    The Queen has reportedly cancelled the royal family Christmas party.

    The news comes as the UK responds to the Omicron variant. The country has introduced new restrictions in response to record numbers of new Covid-19 cases.

    Prior to the new variant drastically increasing Covid-19 case numbers, the Queen was looking forward to hosting a regular Christmas after the pandemic disrupted celebrations.

    But The Sun reports the Queen is scaling back plans “with regret”.

    The monarch was due to dine with the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall, plus approximately 50 members of the royal family at Windsor Castle. The occasion also marks her first Christmas without her husband Prince Philip.

    The outlet reports the palace feels it is “the right thing to do” in response to the new variant.

    • Viking, I also put the blame a lot on the individual Judge and the Judiciary. In this case the Dudge states, an earlier case is a precedent, but prey tell me how was this case any where near exactly the same as the earlier case referred to by the Dudge.
      Each case should be argued on that cases merits and sentence passed accordingly, not on what a previous sentence may have been. No example of violence like this is exactly the same as a previous one and as such, a previous cases sentence should not be used as a basis.
      When I look back at earlier Magistrates like Stewart Hardy, he took no shit from the likes of today’s Comancheros or even drunk drivers (who often ended up behind bars) and threw the book at them for this type of behaviour. Now Judges have to compare everything and everything has to be equal, even though the circumstances leading up to the Court case were not equal to anything before and in many cases should and can not be compared.

Deeper in the human lung, it functions far less efficiently than Delta or the first strains from Wuhan. This is probably why it causes mostly mild illness, and it is reminiscent of techniques used to make live attenuated influenza vaccines safer for use in humans. Such vaccines are cold-adapted, that is, selected to circulate primarily in the cooler upper respiratory tract rather than in the warmer, more vulnerable lungs.

  39. I hear the NZ MOH have put out another “memo” / warning about myocarditis and the jab. I realise it is a rear end covering exercise but can some one explain the logic, if there is any, to it.
    I go to my doctor and discuss getting the jab because I have an on going heart issue. The doctor ( I am assuming is ethical and honest) says yes your condition would make you susceptible. I say then please give an exemption but the doctor says they are not allowed to and it is very difficult to get one through the process, as it is set out.
    So Bloomfield and MOH are just hypocrites of the highest order, putting out the 2 warnings, because doctors are not allowed to do anything about it.

      That 1 in a million chance elsewhere reduced down through the 100’s of thousands, then down through tens of thousands and last I heard, 1 in 5000 for injury.

      Got halfway around the isles after enduring some weird stares and mutterings. A security guard came looking for me. Someone had complained about me not wearing a mask.     A criminal complaint has been made and accepted by The Metropolitan Police, significant and irrefutable evidence has been verbalised and presented.

    As a result of this a crime reference number has been issued for Misconduct In Public Office.

    At this moment in time we have been asked not to disclose the crime reference number until a designated officer and department have been allocated to deal.

    Of paramount importance and as a matter of public safety we as a collective have demanded the vaccine rollout is stopped immediately and suggested an address to the nation is made by The Metropolitan Police to advise accordingly.

    A number of government departments and in particular individuals in public office and government have been named as offenders and we have it all in terms of supporting evidence.

    We spent six hours with the police who were excellent especially at Hammersmith Police station. The whole 6 hours was recorded but this recording will not be released to avoid prejudicing the investigation.

    As soon as an update is available it will be made public. Please bear in mind this is now a live criminal investigation and we have to wait for further contact from the Metropolitan Police.

    We made it clear and it was accepted by the police that all Doctors, nurses and care workers are being blackmailed to take the vaccine or lose their jobs.

      The doctrine of in loco parentis will be tested again, and already we know how much that has been pushed into. as it uses “takes a village” so it is the systemic educational institutions that will call the shots under the cover of the community needs this. As if everybody owns the kids.

Meanwhile they can go to the mall, play bull rush, fight in the corridors, push and shove on the way to the assembly hall, do kapahka, screw one another in the bushes and so on.

    As some will know, I live in a rural area and yesterday had occasion to go to both a nearby small town and the local city on business, as a result of which I had time to waste while waiting for work to be done by local companies in both locations

    I decided to go for a tiki-tour around the CBD’s in both places to fill in time, and to see how many businesses would, according to their signage outside, let me enter ‘unjabbed’

    The results were interesting:

    Not unexpectedly, most cafe’s and restaurants demanded a Vaxx Pass before I would be considered worthy of entry, with the most unusual ones also demanding same being hairdressers (Both Male and Female). While appreciating the ‘need for care’, I cannot see how they can sustain their clientele.

    While the wearing of masks in public places was not common, they were however mandatory in most establishments, although the level of ‘monitoring’ by the ‘Gate Guardians’ at such places was, at best, ‘patchy’, and seemed to depend on the ages / youth of said guardians. Some were more ‘zealous’ than others!!

