    • It’s all relative. If priorities are on a numerical scale, for example, 1 is lowest priority and 10 is highest priority, 0 is still a priority.

  2. Shame on those guys that handed in their guns.
Were there any criminal looking types? or wre they all nice old white guys?

    • Well their details were recorded so they’ve now gone on the alt-right, hate-speech, white supremacist list for further persecution.

I’d bet that now that socialist Cindy’s Stazi police know where they live, they’ll be subject of raids to make sure that they haven’t held any weapons over. So, they’ll be paying for their naivete.

    • Smart guys. Had the taxpayer refund their money on the sporting goods they no longer wanted. One guy got back 13k which he was never going to get anywhere else. Buy a nice holiday with that.
Wrong wrong and wrong, because if it was about making NZ a safer place they would have handed them in for nothing.
      Bet they vote labour.

    • If there was a Hell then the two faced hypocrite should rot in it. John Banks was the religious arsehole who used his radio show to preach against abortion. The Holier than thou prick, like the rest of them, knew best.

Until it was revealed that he tried to get the mother of his son to abort the foetus & even obtained the drugs for her to use. Then it took a hearing in the High Court for him to acknowledge his son.

I have little truck for any religionists but John Banks could walk under a snake’s belly on stilts!

    • Yes an interesting irony that Banks went to Russia to adopt what ended up as three kids and all along he had one he would not – and still has not- acknowledge.
He allowed another guy to unwittingly pay child support for his own kid. The other guy paid for 15 years.

The police went bad while he was Police Minister in the 1990s.
The anti-good citizen stance we see today they have today fermented during that time and has reached maturity.
As Police Minister he illegally used his cellphone on a commercial aircraft.

Banks talks crap about poverty growing up but he did alright.
His father was a crook and wee John made good money going around collecting empties from the sly grog houses which were prevalent when legitimate pubs closed at 6 pm prior to 1968.

He knew where the grog houses were because his crime family was involved. He even handled the machine gun used in the Bassett Road machine gun double murders (1963) because it was taken to his (father’s) house.
      http://www.stuff.co.nz/national/crime/9477150/Bassett-Road-Mixed-memories

He is a really weird guy if you meet him in person.
He used to park his fancy car (Ferrari I think it was) on Queen St in front of the Town Hall when Auckland City Council Mayor 2001-04 then get staff to cancel the parking tickets. He used to rant a bit that it was his right and he did not want to drive inside to his allocated car park.

In 2010 he stood for Mayor of the newly spewed out Akl Super Shitty but did not really campaign.
His adopted son was the one who egged on the young James Webster (16) to drink alcohol excessively to the point of death.
      http://www.stuff.co.nz/auckland/4909083/Plea-to-parents-after-Kings-boys-booze-death
He was involved with that event in 2010 re his adopted son and did not try hard for the mayoralty and Asian Invasion rooter Brown got in.
He may have been better to have withdrawn and let someone else who could focus have a crack.
He was virtually invisible during that campaign.

We see with his not acknowledging his biological son that despite his sanctimonious hand rubbing he is a master hypocrite. All his crocodile tears in parliament about how he grew up without a father and how tough that was shows he really is a Tusitala.

Banks tells us he believes the Bible literally and that the world was created in 6 days.
Who knows with him what is really true?

He and Don Brash were directors of Huljich Wealth Management where there was crooked goings on:-
“Huljich Wealth Management was set up in 2007 by Peter Huljich, Act MP Banks and former National Party and former ACT leader Brash.
In 2010, Huljich stepped down as managing director amid mounting criticism he had topped up funds from his personal resources in a way that artificially boosted their performance figures.”

In other words, Peter H. put outside capital in and pretended it was income based on good investment management and therefore performance was overstated.
      Peter Huljich took the fall.
Banks and Brash should have gone before the Court as Directors of the company but their political connections got them off.
Next these two went on to the ACT party and Banks stood for a classic liberal Party when his own long term political stance is the opposite of what ACT stood for.

Banks had a helicopter ride to the Dotcom house but, oh yea, he forgot about that. Wait, nah, can’t remember.
Banks did his best Christine Crazy Ford child voice with:
      “Oh I don’t remember that… I don’t recall… I can’t recall whether I did or not”

I cant find the audio but Banks was lying through his teeth.
But remember this: John Banks ‘did not come up the river on a cabbage boat’.

You may dislike Kim Dotcom but Banks was telling porkies up the wazoo including about the mayoral campaign donation and the money for the New Year fireworks display and not meeting Dotcom.
Photographic evidence proved him a liar.

Banks actions, omissions, and misdirection here meant he should never hold public office again.

