  1. I see in the latest online edition of “Horse & Rider” magazine (Racing Section) claims that “Horseface” was entered as a starter in the $1 million Group 1 Race at Ellerslie yesterday afternoon. Horse & Rider Magazine are now reporting that “Horseface” has again become a nonstarter, a regular occurrence with this nag. The publication is also speculating that she had either taken a milkshake provided by “Fine Cotton’s” connections or was isolating because of a suspected case of equine flu, the variant known as Omygod, but this has not been confirmed at the time of going to press.

    “Horseface’s” Strapper, a Russian lady originally from the foothills of the Urinal Mountains in central Russia, one Nora Titsoff, arranged for “Horseface’s” regular Jockey, Klark E Fishboy to get another ride aboard “Nanny”, a fine filly out of “Grandma” and sired by the great “Old Fella” in Race 9 at Ellerslie on Saturday, the “Down Draws Handicap” (a race specifically for youngsters and those destined for the Knackers Yard) over 1200 meters. Fishboy aboard “Nanny” it is reported, ended up paying bugger all on a dry firm track.

    A low turnout of punters in support, was noted by the TAB.

    • If we’re getting the full story here (i.e. he didn’t threaten anybody etc) then this is cause for great concern for all NZ’ers, and in particular, firearm owners. Pretty stupid of the police too, as it’s in everyone’s best interests that firearms are kept where they should legally be; locked in cabinets/safes. Doing anything to encourage people to hide their guns elsewhere is mind-bogglingly dumb.

      • FWIW….When Police use a search warrant to enter private property looking for evidence eg stolen property, it is done under the Summary Proceedings Act and is issued by an officer of the Court (Judge, Registrar, D/Registrar,JP) after the Police have satisfied that person in writing and on oath that a crime has been committed and that they have good grounds to suspect evidence of that crime is likely to be found there.

        A firearms search warrant is issued and signed by a Police Inspector.

        • Toko, thanks for that. If the incident is how the media has portrayed it, the police actions cannot be condoned, although I suspect we may not be getting the entire story.

          Over Covid vaccines, on both sides of the narrative, I’ve either observed or heard of some people tanked up on ego, or lynch mob emotion created by a session of shared anger, making irrational or aggressive statements as to what they are ‘going to do’ or ‘what should be done’.

          Even if the police are acting with new powers as a result of Covid or the police system broken, we still do have to be responsible for our communication as to the effect and influence on others, and how others may perceive or react to that communication.

        • The police don’t need a warrant to search for firearms. That only applies to criminals and gang members, not licensed firearms owners.

          It would also not the first time the police haven’t worried about warrants, or have exceeded the warrant alloances or been selective about the evidence for a warrant.
          Is it true that a warrant can be issued by a court registrars or other court officers rather than only by a judge? Google isn’t clear

            Judges rarely sign s/warrants…generally only for the big stuff like Interception Warrants.
            JP’s sign s/warrants but in cities where Courts are open most days, Registrars are used as the first port of call. There are some small court houses in rural districts, where the local Police Sergeant is the Court Registrar.
            A search warrant actually has on it that it is signed by a Judge, JP or Registrar Not Being a Police Officer.
            There are powers for entry and search without warrant under certain circumstances in the Misuse of Drugs Act and Crimes Act (searching for offensive weapons) both acts relating to search of person and vehicles

    It’s worth reading the comments in response on Seymours fb page.
    If Seymour does not start getting the message from these comments, which are very well put together, then I am at a loss how to get through to these opposition MP’s.
    Seymour says people are going down rabbit holes with his condescending take on people doing research and finding credible factual information but he passes it off.

Those who started Act must be feeling very let down by him. It was a party for the thinking person I believed, silly me. I have been with Act from the very beginning but have cancelled my membership and will never vote for them again. The 120 sycophants of any party in parliament are a pathetic bunch of feeders from the trough and are a disgrace to anyone who has a brain. I guess it shows the calibre of person who stands for parliament these days. Bought and paid for politicians.

      • I wasn’t able to read the Facebook comments because I don’t have an account but Seymour is now beyond the pale as far as I am concerned. Act have lost my vote for good. Maybe I will go back to voting National if they begin to behave like an opposition party but most likely I will simply not bother to vote for the first time in my life which will benefit the communist party of NZ but I am old, why should I care anymore?

        I understand that Seymour started life as a qualified electrical engineer. He is an insult to that profession and the principles, standards, and thinking processes of that profession. This leads me to three inescapable conclusions:
        Either:
        (1) He paid someone to sit his electrical engineering exams, which I doubt,
        Or:
        (2) He has been blackmailed, brainwashed, and compromised is some way.
        Or:
        (3) There really is a parasite in some vaccines that attaches itself to the brain and takes over the thinking processes. I say some, because it would be selective. I wonder if his eyes were glowing when he made the statements he made?

      • A couple of things about this. The Seymour comment I linked to was his response to comments to his previous post which you see when you click to FB. This new comment is just below that bigger FB post and the new reader comments are just below that.
        I made a comment saying the donation cheque to Act from Pfizer must have been a big one. Quite a few agree agreed with me.

        I seriously believe Pfizer made large donations to National, Labour and Act.
        In a similar way I believe Farrar was paid to post all his anti Trump stuff —though I’m not sure who paid him.

        Like everyone else above I’m done with Act. I voted for them last time but Seymour’s attitude to his supporters who do not agree with the vaccines on top of his religious belief in them shows he is just another Wellington beltway idiot.

      Then again a day in politics can be a long one, and there are 2 more years to go.
      However I will not really trust a change in spots to stripes.

