  1. Dorothy and Edna, two “senior” widows, are talking.
Dorothy: “That nice George Johnson asked me out for a date. I know you went out with him last week, and I wanted to talk with you about him before I give him my answer.”
Edna: “Well, I’ll tell you. He shows up at my apartment punctually at 7pm, dressed like such a gentleman in a fine suit, and he brings me such beautiful flowers!
Then he takes me downstairs. And what’s there; a limousine, uniformed chauffeur and all. Then he takes me out for dinner; a marvellous dinner, lobster, champagne, dessert, and after-dinner drinks.
Then we go see a show. Let me tell you Dorothy, I enjoyed it so much I could have just died from pleasure!
So then we are coming back to my apartment and he turns into an ANIMAL. Completely crazy, he tears off my expensive new dress and has his way with me three times!”
Dorothy: “Goodness gracious! So you are telling me I shouldn’t go?”
Edna: “No, no, no … I’m just saying, wear an old dress.”

  2. Survey of Practicing Physicians Shows Support for Mass Injections ‘Far From Unanimous’: Medical Association
    By Allan Stein
    July 21, 2021 Updated: July 22, 2021
    biggersmaller Print

An internet survey by a non-partisan physicians’ association found that most respondents have not been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or plan to get the shot.

In the June 16 online survey by the American Association of Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS) in Tuscon, Arizona, nearly 60 percent of over 700 both retired and practicing physicians said they were not fully vaccinated and would decline the shots based on their assessment of risk.

  3. Archeologists Uncover Remains of Ancient City Wall Built in Iron Age in the Kingdom of Judah in Israel
    By Michael Wing
    July 17, 2021 Updated: July 20, 2021

The remains of an ancient city wall—built in the Iron Age to protect the city of David in the Kingdom of Judah—has been unearthed by archaeologists in the City of David National Park in Israel as part of a park development.

The wall was erected in the days of the First Temple to protect the city from invaders from the east; but it was breached in 586 B.C. by the Babylonians, who proceeded to enter and destroy the city.

Pennsylvania’s top election official has decertified the voting system of rural Fulton County for future elections, saying that an election assessment by a third party had violated the Keystone State’s election code, according to a release on Wednesday.

  5. Unions want all workers to be eligible for paid sick leave from their very first day of employment.
    https://www.tvnz.co.nz/one-news/new-zealand/unions-calls-sick-leave-available-day-one-employment?auto=0

From tomorrow, changes to double minimum sick leave entitlements from five to 10 days come into effect – but it won’t benefit everyone.

Sick leave is only available after six months of continuous employment, meaning new employees and people on temporary contracts often face the choice of going to work unwell or going without pay.

Workplace Relations and Safety Minister Michael Wood said the government was working on changes to allow employees to start accruing sick leave as soon as they began a new job.

    • Still catching up.
Interested that there’s no comments on this. It’s potentially another rather big nail.
This will severely narrow the job market.
If you have no experience, skillset, along with referees, good luck getting a job now!
This will have a major impact on the job market.

  7. ACT has lashed the Government for putting civil servants through a course on diversity.

Emails released under the Official Information Act reveal it’s cost the Ministry of Education almost $700,000 alone.

Participants are told recognising privilege acknowledges our colonial history and its impact on society.

But ACT Leader David Seymour says it’s just old fashioned profiling, racism and discrimination.

“They say it’s normal for people to feel a sense of shame and guilt when going through this course, that more than half of the Ministry of Education bureaucracy has had to do.”

  9. I really don’t mind if you take the vaccine or if you don’t take it – this should be a personal choice. When I become convinced there are no long term risks, that it adds value and that I need it I’ll take it. For now, I’m not yet in that position and am comfortable watching, learning and understanding.

I also think Covid-19 is more serious than the flu, but I also don’t think it is a deadly scourge that is going to leave us with a Walking Dead type of society afterwards. Millions are going to die with it. But our world isn’t really living at the moment and I place more importance on that than Covid-19. There’s no point to this whole rock if we’re not living.

So read this in that context, please.

I am beyond fucked off at Labour Party supporters.

In their language “front of the queue” means we are 3 months late in ordering. And they vigorously defend this saying “we are Covid free”.

Which is a fair point until you realise that our border is 2.5 times more leaky than the Australian border. And we are 1 case away from it spreading like liquid butter. We don’t have a functional health system. We don’t have any natural immunity like the rest of the world have built up over a year.

We are sitting ducks for bad numbers. So defending the lack of vaccination as if its a virtue is fucking moronic.

He asks his wife, “Where did you get that necklace?”
She replies, “I won it in a raffle at work. Go get my bath ready while I start dinner.”
The next day, the women arrives home from work wearing a diamond bracelet.
Her husband asks, “Where did you get the bracelet?”
She replies, “I won it in a raffle at work. Go get my bath ready while I start dinner.”
The next day, her husband notices she arrives home from work wearing a mink coat.
He says, “I suppose you won that in a raffle at work?”
She replies, “Yeah I did! How did you guess? Go get my bath ready while I start supper.”
Later after supper, she goes to take her bath and she notices there is only one inch of water in the tub.
She yells to her husband, “HEY! There’s only an inch of water in the tub.”
He replies, “I didn’t want you to get your raffle ticket wet.”

Simon O’Conner tried to introduce an amendment that said babies that survive a botched abortion should not be left to die like our kind PM would like. This amendment was voted down. 13. Here is why we are in a mess with the virus information issue. With twisted logic like this from a medical “expert” what can go wrong?

    https://www.theepochtimes.com/mkt_breakingnews/49-fully-vaccinated-new-jersey-residents-have-died-from-covid-19_3913918.html?utm_source=News&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=breaking-2021-07-22-2&mktids=26bfeb07596a410fadb4f70f64557787&est=%2FFK2lQICHklXe1r6nCxneQAT0ZUaYd8WMOdS6CDDtglceTYN6iZQCGVJJMHGO8RT

“The 49 deaths come from the pool of 4.8 million residents who have gotten a vaccine, making the death rate slightly greater than one in 100,000 fully vaccinated people.

