Have a look at these wannabe singers. Their reactions to being told they are not good enough is priceless. This is the result of schools dumbing down all students to the lowest denominator. Must make a teachers life so simple.

  1. Well, I couldn’t resist it could I. I posted this on FB with this article.
The battle of the Te Kauwhata College ball has left some bruises this week.

It all started Monday, when a friend took to Twitter to let off steam. Livi Reihana is a talented performer and she’s also a single mum, doing her best for her teenage daughter who goes to school at (you guessed it) Te Kauwhata.

Livi was, ahem, livid after discovering her daughter’s boyfriend had tried to pay for a ticket to the ball, and been refused. The school wouldn’t take his $50, because he had outstanding fees.

Livi told her followers that this was a kind and caring young man with a single parent and four siblings; that this was a school with a lot of kids from wealthy families but, equally, many families who struggle to get by.

    • School fees are a bitch. I can vouch for that. There seems to be NO end to the school having it’s hand out for you to dump money into.

  2. “Talk about entitled” Lol. Makes think of The Spy Who Loved Me, where the bad guy pushed a button and you fell through a trap door into a shark-filled tank. Simon said “NO” you’d best get the fuck off the stage!

  3. You’d think that their friends and family would tell them that they can’t sing!
In reality I think they are just a set up to make the shows entertaining.

    • My father destroyed any thought I could sing well before I turned 6 years old. It didn’t do my self-esteem any good at all knowing I wasn’t a warbler and being made to ‘sing’ in front of the class. Tough parenting or allowing them to believe they are fantastic, someone will eventually burst their bubble.

    • You’d think anyone who wanted to do this type of thing would bother to get some singing lessons first.

BTW, anybody can sing. The problem is whether anybody else wants to listen.
