  2. When is Jacinda going to wake up that the she is going to leave NZer’s with large unemployment all in the quest for fame, she doesn’t have to worry as the PM earns a lot of money and wouldn’t find it difficult to obtain another job, her man in wait is also paid good money so her policy won’t affect him. So you have to look at who it will affect and the answer is it will hurt the dummies that vote Jacinda first and Labour second and when it turns to shit she with Labour will leave it to someone else to fix.

      • Wages ,welfare, climate change and all above, while I don’t begrudge families being paid to look after spouse’s with disabilities $25.00 a hour when your minimum wage is not quite $18.00,do you think workers struggling to make a living will put up with that so more strikes on the cards without business having their say on it and can only mean employers laying off staff.

    • What makes you think that Ardern isn’t destroying the economy of NZ deliberately?

Both her and Peters have stated that capitalism has failed; they appear to making that a self-fulfilled prophecy.

Unemployed people are more likely to vote Labour.

Her virtue signalling has been noticed on the world stage and more importantly improves her odds at getting a plum job at the UN; being prime minister is just a stepping stone position.

      • Hopefully any people that are still working by the time of the election will resent paying so much tax to bludgers and benes that they will vote Labour out!

        • Sadly, it looks likely that the CoL will get one more term. Their flustercuck policies that they’re implementing aren’t really going to bite until 2021-3; there appears to be enough drag in the economy for them to coast on until then.

If ACT were to win in 2020 with National and the New Conservatives as minor parties, they might have the wherewithal to reverse the impending disaster. I wouldn’t trust National to do it. Their record of reversing Labour policies is dismal. (Admittedly, NC are untested but I don’t want to live in a theocracy).

          • If they are in a coalition with ACT and the NC’s they might be forced to do a bit of repealing.

Vote for the New Conservatives & that’s what you’ll get. There’s nothing fiscally conservative about them.

What they want is God, suffering, God, a return to the religion saturated 1950s, God & mother’s homemade apple pie.

    • Right RM but the billion tree plan was a response to NZF election funding from the forest industry who have always struggled to meet their own planting requirements. As that grand plan fails like Kiwibuild as the nefs wont get off the couch. Planting natives is the new alternative as they can be planted anywhere on public land but have some major drawback to getting any significant emissions offset. There very slow growth rate meaning their aesthetic benefits take a long time to be seen as well as it being illegal to cut down.
Interestingly even back in the day there was a constant vacancy listed for silver-culture workers but don’t recall any enquirers. Fast forward to today few will be surprised the forest industry is still struggling with replanting. So much so they are pushing the Government to be able to bring in foreign workers. Meanwhile the slowing economy is creating another unintended consequence for the PGF as Jones struggles to throw cash around in the regions.

    • “Paul Spoonley, who has stepped down as pro-vice chancellor of Massey’s college of humanities and social sciences after being awarded a fellowship to study in Germany, said he had encountered “a lot of respect” in academic and research circles there for the way New Zealand had responded to the attacks”.

So Mr Multicultural NZ is off to Germany on some junket fellowship undoubtedly awarded by some left wing think tank.

He seems to be using every angle to shut down good discussion and debate on it.

“In ways that were hard to predict, we have become not just diverse, but “superdiverse”. Nice word but what it does mean?

“Superdiversity is a term coined by a friend of mine, Steve Vertovec, who is a director at the Max Planck Institute in Germany, to signal countries and especially cities that exceeded a threshold of 25 per cent of a population from minority, ethnic and immigrant communities.”

It seems that Spoonley set up a nice good income.

The full title of the German institute Spoonley refers to is: the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Religious and Ethnic Diversity. Spoonley is a senior visiting fellow at the institute.
Is Merkel getting the migration concepts from Spoonley?
So when the UN migration Pact starts to flow, then the word “superdiversity” will have to be updated.

  3. Some people complain about anything:

Mighty Ape isn’t restricting who it sells alcohol-free beer to, and some observers say that’s socially irresponsible.

Mark Fidler, a wine industry worker from Tauranga…

Fidler said he found the sale of the alcohol-free beer concerning and “anyone of any age with access to the internet can jump on their website and order it”.

Chief marketing officer at Mighty Ape Gracie MacKinlay said there were no licensing issues around zero alcohol beer, and Asahi Dry Zero was a no-alcohol beverage.

Alcohol Watch executive director Dr Nicki Jackson said the main issue was the branding of non-alcoholic beer and other similar drinks to look like alcoholic products.

“They look identical, and we’ve been very concerned for a long time that although these are a positive shift towards lowering our drinking culture they do increase the branding of alcohol to young people.”

“So we would be concerned if these were marketed to young people or even if young people were exposed to this alcohol branding.

“Mighty Ape would be publicly available. For any other website you would have to enter your date of birth before entering the site. That’s the law if you’re selling alcohol and these things look like alcohol,” Jackson said.

So, selling a non-alcoholic product is a problem? I personally wouldn’t buy it but so what? Mighty Ape is not selling alcohol to minors. It seems a like a non-story to me except for some whiners complaining for some bizarre and illogical reason.

    • There was, a few years ago, a bit of a loophole. Anybody selling liquor online that has a brick store has to check your age. If you don’t have a brick store you are golden, can sell to Little Jimmy buying with his moms credit card and having it home delivered. It may have been changed by now.