      Executive Summary.
-John A. Banks is the son of convicted criminals.
-John Banks is a bible basher today who earned money while at school collecting the empty beer bottles from illegal grog houses and cashing them in. He knew where they were because his father was in the ‘business’.
-John Banks has a son as declared by a NZ court but has refused to acknowledge this. ergo- John Banks does not honour the process of law and the Court system.
-John Banks gets terrible amnesia when asked difficult questions and breaks into little boy voice of :- I don’t recall. I don’t remember..
-John Banks has ethics that makes a sewer rat look like a fine upstanding citizen.
-If you ever think John A. Banks is the answer you had better rephrase the question.
-Last, but not least, John Banks did not come up the river on a cabbage boat.

At one stage though, rural, semi rural school, still have lambs at pets day, red bands of all things were de rigeur, 50$ I think they were according to the daughter in law, he is ten so out of the problematic range, I prefer crocs to gumboots ever since I stood on a paper wasp in my gumboot. The 6 is nearly there and the nearly three started well….some days I think that it is just a wind up.

  3. I envy Australia their PM

I’m liking Australian PM Scott Morrison more and more, it’s almost like he wants to be a centre-right leader. I think he’s understood that it was the shy ‘tories that helped him pull off the impossible election victory this year and he wants to keep them onside.

Latest. He’s said “Nah! Fuck off” to any attempts to enshrine an Aboriginal “voice to Parliament” (whatever the fuck that load of progressive gobshite is) constitutionally. Once again, I’m betting Labour Lite National will be looking as hard as they can in the other direction on this vote-winning call by PM Morrison.

It’s been so long, I’d forgotten what a true leader looks like (I bet he’d never put a rag on his head and pulled a long mule-face for the cameras like our donkey PM does).

  4. More Disgruntled Workers and Employers Seek Mediation to Solve Disputes
    https://www.stuff.co.nz/business/114080054/more-disgruntled-workers-and-employers-seek-mediation-to-solve-disputes

“More workers and bosses are seeking help for employment problems and there is a push to make dispute resolution easier to get.

Long waits for mediation and the unregulated nature of the employment disputes industry are also fuelling calls for change.”

More mediation, not less under the COL’s workplace industrial relations. What happened to all that union compatability with business Cindy?

  5. The good and bad about our political week.
Quote of the week,Judith Collins ‘just stop beating up our kid’s.’
Stupidity at it’s best, Julie Anne Genter, ‘declares climate change is our generations World War Two.’
Lie of the week Winston couldn’t help himself with two, ‘ we don’t get any credit for lowing the overseas dollar’ and I haven’t raised concerns with Marise Payne about the deportation of NZer’s from Australia despite there Foriegn Minister saying We have know intention of changing our stance on NZer’s who commit crimes being deported.
Then the honesty of our PM is all people want to know is what Airline you used to fly on Holiday with and who pays the bill.
Last in line is Tamati Coffy and the baby is it in NZ best interest for our state TV to produce a program on two Homosexuals and their new baby, I personally would love to see a poll on it to see what Values our Country holds.

  7. Kiwis suffering depression, anxiety and hopelessness because of climate change
    https://www.stuff.co.nz/environment/climate-news/113973585/kiwis-suffering-depression-anxiety-and-hopelessness-because-of-climate-change
“Sandy Millar runs a climate-conscious “lens” over all of her decisions.
The Auckland woman doesn’t want to put more carbon into the air so rather than driving to the beach and going for a walk there, she tries to walk in her own neighbourhood. She restricts her purchasing, considers “food miles” and tries to buy second-hand.
“I watch a lot of people on Facebook who are going overseas and think that it would be really nice to experience India or the UK. But I’m uncomfortable doing that in the current climate,” she says.
Millar feels shunning of consumerism has lead to being isolated from her community and admits to feeling lonely.
She finds comfort in having climate conversations with her adult children who hold similar views, but was surprised to find they were considering not having children because they “don’t want to bring them into this world”.
At this point, Millar has not worked out how to resolve her climate anxiety.
“I still feel weighed down by the climate crisis.”

Normally I offer some commentary on the article but in this case even I’m lost for words so you can make up your own mind about some of the basket cases out there.

        • The continued rapid cooling of the earth since WWII is in accord with the increase in global air pollution associated with industrialization, mechanization, urbanization and exploding population.

          — Reid Bryson, “Global Ecology; Readings towards a rational strategy for Man”, (1971)

There are ominous signs that the earth’s weather patterns have begun to change dramatically and that these changes may portend a drastic decline in food production—with serious political implications for just about every nation on earth. The drop in food production could begin quite soon… The evidence in support of these predictions has now begun to accumulate so massively that meteorologist are hard-pressed to keep up with it… This [cooling] trend will reduce agricultural productivity for the rest of the century.

          — Science writer Peter Gwynne writing in ‘The Cooling World,’ ‘Newsweek’ magazine, April 28, 1975

At the present rate of nitrogen buildup, it’s only a matter of time before light will be filtered out of the atmosphere and none of our land will be usable… If present trends continue, the world will be about four degrees colder for the global mean temperature in 1990, but eleven degrees colder by the year 2000. … This is about twice what it would take to put us in an ice age.

