    In my last visit to Japan, I noticed that trains in Tokyo now have digital signage that includes Chinese and Korean text.

    So, why does a Mobil petrol pump need to have billingual signage in Te Reo? Please tell me how many New Zealanders only know the Maori term for “diesel ” and not the English one? If the answer is “zero” then Mobil is woke and virtue signalling.

        Tai Tokerau Border Control said they want to stop Covid-19 from moving around the region – or out into the rest of the country and protect vulnerable kaumātua and kuia in the area.

        Its regional co-ordinator Reuben Taipari said the iwi had been working through the process with authorities and was aiming to set up the first checkpoint at Waiomio Thursday morning at 9am.

  60. The Prime Minister has put companies dumping contaminated waste into sewers on notice, saying she’s seeking advice about the available options.

    At least 270 companies, including big names such as Talley’s, the Fonterra cooperative, and McCains, have breached their trade waste consents many times over the past year.

    No companies have been prosecuted or fined and local councils say their pleas for the government to fix the law have been ignored for 18 years.

    Jacinda Ardern said the actions of companies intentionally dumping were totally unacceptable.

    “They should know that I am looking at what the options are. But actually I think New Zealand would put anyone on notice. It’s 2021, everyone knows the importance of the shared collective resource of our waterways,” Ardern said.

    “No one thinks it’s acceptable if companies are openly and willingly degrading our waterways.”

    Minister of Local Government Nanaia Mahuta told Morning Report these issues would be addressed by the new water regulator, but not for at least a couple of years.

    Ardern said she had asked officials to look at what could be done in the meantime.

      Li added that while some people may be completely asymptomatic and show no trace of the virus in their respiratory system, residual traces of the virus could be unearthed in the anus.

      Left-wing publication Newsweek reported on Tuesday that “According to guidelines published by China’s National Health Commission, anal swabs are to be administered 3 to 5 centimeters (1.2 to 2 inches) inside the rectum. The swab is to be rotated and removed before being securely placed inside a sample container.”

      Chinese state-owned media outlet The Global Times expanded further on the idea in a piece titled “Beijing tests for COVID-19 using anal swabs, where virus may survive longer: experts.”

      “According to the Global Times, a situation in which an entire school full of primary school students and staff were anally swabbed following a 9-year-old boy’s contraction of the virus has prompted multiple experts to “wonder if anal swabs could be more accurate in detecting the virus than other measures.”

      As of yet, China is conducting anal swabs solely on detainees located in quarantine camps. Given the nation’s close relationship with the WHO, however, and the Biden administration’s servile eagerness to receive its marching orders from the WHO, critics have suggested that anal swabs could become a mandatory part of U.S. Covid testing within the year”.
