  1. Reminds me of the biggest marketing stuff up in NZ forever.
    Yep, I’m talking about MILO.

They had NZ’s no 1 brand and fucked it up by changing the recipe to suit the Muslims.
Lost most of their business despite being told by thousands of Kiwi’s that they just didn’t like the product anymore.
But, like most fuckwidiots they think they can recover their brand and so they have now have changed the printing on the pack so that it says “original NZ Flavour”.

Of course, they have added a flavour but they haven’t changed back to the original recipe’s. They are still using Palm Oil, they originally used animal fats, and the stuff is full of sugar.
So when they show a kid supping the “new/old” milo on the telly they are doing exactly what the health people don’t want them to do. Encourage kids to drink hi concentration sugars. Worse they show an overweight kid doing just that.

Does Nestles Marketing Dept. have any sense of the world?
Does their CEO give a shit?

    Send them packing.

    • Gave up Milo when they changed the recipe. Haven’t been back. Don’t mess with our childhood favourites.

      • I gave up Milo when I grew up and discovered beer.

Same soporific effect, better taste 😉

I don’t understand the problem though.

Nestle are a private company who, like most private companies (as in those not related to cabinet ministers, wheelbarrows etc.) live and die by their product.

If they make a mistake for whatever reason they pay the price. That is between their shareholders, the board and their customers who go elsewhere.

        That is how capitalism works.

    • They also changed the recipe of “Gold Blend” the brand of instant coffee I have drunk for 40 years. It now includes something they call “barista grounds” which leave a nasty black sediment in the bottom of the cup. I now drink Moccona and will not be going back. Great work Nestle.

  3. Te Hurihanganui anti-racism and bias school programme launches in Porirua
    https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/te-manu-korihi/391681/te-hurihanganui-anti-racism-and-bias-school-programme-launches-in-Porirua
“The associate Minister for Education Kelvin Davis has launched a $42m programme to counter racism and bias within schools, Te Hurihanganui, in Porirua today”.

The amount of money this country spends on airy fairy programmes like this one in different state sectors is staggering especially when the effectiveness of them is just about impossible to measure.
Lots of people making good money out of selling smoke to successive governments using guilt as a marketing concept.

    • One can assume the schools run by the religion of peace will be exempt from this shit. That video posted last night is a disgusting example of reverse racism and religious bigotry. But it’s them, so we must shut up and look the other way.

    • So Maori kids failing/not turning up to class is ‘Racism and Bias’?
Seems everything is Whitey’s fault these days….

      • What pisses me off is the constant beat-up of the “poor Maori” statistics. How about some success stories FFS? I used to work with a lovely Maori woman who has seven kids (yes to one man!) and is a chartered structural engineer on a 6-figure salary. She is a christian and is tough as nails. How about the local Maori bloke who owns his own logging company and employs a couple dozen staff?

        0

        • Or well Maori do…overseas; where they cannot whinge about “colonial oppression” or whatever other garbage they like to peddle in this country.

          0

          0

            • Quite possibly. You’ve reminded me of some old conversations I’ve had with Maori. So old, it was before whanau had become a du jour word of the NZ Left or bureaucrats.

The first thing any enterprising Maori had to do was flee from their whanau. If they made the mistake of keeping in contact and they were making any money, their whanau would basically come and sponge off of them. Their whanau were the biggest impediment to success for these Maori.

It’s probably a factor on why Maori are often successful overseas. I also believe that being away from the pandering by Leftards and government also helps them.

              0

              0

              • All successful Maori I’ve met have ditched the ‘whanau’ concept, usually via geographical distance. Of course, my experience should only be taken as anecdotal.

My anecdotal evidence seems to align with overseas Maori OTOH.

        • I wasn’t raised here either, but after 26 years of life in NZ I’ve seen both sides of the issue. All of my Maori friends are working Joes like me. They aren’t whining militants. I also see the stereotypical welfare queens and “tough guys”at my local liquor store.

See Colinxy commented on the poms as well?.

