Former employees and board members of Auckland’s Tongan Health Society charity are calling for a Government investigation into its taxpayer funded operations.
Not an old white man in sight. If it wasn’t for the fact that the taxpayer is paying for it, I would say let them go at each other.
Tongan vs Maori.
Why does this sort of remind me of Latin America, where one guy puts on a crisp military uniform, speaks intelligently, and rules an entire nation with an iron fist the next day? (and skims cream off the top, you bet)
Whether there is a genuine case against Dr Doherty is difficult to ascertain as Barbara Dreaver’s story quickly places the focus on his ethnicity.
They centre around Māori GP Dr Glen Doherty, who is the CEO, clinical director and a board member.
So what if he is Maori?
The facts are all that matter…The Board reckons he is doing a good job.
Why didn’t Dreaver quiz the Counsellor who believed a Tongan should be in charge of the Organisation?
The place wasn’t performing well before Doherty took the Helm.
I smelt a rat too Maggy. The Tongan seemed very concerned that Dr Doherty, while doing a good job “had too much control to change the way Tongans’ do things.”
It amazes me in this day and age that you bring groups of immigrants to the country because apparently they are going to benefit us but then you end up spending god knows how much money on separate health groups, education programs etc because they can’t cut it with the general population.
Can’t see the benefits.
They can though.
At least South African Immigrants will only insult those fatty pieces of cardboard you call sausages.
