  1. Resign Ardern. You are a danger and threat to
what remains of decent New Zealanders. People
who did NOT vote for you. People who pay your
obscene salary. And your attitude is to shit on
them and take away their freedoms and rights.
You are a failure, a disgrace and a traitor.

Have a great day you YSB er’s.

  2. Morning Troopers.

In a stunning example of Labour’s inability to comprehend real-world scenarios, the “transport minister”, Michael Wood, doesn’t understand that to raise the price of a new car, also raises the price of secondhand cars. He is of the view that poorer folk, who purchase used cars, won’t be impacted by the NEW TAX.

  3. These rich, capitalist pricks deserve to be punished. How dare they own three restaurants. They must be run out of business, and forced to open a soup kitchen.

“The owners of three top Auckland restaurants will be closing their businesses for two weeks because they don’t have staff to keep going through the school holidays.

Restaurateurs Sid and Chand Sahrawat, who own Cassia, Sidart and the French Cafe, said the closures would cost them about $300,000 in takings, but they didn’t have a choice.

“We just don’t have the people, and our staff have been working one-and-a-half times just to keep the business going and they are physically and mentally drained,” Chand Sahrawat said.

Some of the staff the business had lost were those on working holiday visas, who had returned to Europe after they couldn’t get confirmation from Immigration NZ about extensions.

She said locals were not responding to job advertisements, or did not show up for interviews and even agencies had no candidates to offer.”

    • They neglect to ask the ppl telling these sob stories one important thing… “who did you vote for in last years election” the answer will determine if sympathy or laughter is the correct response to the story

      • And that is the perfect question IAASB. Everyone who goes out of business, walks off their farm or anything else in the business world needs to be asked, Just who did you vote for? And they should be able to back it up. Anyone that voted for this Liarbour government deserves to be closing down. Serves them right. So glad to see Act are moving up, of course I have never been asked on any of these polls so perhaps liarbour might be worse off than even that. I live in hope.

    Wtf!
Unless you have a precluding medical condition, like anaphylaxis, refusing to roll up your sleeve for the Pfizer jab should be seen as economically and socially feckless.

Medsafe is tipped to approve a child vaccine in the coming months. Notably, Covid-19 Response Minister, Chris Hipkins, has been at pains to say that everyone eligible for vaccination “will be offered that opportunity” before the end of the year.

    • They’ve changed their tune again. It was “vaccinated” by the end of the year. Now it’s “offered” a vaccine. They could “offer” everyone a vaccine right now. Doesn’t mean they can deliver.

Sounds good in theory, but I am already hearing tales of coercion (As in ‘If you don’t have the jab, don’t bother coming back to work’), even in some Government departments (No names; yet!)

The ‘minister’ will, of course, deny all knowledge / responsibility.

    • I forget whether I posted this here . Interesting news from Portugal. It was being claimed that over 17,000 people had died of covid but now we find that the real figure is somewhat lower. The same no doubt applies elsewhere.

“Since March 2020, 152 people have died of covid in Portugal, formally indicated by the Ministry of Health and confirmed by a court. All the “others” died from everything else that kills and only had a useless positive PCR test!”

We live in a fraud of unprecedented dimensions.

      • “We live in a fraud of unprecedented dimensions.”

Assuming the Portuguese Ministry of Health is correct, what would happen if National took the line that “This is just a bad flu. Open the borders. Protect the vulnerable. Get back to work!”
Would the people of New Zealand accept this bold initiative and rally behind the opposition, or would the people of Aotearoa panic and throw their support behind Labour and even more authoritarian controls for “safety and security”?

        12

        0

        • To be honest, that would be worth a try, if only to see how many Aotearoans there are living in the former New Zealand.

But would National propose this? No fucking chance. ACT wouldn’t propose it either, judging by their form.

We desperately need an opposition party with some balls. A party which will come out in defence of Kiwis and call bullshit (in clear language) on the Covid tyranny, the climate change claptrap and the fucking Maori separatism problem (to name just a few).

