  1. How could I possibly say good morning? Life as we know it is/has passed and behold the future. All we can hope for is that Trump gets in and stems the flow of the left. On saying that, I have a sinking suspicion that the leftards have taken over the world, so anything may happen. Meanwhile back in the land of what ever it will be called now, all the stupid who voted this shiftiest lot in, happy 3 years or even maybe 4. you will get everything you deserve, and those that stuck to two votes Act or National, I hope it won’t affect you too badly and you can hide anything you want to be hidden off shore or where ever the government cannot get their hands on it.

    • The question is whether Australia actually offers an escape from Marxism? Looking at Victoria and Qld and WA and their equally fucking disgusting leaders – I’d say they are going to follow NZ’s path into Idiocracy.

      • Gladys is not looking so hot in NSW.
Esp. as people feel cheated that they thought she was Ms. Clean.
The resentment has come to the surface again that she wants to abandon the 20 year old Homebush stadium built for the 2000 Olympics for a whole new stadium – taxpayers money as a vanity project.
It is a bit rumpty there.

Dont forget the utter madness of ‘two heads’ Tasmania .

  2. So the country voted for self-destruction, what happened?

Well probably the darkest election result I’ve seen in my lifetime. Sure, we know the ‘bought and paid for’ media supported the Covid lie. Sure, we know big tech has been waging war against National. Sure, the Chinese launched Covid to attack the economies of the West in support of the anti-capitalist parties. Sure Judith was National’s third leader in five months and she inherited a total trainwreck.

But does this explain a totally anomalous result?

I don’t think so. I think there is something far more fundamental that has caused this disaster.

I think the bottom line is that under John Key’s disastrous leadership, National’s insane “Labour Lite” strategy has led the centre-right electorate to be fully convinced that National do not offer any real alternative to actual Labour. The idiotic decision to appoint Bridges instead of allowing Judith a full three years to dismantle Covid Cindy’s credibility was a clear sign that they were married to the idiotic “diversity” agenda. Losing Steven Joyce to this idiotic cause was a near fatal blow to the horsepower within National. I could go on listing things:
    – the serial idiocy of appointing stammering Todd Muller and the most hated woman in politics – Nikki Kaye to the leadership
    – the utter betrayal of any sense of right or wrong by supporting the gun ban
    – the idiotic Bill English move on gender pay equity
    – the earlier idiocy of appointing Bill English (a record-breakingly bad failed leadership operator) as leader
But I lost faith in National as a credible centre-right party 3 elections ago. It seems that it was too late for Judith to salvage the vote. The silent majority of centre-right voters are now resolutely looking for an alternative home for their vote. The meteoric rise in Act’s vote is as much proof as you can ask for this problem, this election Act have increased their party vote by almost 1450%!

The challenge for National is what do they do to win back the 10% of their core vote from the Act and NC voters?

I fear that National will be unable to re-calibrate from their current strategy. I fear that they are going to double down on the Labour Lite strategy and will drive themselves further to the left under Judith’s successor. The smart thing to do would be to line up behind Judith and do a clean out of the progressives within the party and re-establish themselves as a true centre-right party. The economic mayhem that we’re going to experience leading up to 2023 is going to create a split off of the Covid Karen conservatives who defected to Labour – but National is going to lose them to Act. Seymour is the future of conservatism and so long as his caucus doesn’t implode – they can turn National into the 3rd party of NZ, the party of the country farmers.
National’s voters didn’t leave National. National left their supporters.
The real concern for our democracy is it looks like over 7% of votes are going to be wasted. That is a total disgrace that 7% of the electorate are disenfranchised.

As always, MMP is a fucking disgraceful abortion and it has to go. If we are retaining PR we need to have some kind of transferable vote system so that 7% of our fellow voters aren’t sidelined.

The result is so extreme, I’m half expecting some ‘irregularities’ to come to light. The count was suspiciously slow, given that 1.5 million votes were ready to be counted from the start of the day. But congrats to the country, they say you get the government you deserve 😂

      6

      8

      • aww yeah, and that too.
Notional wont learn anything from this.
ACT and Seymour are the new opposition.

        9

        0

        • ACT was the true opposition in 2019 esp. over costly, stupid Zero Carbon plus stood up for the gun owners.
Given the rural area miserable fail by Notional yesterday, the chances are they pissed off gun owners – bigly
And Nicole McKee is in for ACT at #3.
          Well done N Mc.
So, not really the ‘new’ opposition.
Seymour has done a Sterling job in the last few years and has been rewarded.

