    • M H, I thought he’d already kicked the bucket and had become a Biden voter.
Why doesn’t he just F/O and leave the Country alone ? I’ll tell you why, that guy actually thinks he was the best thing to have ever happened to NZ politics and that even now he is universally loved, he’s fricking delusional.

    • Interestingly , much of what he says is correct.
Fueling the property market is just foolish even if I do benefit but i look at my grand-kids and winder how they will ever own a house. They all work hard, save, and are not profligate spenders but some are caught up in the student loan debacle (for that’s what it is).
That policy has good intentions but the way it is run is appalling.
There’s a much better way to achieve and even better result without saddling these kids with this debt. And one where the slackers will get sidelined.
How ever the housing market is about to fall over. It will correct itself so if you are thinking of speck building watch out.
Auckland this year will issue around 19000 new residential consents. ( Around the same number have been given COC in thie last 12 months.)
Our immigration increase this year will be very low, 1700 in the the last 3 months.
Now add all the consents for Waikato and BOP to that and the rest of nz and there is no shortage of houses. Just rampant mind inflation. Much like the American situation. The press and its funders keep this going till it takes its natural turn.
The cost inflation of course, is in the land and Council Charges.

No one has even attempted to fix that yet.

      • There are apartment blocks going up everywhere. Most seem to have Chinese crews working on them. Rabbit hutches for immigrants?
Why has this country sold out it’s heritage of detached housing as the norm?

        • Such nice things being implemented not only at governmental national level, and also being reinforced at local government level.

Agenda 21 is full of positive values that nobody seriously disagrees with in principle, such as care of the environment and adequate housing for all. Like similar documents, Agenda 21:

          1] assumes the anthropogenic global warming narrative as a non-negotiable premise;
          2] assumes biodiversity as having a value that supersedes human rights;
3] asks for greater roles for the United Nations and the corporate-owned NGOs.

          https://stovouno.org/2020/02/19/agenda-21-and-how-it-plays-out/

Some New Zealanders can see it, though their voices are few.

The long play out of Agenda 21, morphing into more urgency, through Agenda 30 that will be declared “emergency” so that it can be commanded by the “great reset” & “build back better”

        • Odakyu-sen, It’s Cindies Belt and Road capitulation ,when Covid is under control Immigration from China will double what it has ever been in the past,,2 million dollar average Auckland house prices anyone???

          7

          0

          • Immigration from China is one way to guarantee a median Auckland house price of $2 million.

That’s the problem about not having a clear vision of your national identity (and yes, nationalism is a double-edged sword). I favor “civic nationalism” (when in Rome) but not “ethnic nationalism” (Rome for the Romans).

If everyone is a Kiwi then anyone can be a Kiwi and nobody is a Kiwi.

    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/2020/11/golriz-ghahraman-slams-national-over-misleading-wealth-tax-ad.html

National opposed the wealth tax policy, with leader Judith Collins saying in October the Greens were “coming after people’s money”.

“If you’ve got any money or assets, don’t think these guys have any plan to pay down debt other than to take your assets, and that’s what they’re after,” she said.

  2. This is clever. So far hand and arm 3D scanner but scanners for other body parts will be next.

Advanced technology 3D medical scanners designed at the University of Otago, Christchurch, are set to be sent for international trials.
    https://www.tvnz.co.nz/one-news/new-zealand/revolutionary-kiwi-designed-3d-medical-scanners-go-trial-around-world?auto=6210000456001

The compact machines are designed to take 3D images of the wrist and hand. You sit on a chair and reach into the device, then stay very still as it gets the images.

The scanner rotates, capturing detailed 3D images.

Its high quality imaging provides greater discrimination of bone, soft tissue, ligaments and cartilage.

  3. I went to Cuntdown in Barrys Point Rd yesterday.

I watched in horror on my way into the store as a young lady (mid 20’s?) took a plastic bag from the vegetable section, then apply disinfectant from the dispenser to the plastic, then go over to a trolly and wipe down the handle!