“That means vaccines are about 99.999 percent effective in preventing deaths due to COVID-19,” Dr. Ed Lifshitz, medical director of the department’s Communicable Disease Service, said in an emailed statement.”

To arrive at that BS statement he is assuming ALL those who got the jab had Covid at the time , which obviously cannot be correct.

  14. Here’s Michael “I’m a socialist” Wood’s debut on the panel this morning.

Labour MP Michael Wood condemns Mongrel Mob member Harry Tam’s use of ‘sieg heil’ but won’t rule out working with him in fiery on-air clash
    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/2021/07/labour-mp-michael-wood-condemns-mongrel-mob-member-harry-tam-s-use-of-sieg-heil-but-won-t-rule-out-working-with-him-in-fiery-on-air-clash.html

But Wood wouldn’t go as far as ruling out further funding for a Mongrel Mob meth rehabilitation programme which Tam is involved in.

“Well here is where we deal with the challenges of dealing with people on meth and other serious drugs. Sometimes to get to those people and to help them, you might need to work with some people who aren’t exactly the upstanding paragons of virtue that you ideally would.”

But National MP Simon Bridges, who was on the panel with Wood, disagreed, interrupting with “rubbish”.

“I think the reality is in any other area, if this was a contractor in any other area they would be cancelled if they [the Government] saw this footage,” he said.

  15. The Golden Goose Farmers Poem
    for Jacinda Ardern.
    by Graeme Williams.

    Dear Aunty Jacinda,
    A moment if I may,
A response I think is needed,
To the protest the other day.
    Farmers are generally too busy,
To rally and cause a stink,
    But their overwhelming response,
Must have made you stop and think.
You see, thinking has been lacking,
    in your policies I suggest,
    Possibly economic incompetence,
and bureaucratic bullshit at its best.
    Your policies are from fairyland,
Hindering what the farmers they produce,
    I struggle with economic logic,
    Of screwing the Golden Goose.
You see New Zealand has been founded,
on the Farmers and the land,
    Farming and economic strength,
    Symbiotically go hand in hand.
    The reason isn’t rocket science,
Be it vege, milk or meat,
    Irrespective of the daily grind,
All the people they must eat.
    As we saw in Covid,
    Panic buying to the fore,
Wonder what you’ll eat next time,
When Farmers cant be Farmers anymore.
    Choked by impractical bureaucracy,
    They all have had enough,
    Supermarkets full of humble pie,
Hmmm, the menu could be rough.
    A majority of Farmers,
Are a cut above the rest,
    They understand the logic,
of not shitting in ones nest.
    The bar is constantly rising,
    By peering over the fence.
Labour, I suggest, should peer as well,
    And view some Common Sense.
    Labour in a literal sense,
Listed to mean grafting in a role,
    Labour in the current sense,
Means top pay on the dole.
    Screwing the diligent workforce,
    The productive and the hearty,
Sending the country down the gurgler,
    Thanks to Jacindas “Labourless” party.
The protest by the diligent Farmers,’
    For the country shouldn’t shock,
They nurture and protect the land,
infinitely better than Labour does with DOC.
    Instead of crippling progressive farmers,
    and dictating them with force,
I suggest leading the charge by example,
And controlling DOCs Broom and Gorse.
    So Cheers to Laurie Paterson,
And Bryce McKenzie in the South,
    You did what needed doing,
Giving the cause the focus and the mouth.
    The Golden Goose is Farming,
And Common Sense there needs to be,
Otherwise the Goose and country’s completely plucked,
But spelt with an “F” and not a “P”.

    https://www.newshub.co.nz/home/politics/2021/07/covid-19-quarantine-free-travel-with-australia-paused-as-several-states-battle-outbreaks.html

For the next seven days, managed return flights for New Zealanders will be departing from all states and territories. Citizens or those who are ordinarily residents of New Zealand will require proof of a negative test pre-departure.

Additionally, those who have been in New South Wales will still be required to complete 14 days at a managed isolation and quarantine facility (MIQ). Those who have been in Victoria must self-isolate upon return and return a negative day three test.

Anyway, she whined on Twitter that one of the Doctors she mentioned in her propaganda piece shitting on scientists who don’t believe exactly what she tells them to has decided to start legal action for defamation. And she’s upset that they sent her the documents on a Friday.

I happened to mention that, in essence, if you don’t want to worry about legal action on a Friday maybe you shouldn’t smear people as part of your propaganda campaign. In very different words.

Guess who’s not allowed to see her Tweets anymore? Less than an hour after commenting as well.

  21. Been out to lunch today with a friend who works (teaching) in Qatar. He explained the Covid regs they have there and the very sophisticated app they all have to have on their phones. Much better and stricter than NZ. He basically had to get the jab ..ie. no choice. So he had his two jabs back in March, got his negative test before he came to NZ but he still had to do the 14 day quarantine.

Can someone tell what is the point of getting jab if the NZ Govt do not trust them ? Because that is what they are saying by making those that have been “vaccinated” go into quarantine.

It is all a farce, in my view.

In an eerily Black Mirroresque move, Morrisons will be trialing the first ever ‘unmanned’ supermarket which will have no members of staff.

The experiment, which could result in a revolutionary change for the grocery giant’s stores and its staff, will be using cameras to monitor the shop, with reports saying that customers will be required to download an app that is scanned upon entry.
The cameras will then monitor and track where shoppers are and what items are being dropped into customer’s baskets.
