  1. I can’t get back to sleep…

    Hmmmm.
    Let’s play a mid game.

If some endowment fund granted you a million dollars a year on the condition that you take up a new hobby, what would you choose?

    I might take up pottery.
Maybe metal sculpture. (Considering the stuff that I see in galleries, the bar is pretty low.)

    • Pottery will have your feet pedalling in your sleep. 🙂

Sleep denied by the Government authority:—
      .
….. It turns out that there’s a cure to insomnia, but the drug is so remarkably effective for a variety of conditions that the FDA colluded with the media to take it down.
      .
The drug is Gamma-Hydroxy-Butarate, also known as GHB.
      .
The FDA’s tactics were ruthless. In 1990, they issued a press release filled with deceptive inaccuracies. They banned it, threatened compounding pharmacies, and even raided suppliers without legal authority…..

The real treatment for when you quit smoking pot and then can not sleep, that caused Jimmy Dore to look into GHB
Remember do not look into HCQ & Ivermectin.

The bar is getting low in health now 🙂

    • 3D metal printing. I am enjoying my plastic printer. Have just completed building a jet engine it’s cut away so you can see how it works. The screws and nuts are so small(m2) it took me 90 minutes to assemble just one part
Titanium printing would be the ultimate

      • Well I don’t know about “hookers” SB, but taking up the art of Shagging, to excess, with loose loined woman holds some appeal. But there again, so does sailing my old 48 foot Salthouse, through the remote Pacific Islands. Think at my age, I’ll should opt for the sailing with a loose loined woman who likes Rum.

  2. Thought the Warriors had a really gutsy performance yesterday, the fullback and both wings injured off yet except for a double miss field goals in extra time would have won.
Pleased to see the All Blacks had a close win, for someone who has gone off rugby the game was played with a fair bit of action.

    • The difference in Australia is the NDIS pays for all the sex going on, have a family member that ferries the disabled from appointment to appointment. I asked the obvious, is there a limit on the goods and services secured, he said no, all top quality, no funds spared.
One thing that really pissed him off, when he takes them to timezone, he is only given $100 to entertain himself whilst the disabled entertained themselves, said you can buy jack shit at TZ for $100, inflation is biting.

As an aside, what does she mean by this – ‘if my labour was to suddenly start and this baby was born earthside he would suffer so much’ – what does ‘earthside’ mean?

Thats why our hospital got full of bugs when catering was first outsourced, cost the taxpayer millions and still does eating food made in poor facilities overseas. spotlight catering did that to our patients.

  3. Should ministers be compelled by Waitangi Tribunal?

As has been widely reported, the Waitangi Tribunal issued a summons to a minister of the Crown, demanding that she attend an inquiry to answer questions about proposed legislative changes to the act governing Oranga Tamariki.

This fell within the remit of the Tribunal and parliament had given it statutory power to issue summons. The Crown challenged the summons in the High Court. Successfully. The Tribunal took the issue to the Court of Appeal. Successfully.

    but
Let me put this in context. We had an election. Parliament selected ministers from those elected. One of those ministers was doing her day-job of making a change to the law.

Then along comes the Waitangi Tribunal and demands that the minister justify herself.

    This is not okay.

We do not have a formal constitution, but we do have foundation documents and one is the 1688 Bill of Rights. This law emerged from the Glorious Revolution that established parliamentary sovereignty and confirmed England as a constitutional monarchy.

    Well worth the read.

    • Wet’s like Luxon and Finlayson allow this to fester in their weakness. The Treaty was re-litigated by traitors, and the witchdoctor interpretation called Tikanga, are being written into statutes, while we sleep. Its a fundamentally stone-age racist provision for Mischling peoples. A nonsense machine of tribal mumblings leading to war and slavery again.

Relying on codifications from the “Glorious Revolution” and parliamentary supremacy have led England to Keith Starmer. Constitutions in America and England are downstream from religion. Without virtue, we have a sea of nothing, domination by the rich and powerful to look forward to.

A good man, though a slave, can be free, whilst a wicked man, though a king, has as many masters as he has vices. Augustine.

  4. Biden Campaign Unveils New Slogan ‘Only Senile Some Of The Time’
    https://babylonbee.com/news/biden-campaign-unveils-new-slogan-only-senile-some-of-the-time

WASHINGTON, D.C. — In a hotly anticipated announcement, the Biden 2024 Presidential Campaign has just unveiled its exciting new campaign slogan: “Only Senile Some Of The Time.”

