Look and weep

Coming soon to a farming village near us soon, or is it here already.?

Freedom of speech, freedom of association, freedom to do what you like on your own property is only a fallacy if the do-gooders get their way.

Look at this video and ask yourself what was the reasoning behind this courageous woman’s problems with the bureaucrats who tried to put her out of business.

For those of you who don’t want to spend 30 minutes watching a video, click on the “…” next to the “+Save” icon. That allows you to open a transcript. It’s not 100% readable, but good enough to get a feel for what the story is about. It’s well produced though 🙂

Basic principle:

Local government screws over a smalltime farm owner for hosting a kids birthday party and selling produce from her farm. A grassroots movement starts and after several years and attempts, gets a bill through the state that confirms right-to-farm and limits the local government ability to screw with her property rights.

And for more reading, Martha has since gone on to significantly bigger things.

Those who gain power and become corrupt should be weeded out.

Our government nearly stopped the sale of raw milk a few years back. Much lobbying was done, and the sale of raw milk continues. However, purchasers of raw milk must now sign a consent form ( one off) with the supplier of their milk. The EU also has some strange draconian rules around seed supplies and certain food products. No doubt to help the agro chemical giants gain major control over global food production.
