutiny of the balance box.
Result is ministers with no democratic support eg. Peters Sage Genter, etc etc.
        MMP is a disaster.

At the very least there needs to be a change where electorate MPs only can be
        Ministers!

        1

        0

        • Oh Falcon. I like that idea about only being a Minister if you can win a seat. It certainly would filter out the party toady types who get rewarded for being useless and deeply unappealing to their electorate (thinking of Sue Moroney and Andrew Little).

          That’s a great idea.

They believe that their governments are benign and
would never harm them. Add in the digital cocaine of

is the perfect distractions for the masses.

  23. I voted yesterday.
What a horrendous experience! Being yelled at to sign in with the Covid App/wipe my pen down afterward etc etc
They were blatantly looking for an excuse to deny me my Democratic right to vote. (They know it is most likely Right Wing voters who will object being spoken to/treated like Dogs)
I simply do not trust those Lefty weirdos who are manning the Polling Booths- So I made sure I acted as ‘Lefty’ as possible when I was in their vision.
They are supposed to be politically neutral- But My God they are clearly all glassy-eyed ‘Jacindamaniacs’!

    • Weird that rules that basically amount to voter suppression could’ve been just pushed through by diktat under the emergency Health powers.

It’s clear on the Elections NZ website that this was brought in for this election. Given Jacinda said this is a “Covid Election” in my view these rules constitute electioneering -and as such are a breach of the Act. Good luck getting any of fucking Finlayson’s leftie legion of judges to uphold that though.

  24. Tame loves a ‘got you’, but its not much of one.

‘OK, you got me’ – Seymour admits not following own advice on masks at Level 1
    https://www.tvnz.co.nz/one-news/new-zealand/ok-you-got-me-seymour-admits-not-following-own-advice-masks-level-1?auto=6199507597001

Tame then asked Seymour if he wore a mask when travelling to the studio this morning.

“Well no I wasn’t, what I am saying is one person doing it is probably not going to make the change,” ACT’s leader replied.

“But you’re a political leader,” Tame said implying he should be leading by example before continuing to press him on Taiwan’s mask wearing measures.

    5

    • I saw an image last week of Jacinda allowing a small child, while held in the arms of its mother, to suck a greenstone pendant she was wearing. Not a mask in sight. Not sure then why Tame heckles the leader of ACT when the PM has seemingly moved well past Covid-19 precautions.

    • Was that pre-op Jack or Post-op Jacqui?
The Hormone treatment has certainly worked on the voice making it very feminine.

I was at a meeting with Seymour yesterday – Saturday – and he was not wearing a mask.

There were about 6 candidates and they were mixing and mingling without being fear driven.
Basically, being people while we still have a visage of democracy for the next week.

Wee Jacqui is probably riddled with fear and believes his/her (select option) own media filth’s wall to wall bollocks.
Or just being a prick, before it is lopped off and turned inside out.

Collins’ visit to Auckland’s Smales Farm Market saw the National leader meet her mug’s maker, buying the crockery illustrated with a cartoon picture of herself, along with the quote, ‘My husband is Samoan so, talofa’.

Walking through the market, Collins spotted the mug, saying, “I love it”.

“That’s a good piece of humour. People should have a bit more fun.”

NZ Election 2020: Christopher Luxon doesn’t rule out National Party leadership bid
    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/2020/10/nz-election-2020-christopher-luxon-doesn-t-rule-out-national-party-leadership-bid.html

Collins was out shaking signs on Sunday with Christopher Luxon – widely tipped as a future National Party leader.

And Luxon was doing nothing to dampen those rumours – in fact, stoking them by refusing to rule out a leadership bid. Does Collins need to watch her back for Luxon?

“No, Chris Luxon’s got to win Botany. Chris Luxon’s got to get to Wellington,” he replied.

And when asked if he wants to be Prime Minister he said: “The first best step to get to Parliament. Just take it one step at a time.”

He could be up against Ardern who on Sunday was presenting her vision for 2030, which includes herself.

Jacinda Ardern has used the power of a political rally to attack National and remind supporters how she handles a crisis.

“Obviously I wouldn’t be running right now if I didn’t want to be the leader and Prime Minister of New Zealand,” she said.

At Labour’s first real rally of the campaign, Ardern channelled the crises that augmented and cemented her popularity as Prime Minister.

“You truly get to know your Government and your leaders when disasters strike,” she said.

    5

    • Key did enough damage to National,
NZ does not need another dose from Luxon .

Judith Collins has done the hard yards and is now getting more sorely needed trust from traditional National voters

Luxon has not done anything to deserve any party leadership, or indeed a parliamentary seat.
Luxon should be loudly supporting his leader If he is sincere.
      Politics is about trust
Naked self interest does not inspire trust.

  29. For those following the Denver shooting this morning the latest is that the shooter was a security guard employed by a local tv channel. All may not be what it seems though, the following is from a comment on the zerohedge article about the incident:

“some good local intel on Channel 9 in the comments section here:

    https://www.citizenfreepress.com/breaking/trump-supporter-shot-and-killed-at-denver-rally/

For those who do not live in this region, 9News Denver is a radical leftist news operation. They are an NBC affiliate, so of course they insert any NBC Trump hating national news stories into their local news. Of course, 9News runs their own hit pieces on Trump and local Republicans, while never criticizing Democrats. I believe their news director is a far leftist white woman.

Recently, they were forced to fire their longtime morning weatherman Marty Coniglio, a vile Marxist creep who was defending Antifa when they were assaulting federal police while they protected the federal courthouse in Portland. Coniglio called the federal police NAZI’s and defended the tactics of Antifa (like shooting lasers in cops eyes). Even this was too much for channel 9 NEWS, but the station never apologized for the Coniglio fiasco.

Note this psychopathic leftist local news channel has never ran one story that made Trump look good, and I really mean none, zero. As you might expect 9News promoted the Russia hoax, the impeachment, and ran with every unproven “scandal” story to make Trump look like Lucifer. All summer they ran pro-BLM stories all the time (while ignoring the riots) and since they spread Covid ****, they were big proponents of the lock down, complete with their own medical doctor contributors, who seemed to sadistically enjoy telling you to stay home and wear your damn mask. Every one of their anchors, news, sports, weather is far left. They are not alone, as all the other local TV news stations in Denver are almost as bad. Yes, national news is horrific, but your local news is also the enemy of the United States, and after this tragic incident, I hope someone sues the hell of of this evil news channel.
