I’m worried.
I once knew a guy called Mr Flu. He used to come around and show his face every winter and kill thousands but all of a sudden he has disappeared and is now nowhere to be seen.

If New Zealand sees 500 flu deaths in a normal year, then what is happening this time? Are the 500 staying alive? Are they dying of something else?
Are these would-have-died-in-a-normal-year elderly accumulating like forest fuel, only to result in a huge “die-back” when things return to normal?
How would the government react to a bad flu year that kills off 3-years’-worth of accumulated elderly? Lockdowns again?

What it doesn’t say is that you cannot be MADE to have the vaccine. For some people pre-exisiting conditions make it more dangerous to have that not to have. Sue Gray made this point in her recent video, and the vaccine Safety Data Sheet has a long list of cautions, many of which will affect those of us over a certain age.
IMO it is disingenuous for the health authorities to be so openly suggesting the vaccine will be safe for all, and not alerting people to the risks. My wife has a hidden immune-compromising condition that has led to our doctor telling her she must not have the vaccine.
Personally I would far rather the money went into bowel cancer testing and this was more readily available for the whole country, Vaccines are just a pathetic ‘frightening the masses’ show of the government. Follow the money and you will find that Bill Gates has made billions from this ploy to keep us all in our places and the ptpm is part of this dreadful new way of life.

Northland is full of ferals. Paihia has unfortunately always had a bad element and frequent crime against tourists, or otherwise. Now it appears they’ve brought the ferals out of the hills and put them in tourist accommodation. Crime is up, no police, and locals are going to have to patrol themselves. Two foreign tourists were sexually assaulted by a local feral almost 12 years ago. Because of this attack, I still get asked by the odd traveler whether it is safe to freedom camp at the front of my property, as their guide books warns them against it….
There are no public toilets and as these people sleep out in small vans and station wagons, I am not overly concerned about them being put off overnight camping here…just a shame that one lowlife can taint a whole township though.
The murder of a man sleeping in a campervan a couple of years ago out at Kawhia wouldn’t have helped that perception. It doesn’t encourage anyone wanting to stay in isolated areas. I’d certainly think twice about going to sleep in some areas of NZ.

Just watched Deliverance on Netflix last night again, again, Yep watched it when it first came out then several time since. There are many countries that it is not safe to freedom camp, especially in the USA area of the Appalachians but New Zealand have a similar population in many areas. Sad to say.
I stayed in the Paihia Pacific last year, thankfully for only one night. The place was full of trash that looked remarkably like gang members who didn’t seem to sleep. Nobody in their right mind would go out late at night. The whole town seemed to be full of beneficiaries living in motels. It’s a real shame, Paihia used to be such a great place for a winter break. Thanks for fixing that homeless problem Cindy.

Increased costs to landlords = increased rent. Most of the rent hikes wont go to the landlord but straight to ird, businesses and landlords are just tax collectors for ird.

Is it direct? Rents should be paid directly to the landlord from MSD clients but I am not aware that it is standard practice but it is more common I believe if a Housing NZ tenant.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has lifted its global growth forecasts and now expects the economic growth of the six per cent for 2021 – the biggest boom since 1980.

Most economists now expect the New Zealand economy to track side ways through with modest growth later this year and next.