“Joe’s been catching a bad rap lately, and we just think that people don’t realize that he’s actually fairly lucid for about three to four hours each day, depending on medications,” said Curt Kristoferson, a senior Biden campaign staffer and slogan designer. “He doesn’t really even start showing his age until about 4:00 in the afternoon — he’s sharp and energetic for a good couple of hours before that. We just want to remind voters that he’s not as far gone as he always looks in debates, press conferences, campaign speeches, global summits, and other public appearances.”

    • “Only senile some of the time” plus the rest of the time probably reflects why this Doctor turns up on the “White House visitor logs”.
      .
….. Dr. Kevin R. Cannard, a Parkinson’s disease specialist, has visited the White House at least nine times in the last year, official White House visitor logs show.
      .
The logs show Dr. Cannard traveled to the White House residence medical clinic each time.
He met either with the president’s personal physician or the naval nurse who coordinates care for the president and other top officials, the logs show.
      .
Dr. Cannard’s spate of visits began on July 28, 2023 and continued at least through March 28, 2024.
The most recently released logs end on April 1, so it is not clear if Dr. Cannard has been to the White House more recently.
      .
The logs do not note the purpose of Dr. Cannard’s visits.
      .
A physician profile page for him notes he is a “neurologist and movement disorders specialist at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center” who researches treatments for “early phase Parkinson’s disease.”
Walter Reed provides medical care to senior federal officials.

The march through the institutions seems to have reached a Coronation Peak of Rule.
Keir Starmer has thwarted & done the “go around” the problems of “Yes Minister” as now they will be in charge, & will be well covered up by the progressive BBC & many other media.

Pessimistic me says in theory the Labour will serve the 5 years, as they will not vote for an early election, despite scandals, more bull shit & lies, while on the highest pay that many of those MP’s will ever achieve.

“Egyptian international Ahmed Refaat died yesterday, aged just 31, following a heart attack suffered during a match last March. Since he came out of the coma, his health has deteriorated and he sadly passed away yesterday. ”

When I came upon this very interesting thread. A vaccine researcher murdered, nothing suspicious there then.

“Before Dr. Bradstreet was murdered he tested the blood of nearly 70+ autistic children & found 3 components of DNA. Mother, father, and a third unknown DNA source. He then realized the third DNA came from the aborted fetal cell lines in vaccines. He concluded that this may explain the prevalence of gender confusion.”

    • Former Auckland doctor Jeff Kai Fong gave up medical career to become a truck driver
      https://www.msn.com/en-nz/health/other/former-auckland-doctor-jeff-kai-fong-gave-up-medical-career-to-become-a-truck-driver/ar-BB1pwsD6?cvid=afe6e97d569a41aaaf9bea5c5675c6c4&ei=34
Ayear after he ditched the stethoscope for the steering wheel, dump truck driver Jeff Kai Fong found himself thinking about one of the last patients he treated in a medical career that spanned more than three decades.

The 26-year-old woman was suffering a major anaphylactic response to an allergen and, even after two doses of adrenaline, had “dumped her blood pressure into her boots”, the former emergency physician said.

“She had like a 50 systolic [blood pressure] and you should have like 120. So that means you wouldn’t have a palpable pulse … I managed to get a second [intravenous] line in and we had bags of fluid under our armpits, pumping it into her body as fast as we could.

“She picked up [but] she was 26, so if it went badly that was going to be a f***ing disaster.”

Six forward, dual range, crash box with a split shift, a trailer up your arse & a mad, multi-tasking woman losing her shit with her brats while changing lanes in front of you.

        • I have known a truck driver to resign, because of stress from some very near misses where he had to do a number of major lock ups, that goes into Jack knife in a 2 week period.

No one injured, not even hit another car, & no damage.

He stayed off the job for about 2 years, before he gathered his nerves again, as I see he is back on the job,

People never think when driving at HIghway speed & +, that if they see an agricultural tractor, that they should consider they are as good as stopped, on the road, so on closing particularly when in the distance the tractor went around a corner.

And why do the commit to closing in so quickly when passing.???

          6

          • For all the normal reasons that are put up regularly. Speed, inattention & spatial awareness are tops but there’s another that gets little air play.

            Modern cars are too good.

Most of us learnt to drive in shitboxes like Ford Prefects or Morris Minors that steered like blocked drays, the brakes were about as much use as prayer & if you accelerated the windscreen wipers cut out. The steering wheel wasn’t even padded, there were no seatbelts & fabric had to be showing before a tyre was condemned.