As she wondered past me I put on a fake coughing fit to test her reaction in an experiment.

    She utterly ignored me.

I guess in her little world it’s not people but things that spread coronavirus.

    Stupid bitch.

  5. Seems that an old fellow in a nursing home was being ask what he wanted for breakfast and he said….
“I would like some orange juice in one of those little paper cups used for urine samples. I want you to empty it but leave just enough in it that I can smell urine as I drink my orange juice. I want some eggs just barely cooked , very runny. Only put them in the pan for maybe 5 seconds at most and I want bacon. I want it very rare nearly raw” ….
At this point the person for the food facility responded “ I can’t serve you a breakfast like that” to which the old man said “why not you did yesterday?”

    • You have to wonder if the G.F. Carrie Symonds is a plant.
      This is high stakes politics.
Britain is a approx No 5 economy in the world, A nuclear power, and permanent member of the UN security council .
It is a pivotal player in world events.
Neither Germany nor Japan can officially claim to be a nuclear power and nor are they permanent members of the UN security council.

Symonds is an ultra leftie. In the Conservative Party of GB.
Her Daddy and maternal grandmother are journos. (BoJo was at one stage in his career)
-She went on to the University of Warwick, where she studied ‘art history’ and ‘theatre studies’
So, air head shit, but she snags the PM of Britain.
Not exactly a Marina Wheeler -lawyer to QC level or Cherie Bliar – lawyer to QC level.

      >In 2009, Symonds joined the Conservative Party as a press officer.
So, 21 years old, no formal training, no experience but right in there. How convenient.
      >Symonds became the Conservative Party’s head of communications in 2018,
Then stood down with conflict of interest over shagging BoJo..
      >She has been described as a “passionate animal rights defender” and is a patron of the Conservative Animal Welfare Foundation. Mmmm Patron as a 32 year old bimbo with nothing real achieved

      >in 2018 after leaving Cons party; taking up a job in public relations for the Oceana project
FYI:- Oceana, inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit ocean conservation organization focused on influencing specific policy decisions on the national level to preserve and restore the world’s oceans.
It conducts its own scientific research in addition to making policy recommendations, lobbying for specific legislation, and filing and litigating lawsuits
So a think tank/ NGO/ busy body with dubious funding sources.
      Sustainability; so much sustainability !!
      >Symonds has a kid and locks in BoJo.

So far Symonds looks like B. Hussein Obummer. No great intellect but conveniently on call for key turning points in history .
Perhaps an insurance policy when T May was dreadfully unpopular in 2018.
      1 Jan 2018. Boris Johnson a man’s man, 1 July 2020 – a woke vegan soyboy.
      Mission accomplished.

Calling the shots in No 10 and getting senior staff either fired or making life so comfortable they go.
One does have to consider ..is she a modern ( 21st century )Mata Hari.

      Sent in to control ?
We saw the complete breakdown in NZ into a quivering, woke leftie of Fruity Farrar once a woman (I’m guessing here ) got its hooks into him.
Similarly, Johnson has turned into a woke, indecisive, inarticulate quivering wreck.

It is not out of the realms that Symonds is a plant
We all knew of Johnson’s susceptibility to a bit of beaver.
      Just too easy.

Is this a modern day Samson and Delilah?
      Did she ‘cut his hair’

Oddly enough Johnson may need to turn to Queen Elton John for guidance here (lyrics Bernie Taupin) Title Someone Saved my LifeTonight.
“And someone saved my life tonight sugar bear
You almost had your hooks in me didn’t you dear
You nearly had me roped and tied
      Altar-bound, hypnotized
Sweet freedom whispered in my ear
      You’re a butterfly”
      and
“A slip noose hanging in my darkest dreams
I’m strangled by your haunted social scene
Just a pawn out-played by a dominating queen”

