    • Heh what a great weekend. Things really took off when the pubs closed at midnight. If you look closely you can see me in the video where a guy was ripping off the street light😂.
Cops were hopelessly out numbered .

      • “Mr Boult said ratepayers would be left picking up the bill for the damage — “the last thing we need at the present time”.
“We just don’t countenance that behaviour and I can only hope the video reaches the police and they’re able to identify the idiot concerned,” he said.

        and
“However, we’ve got to find a way to stop it happening again.”

        Good luck with that Jim.
You want the people there and one of the things they come for are bars – that YOU grant licences for and derive rates from these premises.

        Think it through, Jim.
        Leaders lead, whingers whinge.
Who ya gonna Be, Jim ?
        Problem or Solution?

For the last ten years Queenstown has being trying to make the place like Monaco- upmarket and not have kiwi ‘trash ‘ there.
In ten years you and your mob never solved the accommodation issues for staff that you need in a service industry, Jimbo .
Now the borders are closed you need that kiwi ‘trash’ coz the tourists are not coming back for years.

Start leading Jimbo and stop whining.

Half baked local govt the country over….

  1. Just a reminder…
a genuine deadly pandemic doesn’t require 24/7 advertising to remind you it exists.
Real pandemics don’t need marketing campaigns and endless propaganda…but,
    psychological operations do.

  3. This is a story to inspire you to reach for your dreams:

Many years ago I came a close second in the Miss Cannons Creek beauty contest of 1989. Soon after I left Porirua & was beset by a long period of bad luck.

I suffered years of alcohol & drug addictions followed by a series of eating disorders. I lost a leg & needed facial reconstruction surgery after a road traffic accident. Later I suffered 90% burns in an unprovoked acid attack. Several of my teeth were knocked out & an eye gouged in a bitch fight in the carpark of the local KFC. The stress caused severe hair loss & facial warts.

    But I never stopped believing.

And finally, last month, I was crowned “Miss South Auckland 2021”.

  4. What happened to the allegations on petrol price gouging that Jacinda Ardern and her fix it Minister Megan
Woods leveled at those involved the market.
So why didn’t they make this law in their first term of Government or are they banking on talking about it like everything else they to maintain the middle voter. Petrol is now 50cents dearer than when Labour promised to stop gouging and I guess they were proved wrong and the cause was though their climate policy, so wind up the public with lies and deciet by going after others from other industries.

“It kills the same amount,” he explained, “but it doesn’t hurt their feelings.”

  7. Is JAG pushing no parking spaces to be provided by councils or business and those businesses have to provide public transport if none is available in the area?

Parking job for councils – Genter
    https://www.odt.co.nz/regions/queenstown/parking-job-councils-genter

Ms Genter, who spoke at a public discussion in Queenstown on Tuesday night about the change, told the Otago Daily Times existing parking requirements ensured private cars were the dominant transport option.

“Getting rid of the parking requirements was necessary, but it’s not sufficient to make sure that you are providing an alternative.”

Asked about the impact of new accommodation developments in smaller centres with limited or no public transport, such as Glenorchy in the Queenstown Lakes district, she said councils would have to ensure the provider catered for the travel demands it was creating, but have more than just single-occupant vehicles as a solution for how to get there.

“If they decide not to provide a travel management plan, then you can make it clear they will be expected to contribute to getting people to that village.”

    • Yea sounds adverty, theres likely a shortage of workers now due to women under 30 falling into 3 categories… 1. Total sluts that give it up to any guys and send nudes willy nilly.
      2. #metoo types that are outraged a penis went hard at them without consent.
      3. They just think theyre a woman but have a penis.

    • “I think it’s great. I think that it is important to challenge stereotypes… Why can’t women take joy in their sexuality?” University of Canterbury Professor Dr María Perez-y-Perez asks.

“And if they want to be overtly sexual, and if they want to dress in a particular way and if they want to do certain jobs – those jobs are needed by the way, you just need to look on OnlyFans and you know people make a lot of money because that kind of material is needed.”

How on earth does advertising your orifices for sale to strangers bring any joy to your sexuality? Doesn’t it do the opposite? Haven’t NZ women been exploring their sexuality privately with their loved ones for years? How does advertising your body for sale on TikTok challenge stereotypes? Doesn’t it uphold them? I don’t know one mother who would think that her daughter would be enriched by prostitution, no matter the financial reward. How many prostitutes hope that their kids will follow their profession?

Maria Perez y Perez trips herself up by sterotyping prostitutes as dressed in a particular way and overtly sexual. Sounds more like a tinder date. Has she ever actually met a whore or just seen them on TV? If female empowerment really does occur, is it from the sex or money? I have nothing against prostitutes but that wouldn’t be a job option we would celebrate in my family.

I refuse to take seriously anyone who would claim defending prostitution as pro-women. What on earth was Maria Perez y Perez thinking?

      9

      • The reality is that women are hard wired to be gold digging whores.

For some it manifests by being a devoted wife, to a good provider. While others take an independent route.

But it’s all the same thing. They use their sex appeal to get what they want.