          — Kenneth E.F. Watt on air pollution and global cooling, speaking on Earth Day 1970

      • Also Ed add that to the increasing numbers suffering from GID (Gender Identity Disorder) through the liberal education system there are more dark clouds forming. While noting the recent headline from a recent study: “Queer people are twice as likely to commit suicide.” It might be well time to include sexual orientation in the recorded stats. Meanwhile the MOH seem less that concerned after their comment on the recent release of suicide stats that only reach 2016. Their callousness is well displayed when the say: “The Ministry of Health says overall the rate of suicides remained relatively stable in this 10-year period.” That is 500 plus which are no doubt averaged out for their purpose to be a “stable” figure. Thank goodness for some stability somewhere in their system.

  9. The left have corrupted our language. Being liberal is about individual freedom and responsibility; economic, social and political. They stole that term to help hide their authoritarian, Marxist approach and the right conservatives, a different type of authoritarian, are aiding and abetting in that.

        1) Since when can the “placebo effect” be ignored? If a chronically ill person believes he/she is getting relief why does it matter?

        2) Doctors are hostage to drug manufacturers & the latter can’t extend patent rights over a herb that grows naturally. It wouldn’t matter if smoking cannabis cured coughs, colds, sores, moles & pimples on the dicky. If it can’t make money for Big Pharma they’re anti.

It should be remembered that at the time Maori spoke Te Reo yet as parents they realised that the future for their kids lay in speaking/writing English & it was they who were pushing the policy. In practise it was English in class & Maori in the playground or when the teacher was out of earshot. By the time we left the East Coast I could make myself understood in Maori.

The stories of kids being belted for speaking Maori are the stuff of sickly white liberals. Kids of the day were strapped & caned for everything.

The New Zealand of then was a reasonable, civil place. But Jacinda Ardern and her cronies are doing their best to destroy it. And with support from a large swathe of the population, and the rest mostly too scared of Ardern’s retribution to speak up against her control.

What is left? Fight back, take up arms and get rid of this corrupt government? Is it because of leaders like Ardern that militants are made? Flee to a country that still makes sense? Or stay and hope that after it has crashed there is still a chance to rebuild?

It is not cheap overwintering chickens etc people should pay more at markets.

    • I’ve bought free range for ages off a friend with chickens. I’m just waiting for those who campaigned against cheaply produced eggs to complain about the cost of eggs now free range are going to be the only ones available in the supermarket, that there are fewer eggs produced at a higher cost and therefore the cost will be more expensive.

  14. Q. What’s the difference between a Lesbian in a porno and a real life one?

    A. About 12 stone.

      • Good point Ed. After thirty years out in the sticks on a sheep & beef unit it could be said that I’d lived a fairly sheltered life.

Retirement has been an eye opener. Next week we’re heading down to Whangarei & we’re going to have a look at one of those “sex shop” places! 🙂

        • Nasska what has happened to you?
Has someone re-written the words to Old MacDonald had a sheep and beef unit?
Or Ches’n’Dale: We are the boys from down on the sheep and beef unit?
You’ve let the bastards get to you.

  15. Yup, I am only concerned about gender when I want to fuck it. Seeing I am currently not allowed to fuck anything, gender or the lack thereof does not concern me.

    • ……”Seeing I am currently not allowed to fuck anything”……

A few shots of penicillin & you’ll be as good as new! 🙂

      • In that case, the fucking anything might have been the problem in the first instance. More than one cow cocky has put mastitis penicillin down a urethra, some men have put a nail.

  16. Please debate this statement> “Acting Canterbury District Commander Mike Johnson called the event a “great success” and thanked the gun owners for their support.”
I’d suggest the lack of turnout indicates that they are not going to get too many more….

    • Police have been given a hospital pass from SLG and her mates at Great Ideas R Us.
They’ve been tasked with collecting guns from law-abiding citizens, knowing full well it is a very unpopular decision among gun owners, and there will be considerable resistance.
They also know the chances of prising guns from people who should never have had them in the first place is zippo.
While I wouldn’t exonerate them completely from this mess, what would we have Police do? – tell the pollies to naff orf with their daft laws? That would be a whole other problem.
So Mike Johnson declares the day a jolly old success with lashings of ginger beer. Poor sod.

      • The police were largely responsible for advising on the drawing up the new laws with input, no doubt, from that reprehensible anti gun zealot Cahill of the Police Association and those two mad hags from Otago Uni. One thing the government did not do was ask people who actually know about firearms and what works and doesn’t work legislation wise.

    • I would not say that it was a “good turnout” for Ardern and our pussy police.
But I was encouraged by the low turnout!

  17. I’ve always believed the Black Caps play better when they have a target to chase.
Their decision to bat dented my confidence, but all power to the boys.