  6. Basically the circle of virtue has really become private jet-set of Davos.

U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres demanded efforts be made to “use the COVID-19 recovery effort to build green climate-resilient economies and work towards carbon neutrality by 2050.”
    .
“This will, incidentally, also drive the job creation that will reduce inequality and address the air pollution that is choking many Asian cities.
I commend the recent decisions of China, Japan and the Republic of Korea committing to net zero emissions,” the veteran Portugese socialist added.
    .
“Countries also need to put a price on carbon and end subsidies for fossil fuels.
Our response to the COVID-19 crisis must be aligned with the Paris Agreement and Sustainable Development Goals.
In all these efforts, you can count on the support of the United Nations system.”
    .
His call mirrors that by the World Economic Forum (WEF) back in July foreshadowing its desire to rebuild the world in a fashion of its own design once the coronavirus pandemic is over.

    https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2020/11/15/u-n-chief-guterres-demands-end-to-coal-fired-power-in-a-reset-world/

The market demands, China & India will supply.
In the meantime China has booked ahead for a number of decades to build a number of coal fired power stations, not only in China, but through out the world
India will still also continue building.

Do you believe they will be paying carbon taxes? of a virtuous recyclable sustainable circle, yeah right.
Sleight of hand, shell games, and clipping the ticket, kickbacks, just like Venezuelan smartmatic machines.

The sheer increase of electric power will be based on coal, while a dusting of solar, wind etc. will be sprinkled on like fairy dust.

      • Seemed to have had the concept back in 2012, but there does not seem to be much further development.
Seems to become the word in 2014, but no development seems to have happened.
It may have heat advantage over 100 degrees, but that sounds like in a commercial aspect.
Is it the lead “paint” form, though that can be encapsulated, or does that lose to much.

Are environmental justice warriors against the recycling of lead from lead batteries?, then thinly spreading the lead around?
It has been no problem in the name of mercury for fluorescent light bulbs.

Extracting lithium or cobolt has not hindered those mining for that, so what is the problem with forming the lead into Pereskovite Solar panels?

The demand is there, marketing would be easy, so why no supply?

If it is so competitively better than silicon, then why the hesitation in doing it?
Are the costs of producing prohibitive? Patent problem?

Is any one making Pereskoviten Solar panels?

  7. A further discussion, debate needs to be made in NZ, to recognize the strains on NZ infrastructure and the consequences, that truly affect the citizens in NZ,

To restore the sovereignty stolen from the French people, it’s imperative that the power of judicial institutions is removed so that referendums on critical issues like immigration can be held, Éric Zemmour, a prominent French intellectual recently argued.

During comments made on the CNews program Face à Face, Zemmour — the author of The French Suicide — made the case that the only way to stop terror attacks from increasing is to transfer the immense power held by unaccountable judges to the French citizenry, so that they themselves can decide on key policy issues like immigration,
    https://rmx.news/article/article/zemmour-france-needs-nationwide-referendum-on-immigration-and-to-take-back-power-from-unaccountable-judges

Well worth reading, as NZ has also gone down the French judicial disease way.

A little bit more about Zemmour and how the establishment want to quieten him down, 🙂
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C3%89ric_Zemmour

NZ will become locked in with the “great reset” and the “UN Global Migration Pact” which is supported by the International Socialist Youth. that runs our Government.

Can we effectively raise these judicial issues, for the good of the citizens here in NZ?

As apparently we have all been very naughty and not worn our masks or used Jacinda’s Covid app etc….
St Ashely and St Jacinda are seemingly hell-bent on cancelling Christmas- Can you imagine what this will do to retailers and the hospitality sector??

      • Just back from the local NW. It is a small, older store but in a good area where most can afford to buy whatever they wish. It was obvious the shelves aren’t stocked with the range of goods it used to have and some of the things I was looking for were no longer available. Even everyday items like decent sized packets of black pepper corns. The supply chain is definitely compromised. Are they getting us used to a smaller selection of goods? I stocked up on grocery items and bought a few goodies for Christmas and enough dried fruit, etc for two homemade Xmas cakes.