      He probably has been acting up as relying on the Epsom vote, to keep control over his caucus.
      Sure it is sensible that his caucus in the first 3 years learn the ropes of Parliament and not damage the ACT image.
      The power he has over his caucus, would seem to be abusive, in holding the Epsom 1 seat entry into Parliament over them now.

      Where Seymour has entered into power & control.
      It would seem he is now aligning to that ideology, with mandatory, and NOT doing the opposition and particularly what was thought of as ACT Party to research, find, to consider and bring “CHOICE” like first & early treatment protocols.

      I now will consider much more of Brian Tamaki’s points, noticing that at one stage in his speech, that people should have the “Choice” whether to be vaxxed or not.
      If he seems to allow “Choice” in much more of our lives, he may be a tolerable pill in ousting the current regime..
      If he wrote up a reasonable manifesto of his policies, not only with Freedom, but allowing “Choice” he may possibly go a long way?
      If Brian Tamaki later over steps the mark then he will also lose support.

      Maybe some other ones can mesh in?
      I will still vote, probably a compromise, more as a lead to the direction I would prefer New Zealand to be going, and as a hope, an ember, a remnant, that some political connection can pick up on that and start to make moves.

  6. I have been sharing about my brother here in Richmond, he finally passed away early this morning. I was able to spend a lot of time with him, at 78 he had certainly put a lot more back into his world than what he took about.
    The interesting thing now is about to happen, there is going to be a Memorial Service held in a funeral home and more than 50 will be expected to attend. Therefore vaccination passports will be required. Under normal circumstances it might be that I would be speaking, probably the main one plus supplying the photo slide show etc. I am, along with my niece who helped nurse him over the final two days including when he finally passed, are not vaccinated and have no intention of doing so.
    So that is going to be interesting.

I am so glad you were not excluded from his last few days through lack of jabs The orange light system Government pamphlet shows that you cannot attend indoor or outdoor events, is a funeral an event? I would have thought not. The paper I received in the post box does not state funerals, but small gatherings based on the size of the venue, a maximum of 50 I would have thought that funerals would come under that heading . It is definitely not an event.

    • Condolences HP. See if you can give your talk remotely (ie it is “live stream” onto a screen in the funeral home.) I spoke at my father’s and brother’s funeral. It was important to me. Alternatively you maybe able to pre-record it and have it screened during the service.

Neither of them are inspirational, visionary or leaders of any kind or show any signs of opposing any of this Governments fiddling. A simple question is, why would you vote for either because neither have put forward any long term plan to better this country and drive it forward. In Luxon’s case. Newhub reported recently that he wanted to work closer with this Government and he was requiring his shadow Climate Change spokesman to work closer with James Shaw, a man who, in the article, Luxon claimed to admire. Bugger me, I thought his job was to oppose the Government, work towards planning a better governing party, take the people with him and eventually form a better alternative, not be part of the existing organisation. One has to ask, is Luxon running a business or an opposition and alternative government?

    Then, there is Cindy’s lot. What have they achieved positive for this country and the future of this country in nearly 5 years, absolutely nothing, only division, distrust and hatred. Seymour and Luxon show no signs of being any different, No vision no alternative, no plan to bring people together and no hope. We are truly stuffed as a country at the moment and if a vote was to be cast in an election today, I would find it difficult to vote for any of them, for none of them show the vision to make this place again the great and wonderful place it once was.

    I just cannot believe that the government is paying $259 for a Doctor to give a jab.
    Australia was under Medicare paying the following, but Scummo has just raised it $10 after big blow back.
    “Under the Medicare Benefits Schedule finalised on Friday, doctors will be paid $30.76 for the first consult and $24.25 for the second, given both the Pfizer and AstraZeneca jab require two shots within 21 days.”
    If you were a doctor with no worries about administering death and destruction, New Zealand would be looking really attractive with double the jabs with four boosters for the year, it will be the new world gold rush if this figure is correct.
    Well organized, a doctor and three nurses could manage 36 an hour, nearly $10,000 an hour, beats treating anything else by a country mile. There are doctors that can push 80 appointments a day, this is a fact.
    Does this mean the government has $3.66 Billion of honey on the table to get the vaxecutions completed on target.

  20. Wombatge, I knew that Health organisations were getting close to $230 per COVID jab they administered, but when I look at what Dr de Monchy has pointed out, is a rort. Dr’s and for example, the Maori Health Trust (who has administered the vast bulk of COVID jabs locally where I live) and which is run by Willie Jacksons sister, has made an awful lot of money out of this scam.
    The payday for these Trusts today must be massive.

      • IAASB…. Some 15 years ago the National Station had a daily reading from a recently released book on the sinking….It was a great listen. Bits from that broadcast that I can still remember was how The General Grant had its masts wedged under a cliff ledge and the captain’s refusal to take an axe to them. The rising tide drove the masts through the hull.
        Once on land, the shipwreck crew and passengers had the one box of matches to start a fire. The captain kept striking the wet matches without ignition and when he was down to the last match, a crew member snatched it off him, stuck the match in his hair for a day or so to dry it out and got a fire going with it that they never let go out. That crew member became leader of the survivors.

      They never stop to look or comment on how different the Europeans or the Americans (say in New York, Washington, Detroit or any other place) live as compared to New Zealanders. A great percentage of their populations live in densely populated cities, in confined areas and do not have the open, outside style of life we enjoy in New Zealand. The seasons are completely different to here and robustness of the population is quite different. So they are not comparing apples with apples, but I guess it suits their narrative.

      When you ask people who peddle this kind of argument, what relevance it has to New Zealand’s situation, they can seldom tell you.
