  1. Mr Editor: Thank you for posting that A.F. Branco cartoon as the header for today’s thread.

You might also find Ben Garrison’s work to be of interest, as his cartoons follow a similar theme and (should you be so-inclined) can be accessed at grrgraphics.com

    Thanks.

  2. $8.1 million over four years to establish an Aged Care Commissioner but that isn’t paying pensioners who are in need. All hat and no cattle Ardern is all about being kind except for the aged and disabled.
No, there wasn’t much anything for pensioners in the clown cars recent budget.

    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/new-zealand/2021/05/elderly-advocates-say-pension-failing-to-keep-up-with-housing-costs.html

“I just can’t go anywhere. How the heck could I afford to go anywhere?” the pensioner says.

Living off processed meals, tinned meat and packet mashed potato, Reid says nothing has changed since her childhood in the 1930s Great Depression.

“I’m back to what I was living off as a child. When am I going to get the good stuff?”

He’s disappointed there wasn’t more money allocated to support senior citizens in this year’s Government Budget.

Minister for Senior Citizens Dr Ayesha Verrall says this budget allocated $8.1 million over four years to establish an Aged Care Commissioner.

And almost $2m over four years was given to the ‘Better Later Life – He Oranga Kaumatua Strategy’.

“This is still being developed and will focus on helping older New Zealanders with housing, employment and digital inclusion – to break down barriers to using technology,” says Minister Verrall.

But Lamb believes that money won’t go to the frontline and says there needs to be a lot more given to directly support older people.

    • Living off packaged processed food is expensive. Grow your own spuds etc.
if she has grandchildren she has grown up kids. Why can they not help. Same old same old.
As usual for Newshub we are not told the full story

      • Not everyone has children or grandchildren to help them for what ever reasons Ed. The money that went into the budget e.g. $50+ a week extra to support the unemployed. they do actually have the ability to work. Whereas pensioners do not for the reason that many employers see them as too old, and it seems that older people do lots of the charity work, charities couldn’t function without them. Beneficiaries certainly don’t volunteer, I could be wrong but so it seems to me. Newshub are not known for telling the whole story on anything.

      • I wont read any horseshit from new scrub but, yes, correct Ed.

Either this person prepped for old age or did not.
If there are children/grandchildren then why do they not help?
If there are children and the relationship broke down then the investment was not made.

If the person had no children then said person had 40+ years to save, prepare, and look after themselves.
Either way it is not my concern and I dont give a fuck and will not have a snotty lying media turd present fake gnews and expect me to blink.

I wont read new scrub shit that WG keeps linking to.
        It is always bollocks.
Stuff does the same and posts lots of biased half ‘stories’
I dont bother with the Horrid or TV1 so can’t comment.

It is a W.O.F.T. to ever read this ‘advocacy’ shit
It should be labelled opinion pieces as this sort of stuff was 40 years ago.

This stuff is astroturfing for self-loathing which is a mental illness arising/increasing in lots of stupid white people
(just watched some George Carlin over the weekend and he was covering this 20+ years ago. )

Fair enough, I understand the propaganda from the msm. YSB is a free speech site that doesn’t care what you post so no need to preach to the choir.

If you had looked at the article you would see the woman is hardly Einstein. Nothing wrong with working hard at any job one can manage but she probably didn’t managed to climb high on the totem pole or pay scale. A simple soul and of a generation when many left school early to take up menial employment. True there was no background to her circumstances!

So glad you feel so personally capable howitis and can provide for yourself but many are not gifted with your successful abilities. She’s 90 years old FFS, a bit late to start cracking the whip.

    • Entitlement much?
“When am i going to get the good stuff” when ya work hard for it bro, sounds like he made a career from the dole and now whinging about a pitiful meaningless “retirement”. Pensions a safety net and never designed to fully support someone, did this useless cunt not work or save?

      12

      2

            • Well in that case – still not going to read this astroturfing shit from media filth – if the person is 90 then can go into a rest home where there is food – 3 meals a day-, care, heating , trips out, entertainment, etc.
If you have money then it is run down to a point -low $200,000s AFAIR – then the Govt pays.
If you have no money the Govt (UnMe) still pays so, like IAASB, I call bullshit.

              No fucking tears here.
              This is a bullshit story.
Was there actually a picture or video of a real person?