    • Have to agree with you there Mike, the media and other acolytes seem to be trying to play it down for some reason. It’s like having a mortgage and not being too sure what’s going to happen. You fix say 50% keep the rest floating and make sure you can move fast if you have to. Fixing the whole lot long term is utterly stupid but not at all surprising from these cretins.

    • Nothing will happen. It will be ” nothing to see here..all is fine”.
NZ needs Aldi to set up over here. Only when this happens is when you will see grocery prices fall. We are getting royally screwed by the two big sisters who have a duopoly on food and groceries. Like house prices, the cost of food will only continue upwards until real competition arrives.

      7

      0

      • Gee who would have thought that targetting farmers and shutting down the country, so crops rot in the ground, would put food prices up?

  10. Cindy and her prison reducing mob are not inclined to do anything to reduce crime. Last night when confronted with the rising tide of crime in NZ by the 501 returnees from Aussie she had only one thing to say, “It’s all Australia’s fault for their policy of deporting criminal kiwis.” She has no answers as it would mean cracking down on crime and her and her dumb lefties don’t believe in consequences for criminal behaviour. 🤨

  12. As Government reviews supermarket prices, Collins says it needs to answer to why big chains got advantage in lockdown
    https://www.tvnz.co.nz/one-news/new-zealand/government-reviews-supermarket-prices-collins-says-needs-answer-why-big-chains-got-advantage-in-lockdown?auto=6210208145001

However, this morning the National leader told media at Parliament, “I would’ve thought that one of the things that the Government could do is to address why it gave the big supermarket chains such an advantage during the lockdowns and cut out any competition from smaller business owners such as butchers and green grocers”.

Collins also said people in many cases would be finding it “very hard” to foot the bill at the checkout.

“My family found that during the first lockdown that the quality in terms of what was on offer didn’t seem to meet the prices that were being asked for and I actually thought it was an extraordinary situation where people were paying very high prices.

  13. I looked at this but became cynical. “Next time someone thinks a negative thought about the motives, intentions or trustworthiness of a politician”. (abridged)

    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/lifestyle/2020/11/constant-cynicism-could-increase-your-risk-of-heart-disease-us-researchers-find.html

In most people, stress activates a fight or flight response, but if the same event happens again, this response is dulled., However, highly skeptical people never experience this dulling, and will feel the same level of stress over and over again.

This repeated stress places increased strain on the cardiovascular system.

“Perhaps the next time someone thinks a negative thought about the motives, intentions or trustworthiness of a friend, co-worker or politician, they’ll think twice about actively engaging in that thought.”

  15. Not content with Cindy’s supermarket investigation into supermarkets, she’s got another one into first home buyers ability to buy a house!
Who will she get to run this? Twyford has offered but he just can’t be everywhere at once, no matter how hard he tries to prove his rightful place back at the top table!
It’s funny how for three years they were deaf to price gouging and all of a sudden everything happens at once!
First she has an investigation into the price of petrol, which went no where with the amount of tax, whacked on it! Crickets, was all that was achieved!
Who thinks that the dumbbroad will also call out the landlords for price gouging as well?
When it’s her government and it’s policies!
Someone cynical, would think she’s about to depart our shores and she’s gaining browny points, before she goes!

    6

    • So Labour and the Greens made it possible for landlords to only raise rents once a year and are now surprised when landlords increase the rent in a larger increment than they did when able to increase more slowly with more than one increase annually.

Also released today are our updated Birth and Death rates. Both are notable becuse they are each at record lows. But our infant mortality rate isn’t making any progress.
    https://www.interest.co.nz/charts/population/birth-and-death-rate

Data is as published by Statistics NZ quarterly.

The “birth rate” is live births per 1,000 mean estimated resident population.

The “death rate” is deaths per 1,000 mean estimated resident population.
Note that we have had to change the data to “year ended, each quarter” as Statistics NZ no longer make the “quarter only” data available.

    Meanwhile.
September population data was released today. It has risen to 5,101,400 and sitting +94,200 higher than a year prior. That is more than Whangarei (89,700). Population growth continues to slow, easing from +2.3% pa in the June quarter to +1.9% pa in September. Infometrics note: “Population growth for those aged below 65 is particularly weak, at just +1.4% pa and continuing to slow. In contrast, population growth for those aged above 65 was +4.3% pa and continues to trend upwards.” Perspectives on the median age are here.

