With the dumbing down of education that gave us a Bachelor of Women’s Studies & degrees in theology it had to happen sooner or later. Expect doctorates in electric fencing & masters of manure spreading in the near future.

Colour me surprised the IWI want to demolish The Chateau.

Vandals.

And DOC will go along with this and agree, betcha.

The Chateau requires a ton of money to bring it back up to standard. Do tourists want to stay in such a 1950s-styled building? (Some will.) Could the Chateau in its present form be commercially viable?
Do the iwi just want a vacant lot and the opportunity to clip parking tickets?

I personally know a Gentleman who is willing to throw $100 Million (and has the cash to do so) at the Chateau to restore it and bring it up to a 5 Star Hotel. This is his business and offering Heritage Hotel Accommodation has been something he has worked at for many years in this country.

This Gentleman, has been in negotiation with Potaka and DOC for ages, has a signed letter from all the concerned IWI that he has their Agreement to Lease it for 100 years, pay the IWI their Lease Agreement Funds in advance, but despite all this it is DOC and Potaka who are the stumbling block.

You should hear the opinion of the Ruapehu District Council Mayor, Weston Kirton on the matter who has worked very hard on getting the Chateau back into action, he just pulls his hair out dealing with DOC and Potaka, but is too polite to say so publicaly.

FS what is it about the nazis in NZ and helicopters. These guys only took the legal limit, but didn’t have a commercial license, and they lose 2 choppers worth $1M each. Meanwhile the usual suspects are raping and pillaging over quota and undersize and get slap on hand.

The Helicopter Line ordered to forfeit two $1m helicopters over crayfish offending – NZ Herald
If you want a really good read, I recommend Mark Law – Lucky You’re Tough. I’m halfway through. He got into trouble over the White Island cluster.

i listened to a podcast he done with between two beers. unreal what the fuckers put him through.

heres the white island part, fucking nazi cunts https://youtu.be/O-EyN16vqHc?si=gogT-k_ruGByHFdG

but yeah the crayfish guys shouldve known better but losing the 2 choppers is very OTT.
if it was hemi and his mates opperating a black market ring taking thousands of undersized all they wouldve lost would be a crusty old hi ace van and some swimming goggles. hardly a fine cuz hemi couldnt pay it.

The issue is that people were paying to have someone catch them crayfish. That’s seemed commercial and not recreational. Can you imagine the overseas revenue from tourists for having something like this as a day trip?
Great for the economy and great for the tourists memories.
It would be great to have had a special quota just for situations like this, but I don’t think there is any commercial fishing in a big chunk of the fjords and someone would object anyway.

I’d be interested to understand the definition of catching. Could the diver, have, for example, caught the crayfish and released them into a netted-off area of the water, then had the tourists “catch” them from there?

When is a crayfish officially “caught”, in this instance?

Presumably even in this situation, the tourists still wouldn’t be able to sell their catch.

once its landed its deemed caught i think, be some grey areas tho as i guess theres a bit of leeway to measure etc and return undersized/excess.

all they needed to do was purchase/lease a small quota allocation. although they would then probably have to do so outside of the fiords where the sea is a bit more temperamental to allow shore gathering.

i bet theres a few charter boats shitting pants and deleting content, unless as ive seen plenty on youtube with paying customers doing pretty much the same thing.

Well I hope the Dutch and the EU don’t want to ask New Zealand for help to say their sorry, ungrateful arses when WW3 erupts. They can fuck right off and I hope the Government finds some Balls pronto and tells both the Dutch and EU where to stick their meddling.

The usual New Zealand meddling traitors:—-

…. New Zealand organisations cannot themselves file a complaint, but a number of groups and individuals have added their support as co-sponsors,
including Greenpeace, Ngāti Pukenga, Ora Taiao, Environmental Law Initiative, Mike Smith and Professor Jane Kelsey. …..

…… Most recently, the [NZ] Greens wrote to the European Commissioner responsible for trade and economic security, asking the EU to assess whether New Zealand was failing its obligations …..

…… the deal was struck in 2022, then Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern described it as containing “ground-breaking commitments on environment, labour rights and gender equality as foundational parts of a trade and sustainable development chapter”.

In so many ways our Parliamentary representatives are fabians, “eh comrade” have sold our sovereignty away & deviously, in many forms of “mission creep” whether with John Key & UNDRIP that brings on compliance in the actions to be complied with, in the He Puapua report.

Winston Peters saying it was not binding, still sold out NZ with signing up to the UN Global Migration Pact, that is being reframed to be complied with in an India trade deal, along with further UNDRIP compliance..

Also the set up of to send NZ military; is that NZ already holds a formal partner status NATO.
https://www.nato.int/en/what-we-do/partnerships-and-cooperation/relations-with-new-zealand

All set up to ride rough shod over New Zealand citizens to bring about their compliance.

I’ll bet the environmental group is funded by people wanting to reduce competition from NZ products.

If any consequences arise, the answer is simple – hit them with massive tariffs and set up expensive inspection (for them), regimes on their food products to “reduce risks to our agricultural and horticultural sectors.”

President Trump unveiled America.gov at the Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium on Tuesday — an AI-powered front door to the federal government. Breitbart reports it features a search bar that points users straight to the service they need.
Trump described the old system in blunt terms: “𝘐𝘯𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘢𝘥 𝘰𝘧 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘤𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘤𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘻𝘦𝘯𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘤𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘮𝘢𝘻𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘴𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘳𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘨𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘸𝘦𝘣𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘳𝘶𝘭𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘵𝘦𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘴𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘴… 𝘺𝘰𝘶’𝘭𝘭 𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘵 𝘥𝘰𝘰𝘳 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘭𝘦 𝘲𝘶𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯.”
U.S. Chief Design Officer Joe Gebbia, the Airbnb co-founder behind TrumpRx.gov and TrumpAccounts.gov, put it in numbers: “29,000 𝘸𝘦𝘣𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘰𝘯𝘦.” He said the site will handle everything from 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐧𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 to checking student loans and changing your address with the Postal Service.
Then came the part every married couple will feel. Today the AI walks you through the steps to change your name across agencies. In 2027, Gebbia said, you’ll be able to 𝐮𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐚𝐝 𝐚 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞, 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐧𝐚𝐦𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐚𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐬. As he put it, “𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘸𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘦𝘯 𝘸𝘦𝘦𝘬𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦, 𝘮𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘪𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘧𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴, 𝘤𝘶𝘵𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘤𝘳𝘰𝘴𝘴 𝘥𝘪𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘴’ 𝘸𝘦𝘣𝘴𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘴.”
Trump closed by signing an executive order directing 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐟𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜-𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐝𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚.𝐠𝐨𝐯 as soon as possible. His goal, he said: anything you need from the government “𝘢𝘤𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘢𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘱𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘤𝘬𝘭𝘺 𝘢𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘥.” That’s your time and your tax dollars, finally treated like they matter.
𝐖𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐨𝐧 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐬 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐳𝐞. 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐦𝐩 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐭

We would become like Singapore which although technically a right wing democracy is about the most totalitarian society tolerated by any people anywhere outside of the PRC. Since 1959 the People’s Action Party has consistently securing a supermajority of seats and formed the government in every successive general election.

NatLab would straddle whatever is left of the political divide. They would prove impossible to oust via the polling booth.