  4. Obese patients stuck in hospital because nowhere suitable for discharge
    https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/national/393841/obese-patients-stuck-in-hospital-because-nowhere-suitable-for-discharge
“Four severely overweight patients have been stuck at Middlemore Hospital for months because there is nowhere suitable for them to be discharged to.
The DHB’s chair Mark Gosche said the cases were a symptom of the severe pressure Middlemore is under from an obesity crisis.
There were 36,000 morbidly obese people in its community – more than double the number of any other DHB.
Diabetes specialist Robyn Toomath said it was tragic for those involved.
Obesity is very heavily stigmatised and this surely must be a profoundly stigmatising experience for these people”.

The diversity dividend paying handsomely in South Auckland with parts of the health system effectively grinding to a halt due to an epidemic of fat blobs from the Islands clogging up beds.
However it’s not their fault of course that they have stuffed so many mutton flaps and tins of corn beef in their useless gobs that they can no longer walk, they are suffering from stigma which is holding them back apparently.
Bullshit,if you had any inch of self respect you would not be like this in the first place so shame is not on their radar I’m afraid.
Remind me again how much the Pasifica community “enrich” NZ.

    https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/national/393852/worried-scared-and-frustrated-south-auckland-dealing-with-string-of-shootings
“A South Auckland leader says residents are fed up with gun violence in the area and want more police patrolling their streets”.

  9. Cash-strapped parents stressed about providing food – report
    https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/national/393838/cash-strapped-parents-stressed-about-providing-food-report
“One in five children are living in households where putting food on the table is a struggle, according to a new report from the Ministry of Health.
Children in food-insecure households had poorer health and nutrition, higher rates of being overweight or obesity, as well as behavioural or developmental difficulties.
Massey University lecturer Rebekah Graham said a lack of money leaves some families opting for cheaper, starchy food, over fresh meat and vegetables”.

You hear this argument so often that obesity and poor nutrition is a result of poverty it is mind numbing.
All you have to do is go to any dairy or fast food outlet near a school in a so called “deprived” area and watch what all the kids buy.
Pies, doughnuts, chips, soft drink, energy drinks, chocolate and more all at dairy prices which are hugely inflated.
If their parents gave a single fuck they could have gone to a supermarket and bought twice as much good food for the same price as all the crap from the dairy but hey lets not blame the parents as they are just victims of exploitative behaviour from unscrupulous retailers right!.

It’s all about taking the time to cook meals from scratch and not send the kids down to collect the local fast food. Don’t try to sell me the propaganda that it is cheaper for families to buy crap food than make it themselves. It’s just easier and a lack of motivation.

“A study has been commissioned to examine the mental health needs of Pacific Islanders forced to leave their homes by the climate crisis.
Auckland University’s Jemaima Tiatia-Seath, co-head of the School of Māori and Pacific Studies, has been granted about $US400,000 for the three year study from the Health Research Council of New Zealand”.

The New Zealand Transport Agency has announced that a new pedestrian and cycle underpass will not be constructed as part of the Baypark to Bayfair Link project (Bay Link).

NZ Transport Agency senior project delivery manager Andrew Thackwray said evidence gathered as part of the detailed design process has confirmed the construction of an underpass would be highly complex.

That is only 100 trips a day
There are 14 bus trips a day, so that is 7 people on each bus.

Admittedly that is more than I see around Greerton during the week, which by my obstructed viewing due to military strength tinted glass is about 3 people, one of which is the driver.

    • Good on Graeme Edgeler for not letting the smarmy wanker away with it.

Yet why do we need any name suppression? If the USA can administer justice without it then why can’t a tinpot country at the arse end of the world do the same?

      • How bizarre that they repeatedly open their mouths on subjects that they are ignorant of.

“I am not aware of the reasons for the suppression order this case, nor would it be appropriate for me to know. Any breach of a suppression order undermines justice for victims and offenders.

It must have been funny when they thought that they had found a phoenix from Harry Potter.

    • “As part of its response to the complaint, Stuff said Mr Haumaha had acted inappropriately during an interview by allegedly saying to the reporter, who is Māori, “I would expect the support of some of our Māori journalists”.

How many chances does Haumaha get?

      • Haumaha claims to be Maori but he doesn’t display much knowledge of what makes them tick.

Being “Maori” is a recent construct hammered together to advance Treaty claims against the Pakeha. Real Tangata Whenua are tribal & no interviewer is going to give a representative of a rival Iwi the time of day.

      • The “religious loons of Israel” are like religious loons everywhere……stark raving mad……just like those of Saudi Arabia & Iran. They’re peas in a pod.

The major difference is that the Mullahs of Iran have let their irrational hatred of the US (the Great Satan) to blind themselves to reality & the wishes/needs of the people they repress.

We rightly ridicule our idiot PM for openly showing her contempt for Trump & the US. What the fuck is different when the theocratic rulers of Iran do the same?

And I have never really thought about the attraction dynamics of lesbians or anyone else for that matter, now that I have thought about it lol.

    • So easy for pre-election promises when you don’t think you have a snowballs chance in hell of being elected. Without Winston Peters Labour would have been tucked up in the opposition office suite with Cindy stretching her talents to making scones for morning tea. Now people are starting to hold them to account. What to do now?!

    • Unicorns are vicious animals, with teeth that bite, hoofs to kick and trample, and a horn to stab you.

A llama is proportionately a much smaller animal, no teeth on the top plate. More likely just to spit. 🙂
