Seems that all has gone quiet up at Pike River.
A week or so back I commented on here that there were many truckloads of concrete heading up there – nobody seems to know what they were for, and nothing has been heard from up there since.
Wonder whether they have all been re-entombed? Another of the governments re-sets !

Still on the West Coast, equipment has been spotted in the new Grey Base Hospital.
For those not aware, the new hospital was built by the last government as a replacement for the present aging and dilapidated infrastructure, but since election day all work seems to have slowed to a snails pace.
Recently the hospital has been repainted, probably with a 1 1/2″ brush, and now there is evidence that some equipment has been delivered, pallets of stuff covered in bubble wrap. I do hope that one of them is a machine that goes “ping.”
Alas no beds yet though.
Perhaps the DHB can do a deal with Pike River to take all the desks, computers and new carpet once they have finished with it, most of that will be “as new” as it has not been used yet !

From what I’ve read (I can’t for the life of me remember where I read it, was by an old school journalist commenting on the current state of fake news/shitty journalistic integrity) one of the main issues is, in the past, becoming a journalist/reporter was almost like doing an apprenticeship, in the case of starting at the bottom at the news agent, learning how to chase leads, investigate facts etc etc. These days, kids go to university to study journalism, and with universities the world over predominantly being staffed with left wing liberals and virtue signalling social justice warriors, the graduates walk away indoctrinated with the same left wing, all about the feelz mentality. Hence why the right wing/common sense view or narrative is heavily outnumbered by the leftist MSM.

There are no right-wing (or even impartial) news outlets because running a news network takes money and the Alinsky tactics of the left make it very hard to make money through advertising. And of course, for the remainder of those with money they don’t really want balance in reporting as it does not serve their purposes.
The UN’s anti-white, anti-democracy, anti-Christianity didn’t just magically appear, it was funded to do so! The desirable outcome for the super rich/powerful requires understanding of how they view the human race. In their eyes, t’s split into three classes:

The Alpha’s want a world where there are no Beta’s to evolve up to Alpha level and start crowding and challenging the existing power structures. The Alpha’s grand plan, through bribery of the wannabe Alphas who run the UN (or the EU or the Senate or the UK Parliament) to promote policies which dis empower the uppity Betas. Mass immigration of Omegas from 3rd world shitholes seems to be the most effective way of subverting the ambitions of the annoying Betas. But secondary plans like convincing the Betas that they have to tax themselves into poverty to “Save the Planet” seems also to be gaining traction. White privilege/White guilt is effectively indoctrinating Betas that they’re to blame for the plight of the Omegas and the best thing Betas can do is de-evolve down to the Omega level where the Alpha’s want them to be.
Anyway, come on fellow Betas, let’s help those Alphas and buy into all their insane policies and drag ourselves down to the Omega level as soon as possible (for the planet, or for Kindness, or for Equality, or for Diversity) the Alphas will feel much safer when we have resumed our proper place in society and they can go on with their privileged existence without the pawns getting in the way.

Before I went for my shower this morning there was a story headlined on Stuff stating that one third of people pre-paying for their power had borrowed money from friends and relatives (presumably to do so).
After my shower I couldn’t (can’t) find it.
A shame because post-shower I was going to read it, not just to find out how the hell they would get such a statistic but also what the writer (or “experts” it “interviewed”) was proposing to do about the unfortunate fact that successive socialist governments have damaged New Zealand’s social structure to the point that a whole class of people literally have no idea how to fend for themselves.

Last night there was a report that Work and Income has over the past 12 months had a 45% increase in the number of requests for special payments (ie for washing machines, or similar needs). The report was not so much about beneficiaries asking for money but the horror of Winz suggesting beneficiaries try all other funding avenues before requesting Winz cough up. Apparently, according to the MSM, borrowing money from financial lenders and having to pay interest is not an option for our taxpayer funded beneficiaries.
When our fridge packed a sad recently it cost me 2 grand to replace it with a new, decent model. I only had half the cash so financed the rest. Rocket science i tell ya. WINZ? Never heard of it LOL.
How many “special grants” go to beneficiaries who reek like the cigarette they just puffed on the WINZ footsteps? Drive by the Dargaville WINZ office and you see it all the time. Young men with hoodies and a fag hanging out of their mouths pushing baby strollers. Your tax dollars hard at work NZ!
Walked past the local Winz office three times on Monday about 20 mins apart and each time there was a different security person outside on the pavement. Guess they get bored to death? but they are always very polite wishing pedestrians “a good morning”.
A few nights ago I turned on my tv to find Nania Mahuta being interviewed by a blonde girl asking questions about the budget.

While I like to put the boot into the CoL, I’m afraid the police do not like competition. Most of the time when my friends have been involved in self defence situations, the police have tried to charge them for excessive force (charges never stuck). I can only think of two occasions where the police did not do this (and in one of them the scumbags pressed a civil charge…which also failed).
If you can deal with scumbags without involving the police, I suggest you do.

Well now, here’s an amusing history lesson. Several 19th century Christian chapters were socialists or more strictly speaking communists. In fact, 19th century atheists (& socialists) detested the name communism because of its Christian connotations. That’s because the word communism was derived from the Christian word communion. Ergo, communism refered to the Christian form of socialism. Socialism, on the other hand, was a neutral term.
Of course, the definition of communism changed in the 19th century but it is an interesting observation of its once Christian origin.

I think it is the rebranded CYFS. Recently I jave been given the opportunity to work with a company that follows Te Ao Reo principles. (Hope I remembered that right). There is a definitive philosophy behind it and I am changing my perspective after dealing with people who embrace this. It is part of the unique culture that makes us NZ. Far more so than some other imports and when you begin to learn what sits underneath it, it makes sense.
I don’t know how to articulate it better without sounding woke, but my view on Maori led organisations have changed after I worked with one. This one at least isn’t a caricature equivalent to the evil capitalist, you know?

Making a mighty leap, he jumps up onto a lamp post, grasping it with one arm while he hurls the bronze rat into Wellington Harbour with the other, as far as he can heave it. Pulling his legs up and clinging to the post, he watches in amazement as the seething tide of rats surges over the edge of the wharf into the sea, where they drown.
Shaken and mumbling, he makes his way back to the antique shop.
