The Democratic Party’s Takeover From Within
Headlines have been full of comments on the new Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) party-within-a-party candidates for Congress. DSA operates within the Democratic Party, but it is a separate wing with its own ideology and agenda.
The ideology is simple to describe. It’s communism. The DSA crew call it “socialist” because it sounds better, but that’s propaganda. It’s communism by another name.
Their tactics are straightforward. They don’t run against Republicans. They pick solidly Democratic districts and run against other Democrats in a primary election. Once they win the primary, the election in November is a foregone conclusion because Republicans are simply not competitive in those districts.
The DSA candidates won three primary elections in New York recently, but another DSA victory last week in Colorado showed the trend is not confined to the East Coast. This will result in at least four, probably more, communists in Congress next January. There’s a lot to say about the individual candidates and their repugnant antisemitic views.
For now, let’s just look at their platform. These days, the communists don’t even try to hide what they’re doing. They support violence against ICE agents who are enforcing the law. They organize antisemitic demonstrations on university campuses, some of which have descended into violence. They ignore crimes committed by illegal aliens. They support Shariah law, open borders and empty prisons.
Younger voters who are rightly concerned about jobs, buying homes, inflation and the burden of student loans are turning to DSA for an alternative to progressive Democrats who don’t deliver. But they’re not reading the fine print about whom they’re electing.
The DSA movement could result in the biggest wave of support for communists in the U.S. since the 1930s. Or it could mean the Democratic Party is destroying itself from the inside out. It could mean both.
For now, investors need to keep an eye on this trend and watch your wallets. The DSA is coming for them.
TOP is a trojan horse into the Labour party. With the incestuous relationships between TOP organisers and Liarbour, It’s obvious what they are up to.
Lets set the record straight. The “Opportunity Party” is most definitely NOT a “Teal” (Blue Green / centre right ) party.

3. Their number 3 candidate is Kayla Kingdom-Bedd, an author of the He Puapua report that Labour secretly adopted
4. She is the partner of James Shaw, the ousted leader from the Green Party
5. James Shaw is said to be doing a lot of the heavy lifting policy wise
Do not be hoodwinked in to thinking this is some sort of teal centre right party, it is not.
Go and check out their website and see for yourself their hair brained “policies” around taxation , soft on crime and climate hysteria.
That newly appointed corporate leader of TOP has an eerie visual likeness to DL. She is quite photogenic with a “kind” face and the verbal skills to sound convincing while issuing TOP’s slogan policy clickbait.
In what way is Kayla Kingdom-Bedd James Shaws partner? In business or life?
It has been said often but never explained as he appears to be still married to Annabel.
It does sound interesting, as a 2 mummy boy could be a 2 ….. with a hypen.???
Looking at the comments to FB link ED has below it looks like the relationship is via WWF —Shaw is chairman of the NZ branch and Kingdom-Bedd is the CEO.
Top is a new watermelon party for all those who cant get to the top of existing party’s because of dei . I see it as a creation to try and give disillusioned leftys a place to go. The big issue for them is they will poll well but will those voters with no actual loyalty vote on the day.
This is the kind of ignorance unsurprising when you’ve selected a leader from a Seek job ad and chosen a pretty face who can speak well and sell herself to the easily duped.

This is an absolute shocker from Quilae Wong — and it exposes just how out of her depth she, and TOP, really are.
Wong is already on record suggesting retirees should simply “downsize,” implying many have made substantial gains on the family home anyway, when confronted with the reality that TOP’s Land Value Tax (LVT) could force tens of thousands of pensioners out of homes they’ve spent decades paying off.
Now it turns out Wong is just as dismissive about the impact TOP’s LVT would have on businesses that own land.
In her NBR interview, when asked about the burden on businesses, Wong casually replied:
“That, that will be part of it. Yeah. Yeah, and they will sort of have to adjust their cash flows accordingly.”
That response is breathtaking in its detachment from economic reality.
Perhaps Wong needs better coaching from the Labour-style gatekeepers in the background seemingly pulling the strings — because that answer sounded less like serious economic leadership and more like someone repeating talking points without fully understanding the real-world consequences.
Any business owner listening would immediately recognise how naive that response was.
She appears completely oblivious to the fact that land is not some speculative side hustle for most businesses — it is a core operational asset. For retailers, manufacturers, logistics operators, warehouse owners, farmers, and thousands of SMEs, land is fundamental to staying operational.
Telling businesses to simply “adjust their cash flows” betrays either a profound lack of understanding of how businesses operate — or a disturbing indifference to the consequences.
A 1.75% annual Land Value Tax is not a minor policy tweak. It would impose a major recurring cost on land-intensive businesses, squeeze already tight margins, discourage investment, reduce expansion, and inevitably push costs onto consumers through higher prices.
This is not remotely pro-business, nor is it “centrist.” It is further evidence that TOP is a left-wing party masquerading as a pragmatic middle-ground alternative.
The bigger question is: why isn’t the media scrutinising this more aggressively?
If a policy has the potential to displace retirees, hammer businesses, and raise consumer prices, journalists should be rigorously testing its assumptions — not giving it a free pass because it arrives wrapped in polished branding and “evidence-based” rhetoric.
TOP increasingly looks less like a centrist disruptor and more like a better-dressed version of the Greens.

Slightly more pragmatic with less DEI & added appeal to the Remuera ‘ladies who do lunch’. Their policies, if implemented,will represent the greatest transfer of wealth ever witnessed in NZ as control of assets moves from boomers to bums.
As a group, YSB readers & commentators would do well to suggest concise & cogent responses as to how the Land Value Tax will impact negatively on its supporters.
Qiulae Wong has presented her arguments well. We need to counter them & The Boss is the man with the time, the nous & the forum to organise the opposition.