If these people are using a ninety year old woman as tear jerker advocacy story to sell their bullshit then they are nasty critters.
They are in fact ‘elder abusers’ and are cunts, but given they are media we know that already .

Why dont they get this 90 year old into a rest home?
She may not know her rights.

Come back with your tears when you have solved that and dont jump on the sooky lying advocacy wagon.

              • See my answer above to your previous post. Someone after the budget asked whether pensioners had been included in the clown car’s generous benefit payments? I posted the article in response to that question. The answer is NO but they are appointing another expensive bureaucrat and creating a whole new department.

Now go and earn some dosh towards your retirement fund ya grumpy prick. 🙂

My 91 year old dad is currently PAYING $1500 a week for hospital care in his retirement centre. My 90 year old mum is still in their apartment and is also paying full whack so don’t kick me over the dregs who haven’t made it.

Stick it where the sun don’t shine.

            • While I sympathize with pensioners in genuine hardship through no fault of their own, in many cases “no fault of their own” does not apply. I know people in their 70s who are renting and do not own property due to their own foolishness.

    • National will establish an Commissioner for Seniors. There a big difference between a Commissioner for Seniors and Aged Care Commissioner. A Commissioner for Seniors function is much wider than looking out for people in aged care facilities. Elder abuse is a very important issue that needs to be addressed.

      • No they wont Chuck.

        How can they?
        They are a minority opposition.
And calling them opposition is a stretch.
Zero carbon Notional ..more like zero clues Notional
They have done nothing to impress to be Govt.

They were so useless, you voted for Winston in 2017 anyway.
After 9 years they did SFA but now come up with crap that they ‘would have done.’
        Bollocks.
Oh yeah, they were gong to give a tax cut, y’know, in the future
They were going to index tax brackets but did not have time to do that in 9 years because they were busy , changing the flag.
Nah, did not even do that.

They did give us cycleways. Lots and lots of cycleways.
        More cycleways than fecking gondolas.
        By stealing exiting roads.

Notional are so fecking useless, Chuck, that even though you voted for Winston Peters in 2017 -who then kept 46% Notional out of Govt – you were able a year later get involved in policy making.

Yeah, right! If that was their intent then why wait ’till now, when they’ve had a lot of ‘Government’ time?

The statement IMHO is of the ‘Anything you can do, I can do better’ ilk and without supporting facts, figures, costings and ‘Statement of commitment’, is as useless as the protagonists in the song.

        I’m somewhat-sceptical (as you may have noticed)…

        • Just more big govt. It’s what Labour do. More commissions, working parties, committees while increasing government employee numbers. It is what they do. More employed under Labour’s umbrella means more incentive to vote for Labour. None of it will make any difference to the aged.

          • I’m quite happy for them to have their cycle lanes as long as they pay for them. At this point in time they are free loading off people like me who pay rego, fuel tax, diesel k’s acc levies and rates. Why should they get what I pay for for free? Funny how you never hear them mentioning that. Then again most of them appear to be self entitled tossers. Having a complete wanker like Simon Wilson leading the charge ably assisted by JAG, Swarbrick, and Bob Harvey does them no favours either.

            • Cycle advocate on amShow said there is a working party of 50 people brainstorming ideas but have not come up with any result on a cycle track after years of discussion. TYPICAL! All they do is talk. More dooey and less hui.

Here’s an idea, get on and build a second modern bridge or tunnel instead of yackety-yack. Make it a toll bridge including cyclists to pay as well.

I wonder how many of those cyclists who breached the barrier yesterday to ride up over the bridge would do it again now they have experienced climbing the bridge’s steep incline?

  4. In its economic forecast, released in the Budget, the Treasury stated that annual house price growth would slow from a peak of 17.3% this year to just 0.9% by mid next year, with Finance Minister Grant Robertson declaring: “This is a very sharp adjustment in house prices but a very necessary one.”

Our finance minister demonstrates that he doesn’t know the difference between price and rate of price growth. But he’s in good company with a PM who doesn’t know what GDP is.