  19. Just listened Leighton Smith’s podcast for last week. He read out part of an article written by an Aussie guy about polling. The guy said it is not talked about by pollsters but the industry response rate is down to about 3% –I presume he means that only 3 people in every hundred they call will participate in the poll. Amazingly low but also tells you why they are so hopeless.

The majority of the podcast was a discussion with Rodney Hide. Great stuff ! When he was an MP I thought he was OK but never really liked or disliked him. Listening to him today, it clearly shows the basic intellect of our current crop has dropped so much compared to his time in Parliament. He could out think most, if not all of them without really trying.

In the mean time word press still “kindly” hosts the likes of:-
    https://nycantifa.wordpress.com/
    https://intlantifadefence.wordpress.com/
“If this country doesn’t give us what we want, then we will burn down this system and replace it.” – Hawk Newsome, BLM Come on man, that is just an idea. 🙁 yeah right.
Need a shower to wash of the threats behind them.

It seems that between government, crony capitalism is trying to price blogs out of free speech.
To force moderators onto the free bloggers system, so then incrementally more so the government gains control.
A part of the “emergency” and being the UN “big reset”

Still good on you Conservative Tree House, fight on.
An ice breaker against the “hate speech” “thought crimes” to break the controlling socialists.

  21. What can you say about this?! The Queen is the Head of State of NZ.

‘Sick to my guts’ – Māori Party MP blasts Parliamentary oath of allegiance to Queen
    https://www.tvnz.co.nz/one-news/new-zealand/sick-my-guts-m-ori-party-mp-blasts-parliamentary-oath-allegiance-queen

The 120 MPs elected in last month’s election will take their seats in the house next Wednesday.

Each must recite an oath or affirmation to “bear true allegiance to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second, Her heirs and successors” in English or Te Reo Māori.

    • They’re not bitching about allegiance to the Queen so much as the lack of mention of the fucking Treaty.

For myself I have little in the way of problems with the Treaty as signed. I do however, have huge problems with the concept of it as a “living document” & the subsequent bullshit interpretations.

      • As an afterthought.

Any opposition to “the Crown” won’t fly within Maoridom. The provisions, imagined & real are between the tribes & the crown, not the government of NZ. If the crown goes 50% of the signatories don’t exist.

If it were otherwise then we would have been a republic twenty years ago.

        • Yeah THIS.

I have always thought, in my uneducated in all things TOW, that the agreement was between the natives and the BRITISH govt. The creation of our country NZ was the result of that agreement. So any beef that the natives have should be with the BRITISH govt, and not the govt of NZ.

You simply cannot have a grievance against the creation of the agreement.

So, when there are native people working and paying taxes to the NZ govt, they are paying for the grievances of their own people!

So, not only are the innocent other NZ taxpayers paying for all their bs, their own people are also paying for their own bs.

Should not their claims be lodged with the BRITISH govt???
I know that the native trough dwellers don’t care, but shouldn’t the upstanding law abiding, tax paying natives care?
          IQ test I guess…..

      • The Treaty clearly doesn’t say any of the things claimed in recent times. That came about through judicial conjuring, in the Lands case back in the 80’s.

Note there is zero recourse for the ongoing and outrageous treaty breaches by Maori. The Waitangi Tribunal only hears Maori claims.

    • if he doesn’t want to swear allegiance to Q.E., then he shouldn’t have stood for the NZ Parliament.
One thing goes with the other at the moment.

Perhaps if he waits a decade or so, he can grovel at the feet of some other overlord.

  22. The Labour Party’s largest ever caucus of Māori MPs has selected its co-leaders for the new term.
Northland MP Willow-Jean Prime and Te Tai Tonga MP Rino Tirikatene were voted in as co-chairs of the Māori caucus on Tuesday morning.
The Māori caucus within Labour meets regularly as a bloc of MPs within the party.
speaking in te reo Māori, Prime said there were now 15 members of the Māori caucus this term – the largest the party has seen.

