    The Australian state of New South Wales reported 1542 new local coronavirus cases and nine deaths on Friday, as Premier Gladys Berejiklian announced she would no longer be doing daily press conferences.

  15. I watched an interesting film last night on Netflix. “Mr Jones” is about the Welsh journalist Gareth Jones who travelled to the Soviet Union in 1933 and exposed the Holodomor. It also features the man who is perhaps the founding father of fake news, journalist Walter Duranty, who won a Pulitzer prize for his lies and fake news about Stalin and the glorious Soviet revolution.

    • Business has always had periods of financial ‘hurt’. Ask IRD how many start ups fail in their first years. Shut down and the staff found a new job or went to see Winz about going on the unemployment bene. The government was never there to pick up the pieces of any failed enterprises, no financial handouts for unforeseen or unexpected circumstances beyond the control of the individuals running those businesses. Now every night there are squeals to the msm about the latest suffering and Robbo announcing how many million of taxpayer funding will be passed over to industries and individuals attempting to keep their employees on board and their businesses afloat. The issue is that every aspect of our society – our social and family relationships, our businesses, our ability to earn a living – is literally under attack by a totalitarian power clique which has siezed control of our country.

        This is unprecedented. It’s not just a bit unusual, it’s literally unprecedented. Never before have New Zealanders been subjected to living under what is nothing less than a totalitarian Stalinist regime.

      Is that one shot or two?
      Does “vaccinated” mean “fully vaccinated”?

      Alternatively, many people died WITH Covid-19 rather than OF Covid-19. For example, we vaccinate all the elderly and the ill. Let’s say 80% of these vulnerable people are vaccinated. After a while, a proportion have died (and woud have died in the flu season of any ordinary year). The vaccine might have helped knock back the coronavirus, but these people will killed by other complications. In the analysis, we find that 80% of the people who died (with COVID) had been vaccinated.
      It’s not that the vaccine killed them; rather, the vaccine wasn’t effective against the cause of death.

    A staff member at Auckland’s Holiday Inn quarantine facility has tested positive for Covid-19.

    The Herald understands there are 19 workers who have been considered as close contacts.

    The Holiday Inn is one of many MIQ facilities located in Auckland.

    A Ministry of Health spokesman said the Holiday Inn quarantine worker tested positive last Monday following routine testing.

    Their positive case was included in Tuesday’s Covid-19 update.

    “An investigation to determine the source of the worker’s infection is under way,” the spokesman said.

    “At this stage, public health officials investigating the case have not identified any clear evidence of in-facility transmission.

  47. Wife & I out for a walk, saw another couple approaching us. About 10 metres away they put on their masks so they wouldn’t catch covid from the unmasked oldies – the horror! Once safely past us, they took the masks off. Idiots.

    Also saw kids riding bikes with masks on. Forcing kids to wear masks outdoors in the fresh air is child abuse.

      • You have a point, as I almost lose track what level we may be, and really with all the others masked up, I almost thought I was on the wrong day of being in level 2 or was it level 3, and no real difference.
        After all, every day is a Sunday.

        Then maybe I have just been where I had to be masked up, and going to drive a short distance to the next place that requires masking, is a hassle of mask on, mask off, so leave it on.

        I take a perverse joy in my mask, as only my eyes can be seen.
        I comment if others want confirmation of who I am, that “I am looking for a bank to rob”.
        Often as not give those karens an intense stare, roll eye balls and stare again, of course all kindly done. .. 🙂