          16

          • Let’s list the “truths” in society.
            – COVID-19 is a deadly pandemic
            – Climate change is driven by CO2 released by human activities
            – CRT should be implemented in the public, private and education sectors
            – Diversity* is strength
            – Hate* speech must be punished
            – Capitalism* is bad
            – White supremacy* is a threat to society

            * All these terms are not defined. For example, if “whiteness” means studying and working hard, pursuing long-term goals, staying with your partner and raising your children in a stable environment, then I am “white,” along with most of India and East Asia (almost 3 billion people).

            14

            0

        • The latter.

Aotearoans have no desire to be out from under Jacinda Ardern’s boot. They prefer to be subjugated, ridiculed, vilified for their skin colour. They support debt to help them and condemn their children. They support sexual abuse of minors as long as it is for the Labour Party. They are ashamed of being a man or a woman. They just have no spine.

New Zealanders on the other hand?

          15

              • I am certainly noticing the “A” name in the media.

From a Japanese perspective, the notion of a people unable to speak the name of their nation with pride is unthinkable! Are the people of this nation so mixed up that they don’t even know what to call their own country!?

                信じられない!!

                13

                0

                  • Actually, it would be easier for Japanese to pronounce “Aotearoa” than “New Zealand” because the Japanese and Maori vowels are identical.

Thousands of years ago, the Polynesians and some of the peoples who migrated to Japan came from the same place. Linguistically there are similarities to this day.

              • 100% New Zealanders, we are a falling number perhaps but all this integrating Maori into our English language is ridiculous, either speak Maori or English if you want to speak English go for it, otherwise speak totally Maori. I don’t understand it at all, have no wish to either but the number of people saying Keeeeoora on their phone messages is sickening to me. I’m not leaving a message with them.

            • We are New Zealanders.

That is the official name of our country. It is not a colonial scholar’s appropriation for part of the North Island. Maori were not a unified tribe that had a single nation. That came later, when the British unified the country under one rule and one set of laws.

It is the name given to our country and re-affirmed in our founding document, the Treaty of Waitangi, where the Maori chieftains ceded their sovereignty to the Queen and became full citizens of our Commonwealth.

Or is it that the “delta scariant” though more contagious does not naturally make more hospitalizations.
That angle of less hospitalizations would be pushed by drug companies, and the media narrative.

I would also think that many people would be self starting first treatments, the ones they can easily and lawfully lay their hands, like Vitamin C, Vitamin D, Zinc supplements.
Probably also many Doctors, quietly say, that is a good idea, despite what the authoritarians disparage, and demand.

  6. Treasury warns Government debt is on unsustainable trajectory ‘, but not because of COVID-19 spending.
The Questions still need to be asked though because this Government has used debt as a slush fund any time a problem has surfaced and large sums of money have been needed, camera’s on our fishing trawlers is one that comes to mind, so hide and decieve has been a major factor in their Governance.
Or is this just another chance for Treasury to get there way on NZ Superannuation after two Prime Ministers John Key and Jacinda Ardern have stated that it will never happen under their watch as Prime Ministers of New Zealand.

        That ’72 to ’75 Govt did intro a wide ranging Super scheme;
        which Muldoon scrapped.

Private super contributions were tax deductible until the same Rogering Douglas removed that circa 1985.

Now we have the current useless thing called Kiwisaver where the Govt pays a wee bit ($521) into your account if you meet conditions. Pathetic.

  10. The Italian lover, a virile middle-aged gentleman, was relaxing at his favourite bar in Rome when he managed to attract the attention of a spectacular young blond woman.
Things progressed to the point where he led her back to his apartment and, after some small talk, they retired to his bedroom where he rattled her senseless.
After a pleasant interlude, he asked with a smile, “So, you finish?”
She paused for a second, frowned, and replied. “No.”
Surprised, he reached for her and the rattling resumed. This time she thrashed about wildly and there were screams of passion.
It finally ended and, again, he smiled and asked, “You finish?”
Again, after a short pause, she returned his smile, cuddled closer to him and softly said, “No.”
Stunned, but damned if he was going to leave this woman unsatisfied, he reached for her yet again.
Using the last of his strength, he barely managed it, but they ended together screaming, bucking, clawing and ripping the bed sheets.
Exhausted, he fell onto his back, gasping. Barely able to turn his head, he looked into her eyes, smiled proudly and asked again, “You finish??