National’s call to ask Reserve Bank ‘hard questions’ on rising house prices concerns Jacinda Ardern
    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/2020/11/national-s-call-to-ask-reserve-bank-hard-questions-on-rising-house-prices-concerns-jacinda-ardern.html

The FLP is essentially a way of pumping cheap money into commercial banks like ASB, ANZ and Westpac in the expectation they will pass it on to businesses and households.

These types of monetary policies are used to help reduce unemployment during a recession by decreasing interest rates in the hope that less expensive credit will entice businesses into borrowing more money and thereby expanding.

But National’s shadow Treasurer Andrew Bayly is worried the FLP is being rolled out without any requirement for the new lending to be targeted at productive investment. He fears it will add even more pressure to an already stretched housing market.

“Low-interest rates and the Reserve Bank’s money printing are simply adding fuel to the fire of New Zealand’s broken housing market,” Bayly said on Tuesday. “Since March, housing lending has increased by $8.7 billion while business lending has fallen by $6.1 billion.”

He said the Reserve Bank’s policies are becoming “highly contradictory”.

  25. A commonwealth country, where the PM of Canada is bestie to the PM of NZ.
A quick once over of Canadian history of using dubious vote counters.

Consider what happened in New Brunswick, a small Maritime province, during their 2014 general election.
The local election authority rented over 700 tabulating machines to count the votes, instead of the traditional by-hand method.
The race was neck-and-neck, and many thought the Conservatives would overtake the Liberals — but then, as though out of no where, “the tabulation of ballots was suspended Monday around 10:45 p.m. for almost two hours as concerns arose about technical glitches with memory cards and discrepancies with vote-counting machines.”

Two hours after that anomaly, the Liberals gained a commanding lead and formed government.
    https://www.rebelnews.com/dominion_voting_systems_has_a_history_of_controversy_in_canadian_elections

A number of instances of funny issues why some candidate was elected.
Nor did the Canadian media ever quibble either.
Whether Dominion machines or not, it is the software Smartmatic possibly installed.

    • A good question covering the hardware & the software.

Votes are counted manually by electoral officials in accordance with the
requirements of [1]section 178 of the Electoral Act 1993.

What also should be asked; are the scrutineers, observers from the different parties able to really watch & keep track of the tallies through their collation to the final result?

I think they are scrutinized, but I am not absolutely sure in all booths?.

      • True to a point but after 30 years & one day you own the old house. Over the years it is doubtful that, even allowing for interest plus capital repayments you will have paid more in rates, insurance, repairs than the total amount of rent.

Rent it for thirty years & you still don’t own the handle on the back door. If the sums worked out differently there wouldn’t be any landlords.

  27. Interesting read.
Tech entrepreneur Joe Lonsdale, who co-founded software company Palantir Technologies, told “Varney & Co.” on Wednesday that he moved his venture capital firm 8VC to Texas from California because of the state’s affordability and “dynamic economy.”
Lonsdale called himself “a proud Texan” and told host Stuart Varney that he moved a couple of months ago.
“Texas is a lot like going to California 40 to 50 years ago,” Lonsdale said. “It’s very welcoming, it’s a dynamic economy, it’s affordable.”
Texas is one of seven states, including Florida and Nevada, without a personal income tax.

    https://www.foxbusiness.com/business-leaders/palantir-co-founder-on-moving-company-from-california-to-texas

Now you will recall the Peter Theil and John Key are shareholders in Palantir.

“I’m a builder,” he responded. “I’ve been lucky to help build over ten successful companies, we invest in a lot more and when you try to hire someone in California you pay them $250,000 a year to come there and they feel poor.”

“You pay them that here and they are living really well,” he added, referring to Texas. “So as someone who builds and has to hire a lot people, [I would] much rather do that in a place with a reasonable cost of living, that’s easy to do business.”