  7. State of emergency in Canterbury as ‘red warning’ weather turns rivers into torrents.Just like the disasters this Government keeps making and the failures they keep dishing up the rivers have broken their banks and tons with farmland are like torrents from the sea.
So let’s face it and ask the next question how are we going to pay for this next disaster as our Earthquake and Natural Disaster funds must be getting close to dry as New Zealand goes from one catastrophe to another over the last few years.
Well isn’t it lucky we have our Celebrity Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern in charge and our whizz kid Finance Minister holding the purse strings to help create more publicity how they will fix this problem and send our children with their children in to greater debt that they will take year to clear.
Will Jacinda Ardern ditch Scott Morrison the Australian Prime Minister in Queenstown to chase votes with hugs and love to the people affected like she has with every other tragedy or disaster that has engulfed New Zealand in her time as Prime Minister or will she give the job to Grant Robertson to weave his magic and come up the billions that will likely be need to fix this one in a a hundred year disaster that they are calling this.

I suppose he’s planning to come to New Zealand on this trip; but it’ll be a very long journey from Aotearoa, so he might not make it. Especially if he has to rub noses with all the Maoris in the government there.

    • Probably the people in charge have double degrees and spend all their time at conferences.

Thirty years ago we worked out as we went along.
So we used belt and braces approach to IT security.
It was always important to test back ups and restore successfully.
To read back and verify back up tapes.
If you cant read it back it is not a back up!

You also had to test that the UPS kicked in and you have a proper wind down procedure to close files and not end up with a mess.
You tried to do tests/restore out of hours and also upgrades on long weekends but sometimes people dont want to pay for that.

This current stuff is pitiful and unacceptable but you can bet there will be SOPs -Standard Operating Procedures – that may or may not make sense and people have CMAs in place.
      CMA – Cover My Arze.
      And ‘elf and safety.
      So much ‘elf and safety

      All care, no responsibility.
The thing here without reading it will be it was a process failure and not even as challenging as a cyber attack.
      Duh.
UPS’s are big batteries and like all batteries, as with electric golf carts posing as cars, the batteries dont last forever.
Under recent poor fiscal management in Health it will no surprises if replacement programs were not adhered to, but no-one will be responsible.

Or it will be that Chinese fella – Sum Wun, but not me.

This is the same issue they have with road building.
Wankers that were ‘ at school’ until 25 years old who, with apparent high qualifications (double degrees), are given responsibility way beyond their real ability.

Whereas road building 50 years ago was by the trusted and proven way.
Fellas served apprenticeships and they got their ears dusted along the way if they stepped out of line .
This resulted in tight regimes and good quality end product.

Now in the sooky world ’30 year babies’ are not to be called failures as they will get hurty feelingz and you will be up before the HR – Human Resources – knuckleheads.
Usually hair chested lesbians with attitude.

We did not have leaky homes 50 years ago.
However leaky homes are still being built today as with the last 28 years and no-one is responsible for these either.
Oh, and no responsibility for experimental mRNA injections into people.

2021 – It is a world without personal responsibility.
Collective yes, kind of like communism!

      • I’ll play Devil’s advocate here because there is actually more to the subject than the weirdos in the Labour Party.

It is part of sex education in schools & has been largely successful in keeping NZ kids safe from the dirty old men in gaberdine coats brigade for the past couple of generations. (in the cases of mum’s live in boyfriend & religious leaders, less so). Instance my generation where we were told to ask our church minister or parents & came back with a head full of crap about our “dirty” parts below our belts or a mumbled dissertation about the birds & the bees.

The fault, in the past, could be put down to parental reluctance to broach the subject when necessary which played no small part in teenage pregnancies & sexual ignorance. Instance girls not having a clue what was happening when their first menses appeared.

The state via teachers has stepped in to dispel the ignorance & in a moralistic, Godaddled society like that of the USA quoted above there is plenty of ignorance to dispel.

One standout for me was the “no” response Ardern gave when challenged on NZ Govts attitude to Chinese human rights abuses.

Her immediate action after the snarky “No” was to look around the rest of the NZ journalists for affirmation with that smart arse grin that people give when they want adulation for being clever. Her expression changed completely when the subsequent question challenged her dismissive response. Says a lot about our vacuous PM.

The feelz, liking sucking on a ‘dummy’
The feelz of having your own little blanket, so you can always sleep safely.
The feelz of pulling the hoodie over your head, to be more akin to not being there.

When my feelz are more worried, then I can tell everyone else, to do something, like put on that mask, and keep your distance, and stay behind the screen..

Then I can feel more safe, but I am still a little bit afraid, so what is then the next worry, that the government will sort out for me?, as I worry I may become more fearful of that, with plenty more good reasons.