    It was an interesting exercise, and seemed to indicate that although ‘masks’ are now considered ‘acceptable’ , the Vaxx Passport is still not widely endorsed, and then, only by ‘establishments’ which seem determined to put themselves out of business.

      No great answer out of this, as the vaxxed can spread the disease, a future variant which is then worse for the Unvaxxed.

    As I warned If you thought we were in for a nice summer holiday – think again.
    The COVID-19 Public Health Response (Vaccinations) Order 2021 passed its 2nd reading Wednesday night in NZ. (it was passed early in the morning)
    ZERO rights for an unvaccinated person. Read this again!!
    This legislation will allow for:
    1. The lockdown of unvaccinated or insufficiently vaccinated individuals.
    2. The ability to restrict travel within the country to unvaccinated or insufficiently vaccinated (e.g. a person who does not want to get a booster shot).
    3. Withhold certification from those who do not get required boosters or subsequent combinations of vaccines as may be ordered at any time.
    4. The ability to dictate the type and form of certification required for proof of vaccination status — digital or otherwise.
    5. The ability to dictate what other information may be required for the renewal of vaccine certificates, and which information may be contained on such a certificate.
    6. The period for which a vaccine certificate is valid can be changed at any time, and who it is that may be entitled or eligible to have these certificates.
    7. The specification of mandates for entire job sectors.
    8. The ordering of certain jobs to require regular mandatory testing and medical examination.
    9. Enforcement officers to be able to demand certification, pretty much at any time.
    10. The appointment of enforcement officers that can be anybody they wish to appoint, and not necessarily police.
    11. Enforcement officers to inspect and take copies of certification to be verified at a later date, before immediately returning such documentation.
    12. The provision of an assessment tool for employers to use to determine who should be vaccine mandated, however employers can totally disregard the assessment tool and mandate at whim.
    13. Legal or other representatives of employees may be refused entry to workplaces.
    14. Contact tracing information may be used against a person in order to enforce the Act.
    15. Employees who have been dismissed for non-compliance of testing or vaccination, but comply at the last minute, may still be dismissed if the employer deems revoking the dismissal to be disruptive of their business

    There is another dairy auction tomorrow morning, and the derivatives market is suggesting prices are due to rise +3.2% for WMP and +2.7% for SMP. Given the NZD has fallen -1% since the last auction, there is a good floor forming under the farmgate milk price payout forecasts. Westpac’s $9/kgMS is looking a safer bet.

    • Wait untill march 2023, the dairy farmers will be balls to the wall again.
      Dairy payouts run in a very volatile cycle, 2 maybe 3 years tops at a good payout followed by several years of pain.

      In all honesty tho the payout should be in the $12-14 range to keep pace with inflation and compliance costs, price takers only ever take it up the arse and get shafted 24/7.

  63. I woke up the other day with the feeling that it was more than a little possible that the pandemic is finally over, nearly so anyway.

    The stock market was certainly indicating as much, the Dow up big for the second time in a row.

    The reasoning wasn’t complicated even for this layman. The traditional course of viruses is to keep mutating to survive, but as they mutate, the new variants tend to be weaker.

    This appears to be the case with the CCP virus. New variant Omicron, though highly transmissible, is apparently relatively harmless—no deaths and hardly any hospitalizations in the 30 or so countries that have reported cases thus far. It even shares genetic material with that other somewhat benign coronavirus, the common cold.

    Of course, things could change; a more dangerous variant could come along, or Omicron could morph in some unforeseen manner, but if I’m correct, we’re witnessing the beginning of the end of an era when politics overwhelmed science to a degree that it practically destroyed our country and the world.

    What a relief. What a Happy New Year this could be. Let’s sing that great song from World War I, “When This Bloody War Is Over.” We all feel as if we’ve been through it.

    Not so fast, grasshopper. It’s not over yet, just starting a new phase.

    Air New Zealand says it will cancel about 120 services through to the end of February because of the Government’s decision to delay the start of non-MIQ travel.

    Covid-19 Minister Chris Hipkins announced on Tuesday that travellers from Australia would continue to need to go through managed isolation until the end of February, instead of mid-January as had been planned.

    He said that was to give New Zealanders time to get a booster to provide more protect against the new omicron strain of Covid-19.

    The company said Monday that 48 people aboard its Symphony of the Seas cruise ship tested positive for Covid, fueling concerns Omicron could dampen recovery chances for the industry. (Reuters)

    The passengers who tested positive were asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic, the company said in a statement adding six passengers disembarked and went home.

    98% of those who fell ill on the ship were reportedly fully vaccinated.

      I seen a while back on fyi.org that there were a few oia requests to do with wef, at that stage they were long overdue a response and i never followed them to find out the end result but they most likely got stonewalled.

      Ill give it a crack and oia some wef related stuff after new years when im bored during our omicron lockdown…