IOW even those with a room temperature IQ could appreciate the risks. Nowadays a cheap Toyota Vitz or Suzuki Swift handles like sports car & if you happen to be brain dead…..no worries, the on board computer will sort it out for you.

There is so little thought required that very little is given. Until one day when the drivers pushes it just a little bit too hard & it all turns to custard.

I am not sure if this was put through a Sharia Court, as the instruments seem to be very blunt.
Or they had made a concession for first time offenders in a quick form of “boot camp”??

Do you know who these masked people are? Who are their victims?
Do you know why they wrote the word #thief on the backs of their victims?
The masked human monsters that collapse and beat the victims are: members of #Hamas

The victims are innocent young residents of #Gaza,
The accusation of #thief is because they are hungry and tried – according to belief – to take some of the aid that was stolen by the brutal Hamas.
This is Hamas, and this is its treatment of the people of Gaza, which it occupies.
It only cares about its interests and the Iranian money it earns at the expense of these poor Gazans who have been subject to its terrorism for years, as if Persian money was no longer enough for it, so it began stealing the money of the poor and hungry.

They are thieves of humanity, they are thieves and corrupt people, and these people are only destined to disappear because the truth is written and terrorism is inevitably fleeting.

  7. More to say about our ferries.
    By Brendon Harre*

In December the newly elected government cancelled its support for KiwiRail’s iReX (Interisland Resiliency Connection) project due to its excessive cost, forcing KiwiRail to cancel its build order for the mega-ferries that would have delivered new ships in the beginning of 2026.

This has proved to be controversial because it has implications for the viability of the entire rail network. Dr Bryce Edwards aggregates the various perspectives in an excellent summative article. From that article it can be seen that there has been no public discussion of simplifying the design of the port upgrades to cut costs to an affordable level.

This discussion piece will make the case that taking a minimum viable design approach could have enabled the mega-ferries project to be progressed.

    https://www.interest.co.nz/public-policy/128602/brendon-harre-makes-case-taking-minimum-viable-design-approach-could-have

    • youre very obsessed with these ferries, did you have a cushy gig to fit them out with curtains or something?

we need a couple of new ferries, we dont need “mega ferries”, rail is declining so i dont see why their rail capacity needed to be greatly increased.
they shouldve designed and built ferries compatible with existing infrastructure (and sailing routes), ditched the rail aspect and avoid any hybrid or electric propulsion bullshit.

if a govt entity is to run a service like this it should be made simple, bomb proof and no frills…. want the fancy shit and every bell and whistle well charge accordingly for that shit and not subsidize it with public funds.

as for the rail thing surely there are ways around it, cant they design and build dollys that the carriages can get loaded on and just towed off and on? containerise the rail freight and dolly/truck it?

Complex blood cancer on the rise in Australia – research

Some 80,000 people will have contracted multiple myeloma by 2043, an increase of nearly 15% on previous predictions.

Mortality rates are projected to fall by about 27.5%, according to a to a study led by the Daffodil Centre in a joint venture between Cancer Council NSW and the University of Sydney.
But, even so, about 28,000 – equivalent to more than one in a thousand of the current population – will die from the disease, the research published in the Medical Journal of Australia found.

Myeloma affects plasma cells found inside bone marrow, which creates antibodies to kill viruses, bacteria and fungi.

It’s only a matter of time until de-banking political opponents becomes standard operating procedure in the United States — bastion of Democracy™ that it is.

“German bank Berliner Volksbank has closed the donation account of the right-wing antiglobalist opposition party Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) following a petition by a group calling itself Grandmothers Against the Right (Omas gegen Rechts).

The group launched their petition in May, stating that the bank, which claims to stand for tolerance and against right-wing extremism, should not be allowed to accommodate an account for the AfD. The organisation handed over 33,500 signatures to the bank on Wednesday, July 3rd, to demand the termination of the account, and after meeting the chairman of the board of directors, Carsten Jung, Grandmothers Against the Right announced that their venture has been successful.”

    • I reckon the idea may fall over in NZ because of the height of electric feeds which is set because of the height of the tunnels. Can’t find a lot of info on the dimensions of our rolling stock but a 40′ container is 2.6m in height. The deck the container sits on the road trailer would be about a metre to allow for tyres & suspension. The deck of the rail wagon is probably 0.9m off the rail for a guesstimate of 4.5m.

AFAIK the overhead electrified wires are 4.4m above the rail. The idea is probably not feasible.