Are you sure you are not feeling hotter? whoops colder, are so the Climate Changes, NO not the seasons, Not the weather, but the climate; and government, we must do something.

The precautionary attitude, can be great to relieve my fears; so long as it does not directly affect me too much in my so busy life of compliance .
        The government must do something.

      • It is a feelz, the “pacifiers” that are never grown out of.
Never to grow up, but always looking to return to a concept of the womb.
Like people being giving “wrap around support”.
Maybe that is one of the reasons that “full term abortion” to stop being born, seems to be the aim, a sense of return to the previous state,

As in not quite returning back to the womb yet, as that would sound nonsensical, but give it a few more years. 🙁

      • Our house insurance will no doubt rise as the insurance companies scramble to recover their costs in the wake of these latest floods.

Has anyone ever made a household insurance claim? How did it all work out in the end?

        • I’ve had a couple – insurance company was really good and got us settlement quickly. They give the choice of organising tradies where applicable or lump sum. Biggest issue in a large scale event will be the availability of loss adjusters to do the damage assessments and tradies.

    • NZ Govt (our) DONATIONS to the independent and proud nations of the Pacific each with the same voting rights as NZ on the UN, Whaling commission etc

      https://www.mfat.govt.nz/en/aid-and-development/our-approach-to-aid/where-our-funding-goes/our-planned-aid-expenditure/

Eg in three years each country gets from us kind taxpayers, sample :
      -Vanuatu $75 million
      -PNG $108 million
      -East Timor $51 million
-ASEAN Y’know Malaysia and the likes – $225 million
      -Multilateral Agencies (???) $337 Million
      -Ardern’s Fave and daddy’s hangout — Tuvalu $36 million per 3 years = $12 million a year for 12,000 people

      The prize
      -Niue
$87 million for 3 years, so $29 mill a year for 1200 people,
basically $24,000 of NZ Taxpayers money for every man, woman, and child in Niue.

A family of four in Niue get as much money each and every year from the NZ Govt (U n Me) as the whole of Canterbury.
What with that and money from China, Niue can’t have much child poverdy left !!

Ain’t it great to be a taxpayer.

To be clear, for the 1998 drought Notional provided $80,000 of relief to the farmers.
That was big of big Jenny, the farmer’s wife who cut off Bolger’s tail with a carving knife.
Oh well, can’t have much sympathy for her now: $6 million due over failed Mainzeal Directorship.

      Fecking politicians of all stripes.

    From Seymour/ACT:-

You are warmly invited to attend the community meetings I am holding in June.

COVID vaccines – Facts you should know – Dr Joan Ingram, Infectious Diseases Physician
    Friday 4 June @10.30am
Epsom Baptist Church Hall, 4 Inverary Ave, Epsom

COVID has been the issue that has dominated our lives over the last year.
At this meeting Dr Joan Ingram will explain the development of COVID-19 vaccines and discuss their effectiveness and potential side effects.
Joan is a graduate of the University of Auckland School of Medicine and a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. As an Infectious Diseases Physician she works part time at Auckland City Hospital and until last February ran a travel medicine clinic.
    ————–
How much will she display caution.
I went to one of these (ACT) a few weeks back and the speaker was a dick- as agreed by the person either side of me.
He was an anti car , Pro Auckland council, high density housing developer with few, if any redeeming features.

    • Same with the peoples propaganda outlet, TV1. The took a poll asking whether those polled believe NZ and Australia’s relationship is better or worse since ScoMo became PM. No mention of DL, or that she has been chipping at the Aussies since she took power. 🤨

I have just read your punch line…”He’d just scored a new contract with TV One as the Mad Queen’s make-up artist”, which reminded me of a yarn my aunty had once told me..

She was at a country dance and had obviously applied too much make up…an old Scots farmer (neighbour) said to her,..”it’s a poor paddock that needs that much top dressing”.

  18. Letter from Sue Gray to all the usual suspects.

Dear Chris, Ashley, Prime Minister, Ministers and your various advisors

Please find attached a link to published research from December 2020 showing that the SProtein ( with or without the “Covid” virus) can cause damage to the heart.
This is one of many types of harm being reported in Israel (and elsewhere in the world and now in NZ) in until then healthy people who received the Pfizer vaccine.
    Please provide information to show:
    1) when you and/ or your advisors first because aware of this or any similar research of damage to heart muscle from the S protein, and
    2) what steps you took on first or subsequently becoming aware of it, including who you notified and if and how this impacted on the Pfizer Vax approval.
    3) What if any steps you are now taking to alert doctors, Vaccinators and/ or the wider public of the obvious risks and to correct your earlier messaging which claims this experimemtal mRNA Vaccine is “safe and effective” and “approved by Medsafe”.