        2

        4

        • Yes Kea, that’s a soft spot for women but your argument is upheld by Perez y Perez’s statement ie “and you know people make a lot of money because that kind of material is needed.”
We are not living in the 1700’s when prostitution or witchery were the only career choices for an independent woman. Perhaps financially independent women will realise the whole family thing is not as fulfilling as it seems and opt out. Many women don’t come to the idea that they are no better than prostitutes until later life. They may provide more reliable insight than Maria Perez y Perez. It’s annoying that Maria Perez y Perez believes that by exploiting LVM’s financially women will be empowered. I would advise all women to stay the hell away from all LVM’s, no matter how much they’re offering. Buy your own house girls, pay for your own travel, buy the diamonds you like and you’ll never again have to wipe semen from your face, unless you want to.

  8. I see the new Hogwarts Express only takes 1 3/4 hours to get from Hamilton to Papakura. Apparently the punters are flocking aboard. I wonder if the people who write this tripe actually believe this? Why don’t they tell us the true cost of this folly and how much the government subsidises each trip? What happens when you get to Papakura and find out the whole rail system has shut down because a dog ran on the track in Ranui 2 days earlier? It would be interesting to revisit this in a couple of months to see how many are still catching it, but that might upset Cindy and co – something the MSM are very scared to do.

          • That will be sorted.

No private cars in 15 years.
            Remove petrol cars.

Say the replacement will be electric.

3 years ago did you think simple smart things like gas cooking and gas BBQs (good for mental health SLG) would be banned.
Nothing is too preposterous and this creaky pubic transport system (?) and bicycles will be the norm.

        • Hamilton’s train station is a fair distance from the CBD and I doubt any buses from the city are on the road before the Auckland trains 5.45am departure time, so it is private vehicles to the station. Apparently, there is a new train station behind the Base, the north Hamilton shopping centre.

Add in cold winter mornings sitting on a train for over 2 hours each way with a hefty price for the experience. Yeah/nah. A warm car up the motorway would make for a better day.

  17. Having travelled up to Whangarei and back a couple of times recently it is obvious roading in the North is a priority area for road maintenance.

    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/new-zealand/2021/04/government-urged-to-spend-930k-on-roads-after-worst-easter-road-toll-in-a-decade.html

The road fatalities come as no surprise to the New Zealand Automobile Association (AA), which says the country has been a dangerous place to drive for at least the last seven years.

To make driving less perilous, the AA says road maintenance should be a Government priority.

The association’s Dylan Thomsen told Morning Report, although it wasn’t the only issue, road maintenance played a major role in road safety and that underfunding had left many roads on the point of dangerous failure.

-Shower slipper Dan’s Victoria Red State
-Pasta Chook’s ‘we will put a red under every bed’ Labor lot in QLD
-Ardern’s ‘oooh oooh oooh I can’t make a decision’ New Venezealand

With the tart furiously importing Covid from India in the ‘dial a bride for the liquor store worker’ scheme Aussie may well tell NZ to sod off.
I would not rush to book.

  19. Labour’s Kieran McAnulty drafts law change to allow alcohol sales on Easter, Christmas, Anzac Day
    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/2021/04/labour-s-kieran-mcanulty-drafts-law-change-to-allow-alcohol-sales-on-easter-christmas-anzac-day.html

McAnulty isn’t the only MP seeking changes to trading rules. ACT’s small business spokesperson Chris Baillie has entered a Member’s Bill proposing the removal of all trading restrictions on Good Friday and Easter Sunday.

“Restricted trading over Easter represents a level of state control and bureaucracy which is unnecessary and hurts small business especially,” Baillie said over the Easter break.

“ACT says consistent with a free society all businesses should be allowed to determine which days they would like to open,” Baillie says.

“Business owners need a break and removing anachronistic Easter Trading laws would be a welcome start.”

      • An honest lawyer? Obviously you haven’t heard the parable of Diogenes the Cynic, a Greek philosopher who eschewing possessions wandered Athens about 400BC.

As the story goes he dusted off his lamp and set out once again, this time looking for an honest lawyer. After a few months of this, a friend asked him how he was doing. “Not too bad,” said Diogenes, “I still have my lamp.”

    • If there are any brains left in Parliament…
The parliament rule is that if they are still sitting after midnight on say Wed night and any law is passed that Law is attributed to Wednesday and not Thursday.

So if the session starts 7pm Wed and goes to 3am Thursday then 1am, 2am, 3am Thur are for all intents Wednesday.

      Apply same to bar hours.

      Simples

The geezers may introduce a bill but they have to get it selected from the biscuit tin.
That is easier said than done.
It can also be hived off to committee and languish.

We also know the Vatican party is wowser central when it comes to having any fun .
Though shalt wear hair shirts and self flagellate if one has any thought of fun.
Quick, Call the fun police .

    • This ties up with Piers Morgan’s point of free speech, the under handed on Tucker Carlson and mentions the Sharon Osbourne defending Piers Morgan

Piers Morgan joins ‘Tucker Carlson Today’ for first interview since ‘cancelation’ | Preview

Too much gossip,, particularly how Megan, Harry & Oprah did manipulation.
Pointing out “Never apologise” as Sharon had done.

It is all a part of the pressure that is ratcheting up to lose “free speech”.
And Piers does make good points in regarding keeping “free speech”.