Barely able to speak, the beautiful blonde whispered in his ear… “No, I Norwegian.”

….. he sees himself as a “fighter for the liberal democratic basic order itself, for a liberal constitutional state.”

“What is happening in this country worries me—that we are slipping into an authoritarian state, into a state-sponsored cowardice, he told the left-wing Telos magazine last week.

“I want people to notice where we are going and to become citizens, not subjects who are wards of the state that provides them with everything they need to live.
Many people have lost the ability to lead a self-determined life, to take risks,”

  15. Latest from Hobsons Pledge

UNDRIP consultation follows two govts plan
Consultation on the implementation in New Zealand of the United Nation’s Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous People will start with Maori groups, Maori Development Minister Willie Jackson confirmed on Thursday. See More UNDRIP consultation

Although he said the He Puapua plan for two governments under tribal control is not the Government’s plan, the fact that consultation with Maori groups will take place first, plus a series of steps already undertaken that were also part of the He Puapua plan, makes it difficult to shake the perception that the He Puapua plan is exactly what the Government proposes.

Just in case any readers are hazy on what He Puapua is all about, the plan prescribes:

A fully bicultural sphere of solely Crown governance that includes Parliament, the Beehive, and the civil service, as currently exists, to govern the 4.5 million non-Maori citizens of New Zealand.
A sphere of solely Maori governance, with the same level of authority and responsibility as shown in the diagram above to govern the half million citizens of Maori descent.
The two spheres will overlap creating a “co-governance sphere” in which the Crown and Maori share governance in “matters of mutual concern”.
Progress towards two governments would be monitored by a group named the Aotearoa Independent Monitoring Group, a group created by the Iwi Leaders Group.
The Crown will be accountable to the United Nations for setting this up.
The plan would extend the model of the separate Maori health authority, which is currently under construction, to the entire government.

Our petition against the separate governments plan has picked up more than 8500 signatures. If you have not done so already, click here to sign Reject co-governance

Half of all water assets may be quietly given to tribes
Hobson’s Pledge opposes the Three Waters plan released last week, in which all of New Zealand’s water services will be amalgamated into four super entities, because it is intended that the proposed regional groups will be governed on a 50/50 basis between local authorities on the one hand and Maori tribal groups on the other. See Three waters shake-up

There will be four water entities: one encompassing Northland and Auckland, the second covering the centre of the North Island as well as Tauranga and the Bay of Plenty, and the third taking in the east coast down to Wellington – this entity takes the top of the South Island too, specifically Nelson and Marlborough. The final entity covers the rest of the South Island.

The plan, which cites modelling that appears to promise savings for households, would transfer water assets from local authorities to the new entities, governed, as noted, on a 50/50 basis by local authorities on the one hand and tribal groups on the other.

There has been no mention of compensation for what will be in effect the confiscation of assets from the people who paid for them.

It looks like Local Government Minister Nanaia Mahuta is facing an uphill battle managing to convince councils. The Whangarei District Council pulled out on June 29, a day before the announcement, and the mayor of Auckland has also expressed severe misgivings. See Mahuta not convincing

It doesn’t look like there is an opportunity for taxpayers to have a say on this.

Last year the Department of Internal Affairs consulted Maori groups only, following the He Puapua prescription mentioned above. The Joint Three Waters Steering Committee will continue to negotiate with local government, tribes, and industry professionals through this year. See Three waters reform.

There are multiple streams from which financial contributions might be sourced, including, for example, levies on resource use, where Maori have a clear interest if not strong claim to ownership, such as water.

        • This is just the beginning.
It is water that powers hydro electricity.

Once this ‘ownership ‘ (aka stewardship, ‘1984’ talk ) is established on town water supply they will use the precedent to move on to the hydro, bottled water for export and so on.