    4) what compensation is available to New Zealanders and their families who a) suffered myocardial harm after receiving the Pfizer vaccine or
b ) suffered any employment disadvantage after declining to have this experimental vaccine that the government knew or should have known was potentially harmful.

  20. May have been commented on the other day?
A letter from a nurse that has resigned after 27 years of service.

….. We are patient advocates not government puppets. …..
….. a deafening silence and a sickening desire to simply comply by you and so many of my colleagues that I cannot and will not condone. …..
….. who state they are unable to consider any evidence presented to them that questions the official narrative and state that they must simply comply with government ‘guidance’ regardless of any harm they may cause ……
…. needs have been disrespected and disregarded because ‘Covid-19’ is a priority over, it seems, every other illness, …..

    https://www.conservativewoman.co.uk/the-covid-silence-that-drove-a-nurse-to-quit/

Well worth the read as she brings up many points, like how people are treated if not masked up, pointing out the memes to psychologically create fear & guilt trip people.

Nurses should be knowledgeable about how the tests work, to see how they have been fabricated to create this supposed health threat.

She can see the marketing of covid to protect the vulnerable, with no consideration, of just who is vulnerable to the draconian actions.

Points to the connivance and even black mail to patients comply or they would be struck off a waiting list.

How “informed consent” is glossed over, blurred, when nurses should be much more knowledgeable about the vaccines, and the experimental status.

How as a nurse, she is not allowed to question some practices in regard to covid.
Noticing also how any patient who questions is labelled.

And a few more points she makes, so well worth a read, as she really makes those points.
The brief points I put, do not give her well articulated letter justice.
Worth taking those points for yourself to use in regard to your own health practioners.

  21. Japan in No Hurry to Get Vaccinated. Just 1% Injected So Far

Two months before the scheduled start of the Olympic Games in Tokyo, COVID-19 cases are rising steeply in Japan while immunization is moving at a glacial pace. Only 1% of the population is fully vaccinated, a much lower fraction than in the United States, Europe, India, and China. That has led some to ask whether the Olympics should proceed, and others to urge an overhaul of the cumbersome immunization campaign and a rethink of Japan’s regulatory approach—which so far has authorized only one vaccine, produced by Pfizer and BioNTech.

  22. Correspondence from Byram Briddle

You are one of hundreds of people that have been blind carbon copied on this e-mail. Last Thursday evening I was interviewed on radio about COVID-19 vaccines for children and adolescents (https://omny.fm/shows/on-point-with-alex-pierson/new-peer-reviewed-study-on-covid-19-vaccines-sugge). This interview went viral around the world. Although I received hundreds of supportive e-mails and phone calls from around the globe, a vicious smear campaign has been initiated against me. This included the creation of a libelous website using my domain name. Such are the times that an academic public servant can no longer answer people’s legitimate questions with honesty and based on science without fear of being harassed and intimidated.

However, it is not in my nature to allow scientific facts to be hidden from the public. I have attached a brief report that outlines the key science in support of what I said. This was written with my colleagues in the Canadian COVID Care Alliance (CCCA). We are a group of independent Canadian doctors, scientists, and professionals aiming to provide top quality, evidence-based information about COVID-19, intent on reducing hospitalizations and saving more lives. Our goal is to provide you with unbiased, peer-reviewed science that is relevant for you so that you can stay on the leading edge of the ever-evolving data, while at the same time focussing all of your efforts on your wellbeing, or, if you are a medical practitioner, the wellbeing of your patients.

Please feel free to send the attached brief report to as many people as possible. It is a very important message to get out to all Canadians.

The Canadian COVID Care Alliance is drafting a more extensive document that will dive into broader and deeper details about issues related to COVID-19 vaccines and youth. If you are interested in receiving this full article when it is ready, please sign-up to our e-mail distribution list at https://mailchi.mp/5666d252288c/canadian-covid-care-alliance. Please do not e-mail me directly for this request since my inbox is currently unmanageable.

Because I care about our children,

    Byram