          Notional were not the opposition.
There was no opposition from them.
Maybe the pope told them to turn the other cheek (while collecting a salary)

          They were too busy
          -sending dick pics
-leaking to media filth esp. toxic tova
          -playing musical chairs with leaders
          – having breakdowns
-recruiting candidates even more woke than themselves
-resigning and unresigning, then re- resigning
-agreeing with most of what Liebour were doing – hence why bother voting for those Gnat Geezers when they agree with what the govt is doing. Probably led to some voters abstaining.
-not shouting from the rooftops to support the rural sector given it was and will remain under attack. This has been more pronounced in 2020 as there is more pressure on farmers to perform for the country with tourism and overseas student income goneburger.
Meantime it is not the farmers stock shitting (a natural thing) it is the shitting on farmers led loudly and shouted from the rooftops (literally) by Marxist media scum.

As much as people criticise Winston he knew how to be opposition.
Hell, he was even opposition when a coalition partner !!

It is possible Notional see themselves as ‘the natural party of rule’.
          Hence they don’t ‘do opposition’
We saw that in the last 3 years.
That is arrogant but possibly true.
However in the last half century- the time that affects us – from 1970 to 2020 Notional has led Govt for 29 years and Liebour for 21 years.
Not a lot in it really.
They are Not the ‘natural party of govt’.

          • “-leaking to media filth esp. toxic tova”

              • I did not think I would need the // as I knew I would touch a nerve.

I should added to the above –if National knew there were lots of leaks to Newshub why did they not shut it down as soon as they found out. The sort of discipline was something Key was good at.

                0

            • Sadly I was not surprised at National’s MP’s white anting their own leader as it has become expected from the infighting idiots, but leaking during an election campaign against the leader was treachery. Those responsible should be rooted out and first in line to be kicked out the door.

    • Some excellent analysis there DP except that I respectfully disagree about disenfranchised voters.
2.7% (provisional) that voted for Winston First deserve to be disenfranchised !!
I would add in TOP there at 1.4%
So more than half of that ‘wasted vote’ I dont feel so bad about.
      Not at all 🙂

    • “Losing Steven Joyce to this idiotic cause was a near fatal blow to the horsepower within National”

The power brokers have to tap Steven Joyce’s shoulder and get him in to replace “trust fund” Goodfellow and they have to ensure Judith Collins is allowed to stay on as leader.

I said it a number of times —the fix for MMP is to move to SMP like the Japanese and Sth Koreans. The only real change is the party vote ONLY counts for list seats. That is, when the divvy up happens the electorate seats are moved aside and the list seats are divided up by the party vote percentages.
Labour are going to see what happened to National last time —because they got a lot of electorate seats they will get only few list seats relative to their high party vote count.

      6

      0

      • I see what you are saying on SMP.

The weird thing about the electorate votes – and generally these MPs do work hard – unlike a lot of list critters such as Gween party MPs – is that under MMP the parliament is made up of the party vote and slightly distorted by single electorate MPs under the 5% threshold.

In essence the electorate seat is a ‘popularity contest’ for the local MP
It makes sweet FA difference to the makeup of Parliament.

Hence the fairer way of SMP you mention.
Apart for Germany it is only Lesotho and Bolivia that join NZ with this bizarre system
Even Albania and Romania dropped it after 2 elections.

        4

        0

      • That’s a much more sensible suggestion re SMP.

I was talking to two well educated friends who work at the most senior levels in their two respective organisations. Neither of them understood how the electorate seats are basically meaningless and that ONLY the list vote is important (or that whatever you win on electorate can be rendered less impactful if you don’t do well in the list votes). They thought the reason Covid Cindy did well was because of them stealing a bunch of electorate seats thus inflating their seats – I tried to explain about proportionality – they just didn’t get it!

Which really emphasises what a rort MMP is. The system you describe where there are separate electorate seats which ones electorate vote goes towards and separate list seats WITHOUT the retarded proportionality requirement ruled by the list vote – makes so much more sense.

  3. More than half of the NZ voting public actually managed to see through the teeth ,the smile ,and the lies and bullshit that only Cindy has been spinning for three years ,,take heart from that.
In saying that there is now no doubt that NZ has the dumbest population in percentage of people over 18 in the developed World.

I would be interested to hear what you thought were the effective parts of ACT’s organisation (if you are allowed to say it publically). It seemed to me they were very nimble and had some quick thinkers in the background ( when an issue came up they had a well thought out public response out well within 24 hours).
Their team cannot have been as big as National’s but their communication was miles ahead.