Not sure if I would call them New as they are second hand and 20 years old. Add 4 to 5 years when they eventually arrive.

  7. NZ’s prisons a ‘colonial eyesore’ that should be abolished, expert says
    https://www.stuff.co.nz/national/113359223/nzs-prisons-a-colonial-eyesore-that-should-be-abolished-expert-says

Amazingly ridiculous article by some visiting “expert” about his utopian ideas on abolishing prisons and adopting indigenous justice.
Firstly I’m not sure how teaching sociology and Africana Studies(whatever nonsense that is) makes you an expert on justice reform but more importantly I’m wondering if by indigenous justice he means the mob lynchings, necklacing and stoning of witches which is routinely dished out in his native Nigeria or maybe he is possibly referring to the enslavement or cannibalism of enemies which was the norm pre European in NZ.
So many possibilities when you have diversity.

    • Every time I hear a Leftie bleating on about how we should abolish prisons I intend to ask them what they suggest we do with Mr Tarrant…..and is he welcome to serve a ‘Community based Restorative Sentence’ on their street?

      0

      0

      • Although I’ve lived in NZ most of my adult life, I still cannot relate to the justice system here. I grew up knowing full well what happens to criminals in the USA- you get punishment alright. My high school buddy got into trouble in his 20’s- nothing violent, but he forged some cheques and got busted with drugs. He served 7 years in a maximum security prison before he was even eligible for parole. You could murder my entire family in NZ, claim poverty and meth addiction, colonialism, and get released on bail!

      • Leftards seriously believe all crime is due to the existence of classes: get rid of social classes and you will get rid of crime.

That it has never worked never seems to bother them. After all, they also hold that communism has never been implemented correctly before either.

    • Makes me sick. I re-watched an older (circa 2016) interview between Tomi Lahren (hot white blonde girl, patriotic & conservative) vs Trevor Noah (black man, woke as hell) about black lives matter movement. The host Trevor said “The penal system in America was designed to oppress black people, it was designed to enslave people. It is a relic of slavery” – conveniently similar views to our justice system…

      What racist rubbish.

Brenton Tarrant is currently in prison. He is white. Is that oppression? No, he committed a crime.
Why is any one of the Maori population in prision? Oppression? Nope! They too committed a crime!!!

Who gives a fuck if Maori in prison feel oppressed or anything else. They didn’t care about oppressing and victimizing those New Zealanders they offended against. How about some self respect and take a bit of pride in not being a piece of shit human and doing some hard work to better yourself (or any fucking work for that matter really!)

      • Norms of behaviour were quite tightly prescribed in the past.

My take on increasing issues is that there is now too much choice. People don’t like too much choice, in my opinion anyway, that is when it gets confusing.

It is not as if there wasn’t accepted range inside those choices. Lots of people can’t handle having to think for themselves, that’s why there are followers and leaders.

Groupthink, my opinion is that as a control it has to be effective, I can’t agree to using a sheep analogy because mine go every which way.

        0

    • Does that mean Tarrant walks away free too? Pre-European Maori did not sit around holding hands and discussing crime. They would have butchered each other, like all primitive cultures did. Who the f*ck is this guy? Must be associated with the UN!

Just like sheep they all have to follow and jump on the bandwagon to try and show how virtuous they are while everyone in the real world sits back and laughs at such a ridiculous display of showboating which will count for nothing except create more jobs for pen pushers employed in councils under the guise of preventing climate change.

  13. Having a late watch of today’s oral questions in the House. Just heard Minister Twyford, and Associate Minister Genter, attempt to defend the use of fuel tax taken from road users to fund non road user projects.

They are part of a government fraud taking tax from targeted users for application to benefit others. They claim this is long standing practice. So it may be, but they have just increased the rate of excise and specifically noted the non road user purposes.

It is a disgraceful tax increase impacting unreasonably on captured road users to benefit users of non road projects. No flannel from either the Minister Twyford, or Associate Minister Genter will convince me otherwise.