          Hydro-electricity.
Note the plan is to have electricity as the only source of power to consumers. Petrol, diesel, gas to be phased out .
Imported coal to run thermal power but all ‘power’ will be from the Govt and with smart meters you better behave.
Hard to store it unlike diesel or petrol.

          It is in the plan.

I wonder if Watene and Wehi have ever sailed in the southern waters?

He made a complete twat of himself on the news last night and seemed genuinely bemused that those damned poor people had the temerity to question his judgement. Obviously a Labour appointee.

  18. Party propaganda outlets are reporting on the adverse effects of the vaccine in order to take control of the narrative and give the illusion of transparency.

This is a classic propaganda technique.

The reality is that, adverse reactions are wide spread and serious. This includes numerous deaths.

Regardless, flu vaccines are largely useless due to the constantly changing nature of viruses. New strains will, and are, evolving as I write.

People only get the shot to show their political allegences and for group validation and approval.

    15

    • The natural trend in viruses is to favor more contagious but less lethal mutations. This is a sign that the original strain of the coronavirus that caused all this pandemic panic is phasing out, like the Spanish flu last century. This is a good sign.

    • Hmm I’d sya death ranks up there as a serious side affect. Probably around 25 – 30 thousand world wide, but it’s an insignificant number when taken against the vaccine rollout, insignificant in terms of stats, but not so much in terms of 30,000 grieving families….. dead mums and dads, brothers and sisters, children.

  23. Remember when talking about the Maori Party that John Tamihere was the party co-leader up to the election last year when Rawiri Waititi took over the male co-leader role.

He was on the list and was also candidate for the (racist/separatist) Auckland Maori seat.

Rawiri Waititi is married to John Tamihere’s daugher so is his son in law.

Factor that in when looking at John Tamihere’s politics. and the current Maori party.
Tamihere stood for Mayor of Auckland in 2019 with Christine Fletcher as proposed deputy and Michele Boag on his organisation team, with Matt McCarten smelling up the place as well.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rawiri_Waititi

I think we can perhaps see John Tamihere’s politics more clearly now.

Legality of New Zealand’s Covid-19 lockdown heard in Court of Appeal

An argument against the legality of the Covid-19 lockdown put in place to stop the spread of the virus last year is being heard in the Court of Appeal.
    https://www.tvnz.co.nz/one-news/new-zealand/legality-new-zealands-covid-19-lockdown-heard-in-court-appeal?auto=0

A lawyer acting for Dr Andrew Borrowdale successfully argued in the High Court in Wellington last year that one aspect of the lockdown was unlawful, but now Borrowdale is appealing other claims that failed.

James Farmer QC opened the hearing today, arguing on behalf of Borrowdale that Director-General of Health Dr Ashley Bloomfield did not have the legal authority to order a national lockdown, despite the requirement being necessary to stop the spread of the virus.

National leader Judith Collins has spoken up for a columnist who was stripped of her guns over a tweet police considered to be “threatening”.

Stewart, in response to Speak Up For Women supporters being labelled “grubs” on Twitter by an advocate who accused them of being anti-transgender, responded with a tweet that police considered to be threatening.

“Is it wrong that the country girl in me wants to invite my gun-toting sisters over, strip this wee f***er naked, let him loose in the back paddock, jump on the tray of the ute, and hunt him down with spotlights while whooping & hollering & drinking?”

As Collins switched up topics again, this time probing the requirement of some Government agencies to award a small fraction of their contracts to Māori businesses, Ardern suggested a lack of Opposition strategy.

Heart inflammation after COVID-19 shots higher than expected in study of U.S. military

The study found that 23 previously healthy males with an average age of 25 complained of chest pain within four days of receiving a COVID-19 shot. The incident rate was higher than some previous estimates would have anticipated, it said.

All the patients, who at the time of the study’s publication had recovered or were recovering from myocarditis – an inflammation of the heart muscle – had received shots made by either Pfizer Inc (PFE.N) and BioNTech SE (22UAy.DE) or Moderna Inc (MRNA.O).

  30. Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?

