Jacinda Ardern arrives to warm welcome in Suva

Jacinda Ardern landed in Suva on Monday evening where she was greeted by Fijian Prime Minister Frank Bainimarama and a full military procession.

The New Zealand national anthem was played and Ardern inspected the guard before being whisked off in a 26 kilometre motorcade at speed through the city of Suva.

Hundreds of locals had come out to line the streets in an effort to see Ardern after the local paper and television channels broadcast the full itinerary of her three days in Fiji including arrivals, events, press conferences and departure times.

There are dozens of billboards dotted around the city with a large photo of Ardern and a warm welcome.

This morning, Ardern is taking part in a traditional kava ceremony before heading off for a tree planting and then to the National War Museum to lay a wreath.

This afternoon, she will have a formal sit-down with Bainimarama where issues of trade, aid, defence and climate change are expected to be discussed.

Tonight, Ardern will attend a state dinner, which also marks 50 years of independence for Fiji.

Surprise surprise. There is Jethro, still on the back porch. We need to say sorry for the false aspersions we cast this morning.

        • No, I actually think he has First Family Delusion that gives him an inflated sense of his own importance.
On formal occasions protocol dictates Prince Phillip remains one step behind his wife the reigning monarch. There is no such requirement for Jethro and his live-in shag and when foreign countries roll out the red carpet for New Zealand’s Prime Minister, the cringeworthy cretin thinks that makes him the big deal King of his World and Legend in his own socks.

  1. Oh dear! While Comrade Cindy is away, Whinstone has more questions to answer about the ÑZF foundation, this time about brown bagging from the fishing industry!

  2. Why is Cindy swanning off over in Fiji. She should be at home preparing for when the first case of COVID-19 arrives. If you only watch a couple of minutes of this latest update from Chris Martenson make it from minute 17:20 when he talks about how Singapore is dealing with the problem. New Zealand could be, should be, preparing along the same lines. After all Lyin’ Cindy has told us repeatedly how much she cares about making us all safer.

    • Looked like the Comrade was enjoying herself reviewing the Fiji troops with real machineguns!
Will she have to review the Aust Army troops as well, cause they have machineguns too!
I think our police guns are only semi auto to protect her and her family!

    • Keep up Alice. Cindy is all prepared for that event. Her private plane is on standby. Once covid-19 is announced she will be off to the Chathams leaving the worst for the rest of us.

    • you say
‘She should be at home preparing for when the first case of COVID-19 arrives. ‘

well she has not prepared for anything else in 2.5 years.
Why would the tart start now?
The destruction of oil and gas exploration was an off the cuff reaction.

Why plan when she is not the leader.
She takes orders and right now that will be to be offshore as much as possible.
Fat Guts Lange was the same.
      He was always sent away.

  3. Would have been a bastard if they rolled out a blue carpet !!

Red is the suitable colour for the Commie.

Have they let those troublemaking trash NZ repeaters back into Fiji?
So cool when Frank told them to F off.