    • I have to agree with that revtech I am stunned at the stupidity of people voting the red lot into power with such a majority. National in the main deserved the loss, they have been too leftist for most and what was the difference between the parties? It was a case of little far too late, all the pissing about with Simon Bridges then Todd (how did he retain his seat??) Muller I think they definitely need a reboot and to get back to their founding document. David Seymour is the future PM if he can keep control of the new members in Parliament he is a shoe in for the future of politics in New Zealand.

  4. We have bred a population who expect to be cared for with the taxpayer covering all their living expenses with a never ending chorus of “we want more”. Cindy and the greens promised warm, dry and cheap housing for everyone, no requirement to justify your lack of not attempting to work and constant higher amounts from the taxpayer for all those who have their sticky hands out for all that cash raining down. So they have fired up the printing presses to keep everyone sweet until after the election, justified by “kindness”.

Gone is the expectation of NZ people standing on their own two feet, building their best life for themselves and their family by hard work and independence. Going without, now there is a lost concept. The state as a safety net for those who trip and need a hand up is now a hammock with the state promising to pay for every need, because “kindness”. Just look when things go wrong for people, straight to the media to complain how they are missing out on “their fair share”.

The Left’s social engineers have been educating NZ young to be soft and greedy for what others have and now they have set their plan in motion. Welcome to Cindy’s nirvana. Kindness for everyone, until the quantative easing no longer works.

  5. Mixed feelings about result.

We are now looking at presidential style politics that National will have to catch up with.

Currently National does not have anyone with the X factor !!!!

    7

    0

    • Few are blessed with the X factor. Cindy has it & John Key had it in spades. The only other contender in a long while was Winston Peters & he wasted the talent he had.

I fail to see any rising stars amongst the lot voted in yesterday.

  6. Part of a comment by “Aunty” on DPF’s ‘My Twitter’ thread:

……”The End of Life Choices Bill. Too many National MPs revealed themselves to be both out of touch with and unrepresentative of their electorates and constituents. It’s all very well having religious beliefs and feelings, but the National Party clearly has too many ‘Christians and Catholics’ which has rendered the party tone deaf and at odds with the people over a vital issue that is of deep personal importance to them. Comments made by some National Party members and supporters, and MPs, during the End of Life Choices Bill has rubbed a lot of people up the wrong way. You just got pay back. “……

There’s more to it than that but National’s ultra social conservatism has cost them dearly. The Mad Queen & Labour didn’t win the election…….the Godaddled lost it for National.

Of note was that the rural sector abandoned Notional.
….Or ….identifying that Notional abandoned them.
The lack of spine over the gun laws and the anti farmer Carbon shit is very real

Gnats antics especially mid year really burned a lot of ‘Bridges’

They absoludely need to take out full page ads dissociating from that unlanced boil known as Matthew Hooton.

Notional need to go to all the stores nearby and buy up all the bleach and start a massive cleaning operation.

    • Always interesting to note.

I imagine few here would have much time for Tony B.liar, the former PM of Britain.
Much delayed hatred from the people in the UK esp when they see what he left them (a steaming pile of immigrant invaders).

Anyhow, it is interesting to note about religious conversion.
B.liar converted officially to being catholic… After he was PM.
Obviously he was there all along and huuuuuge proponent of Fabian Socialism but as PM of a country that heads ‘the Church of England’ he held back officially converting until he moved to his more overt war-mongering and globalisation stance after his time as PM.

Relevance: you don’t necessarily know what is going on with these people – are they secretly practicing another religion we do not know about.

I would have still been a green/leftie when I started teaching…so I was happy enough to be a PPTA member – but the cracks had appeared by the time I’d left – having seen the union protecting useless teachers, and observed much uncollegial behaviour by teachers.

  16. SWARBRICK, Chlöe (Gre) 9,060 votes
    WHITE, Helen (Lab) 8,568 votes
    MELLOW, Emma (Nat) 7,566 votes

Full credit to Emma Mellow who was only selected weeks out from the election.
Green Swarfega looks like she is in with 500 vote lead before specials.
People who voted for her are ‘special’.

Without a biased massive media drive that would not have happened.

Never, ever say the media filth ‘report’ .
They skew, lie, misrepresent, cheat, steal ideas, do drugs, go to war on people they do not like and are generally overall arsewipes.
But they do not ‘report’ in the traditional sense.

    However they are Chloe’s friend.
You judge people by the company they keep.

PS. she is ‘engaged’ to her lez girlfriend who just happens to ‘be media’

  17. Two perplexing issues for me with National’s dismal campaign was they barely mentioned Law and Order (Labour’s chilling plan to close all prisons/release the inmates by 2030) and they never once mentioned the Sroubrek affair.
I followed that matter closely when it happened. It was a disgraceful cover-up and had the potential to end her career.
Weird that National just kinda dropped it?