Dr Siouxsie Wiles MNZM recently detailed the “Red Flags” identifying false and misleading information.

You just know this has to be good.

    Her red flags:

Are they downplaying the seriousness of the pandemic? Are they claiming that most people survive Covid-19 just fine? That it’s just a bad flu?

Well, there are numerous studies to draw on. For example, Stanford Professor of Medicine and Epidemiology John P. A. Ioniddis estimates the global infection fatality rate at 0.15-0.20% (0.03-0.04% in those <70 years).

Most people do survive Covid-19 just fine.

For the USA covid-19 is worse than the 1957 ’flu but not as bad as 1936. The IFR for the Spanish ’Flu was 2 percent with 99 percent of excess deaths aged under 45.

The median age of death from Covid-19 in Western Countries is 80 plus years.

The risk of catching and dying from Covid-19 varies 10,000-fold according to age.

For the young and the healthy, it’s a bad ’flu.

Are they emphasising your personal choice and freedoms over acting for the collective good?

Tyrants always appeal to the collective good. And dictate what is required. It's no surprise those advocating lockdowns, masks, social distancing and quarantine promote the “collective good’. Or that those wary of government advocate freedom and choice.

Are they pushing some supplement as a cure or treatment for Covid-19?

As just one example, according to Dr Wiles, Dr Stephanie F. Ling and her colleagues peddle disinformation with their study finding a correlation between vitamin D and reduced risk of mortality.

It’s just a study amongst the multitude but it hardly classifies as misinformation.

[I]s the information presented in a way that seems designed to make you angry or scared. Good information put out to help you make an informed choice won’t do that.

The irony is that Stuff and their experts make me angry and many people scared by reporting apocalyptic predictions with no grounding in fact. Too many of their stories recort what “could” happen rather than what has happened.

Mentioning facts, reminds that Dr Wiles doesn’t produce any.

This from Stuff begging for a dollar; “The safety of all New Zealanders relies on everyone getting important information — based on science and facts”. Stuff is invariably deficient in both. Hint: science is not a person, organisation, or prediction; it is the method of critically testing ideas.

Those who would have us Follow the Science are the new totalitarians. It’s not just that they don’t distinguish “ought” from “is”, they don’t even care for what “is”.

  32. EXEMPTION EXTENDED
Electric vehicles are exempt from paying road user charges that normally apply to vehicles that don’t pay for petrol at the pump. This exemption has been extended to March 31, 2024 as part of the Government’s Clean Car Package. EV users will presumably face RUCs then. What is the story for hybrids which do use minor amounts of pump petrol? Does that give them exemption from RUC charges?

  33. People in Central Otago are being warned to prepare for a potentially cold night without power this evening with outages in some parts of the region.
    https://www.tvnz.co.nz/one-news/new-zealand/areas-in-central-otago-facing-cold-night-without-power?auto=0

Aurora Energy said this afternoon strong winds in the region caused “significant damage” to powerlines in and around Roxburgh, Ettrick and Clyde and while crews are working as fast as possible to repair them, it may not be enough.

“This has been a significant weather event that has brought down trees and power lines,” an Aurora Energy spokesperson said.

“With a cold snap coming on, we’re urging residents to be prepared to be without power through the night, and possibly into the morning Wednesday as work continues to repair the infrastructure.”

  34. Clean car discount: Up to 107,000 motorists to be stung with new tax under ‘feebate’ scheme

As many as 107,400 motorists will be hit with charges of up to $5175 next year under the Government’s scheme to encourage drivers to switch to electric vehicles and hybrids.

The Clean Car Discount, or “feebate” scheme, charges fees on imported cars of up to $5175 which are then used to subsidise discounts of up to $8625 for people buying EVs, hybrids and other low-pollution cars.

New figures have revealed the Government’s own modelling expects between 74,600 and 107,400 cars to be hit with “fees” under the feebate scheme in 2022.

Officials don’t yet know how many cars will be hit with fees beyond next year, because the rates of fee and subsidy and the sort of vehicles they apply to haven’t been set yet.