  18. Big announcement at 1pm from Bloomfailed being notified

Fark, are they announcing another lockdown within 24 hours of the election result.
    That is quick.

Is the All black game going to be ‘in camera’ ?
    OK, I’m stirring now.

      • I won’t be surprised if the Commie bitch
enforces another lockdown to stop people
leaving and so she can declare a “climate emergency.”
She has no one to keep her in check now.
There is a shitstorm coming, and it will be horrific.

        • The question is was it Bloomfield or someone from labour that hid that result! Sacking offence, Personally!

  19. Well colour me surprised.

I went to the Notional pardy website to see if they had updated the MPs.
At the changeover for Judith it was really slow – at least 2 days and that was during a work week.

Well hell, now to see anything on the Notional Website
    https://nationalparty.nationbuilder.com/forms/user_sessions/new
You have to sign in with an email address or social media account

    What a bunch of pillocks.
No Mates Notional make sure they get further away from people and communication.
    Dumb diddly dumb dumb

    How bad is that !!
You cannot casually look up the Team, policies, values etc
    Closed shop.

    In 1976 the joke was:-
    Q. What is the hardest publication to find ?
    A. The 1975 National Party manifesto

I guess that ‘lack of transparency’ is contagious.
Do we need to wear masks ?
Do we need to self isolate after reading Notional party policy?

Which begs the question: Exactly WHAT is the NZ national Party and WHAT does it stand for?

When compared to the ‘Founding Document’s ‘Statement of Intent’, the answer to both would seem to be ‘Very little’.

    How the mighty doth fall…

(And the pity is, that under it’s current administration, the party is unlikely to change).

    • When formation of the National Party was mooted in 1936 the objectives of the party were stated to be: “To promote good citizenship and self-reliance; to combat communism and socialism; to maintain freedom of contract; to encourage private enterprise; to safeguard individual rights and the privilege of ownership; to oppose interference by the State in business, and State control of industry”.

      https://teara.govt.nz/en/1966/political-parties/page-11

The party’s principles, as revised in 2003, sought “a safe, prosperous and successful New Zealand that creates opportunities for all New Zealanders to reach their personal goals and dreams’, which ‘we believe … will be achieved by building a society based on the following values: loyalty to our country, its democratic principles and our Sovereign as Head of State; national and personal security; equal citizenship and equal opportunity; individual freedom and choice; personal responsibility; competitive enterprise and rewards for achievement; limited government; strong families and caring communities; sustainable development of our environment.”

      https://teara.govt.nz/en/national-party/page-4

Shortly afterwards control of the party was passed over to the Vatican. The bit about “individual freedom & choice” is now redundant.

  22. But will she be allowed to complete what is necessary for National to fix itself? Commonsense economic policies, retaining Judith as leader, and loyalty for her instead of self-interest from MPs would be a start…

Judith Collins says she’s staying on as National leader after losing election

Judith Collins doesn’t expect to be challenged as National Party leader following the party’s extremely poor showing in the election, saying the party “needs stability”.

    • Good on you Judith !! Stick to your guns. The others through their stupidity with Muller, threw you a hospital pass. You caught it and did as well as could be expected , if not far better. So now is the time to have some spine and stare down any doubters.

        • Before she took on the leadership some one said/wrote she would not do it unless she was asked. Presumably she was asked but on thinking it about it, I would be surprised if she did not get a “guarantee” she would not be removed if they lost —given the timing that would be a reasonable request.

    • Labour are a party of cunts. Led by a lying,
socialist cunt. The election was NEVER about
politics or plans for the future. It was always about
Jacin-duh. The cult following she has , promoted by the
stinking piles of shit in the ‘media’ were always going
to ensure her victory. Cult leaders like Jacin-duh are adept
at brainwashing their devotees. That has happened.
This country is in the hands of a dangerous cult.

  27. Congrat’s David, Act had a good night.

ACT Party to see 10 MPs enter Parliament in best result in more than two decades

Despite a landslide victory for Labour, the ACT Party also saw its best result in more than two decades.

“We’re really humbled by the number of people who put their trust in us,” Seymour said this morning.

Seymour last night said the ACT team “are diverse in their backgrounds and their experience” and “come from all walks of life” – and will also be new to the job.

“The ACT Party is going to be a force to be reckoned with in this next Parliament,” new MP Brooke Van Velden added.

Ashley Bloomfield had a 1pm news conferance and you say the first you knew was at 6.11 pm today!
I say bullshit, he would have phoned you the day before as soon as he found out. Im pretty sure he would have found out yesterday, or this morning at the latest. If he had not you would gave sacked him for incompetence, you didn’t so you are bullshitting!
